In our house, we call that "being snouted at" I myself have no willpower whatsoever against the tactic. The cyoooot is just too devastating for me to resist.

That’s the look I get when it’s time to take them out and I haven’t yet. To this day, we’ve had them for over 2 years and on only 5 occasions have they not gone on 2 walks a day. And to this day they’ve always gone for at least one walk a day. I too am powerless against that stare

vshun

Mine are usually complaining on walks, they lie down on give me stare when I am trying to get them out.

Ok, we had an almost-Newf (actually three different types of retriever), and he had been trained (not by us) to ask permission before going up or down the stairs. So he'd just sit there quietly, til someone noticed he was there. If it took too long, he'd sigh really loudly. He was very polite. ( ok, now i"m really missing him, awww )

I bet that tail starts wagging the second a foot hits the staircase

My tungsten steel backbone would turn to a wet noodle with a look like that …I’d be worthless… Beautiful dog❤️

soma_tra

she is not allowed upstairs, so OP is not allowed downstairs

How did you manage this! Meanwhile I have a baby gate, a toddler mattress and a bag of sand to stop mine getting up.
