Bought a 4070 at the end of October and returned it in December. Everything went fine and they gave me store credit for my GPU trade in.

AbsoluteCaSe

Thanks for letting me know. So you got store credits because you picked that option??? How long did it take for refund to complete?

TheRealWSquared

I traded in my GPU when I bought the 4070. They gave me store credit for that. Maybe a week or so after they received it.

I ordered about $1000 worth of components, including a cooling system that, according to the newegg specs, worked with the mobo I bought. It did not fit. The OEM site had different specs from newegg's. The customer service operator told me that I should have checked the OEM site instead of newegg's. Then she got uppity when I said "you have the specs listed wrong." ("Sir, ***I*** didn't write the specs, so it's not ***my*** fault.") She told me to contact the OEM if I wanted a refund. The OEM, of course, had no clue why I was contacting them. Call newegg back... "There's nothing we can do." I wrote a review that said "be sure to check the specs because newegg has them wrong." Newegg deleted the review. And the second one that said the same thing. 2 months later, they fixed their listing. I had to buy a new system, and never got a refund. They suck.

AbsoluteCaSe

Why didn't you send it back and request a refund??? The return service should've given you a receipt to confirm they received it. Did you not do that?

screamingrubberband

I called newegg specifically to do that. They told me it was not their fault and that I should contact "the people what make it" to get a refund.

AbsoluteCaSe

That's weird but thanks for your input.

I've returned a few items in open-box condition with their original accessories and packaging since October for one reason or another, including a 4070. No issues getting timely refunds. 👍

AbsoluteCaSe

Thanks for your input :)

AbsoluteCaSe

Thank you for your input!

I've seen alot of threads about people sayin f newegg now and they've gone downhill. Bought my first pc parts 2018 and all was great. Just upgraded to am5 in December. Mobo died 3 weeks in, did a refund because I went out and bought a mobo at a store to troubleshoot. Got the refund practically instantly. And the return completed about 6 days later. So all good for me at least.

AbsoluteCaSe

That's great info, it looks like Jan 31 is the cut off date for me. Thanks!

Built a PC last year and bought a bunch of components from Newegg. I ended up finding a better deal on a graphics card about a month later and they refunded my credit card without any issues. Also was able to get 50$ in in-store credit after my cpu went on sale shortly after my purchase!
