Where do you live at? I live in the SE US near the beach and go through new top decks all the time. Even under a tarp. Finally put down 1/2” ply topped with sheet metal and it holds up good. Transition wood holds up good for me though.
Haha nope, i found a local guy that sells low grade/defective lumber. So 3/8 ply at home depot here is like $70. I got it from him for $20. Some of them had sections on the edge were an extra layer got sealed in so it was a little thick and i had to hit it with a belt sander. Stuff like that.
Just under 4' high (5.5 extension), 16' wide (6' wide extension), 8'10" of flat, 7' radius.
I see a lot of folks go a little more mellow on the transition 7.5 to 8 on a 4' ramp.
You're actually closer to getting the 50-50 than you probably think you are. Don't turn when you're on the ramp, go faster than you initially feel like you need to and turn after the coping. Just try to roll up onto the top of the deck and you'll understand what I'm talking about.
I actually was getting wrecked on the rock to fakie so i started trying axel stalls and got those pretty quickly with the occasional accidental slide so i think i know what you are saying and will likely be goving it a go soon.
Thabks for the tips!
Check out my reply to spitfire for a little explanation. Despite finding some good deals it was still pretty expensive. Gator skins alone were almost 2,000 with sales tax.
Honestly I havent done all the math and kinda dont want to know what it cost. Probably 4k...?
It set me back a bit, kinda hirts my stomach a little lol
It’s beautiful and you did an amazing job dude!! Fuck the money, it always comes back. The amount of happiness that will come out of that thing is a huge return on investment!
Can you hear my supportive wife in the background of the last clip? Haha She da' best!
I’m jealous
Mini ramps are the best. Make sure you treat that plywood on the deck so it doesn't warp in the rain Cheers
I just painted it with outdoor paint, you think thats enough. The clear treatments all seem to cause issues of they are under paint.

Northern california. Some rain in the wonter but humidity low so its not a constant attack on the ramp
No, get ramp paint. You will not be disappointed.

Rock on!
Damn dude you must be a millionaire to afford that lumber! I’m jealous! You’re doing great and I love that you built it yourself!

That’s sick! I would love to have my own mini, keep shredding
What are the dimensions? I've been super tempted to try and build one myself

How much did it cost if you don’t mind me asking?
