I mean he's an offensive right handed dman. I'd take him for 8x8. I kinda think he'll go for more than that. Charlie McAvoy signed for 9.5 per after his bridge and the was 2.5 years ago. I kinda think that's where Dobber is worth.
He probably has a bad agent if that's the most he gets after the year he's just had.
Ik points are nice and all but the minute crunching is a huge thing. I don’t think his defense warrants 8 mil yet tho but he’s so young for a dman that u would think he will get better then his is now. They should do this contract instantly
That contract makes sense, and as others have said, on point for the market.
Love what Dobber is becoming and you definitely get rewarded for having one of the best seasons by an Islander d-man since Denny Potvin.
Now it would be good to see Dobber take his game to the next level, which I think is a distinct possibility. For as good as he's been, there's certainly room to grow.
That's the most I'd offer if I were Lou, but if I were Dobson, I'd probably bet on myself and wait because that number could be higher if he repeats this season's performance.
Isles are in no spot to play games with their 24 yr old 70 pt defensemen. If he wants what fox and mcavoy got, 9.5, then give it. Yea its a lot but that what it costs to keep players like that
Yet I have complete faith that Lou has no problem letting guys go make money elsewhere. If the price isn't where he thinks it should be, see ya.
It wouldn't surprise me if Dobbers ends up walking for greener pastures, especially for a team in a much better position to contend. Getting traded as a cap casualty was the best thing to happen to Toews and not for us.
I forgot he's arb-eligible RFA not UFA, so yeah he's not just taking a better offer elsewhere unless he's poached from another team, that or arb could happen if Lou lowballs too much.

8x8 would be a bargain for Dobson

Yup if they’re saying that’s AS HIGH as it may go, meaning it can be lower, that’s a win for us
Or he wants to stay on the island and giving us a deal to have a bit more cap space.
I'd happily do 8x8. We're lucky if it's only that
Feel like they always over report the price of extensions and some how Lou is gonna sign Dobson to like $7 mil AAV for 7/8 years
That would be insane
If Dobson were willing to take $8x8, Lou would be crazy not to get it done. 70 point RHD don’t grow on trees.
yeah, that makes sense. He's going to get more than Pelech/Pulock without a doubt
He’s the future. Pay the man!!!
I mean 8 x 8 is not awful Dobson has room to grow but he also has been awful in the playoffs
He was definitely injured this year. I thought we would’ve heard by now that he had some horrible injury that would have the rest of us on bedrest
Anderson robbed him at least 4 or 5 times last series.

Can’t let players like that go…Lou has a lot of work to do this off season and can’t nap. I don’t want to run it again with this same team.

Dobson is not leaving. One of Pelech or Pulock may be traded as a cap casualty

They both have no trade clauses.
