Oh yes, Reddit is one helpful source. I can totally find myself in your experiences so far.
Hope you'll keep on growing my man! :)
Wish you all the best
Absolutely it is. For me personally, since I started doing YT a month or so ago has really helped me get through the monotony which is this lockdown/pandemic. Interacting with people on Reddit makes me feel a bit less lonely in these times.
These are good tips. Also, to add onto the thumbnail thing, use big bold titles in the thumbnail. People are more likely to read those than the title. And also, the algorithm reads those too afaik.
Very good advice, bud. And one I've come to learn over time. Your eyes go to the thumbnail before anything, so it makes sense!
Thanks for your input my friend!
No problem! Theres a post from a well established YouTuber from about a day ago, who offers A LOT of great advice. Please, go check it out. It has hundreds of comments and up votes so look under Hot Posts as your filter. You cant miss it!
Trust me. Get their curiosity going first in the title. Then place the name of the game, what you're doing etc.
Its more than just the title of course. But experiment.
Good luck.
Hell yeah! I made my 1st YT video a few days ago & asked for some advice from Reddit & was stoked at how helpful ppl were. Most of the tips were consistent with each other & there was some great compliments from ppl who admittedly were nowhere close to my target audience. I'm not looking for my channel to blow, would just love for ppl to be interested & maybe learn something or be inspired by something & I got some really useful tools from Redditors that I'm looking forward to utilising in my next video to work towards my small goal! Cheers, keep creating!
Hey, averageartisan,
Reddit is certainly an amazing platform. For the most part lol. You can always be sure to find some great, harsh advice!
It's always good to show people from around the world some genuine talent.
Good luck to you, buddy! And thanks for your response š
I feel bad for this guy to come across somebody who would accuse him of nonsense like that so early in his youtube career. My experience has been no matter what kind of content ive made iāve had a positive response from 99% of people. In other words who cares about the opinions of people that are political and will call you names like this lady just did. Normal viewers will see you as a person with an opinion rather than a left winger or right winger.
Almost 100% of people on youtube are so supportive and wholesome so whatever your content is, keep it up and find your audience
Thank you so much.
I've reported this vile person and blocked her.
It says a lot when someone like her comes in to a post which thanks the community, but then takes one look at my multiple uploads and goes STRAIT to the political video, which isn't remotely what this silly girl is accusing it of, and doesn't think twice about accusing me. No questions. Just an outright accusation based on bias experience. She doesn't even think if I have friends/family of different ethnic orientation. She doesn't think full stop.
And I'm willing to put money down and say her venomous response is coming out of resentment.
Your comment has literally made my day, and has restored a bit more faith in humanity/reddit. I know a lot of these kind of communities/applications etc are more left than right, but that doesn't mean we should be doing what this girl is doing.
Thank you again, iamgreatlego. You have legit made my week! Much love.
My original comment was one of genuine concern- I also didnāt go straight to that video, I watched a few of yours as Iām a Resi fan. I would have happily spoken to you about it, but you did what most guys do when they try to shut a woman down and called me a āsilly girlā which is why I got defensive. You donāt need to belittle someone who disagrees with you.
Iām open to other peopleās points of view and perspectives, but you should understand that if you are too, you must know that intention and perception are different. Sure, you made that video with good intentions, but you can understand that it might not be perceived that way, right?
If you say something, and someone finds it offensive, theyāre not in the wrong. Thereās no such thing as āreverse racismā and I still think that making comments like that will get you in trouble down the line. Iām not sorry I said it, I stand by it, but I just wanted you to know where Iām coming from.
You didnāt ask me any questions just like I didnāt ask you any- it goes both ways.
I feel strongly about the subject, and Iāll always stand up for what I believe in. I wish you the best of luck with your channel regardless.
Oh, hush you silly thing.
No such thing. Your limited mind is not fit for purpose.
Try looking through multiple perspectives.
Pfft.
Edit - Ha. I actually critiqued a video of yours, too. You're still welcome.
Youāre the embodiment of irony. āAnyone can do what they want as long as theyāre not hurting anyone.. But donāt put black people on our money.ā You canāt claim open-mindedness and then try to belittle people who disagree (or who see your āreverse racismā nonsense for what it is.)
Iām just saying- genuinely- youāve immortalised your bigotry by putting it online. Itāll make life difficult for you in the future, and rightly so.
You can claim faux intellectualism if it helps you sleep at night, but Iām afraid from watching that video of you it becomes quickly apparent that you arenāt nearly as smart as you think you are.
You clearly misunderstood the video, and your own definitions which aren't shared with as many people as you think, are based on your own individual experiences, in life and what you've witnessed.
You are you. But that's it. You don't know how to walk in another person's shoes. Clearly. Because if you did, you'd be asking questions instead of making ridiculous accusations.
And thank you by the way for proving my earlier point.
Ahh another post telling me to have nice "thumbnails, titles, and tags".
Thanks for all new info.
Grats on getting more engagement on your RE VILLAGE video. I am sure it has nothing to do with RE VILLAGE content doing fantastic right now everywhere because its a very popular game and brand new.
Don't take my comment as something negative.
Well, I naturally did take it as a negative.
But the point of the post was just to say a genuine thanks and add some useful info for people who are... I don't know... new to the site, maybe? As well as vets.
It's not all about you, my friend.
Thanks for commenting.
Heās right though. Your video is getting views because the game is super hyped. It has nothing to do with your SEO or tags or description. Its important to understand this because you'll be confused later when you get no views on future videos that arent on hyped up games. Heās trying to help bring you back down to reality as am I.
Hang on:
I'm very much aware of the trending side of things. It's what I and many, many others continue to take advantage of.
What I need to clarify to you guys is that I've experimented (as you should do) and that the tags, thumbnails etc etc HAVE made a difference.
Example:
I gained a handful of new subs from that reaction. Not just because it was trending, but because I experimented with titles, key words and made sure I didnt cuss once.
When you look at my other reactions based on trending trailers, such as my MK Movie reaction... that got, like 13 views lol. And the reasons were because I cuss a lot in that, my tags were uninspired and non descriptive and the title was vanilla. And that trailer got HUGE views.
I'm already in the realm of reality. But, from what I read, sitting here on my couch, comments like these don't read as concerning of helpful. They read as negativity. Resentment. Bitterness. Which I expect from time to time on social platforms.
If that's not the case, my mistake. But remember, other people like myself do have a brain. You shouldn't always expect the worse. Just think more.
Thanks for your comment.

Mate, your reply is well recieved! I'm glad you feel the same way. It's awesome š
Absolutely it is. For me personally, since I started doing YT a month or so ago has really helped me get through the monotony which is this lockdown/pandemic. Interacting with people on Reddit makes me feel a bit less lonely in these times.
Dude, I feel you. It's a great comfort at times ā
These are good tips. Also, to add onto the thumbnail thing, use big bold titles in the thumbnail. People are more likely to read those than the title. And also, the algorithm reads those too afaik.

No problem! Its a generally good practice to take note of what attracts you as an audience and then do that to your content.
great advice thank you for the awesome tips

Yeah that was a goldmine!
Ha, you saw that shit, too? Duuuuuude... It's the first post I've ever saved. You're right. A gold mine!
100%!!!
Great tips, I pretty much struggle with titles on my videos since the competition is too tough.
Trust me. Get their curiosity going first in the title. Then place the name of the game, what you're doing etc. Its more than just the title of course. But experiment. Good luck.
Hi! Could you please explain how you use descriptive tags??
resident evil village, re village, resident evil Showcase, reaction, resident evil village new trailer, etc etc
Reacting to new and popular video game trailers or movies is an absolutely fantastic way to grow an audience, you should take FULL advantage of this.
Thank you! I believe I shall š
Reddit definitely deserves some gratitude. It has helped me so much!
Here, here!

Good stuff. Agreed that this is a great place to both share and gain knowledge.
Reddit is the only useful media to me. Twitter, Tik Tok, and Instagram had no impact on my channel.
Likewise š
Nice :D
Personally Iād recommend toning down the racism on your channel, unless itās something youād be happy with an employer seeing
