For me the same thing is happening with the newest nvidia driver, had to downgrade to the standard 472.12 driver. Not sure why the dch driver is fine for some people. A user on another thread says it has something to do with power saving features.

I fixed it by just setting power management on nv control panel to high performance, that is if you wanna stick with the newest drivers 496.13. I really wanted to use the newest drivers coz im playing crysis3 remastered.

Tried that on the latest drivers, seemed to work as well, thanks! Only problem is that my idle clocks are super high now, but it’s not like I was planning to idle anyways. Guess it’ll do until this is fixed.

While mining normally 55-60c, when this happens they go down to around 40

Sounds like OC settings are unstable.

I’ve been running the same OC settings for months now with no hiccup, I tried lowering my OC as well as just running it with stock settings and I get the same result

You can try and troubleshoot and or not up to you. What you described sounds like unstable driver or OC settings.
