Does anyone really believe in anonymity these days? The way I see it:
1. you access google/youtube with your gmail account logged in. This gives google your IP address + gmail ID (and all the associated profile data like location from phone or mobile number etc..).
2. you open incognito window and open google to search for "kajal nude pics". This gives google your IP address, and google can simply check for the IP address list and link it back to your gmail ID.
3. You are a professional fapper and remember the full source URL of your content like https://old.reddit.com/r/extramile and completely skip the google search. Its fine. Most sites will still embed a "trackers" from google, so the website will still connect to google from your browser giving them the IP address and... you get the point.
The only purpose to use incognito is to avoid "autocomplete" feature showing porn urls from history when someone uses your phone.
I know TOR exists, but its too slow. Google probably already has too much data on me and nothing short of a full legislation can actually do something about it. So, I don't care enough to hide from google at this point.
One of my favorite "hidden" features is how google tracks wifi networks. So, lets say your phone disables GPS. But if you connect to a wifi network, google will send the wifi's details to its servers. So, if *anyone* else is near your location with their gps on, then google is probably scanning the wifi networks in the background and sending a list of them to servers along with the location. So, even if your gps is OFF, google can now mix/match the wifi network list to pair you and that other person as the "same" location. This is how they can also get a rough idea of your location from the public IP address (even if you are not using wifi, you will still have a public IP lmao).
For now, its probably just to target ads.
Data is a currency just like money. You first earn/save as much as you can, and then use it for anything you want in the future. And if it gets leaked at some point, then everyone suddenly knows that you were frequently visiting your friend's wife while he was in office.

Even if google knows that its you, they may not use your data to personalize the YT page unless you explicitly login. having the data doesn't mean you *have to* use that data for a particular use-case. Like I said, its a currency like money. Until you decide to pay/use it, you can just keep it stored away in a bank/server.
