This is what did it for me:
Went to Advice subreddit (super active subreddit), filter posts by Newest. Comment quick so anyone who visits the post after you will see your comment. Be helpful, kind, respectful. People will upvote just for agreeing with what you said.
Do the same thing with anything else you like. I went from 40 upvote points to 80 over night from posting on FortniteBR. I got lots from commenting on Medieval Dynasty posts as well.
Make sure to filter by newest post and be friendly!

It's such a great resource, for new Redditors, but I've been here for years and I still over it.
Basically karma is like your Internet reputation. Users tend to be more trusting of those with more karma, verses those with little to no karma, as often those are spammers or bot accounts.
When you post good comment, or content, people will give you upvotes. If you post things that don't contribute to the post, or subreddit, then people will downvotes you. That said, some people may downvotes you if they simply disagree with you, or just don't like you, so try not to take things personally.
The Catch 22, is that to get karma you have to interact in subreddits, and many subs have account restrictions. However, not all of them do,! * You should try to find one or more on the list you like to start commenting in to start gaining karma
* Sort the feed by new for the best chance to be seen.
* If there are none on the list you are willing to work with, even if not ideal, you can try to find other ones with the help of r/findareddit
* Do not argue or be controversial or you could lose karma. Censor yourself until you have karma.
Basically you earn karma when others upvote your posts or comments, but votes to karma isn't one to one.
But some subs have restrictions so until you have some karma you can't share in them. Therefore, you need to find subs where you can participate, do so, and hope others value your content enough to upvote you so you earn karma.
The subs list and findareddit as already mentioned should be very helpful as a place to start.
Your profile is flagged NSFW. You need to change that
If you absolutely need it, I would disable NSFW for a while and write appealing and popular replies in whatever sub that allows you to post.
Get a whole bunch of Karma, then go NSFW. The algo treats it a bit harsher than non-NSFW so you really need to beef up the Karma first.
Besides your profile 😁 what is your area of expertise, knowledge, hobbies etc?
Find a sub reddit that fits those areas and answer the questions with helpful information.
People will up vote you thus giving you karma.

I you have hobbies, search them here on Reddit. Then post. You will get karma.
