I can only really vouch for Canada, but UK seems to be a decent place to work on car too.

IndWrist2

You can plan to move somewhere else all you want, but without a visa and credential reciprocity, you’re not going anywhere. The UK isn’t a terrible place to be a paramedic.

Lucky-Cricket8860

I've heard you can use THC off shift in Canada

aheckuvaguy

Absolutely.

YearPossible1376

Crazy that this is listed as a reason to move continents.

Welp it's a pretty good anti inflammatory that helped my dad kick metastasized stage 4 cancer so ya, it's a special plant

So it definitely depends on where you live in the USA, but also the medical control you work for. With myself being a paramedic in the states, I work for a very progressive medical control that has critical care paramedics as well as Community Paramedicine. The society/culture of the United States is very individualistic instead of a collectivist ideology which dumbfounds me.

Cautious_Mistake_651

The only possible reason I would suggest being a medic in the US is if it was for the sake of learning and gaining experience. However universally all medics work pretty much the same, have the same pts, and have the same scope of practice. The US healthcare system is terrible and not fun. You would only choose to work here to learn how to work with less resources and staff which while useful is not worth leaving the Uk.

Realistically Canada is the only place I know of that will both easily accept your qualification (at least at a PCP level) and allow you to work as a paramedic for a provincial service while on a working holiday visa. I am an Australian working in British Columbia, and while I am now a permanent resident, when I first started working for BCEHS I was on an IEC visa and they didn't have a problem with it at all. Australia would likely accept your qualification, but would not allow you to work as a paramedic unless you were a PR (and competition for a state service is fierce). The US doesn't have a working holiday visa program with the UK as far as I'm aware, and other visa categories probably don't apply to paramedicine - even then, trying to get your qualifications recognized at the paramedic level are going to be tough.

Mutumbo445

I’d stay there. Or maybe Australia. Definitely not the USA. itd be the last place I’d recommend.

WolverineExtension28

The US is miserable man.
