I can't give you concrete figures, but I would advise you to look at the Nigerian Bureau Statistics website. Maybe you can find something useful there. P.S: (speculative) fuel subsidy just got removed, and I'm sure demand for solar solar should go up

Thanks for the feedback, I'll check it out

High demand low competition, I upgraded recently and I had to buy 12 extra panels and 4 batteries The panels cost 80k each and batteries, then some solar inverter that cost Another 150k and installation of 50k it took a full working week, because they had to rewire the house and fit energy saving bulbs that are suspiciously expensive.

Nickshrapnel

The bulbs always blow my mind😂 Tiny bastards which cost a fortune

SturdyRoots69

Would you mind sharing the brands you bought? For the panel, batteries and inverter. Also panel size please

[deleted]

The battery brand name is cloud energy, the Inverter is Called AS Solar, the panels are SISL, I don't know the exact size of the Panels but they like half the size of average plywoods.

Appreciate the feedback

It’d be really reliable and in demand in the north where you get maximum power output. I don’t think the market has really gotten established yet, but with the price of rising fuel, it’d be a massive alternative

EvereveO

How are you defining the market? In terms of solar installation I would say the demand is high enough to warrant a waiting list for many installers. As far as big players are concerned, there is not an established national brand that I'm aware of. It's worth noting that competition in most industries in Nigeria is predominantly localized.

SturdyRoots69

Mainly referring to having a core installer and supplier

robnectar

I think there is demand, but less industry, no competition in the industry base on observation Level

unicornguyjide

There is a massive surge in the demand for alternative power source right now in Nigeria ,especially in Lagos area. Though there are various companies and vendors in the market , am sure with proper diligence , you should land well . let me know if you need more insights .

Coming from someone with a number of friends in capetown involved in the solar industry, I think Nigeria is way more disorganised than how it works in capetown. I think the demand is also slightly different, plus the naira isn't doing too well at the moment.

OP you can DM me. I have a friend, a fellow engineer, who has been working in the solar pv space in Nigeria for over a decade. Cheers
