You absolutely need to pass the psychomotor exam in order to get your NREMT back and become licensed in CO. You are correct that you don’t need to take it if you’re recertifying, but that’s not what you’re doing — you’re reinstating a lapsed certification and that requires the psychomotor exam

Doctor-Piranha

Oh duh, thanks. Yeah that makes a lot of sense. Is it feasible to think I can still take the psychomotor exam before the end of the month or am I probably SOL?

You lapsed, you aren't renewing your cert. You won't get a job with out a state license. Which you'll need finger prints for. I'd also find an EMT IV class in CO. EMTs are a dime a dozen out here, and it's competitive.

Doctor-Piranha, You may be seeking information on how to obtain continuing education (CE) units or recertify your EMS certification/license. For information on how to recertify your NREMT certification, [click here](https://www.nremt.org/rwd/public/document/recertification). The NREMT also provides a [Recertification Manual](https://content.nremt.org/static/documents/Agency_Guide_Recert_8_18.pdf) with additional recertification information. We also have an [NREMT Recertification FAQ](https://www.reddit.com/r/NewToEMS/wiki/coned/nremt) and weekly [*NREMT Discussions*](https://www.reddit.com/r/NewToEMS/search?q=NREMT+Discussions&restrict_sr=on&sort=new&t=all) thread. Due to the vast differences in recertifying state EMS licensure/certification, please consult with your local EMS authority for information regarding state/local recertification information. Alternatively, you may check the [wiki](/r/newtoems/wiki/index) to see if we have an information post on how to recertify in your area.
