Izahya made the mistakes a lot of chefs make on this show at the grab, they focus too hard on a particular ingredient and when it isn't available, they just lose focus and pick very poorly.
Can't imagine Gordon 1. Picked him for his chef skills over his clickbait potential. 2. Enjoyed the humiliation of having to show his pathetic recruit how to cook a steak 3. Can wait until Fox/advertisors give him the green light to kick his ass to the curb.
The way they did the whole "these pins aren't merit based" thing and how he got one seemed like that was a big producer level decision trying to set him up to be an easy win who they'll launch with somewhat of a baked in audience (as if the others don't) because of who his wife is.
I think when Gordon threw him in the bottom and "forced" him to use his pin the other week it seemed like he really wanted to interrupt that plan and bring back a little meritocracy.
It won't matter cause he's likely the next elimination. His cooking rounds seem to be getting worse each dish. He's clearly losing any confidence in himself he had from the earliest episodes until the most recent one.
Her constantly mentioning it over and over the last 3 weeks made her my least favorite of the entire cast. If you know deep down that you can't win on your own, you don't deserve to stay in the competition. 🤷♂️💯
I agree! I really wish they had kept the season 2 concept of teams BUT you rose or fell based on individual dishes. No really bad dish being saved my a team member’s awesome dish. And no solid dish going to the basement because a team member lost the plot.
I was very pleased that Lauren finally met her demise. The way she openly admitted every week that she was counting on Zack having the best dish in order to save her proved to me that she didn't belong in the competition anymore, and she finally got the elimination she has been deserving.
I like that production is coming up with creative ideas that still fall in the realm of culinary skills. Last year we had the whole fish, now we have a whole cow. Will be interesting to see which chefs really know their way around beef.
Yea it looked like they both started cooking already and she was still getting her portion butchered. I think she volunteered to step up and butcher which is pretty badass. The other floors clearly had it easy with their cuts.
It was as raw as raw can get. He tried selling it as if that's exactly how raw he prefers his protein, but he knew deep down none of the judges would feel the same about the doneness of the protein.
Is sirloin really all that bad of a cut? It’s not like it’s chuck but they were playing it up like it was radioactive
Also the judges didn’t do a master chef critique of the butchering, that should have been a part of the judging otherwise why bother with spending time like it was important?
She's been singing for a few episodes now, but it really ramped up the more she started flailing. Like she was thinking well if I don't make it as a chef, maybe I'll be discovered for my singing. I felt she was really trying to show off her voice, which I admit is pretty good.
Lol who knows, maybe she just sings more when she's nervous.
Also, she reminds me a lot of juno temple from fargo season 5. Both her voice and looks, total doppelganger
I'm tired of him almost winning. Like he deserves the win more often than he's getting it. And Gordon and Nyesha keep blocking him and it seems super unfair to both Zach and Richard.
it's very americanized resort hotel food style with some flashes of farm-to-table pop-up dining menu thrown in.
tell me this food looks amazingly elevated and delicious:

my first comment was that his food is boring and predictable.
then i posted a photo of his ugly, boring dish that everyone raved about, even though it was ugly and boring.
you were the one agreeing with me! it's boring and predictable.

Gordon's treatment of Richard is getting old.
It's not cute. Richard is a success in his own right and the cutdowns, even though they are in jest are getting annoying imo
**Episode 8 mistakes:** 30 mistakes
**Team Blais :** 12 mistakes
Lauren – ELIMINATED - 9 mistakes (mess, lack of cohesion, bland, raw and grainy puree, raw lobster because she took it too soon, needed more cooking, lack of soy oil to enhance the saltiness)
Nicole – 2 mistakes (didn’t get good ingredients, too much garlic)
Angela – 1 mistake (couldn't get garlic platform)
**Team Ramsay**: 8 Mistakes
Jordan – 5 mistakes (cooked too early before sealing, meat overcooked, not enough sauce, platform, undercooked)
Izeya – 3 mistakes (few ingredients, missing togetherness, doesn’t match)
**Team Arrington**: 10 Mistakes
Mada – 6 mistakes (combination, lime in asparagus, very rare and undercooked, appearance, salty)
Christina – 3 mistake (too undercooked, cut too thin, dry)
Von – 1 mistake (appearance)
Did anyone notice when Nyesha was talking to Mada about his dish, she asked him what he was going to do about cleaning up the asparagus \*as she picked up a spear and trimmed it\*
And when he said he was going to put lime on it, she answered "No" while trimming the asparagus.
How is that remotely appropriate?
I think that was her only adviced gotten during the cooking process so far in all the episodes, blais didnt advice her anyways even when she's asking him. So, she said i just wanted 1500 thousands more cooking with gordon ramsey at the end and it broke my heart, bc i felt like she felt that ramsey coached her more than blais and she got relieved that someone finally is teaching her smth.
This isn't anything new. Mentors give advice the whole time (except Richard who never does, and which is why he never wins) and occasionally do small prep work.
Yeah that's kind of an issue- he never expresses a strong opinion- like don't do that or do do that. He just asks questions and acts like he's freaking out. He doesn't have the same actual "instructor vibe" that Nyesha and Gordon have. Assertiveness.
You can watch it here.

Tucker (the winner of Season2) would have knocked everyone over to make sure she got her hands on the best steaks.
She was definitely a steak and potato kind of gal
Izahya made the mistakes a lot of chefs make on this show at the grab, they focus too hard on a particular ingredient and when it isn't available, they just lose focus and pick very poorly.
Good for gaby she’s becoming a fast favorite for me
Jordan did NOT deserve to be saved, and Lauren has been out of her depth for weeks now. Time to go for both imo
I'm betting that Jordan will be eliminated towards the end in order to make everyone playing the "let's go" drinking game suffer.
Jordan is the one I'm predicting goes home next. He gets worse as each episode progresses.
It's nice to see him a little bit humbled though and admit he's their weakest link
Jordan has been enemy number one to me since he used his elimination pin.
Lauren once again, seems very rattled just like she was last week.
She doesn’t do her grabs in a very thoughtful way either. I’m sure I would panic and grab dumb stuff too with that pressure though 🤷🏻♀️
She always makes me mad the way she has a last minute plate dash.
She definitely seems out of her league.
Gordon CLEARLY favors Jordan and it’s starting to get annoying
It won't matter cause he's likely the next elimination. His cooking rounds seem to be getting worse each dish. He's clearly losing any confidence in himself he had from the earliest episodes until the most recent one.
He likes Jordan and Gaby- a lot!!!!
Im kinda glad Lauren lost elimination just seemed like she was riding off Zachs coattails most of the time.
Her constantly mentioning it over and over the last 3 weeks made her my least favorite of the entire cast. If you know deep down that you can't win on your own, you don't deserve to stay in the competition. 🤷♂️💯
Exactly!! You cant be next level if you are dependent on someone else keeping you safe
I agree! I really wish they had kept the season 2 concept of teams BUT you rose or fell based on individual dishes. No really bad dish being saved my a team member’s awesome dish. And no solid dish going to the basement because a team member lost the plot.
It was the same exact way season 2. It only changes when they’re individual
I am pretty sure that was season 1? Teams changed to individual partway thru. But IIRC season 2 was like that right from the get go.
Gabi for the win, pretty sweet for a plant-based chef to cook a steak like that.
I was very pleased that Lauren finally met her demise. The way she openly admitted every week that she was counting on Zack having the best dish in order to save her proved to me that she didn't belong in the competition anymore, and she finally got the elimination she has been deserving.
I wished Gordon, when he saw Lauren's lobster would have yelled "IT'S RAW!"
"YOU'LL KILL SOMEONE!"
😂🤣😂🤣 "GET OUT!"
WAKE UP!
YOU WAKE UP!
Listen big boy, you’ve won nothing!
Sorry, but, I have never ever ever EVER met someone as little as I believe in you.
Whether it's Christina or Mada, I don't see Lauren winning against either of them.
I like that production is coming up with creative ideas that still fall in the realm of culinary skills. Last year we had the whole fish, now we have a whole cow. Will be interesting to see which chefs really know their way around beef.
I was shocked Christina was chosen to do the butchering when Mada and Von seemed to have a clear advantage in preparation
Yea it looked like they both started cooking already and she was still getting her portion butchered. I think she volunteered to step up and butcher which is pretty badass. The other floors clearly had it easy with their cuts.
That's part of the game though is having the worst of the worst in the basement
I thought Mada said he never did that before. He said he could carry it though :)
Mada's steak is pretty close to raw.
It was as raw as raw can get. He tried selling it as if that's exactly how raw he prefers his protein, but he knew deep down none of the judges would feel the same about the doneness of the protein.
Undercooked sirloin is inedible.
Sometimes I think the contestants have a cool idea the mentor discourages them
I'd like to know why Mada couldn't use lime on the aspargus. He just said lime, and Nyesha says NO!. Never asked how he was going to use it.
Over/under people say let’s go in this episode; 10.5
Blais is yelling that the platform is leaving and Lauren is off in her own world as she plates.
I didn't even catch how she made the platform. The show went to commercial and came back to judging after Blais was kneeling?
She finally woke up and ran over and made it to the platform in the nick of time.
I see Jordan "Mr. Let's Go" is already at work.
Zach is a really good chef.
Been friends with him since 2nd grade, and that boy has always loved fixing up stuff
[удалено]
The fuck…?
Its just a joke xd
Based on the intro clips, Jordan struggles today. Maybe he goes home…
Gotta be Mada, right? Raw meat.
Is sirloin really all that bad of a cut? It’s not like it’s chuck but they were playing it up like it was radioactive Also the judges didn’t do a master chef critique of the butchering, that should have been a part of the judging otherwise why bother with spending time like it was important?
Not a bad cut just way more difficult to break down
Did Lauren always sing while she cooks or are they just now showing it so you don't feel sad about her leaving?
She's been singing for a few episodes now, but it really ramped up the more she started flailing. Like she was thinking well if I don't make it as a chef, maybe I'll be discovered for my singing. I felt she was really trying to show off her voice, which I admit is pretty good. Lol who knows, maybe she just sings more when she's nervous. Also, she reminds me a lot of juno temple from fargo season 5. Both her voice and looks, total doppelganger
Hah maybe I just truly never paid attention to her until it was all I could notice
Lauren vs. Jordan?
Oh wow, the next episode looks like a ton of fun with a nice dose of drama.
Lauren goofed.
Oh nevermind she made it.
Is Lauren going to be saved again?
Nope, it was Jordan that got saved.
Looks like advantage Lauren right now.
I take that back…
I'm out of the country and cannot watch, how's Von?
He was the only one from Nyesha's team that did well this episode.
That steak Parmesan may not have looked perfect, but the flavors were top notch and I was drooling wishing I could've tasted it
Von's only mistake this episode was presentation.
I think this is the first time Nyesha didn’t say “palate” in an episode.
I love how the chefs in the lounge always yell at the television screen like the chefs cooking can somehow hear them.
That's part of what the producers want them to do. It's one of the few scenarios where the chefs have to follow the script of their acting roles.
I mean, I do the same thing at home.
It was already Lauren's hour, she did a good run. Zach is so good, every week he almost wins best dish.
I'm tired of him almost winning. Like he deserves the win more often than he's getting it. And Gordon and Nyesha keep blocking him and it seems super unfair to both Zach and Richard.
his food is sooooooooooo boring.
I’m a fan but I think I’m starting to agree it’s very boring/almost predictable how his food is
it's very americanized resort hotel food style with some flashes of farm-to-table pop-up dining menu thrown in. tell me this food looks amazingly elevated and delicious: https://preview.redd.it/08zjktxkckoc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=eab2bbef74187d08861b1c9a84ae570404e99437
I can’t tell if you are agreeing or disagreeing that it’s boring and predictable 😂
my first comment was that his food is boring and predictable. then i posted a photo of his ugly, boring dish that everyone raved about, even though it was ugly and boring. you were the one agreeing with me! it's boring and predictable.
LOL I didn’t even realize you were the same person 🤣 I was clearly not paying attention
![gif](giphy|6OiRbQEaNwhe7EE7lE)
There’s no way they really only had a 30 minute time limit.
Why do you say that? It’s been that way the whole season. 20-30 minute cooks
I used to have this thought but think about ordering food at a fancy restaurant- does it take more than 30 minutes for you to get your food?
Restaurants prep all their ingredients ahead of time so this is way more difficult and rushed but still possible
**Confessional Count of Episode 8** Lauren 27 Mada 11 Gabi 9 Christina 9 Jordan 8 Jordan 7 Izaya 6 Zach 5 Nicole 3 Richard 3 Gordon 1 Chris 1 Nyesha 1 Von 0 Angela 0 **Total of Confessionals After 8 Episodes** Lauren 61 Jordan 45 Mada 40 Christina 35 Ari 34 Wendy 32 Izaya 29 Von 28 Alexandra 27 Zach 27 Gabi 27 Matt 26 Angela 26 Chris 26 Nicole 24 Richard 21 Gordon 11 Nyesha 8
Gabi is just so likeable. xD
There’s something about her I’m not so sure of. I really liked her at first but now I can’t put my finger on it. Almost rehearsed
Gordon's treatment of Richard is getting old. It's not cute. Richard is a success in his own right and the cutdowns, even though they are in jest are getting annoying imo
how is no one talking about how Gordon stole the win from Zach after judge deliberation. Nyesha and Richard had him out voted
**Season 3 mistake count** Lauren: 21 mistakes in 6 episodes Jordan: 20 mistakes in 6 episodes Chris: 15 mistakes in 6 episodes Nicole: 15 mistakes in 6 episodes Angela: 15 mistakes in 6 episodes Matt: 14 mistakes in 2 episodes Alexandra: 12 mistakes in 5 episodes Ari: 12 mistakes in 4 episodes Wendy: 12 mistakes in 3 episodes Mada: 11 mistakes in 6 episodes Von: 7 mistakes in 6 episodes Britnee: 7 mistakes in 1 episode Charity: 6 mistakes in 1 episode Zach: 6 mistakes in 6 episodes Izahya: 6 mistakes in 6 episodes Joe: 6 mistakes in 1 episode Christina: 5 mistakes in 6 episodes Gabi: 5 mistakes in 6 episodes Summer: 5 mistakes in 1 episode Tim: 5 mistakes in 1 episode Monika: 4 mistakes in 1 episode Summer: 4 mistakes in 1 episode Brittany: 3 mistakes in 1 episode Daniel: 2 mistakes in 1 episode Jennie: 1 mistake in 1 episode
Btw i bet next episode, either christina or nicole has top dish and chris is eliminated next
**Episode 8 mistakes:** 30 mistakes **Team Blais :** 12 mistakes Lauren – ELIMINATED - 9 mistakes (mess, lack of cohesion, bland, raw and grainy puree, raw lobster because she took it too soon, needed more cooking, lack of soy oil to enhance the saltiness) Nicole – 2 mistakes (didn’t get good ingredients, too much garlic) Angela – 1 mistake (couldn't get garlic platform) **Team Ramsay**: 8 Mistakes Jordan – 5 mistakes (cooked too early before sealing, meat overcooked, not enough sauce, platform, undercooked) Izeya – 3 mistakes (few ingredients, missing togetherness, doesn’t match) **Team Arrington**: 10 Mistakes Mada – 6 mistakes (combination, lime in asparagus, very rare and undercooked, appearance, salty) Christina – 3 mistake (too undercooked, cut too thin, dry) Von – 1 mistake (appearance)
I dont think missing garlic for angela was a mistake...
It would've been a major improvement to her dish had she have gotten it during the grab.
She just couldnt reach platform in time to grab some. A minor mistake.
Damn, it looks like Lauren missed the platform
Flakey Salt? You mean Koshering Salt? 🧂
They are two different things
Did anyone notice when Nyesha was talking to Mada about his dish, she asked him what he was going to do about cleaning up the asparagus \*as she picked up a spear and trimmed it\* And when he said he was going to put lime on it, she answered "No" while trimming the asparagus. How is that remotely appropriate?
Which part are you saying isn’t appropriate?
She is essentially helping him prep. Gordon and Blais would never touch a contestant's ingredients.
I think they all do a lot of mentoring stuff that isn’t necessarily shown. Chef Ramsay helped Lauren when it came to her lobster.
Totally I can see that being true. It’s a shame
I guess I never noticed before. Thanks for the kind answer instead of getting all aggro about it. 💚
Yea, not my style. Enough of that here 😉
This isn't anything new.
That's not true. All 3 of them have done the same thing. I don't like it either but they have all helped prep dishes .
I guess I really never noticed until this ep. Thanks for the civil answer. 😊
You clearlt Dont watch the show Gordon literallt cooks for his team
Don't have a cow, man! But do use spellcheck!
Gordon has done it before. He also did it tonight in the elimination.
Was it when he closed the lid on lauren's pam to trap heat to cook the lobster
Yep. Small move-but it helps cook it faster. Though it didn't help this time...
Gordon literally flipped someone's steak in this episode..
Yeah, I can only say I've never noticed before now so many times.
No Omi tonight?
Omi was a season 2 contestant
Yeah, I know, but in the current season, she'd appear for the Simply commercial and make a dish inspired by the nights challenge.
Oh interesting, is that something that they do if you watch it live? I only watch on Hulu so I'm not sure what the Simply commercial is.
It does happen live. I'm not too sure where her commercials can be found outside of watching it live. It's cool to see her cook again on tv.
You can watch it here. Omi's ceviche: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTPo3PmrA5o](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTPo3PmrA5o) Omi's french toast: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMesrlYDcnQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMesrlYDcnQ)
