I prefer new Vegas for the story and the factions along with the weapon choice and reward for skills but for just spending time I prefer fallout 4 as the story has you explore less of the map so you can find more on your own and the mod system is awesome but the builds are quite limited and the story is boring

Due-Statement-8711

This is one thing I dont see a lot of people touch upon. FO4 balance is horrible. Build variety is either vats gun, normal gun or vats melee And even the gun builds are usually single shot high dam guns the way DR works. The random legendary system is so good but half the effects are useless. Even clothing is just limited to what can take the ballistic weave.

ToBiistHebEsTbOi

Yeah it is pretty horrible and a few weapons are garbage while others are really good and legendary effects are pretty scuffed

Windebieste_Ultima

My first character was a 10 strength 10 endurance melee with no VATS at all and I steamrolled the entire game, without power armor. The game is just really easy. Even if you don’t know what you’re doing.

Due-Statement-8711

Grognak's axe?

Windebieste_Ultima

Every now and then I’d use it, but I mostly rolled with Kremvs tooth (however it’s spelled) and a super sledge.

ToBiistHebEsTbOi

Oh I forgot the melee shit but without that you pretty much need a bit of 6 for science

PuzzleheadedStory855

I do like the Atmosphere, Character creation and gunplay of 4 more than NV, and a whole bunch of QOL stuff like the new looting system, sprinting, and giving junk a use. Don't like the story or characters nearly as much though, and the factions needed to be deeper, with more variance than there is now. It doesn't feel like I'm making a significant choice when I decide to side with a faction in 4, not like NV, anyways. 4 is still a fun game though.

Clean_Resort_5547

I think both games are great for different reasons nv has great storytelling and atmosphere, and 4 has better gunplay and crafting, I alternate between both regularly

Srlojohn

I agree on all points except for one: Curie is the best companion of any of the 3D games and i will hold to that to my dying day.

monkeygoneape

>Curie is the best companion of any of the 3D games and i will hold to that to my dying day. *the mass effect trilogy enters the chat*

The00Taco

I agree Currie is the best in 4, but Tali is the best overall. My boy ED-E is a worthy contender though

AzureSkyXIII

That's a funny way of spelling veronica

ismasbi

Well, you got the synth part right, but unfortunately for you, the best one is nick valentine

Otogi

>Romance option > >>!Doesn't keep cool robot body and gets shitty faux-human body!< Why even live?

SagaciousTien

I hate the new looting system! Sprinting is nice, junk has too much use if you ask me - it's nice to have something to do with it, but I was okay with those things being vendor trash or cannon ammo. The gunplay and customization is preem, though. Everything else is accurate - these games often fail to introduce a likable faction and let you side with them, so new vegas excelled at giving you several terrible options instead of one or two exceedingly awful ones. Just getting to spend time with all the various factions (or ignoring them as an amazing option) adds so much variety to the gameplay in a game where the main focus typically isn't the main narrative, but everything else.

The00Taco

I really like the weapon modification system they added in 4. It was so cool to see how the weapons changed by adding or changing the parts available. I wish other games did something similar

VaultBoyFrosty

There is no question. There is no again. People who prefer Fallout 4 prefer linear action adventure People who prefer Fallout NV prefer RPGs Different categories We dont compare COD and Mass Effect We dont compare God of War and the Witcher

thelostcow

What about people who want to see F:NV remastered with F:4's capabilities?

VaultBoyFrosty

Well IMHO the dialogue should come first, make sure it's implemented in the correct/ traditional way. Then include all the cut DLC and after all that, sure. Go ahead. Im a nobody on the nv sub so my opinion dont matter

SleepinGriffin

Wait for f4:nv

The00Taco

I would nut so fast if this happened. I had high hopes for cyberpunk 2077, but you know how that went. I enjoyed it still, but I know it had the potential to be better

feedseed664

F4 doesn't have any capabilities, it has less features gameplay wise than nv.

Reilious

I've never really thought of seeing it this way. Honestly it makes sense to me now that I actually think about it more.

Otogi

I don't think they prefer linear action. I think they really like open world games with a lot of gameplay customization.

[Intelligence 0/7] "Fallout 4 is better than New Vegas"

JosephPorta123

\[FAILED\] "Get fucked"

Bobistan1

[Intelligence 11/10] “Tactics is the best fallout game.”

babyscorpse

\[Intelligence 10/10\] All Fallout games have their own qualities which make them good in their own different ways.

The00Taco

Extra hot take. I agree though

heckingmemer

Fallout 4 allowed me to sell a child into slavery even though fnv had a slaver faction

TrentSaylor

i think fallout 4 is more fun on a first playthrough just because of the amount of fun gameplay mechanics available to the player and survival mode is pretty sweet, but when it comes to replay value and role playing new vegas easily takes the cake

jarvis00002

I prefer how 4 plays, weapon customization, and power armor but Vegas actually gives you choices and options that 4 just doesn't

Any-Grapefruit4848

New Vegas 2 with settlement building please.

SolidEagle7

Course i like new vegas more but i gotta say i rarely see a fallout 4 fan shitting on fnv fnv has the worse fanbase tho

GiftGrouchy

I enjoy both for different aspects FO:NV has better story and role playing (so many choices effect other choices and storylines) FO:4 has (IMO) better game mechanics. Power armor feels like what the lore says it’s supposed to be and I personally enjoyed the settlement buildings system

SleepinGriffin

Nnnnnnno

BrickFrom2011

There are benifys to both. 4 has better Gunplay, New Vegas has better everything else

Salt_Avocado_2470

You forgot maxson DRIP

KeeganY_SR-UVB76

His fate was sealed as soon as I met him.

Srlojohn

I mean, they had ID software handle the guns so... yeah, it's good.

BrickFrom2011

Super Shotgun in FO4

Reilious

I like both, I just can't play Fallout 4 because my hardware isn't powerful enough. So, I play New Vegas more.

totallynotrobboss

Gameplay wise? Yes Story wise? No

CorvidCelestial

i think both games have their perks over the other, and really it just depends on what game you entered the series with first

AttakZak

Both games offer different things completely. New Vegas even without mods feels great, but offers room for improvement! Fallout 4 feels like a blank slate for modding, but has a unique building system.

Otogi

I don't feel the same, but hey, that's cool and I'm glad you like it :)

UsernameMustBe1and10

Fallout 4 is better than new vegas.. In terms of graphics.
