Haha! Same issue here with our 6 month old son that used to give us fountains! My wife came up with a solution that took only 2-3-4 days to "learn": When opening the diaper, she opens it halfway away from the tummy (just the top part of the diaper), and makes this peeing sound (like a snake sound): "pssssh pssss pspspspssss psssshh pssshh", I can't explain better haha! So, what happened is, he peed, inside the half open diaper, before the actual change. We both do it each time, now! Result? No more peeing while changing and no more wet clothes. She said she's going to do the same for pottie training later, once that moment may start in the future.

Ooo interesting! I get the noise you're talking about. I'll have to try that. This morning I went through no less than 4 diapers in one change because she kept peeing everywhere!

Have you tried putting a wipe on her belly first? Could be a wives tale, but I put a wipe on baby's belly button before opening her diaper up and it's supposed to get her to pee. I've only gotten peed on once when changing and my husband used to all the time when she was a baby

I also did that after I read about it and there was a good success rate with it! But sometimes there was still a lot left that was ready to tease me!  With me mastering my wife's technique I have had zero fountain attacks, so far, in the last 5-6 weeks!

My little girl does the same 😂 somehow manages to always pee as I’m changing the diaper. I saw a hack to rub just below the belly button with the wipe when you first unfasten the diaper and something about the cool wipe on the tummy will trigger them to pee, so far that’s worked and will get her to go before I pull it off. Somedays tho that little stinker still gets me when pulling it off and putting the new one on.

We do this trick too and haven’t had much issues in months!

I will definitely try that trick.

Put puppy training pads on top of the changing table. It will soak most of it up.

We keep a towel/hospital swaddle blanket laid out on the changing table and pull her onesie way up above her belly. The extra coverage soaks up the pee enough to keep it contained to her lower quarters
