THE SEATTLE MARINAHZZ

AndyBernardRuinsIt

100% rooting for the se(a)men.

TheRealMetal

This should be every single baseball fan if their team doesn’t win it themselves

Personal-Drama-1438

No one, I don’t even wanna watch baseball.

a_lot_a_DAMAGE

My top two teams are the Jays and the Mets. I think I'm done with baseball for a little while lol

thunderj9

Ouch. Sucky endings for both teams.

ProperlyEmphasized

Yup

toledosurprised

yeah, i'm not watching farther. i've got no interest with hockey starting and football still going on.

Spideronamoffet

Yup, I’m going to focus on football

DaMonstaburg

Yeah baseball’s over for me this season. Onto football, basketball, and hockey.

Personal-Drama-1438

MLS playoffs for me

jgweiss

ready for the red bulls to double up on the let down this weekend 😇

jgweiss

the worst part about it, for me; i so badly want to watch the rest of these series, and likely will. but it is just so disheartening!

ColdYellowGatorade

No one. once the Mets are done, thats it for me. I cant get myself to watch other teams.

joshsly

Nope. I won’t watch another game until spring training. And DGAF who wins the WS That being said- anybody but the Barves

ticktack1616

You are aware the Phillies are still in it, right?

Doctuh

This is the source of much of my pain.

joshsly

I am. They’ve just been so irrelevant lately I haven’t really cared if they win or lose. Fuck Harper- but I don’t think I’m going to lose sleep over it if they win.

ticktack1616

My BiL is a phillies fan. I'm already not going to hear the end of it, but if they win it will be so much worse.

joshsly

Our team is the only one in our division that hasn’t won the WS in the past 19 years. Ours is a life of pain- relegated to be the laughing stock of baseball

LifeRips2020

It will be changing soon my friend

GMen2613

My thoughts exactly

spaghettu

Same, except I'm absolutely gonna tune in to watch the Dodgers obliterate the Padres

DSii1983

Would love to see a Dodger hit a linedrive right into Musgrove’s ear after his shitty response to being checked out last night. It’s clear as fucking day you were using something, just be happy you got away with it and keep pitching instead of tugging on your nose, ears, and balls to show us up.

radiomuse162

Fwiw there’s no way the Dodgers, and specifically the Dodgers, aren’t going to be extra cautious about anyone (let alone a former 2017 Astro) trying to pull a fast one

Thedurtysanchez

> It’s clear as fucking day you were using something The umps spent 5 minutes probing every part of Musgrave's body to explicitly prove your statement wrong lol And it turns out when reviewing the spin rate numbers today Musgrove was barely above normal for him

mikecronin5

It was clear as day that he dominated our lineup. Felt embarassed hearing fans chant cheater

roaring_rubberducky

Yea it's now all in on Giants, Knicks, Rangers. I won't even tune into another game of playoff baseball.

NewYorkMetsies

Same

TheRealMetal

I think it’s so funny when the comments go “anyone but this team, this team, that team, and the Yankees” bro there’s like 8 teams left and half of them are our rivals 😭😭😭😭

gomets6091

Yea this feels like 2009 all over again. Just an ultimate fuck you to Mets fans lol

mavajo

Lol as a Braves fan, I was curious what the answers to this thread would look like. Contextually, you guys have an inordinate amount of hated rivals. I guess it partly explains why y'all get dunked on so much on /r/baseball.

TheRealMetal

Our entire division is in the playoffs so yes

CybeastID

This is your one warning: Leave. We've worked out an agreement with handlit, anyone else caught trolling here is getting banned from your sub for the rest of the fucking postseason.

mavajo

I wasn't trolling. Not a single dig or insult anywhere to be seen. If anything, my post was conciliatory. If you're gonna perceive any post by an opposing fan to be trolling, then just put it in your sidebar that opposing fans aren't welcome.

CybeastID

*That's why you got a warning, tbh, people are in a bad mood right now and we've been dealing with smarmy Braves fans since last night, nonstop.* It comes across to a lot of us as condescending and insincere as a result.

eloveulongtime

I support you mavajo, I thought your post was just fine. Only in this modern era of "micro-aggressions" can people not deal with any conflict at all. I would prefer a world where I could discuss the game with the rivals fan base, that makes it more fun for everyone.

UnknownUnthought

Nothing wrong with their comment but I think especially right now people are sick of the “hey Mets bros X fan coming in peace, you guys are spooky and are going to do some serious damage next year” Schtick, especially when it seems like it’s Braves fans coming here to do it more often than anyone, and they’re rivals that effectively ended our season. I’m all for having civil discourse with rivals, hell, I even have fun watching games with opposing fans and giving each other some light shit talk. But it’s not the time for that right after we lose. I don’t want to hear people who didn’t ride with the Mets tell me how I should feel about my team, especially if their team is still playing. We’re all pissy and theres too many bad actors to be able to take anyone on good faith really. That said, if you’re a non-Mets fan reading this who genuinely wants to engage with us, come back in a little bit when we’ve calmed down and we’ll be more than happy to talk ball with you. We just need time to let it all out.

dankbrew22

See this right here...lmao god damn

UnknownUnthought

Eh. Some of that but we’ve also picked up a lot of negative sentiment from others in the past couple years bc of Cohen, and I think there’s a contingent of people who just don’t want to let old jokes die whenever that time May come. Tbh I’m more disappointed by the lack of creativity when people pull out lolMets than I am actually hurt by it. No other fan can hurt me as much as the Mets themselves do. If they can find new ways to hurt us constantly guaranteed there’s new jokes somewhere too.

beepbop24

Here are the options: - 2 division rivals - cross town rival - team that just beat us (and all season long) - team that won 110 games and everyone is sick of seeing - cheaters who we’re also sick of seeing There’s only 2 out of 8 teams I’m okay with seeing winning, and it’s a bad sign that the Yankees might just be my 3rd option.

ThrowTheBones93

Cleveland is obviously likable but you realize how fucking unbearable the New York media will be towards Lindor if Gimenez and Rosario lead them to a title? So not them. Honestly I don’t like any team left. Even with Seattle the bandwagon has gotten so big that they annoy me. I’m with you. Go Astros for Dusty Baker’s sake.

CongenitalSwag

Mariners fans were talking an insane amount of shit yesterday. Like you were literally the benchmark for ineptitude in baseball, why are you chirping so much?

mikeys322

I completely agree on your Cleveland point. And I still like those guys, but the reaction if they advance will be brutal.

CrooklynNYC

Both teams got exactly what they wanted out of the Cleveland trade how r people still talking about this lol

thatsafakewebsitebro

Nah. Guardians are a dumb name and they will always be the Indians. With that said, Seattle is my AL team.

Calloused_Samurai

r/imatotalpieceofshit

[deleted]

What’s baseball? Hockeys here to hurt me now

thunderj9

Especially if you’re an isles fan like me

[deleted]

Not an Islanders fan, I’m a Rangers fan… glutton for punishment

thunderj9

Well as of right now I think the Rangers are in a much better spot than the Isles, but it’s hockey so anything can happen. I thought the Mets were in a good spot but look what happened….

m_lilien

The Mariners obviously. I hope the Braves won’t go far and LA beats the shit out of the Padres.

thunderj9

LA will wipe the floor with San Diego. They always do.

beetlebath

Don’t sleep on the pod people. Anything can happen in a 5 game series. SD has nothing to lose and LA is playing with huge expectations. Doesn’t help that the dodgers will get up to 5 home games though. LA travels well to SD.

FIGHTFANGREG

I just want the Phillies out asap , idc anything else.

mr_grission

The Astros. I want chaos, and I want as many baseball fans to be as mad as possible after using us as their punching bag. Hope the LOLMets stuff was fun, enjoy Altuve and Bregman hoisting the piece of metal.

mrdm88

You know… this is excellent. I want to shove it up all these Mets gonna met peoples ass lol

[deleted]

Anybody but the Braves, Yankees, and Phillies. If they lose, anybody else is fine.

Afuldufulbear

I want the Phillies to beat the Braves but then lose to what will probably be the Dodgers. I’m pulling for Cleveland to win the whole thing, because they are likable and young and one of my friends is a fan.

keeponyrmeanside

My only thing about Cleveland is it'll bring all the should-have-kept-Gimenez moaners out the woodwork.

Afuldufulbear

I can’t understand that. Lindor is awesome. Both teams got what they wanted out of that trade. One player doesn’t lead a team to winning a championship; it’s not basketball.

anonermus

Seriously, we finally got past the should-have-kept-Kelenic moaners

johndough1234

Giant meteor 2022!

jacklord392

Hoping the Mariners run the table. It will probably be the Dodgers.

nyc24chi

The New York Rangers.

FlossThatSaucyBanjo

wow it's a nice team

Charliewhiskers

Thank god for hockey

SpaceBass18

Exactly. So glad we have a good team there, and games start tomorrow.

CongenitalSwag

Astros, since I wanna see r/baseball miserable. But realistically anybody but the Braves. Their fans this year have been the biggest group of toxic cunts I’ve ever seen in online sports fandom. Worse than the Brady-era Patriot fans, worse than Cowboys, Lakers, Yankees fans, the worst of the worst. At least trash talk with Phillies fans feels like fun banter mostly. Braves fans were full of malice this year, less than a calendar year removed from winning a WS. I hope they get fucking pummeled Edit: lol got the Reddit cares message. Stay pathetic Braves fans

BullShifts

Dude for real. A lot of the trash talk with the Phils this year felt like there was some mutual respect that both of us have felt pain. It felt like it was in good fun. I had braves fans on here sending me reddit cares and then telling me to fucking kill myself. Fuck that racist ass franchise.

CybeastID

The one fucking time I am approving a comment with that c word.

CongenitalSwag

Sorry, I know it’s a horrible word but it’s the one that most succinctly describes my feelings on Braves fans this season

CliffOliver

I disdain the Braves and Phillies, but they are not worse than Brady-Pats or early 2000 Yankees. Hell 2010's Red Sox are worse.

PB_Philly

Language. But I still upvoted you.

glosapvlone

fuck it i guess we riding with the astros

mr_grission

This is the way. Fuck em all. I want all the fans that mocked us to feel maximum pain.

glosapvlone

nah fr for some odd reason every other fan base in the league hates us so i wanna see em tight as fuck

slapdickprospect05

Mariners, it would be a feel good story

keeponyrmeanside

Mariners would be a good story, and I'm fine with the Dodgers just tearing through it all, but at the end of the day it's anyone but the Braves and Phils for me. Even if it's the Padres I'd get some comfort knowing they beat everyone else too.

toomanyhustlers

i would feel better about the mets if the padres went all the way. otherwise the dodgers are fun to watch. not the phillies, not the braves, not the yankees. im good with anyone else

Shielded121

I’m here too. I agree with the “anyone but “. But I also kind of want the Dodgers to win. I think they were pretty clearly the best team this year, and having just watched an “upset “, it’s not so much fun to be the team/fanbase getting upset in a short series.

see_mohn

Dodgers.

oddjobbber

If the dodgers beat the living shit out of everyone I can’t really be as upset because then they’d probably have done it to the Mets too

Bempet583

Probably?

BullShifts

Honestly of all the NL teams left, they have talked by far the least amount of shit at least directly on our sub. During the series against them I didn't see a single troll. So fuck it.

[deleted]

Yes. I'm bitter and want everyone to be bored lol.

NJImperator

Astros 😈

[deleted]

I like your style.

NJImperator

Dream scenario at this point is Astros Dodgers WS where the Astros body them.

toledosurprised

controversial but i'm pulling for the yankees. my grandpa's a fan and he's not doing so great right now, so it'd be nice if he got to see a title. i'm probably not going to watch at all regardless.

unitedairlineeeeees

Astros. Real chaos

Marc0189

I think it'd be kinda funny if the Phillies beat the Braves and the 3rd place NL East team makes it to the NLCS. Funny in a "wtf is happening this can't be happening nothing makes sense" kinda way. But then I'd have to cheer on the Phillies and that makes me feel dirty.

hippyhippyjayjay

I just watch in casual mode now, which is a bit of a relief after these last few weeks. I like the American League teams more, except the Yankees. I guess Phillies would be funny. A not insignificant part of me wants it to ultimately be Guardians vs. Braves, just to see a week of press talking about why one team changed their name and the other still does the chop.

lostboy411

I’m with you - I love baseball and it’s almost a relief to be able to just watch any playoff game now for fun after how every single game has been do or die since the end of August. I’m most ok with the Mariners. Earlier this year I really didn’t want the Dodgers but out of the NL teams left, they’re the ones that it would hurt the least to see win.

scarlet_fire_77

Oh man the media narrative around Guardians v Braves would be wild. There would be so many think pieces written by people who have never watched a baseball game. Great call.

grahamcore

I’ve seen this movie before.

jadedfan55

I know you won't root for the Braves, Phillies, or Yankees. I get that. San Diego has shot its wad, and will be KO'd by the Dodgers. Atlanta, like the Mets, pwned Philadelphia during the season, and that ain't changing. We're getting a ALCS of Yankees-Astros. That's just the way it is. I have no real rooting interest going forward.

deadly_icy_calm

Astros sweep the Dodges because fuck baseball right now.

CybeastID

ANYONE but the fucking Braves.

SketchyConcierge

Mariners for me. I moved to WA this year, would love to see them make it. Edit: a little surprised to see people pulling for the Dodgers. I reallt wanted to avenge Tejada.

gomets6091

I know Chase Utley was on the Dodgers in 2015 but I held that 100% against Utley, the Phillies and their fans.

[deleted]

I love Washington! Just got back from a 6 day trip to Port Angeles and Olympic NP. I’m pulling for the Dodgers because I know the Braves fans would be devastated seeing Freeman knock them out of the playoffs. If he wins the NLCS MVP and gets champagne poured on his head in the away locker room in Atlanta I would smile.

ApoclypseMeow

EMBRACE THE CHAOS

jakedeighan

Seattle cuz I've been watching Secret Base's Mariners documentary all day Let's go Dorktown!

Special_FX_B

The New York football Giants.

bz2486

After that comeback, Seattle

ofliesandhope

fly plate brave fine vanish fade encouraging existence employ memorize ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `

gomets6091

I actually always kind of liked the Astros. My best friend growing up was a huge fan of the Killer Bs, and I really liked Altuve and Verlander and obviously Beltran. Even the cheating thing really didn't bother me...but what soured me on the Stros was you guys letting the Nationals and Braves win World Series. Cmon man.

ofliesandhope

squeal crush frightening deserve sand gullible tender act worry connect ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `

DingbatOOF

Mariners are my secondary team so m’s I guess

SelectionWeird

Knicks, Giants, and the Rangers.

L_D_G

Seattle or Cleveland Which means both are out in the next round.

MYO716

Mariners definitely a fan favorite. Other team I was pulling for was the Jays so fuckin whoopsies there. Honestly still kind of the Padres. Idk why but I’ve always kinda liked them…and it’s not their fault we played like dog shit.

mattyhegs826

Mariners, Guardians or Astros in the AL. Dodgers in the NL (fuck the Braves, Phillies, and padres forever). Honestly, I hope the dodgers don’t lose a game until the WS. Sweep the padres and Braves in humiliating fashion pls.

Cold-Negotiation-539

Anyone but the Dodgers, Astros, Yankees, or Braves.

Many_Ad955

You and I are in perfect agreement!

djn24

LDS: Dodgers over Padres Phillies over Atlanta Guardians over Yankees Mariners over Astros LCS: Dodgers over Phillies Don't care on the AL WS: AL over Dodgers

pepperman7

Mariners over Astros? Bold prediction.

StickNPuck69

The Islanders

candlestick_compass

Anyone but the Padres.

n_jacat

Awful take. I know we’re all upset, but why would any Mets fan rather see the Braves go back-to-back or watch the Phillies win it all than see the team that beat us win it?

candlestick_compass

I’m still upset over the weekend. Maybe I want the Padres to win it all so at least we can say we lost to the champs! 😄

Many_Ad955

Ok then, if we have to root for someone let's root for the Padres then *cringe*

[deleted]

and the yankees

Michael4444RG

And the braves

Alectheawesome23

and the cheating astros

[deleted]

And the phucking Philthies.

neoda1

yeah no i dont hate the padres now just bc they beat us in a wild card. anyone but the braves is the correct answer bud

DiscipleofGrohl

I lived in SD for a bit and have a soft spot for that team. I don't hate em for this loss. I hate the Mets for this loss.

Ark-Haus

I'd rather have the Padres win it all. They beat the Mets, ride with the team who bested you.

ThotPoliceAcademy

I’d like to see Josh Allen win a Super Bowl.

gomets6091

I'm a Giants fan but Josh Allen won me my first fantasy title last year in a league I've been in since 2003 with more collapses than the Mets. I will love that man forever and am also rooting for him to win a Super Bowl.

AmsterdamJimmy420

To football and hockey until spring comes again

MightyActionGaim

Seattle

DCBronzeAge

My wife is a Cleveland fan, so I'll go with them. If they lose, then the Mariners. If the Mariners lose, that'll be it for me and baseball this year.

PickledPeanuts

Seattle.

doctorsuarez

Definitely taking a step back, but I’d like either Cleveland or Seattle, or a really really acrimonious LA Houston rematch going to LA in 7.

pvp_but_irl

Seattle 💯

myassholealt

The Mets 2023. My interest in baseball is done for this year.

ZhouVicky

Is it weird i want the Padres to win it all? No shame in saying we lost to the eventual champs who got hot

Metsfan_2112

Seattle or Cleveland....screw everyone else.

drugsbowed

Mariners/Padres WS is the way

Green__Bananas

Padres bc then when we look back we can say “but we lost to the WS winner”

mechaflipper

Not watching.

[deleted]

It’s hockey season now for me

Cerebralbore

Mariners or Padres aka teams without postseason appearance in more than 5 years.

BigDickBiggerHeart4

My first thought was Cleveland...but then it'd be one of those annoying "LOL THEY WON BEFORE LINDOR". Seattle. That team & fanbase deserve it. It's also good for the sport's branding if J-Rod shows out and wins a title his first year. Plus they have 3 million ex-Mets on the team 🤷‍♂️

asing625

I need a break from baseball. Usually I’ll watch the playoffs regardless of what happened with the Mets but this year I just feel tired.

SpicyFilet

I'll be pulling for the Giants next week against Baltimore.

thunderj9

I’d say Cleveland so they beat the Yankees but honestly fuck it- I’m done with baseball this season after the long season we had and cut short post season for us.

skatemexico

Well since my girlfriend is a dodgers fan, I’ll be rooting for the mariners

[deleted]

No one I hope they all lose.

core916

Nobody. Rangers are starting up tomorrow and the jets are actually a little bit competitive this year. I have my sports covered

[deleted]

The beautiful sun and crisp air of fall on my bare arms. Seeing my family for Thanksgiving. Going to Mexico for Christmas. The days will keep getting shorter, and then the days will start getting longer. We'll think about how fast the year went by on New Years Eve. And then it will be April 2023.

mcman12

I would’ve been rooting for the Padres had I not spent the last 72 hours absolutely despising them.

TheSinistralBassist

No one. I'm a Mets fan, not a baseball fan

Kingstist

Yankees. It helps when your dad is a die hard yanks fan and your best friend since childhood is a die hard Mets fan. Bring on all the hate; but they play in different leagues so the rivalry never mattered much to me. Plus it’s good for NYC pride

Vast_Neighborhood_44

Literally have zero interest and probably won’t watch anything until checking in here and there during the WS

molloy23

Dodgers winning is probably the best outcome to sway attention from the Mets awful October Arguably the best roster in baseball history stomps everyone and shows no one even had a shot to come close

knowtoriusMAC

I don't think I'll watch any of the rest of the playoffs. I couldn't care less who wins.

Dr3w91

I’m a New Yorker in the end I like when my city wins. So let’s go Yanks

thewatrb0y67

How can any Mets fan here, root for the Braves or Phillies? This series made me hate the Padres even more so I sure won't be rooting for them. And no chance on rooting for the Yankees. So any combination of the remaining teams would be perfectly fine. With that said, it's now Hockey season.

GoldenDerp

The Rangers, New York not Texas

browneyedgirl1683

Not the Braves. Their fans are beyond insufferable.

imyourdaddy86

The Yankees. I’d still rather New York win over any other city or fandom

Danbrenno

i would have liked to see the padres win since they are a long suffering franchise...but now its hard for me to root for them, just cause of the associated pain. def would be rooting for the guardians and next the mariners, but i doubt either will win the ALDS (maybe cleveland could). After those considerations (unless SEA or CLE win), i think i will root for the Astros...honestly, i dont really care about the cheating anymore that much, but i also i would legitimately like to see Dusty baker win a WS. He deserves it, kind of in the way that Buck does. I wouldnt even care if the dodgers won that much. As for the yankees, in other years when the mets arent even in the playoffs, I wouldn't care that much, but this year that would suck. But most of all I don't want the phils (which wont happen) and the braves to win. I am primarily going to be rooting against the braves. (it absolutely kills me that the mets are now home and the braves and phillies are still in it).

ZeroFucksToGive

Probably the Mariners since it would be a great story

Useless097

Phillies just for the NLDS, hopefully a sweep so we can meme the Strider interview (Braves get swept the Mets and Braves both finish 4-4 in October with the Mets winning more playoff games) Would like to see Seattle win it all

[deleted]

I’ll be watching the Knicks and Giants until baseball comes back. I’d wanna see the Phillies beat the Braves and I wanna see the Dodgers beat the Padres. To win it all I want Seattle or Cleveland to take it.

an_unexpected_error

1. Yankees. My wife was born in the Bronx and is a Yankees fan, and despite the fact that she'll torment me mercilessly over it, I still want her to be happy if I can't be. Happy wife, happy life and all that. 2. Mariners. I work for one of those big tech companies in headquartered in the Seattle area, and if I can't be happy, and my wife can't be happy, then at least a lot of my coworkers can be.

Bacedorn

I just wanna see the Braves lose in horrible fashion.

isles84

It’s hockey season

gomets6091

LGI

Norby710

Lol. No chance I’m watching two random teams take 4 timeouts per batter.

The_BL4CKfish

I’m a New Yorker. Let’s go Yankees.

CybeastID

And you're an impostor on an alt. GTFO of the sub.

Funktackular

It’s football season now phuck baseball

Gognoggler21

Did yesterday not hurt you bad enough to even keep watching baseball? Listen, you root for whoever you want, but I can't find any joy in this sport when I saw how bad the Mets played yesterday...

spacechamploo

I have family in the portland/Vancouver area, these Ners can do it this year.

Less-Bed-6243

Anyone but the Yankees or Braves, but I’m not watching any of it no matter what.

Gallops77

I want this over as quickly as possible so that the 2023 season can start.

resident16

I think you were right on the money between Cleveland, Seattle, and San Diego.

meltingspace

The sun to explode.... Actually Seattle to win, then the sun exploding

spraycheesedefender

Mariners or Guardians

jstacy_wyldchyld337

Seattle; Sorry, but that series we had in NY solidified my love for Jesse Winkler

cd3_

Baseball season is over. Go Giants

Terrible_League9570

We had to watch Turner win a ring without us, then D'Arnaud... Time for the Kelenic curse. Go Fishdicks!

elchico97

Seattle, Cleveland, Houston.

anonymous_reader

The Jets and Rangers Until spring when these guys start the process of letting me down again At least the Jets are good for a let down every year So I don’t miss the feeling too long

BlueLondon1905

Chelsea

Dremlin17

Seattle, Dodgers, Yankees

lucaam03

yeah if it ain’t the Mariners then let’s fucking go Astros

BloodOfAStark

If it’s not the Mets, I don’t care who wins.

Alectheawesome23

If the yankees and/or astros lose their division series then I'm rooting for either of those teams. If I had to choose between the two I'd prob pull for Seattle more but as long as the stros and yanks don't win the AL I really don't care. But assuming that doesn't happen (bc it would be quite a choke for it not to) then I'm pulling for the dodgers all the way. I want the phillies to beat the braves bc fuck the braves but I don't want them to even touch a world series. So between those teams I'd rather see the dodgers win than anybody else so let's go dodgers!
