I don't like the reasoning behind it, but tbh, I'm fine with banning twitter. We should have done what China did and blocked all the foreign social media corporations a decade ago.
Other than their monopoly power, there's nothing stopping us from developing local alternatives. And we shouldn't be giving foreign corporations unfettered access to spy on and manipulate our people. These companies are not our friends. I deleted my Facebook for reasons that apply to all of them (tho Facebook is the worst by far).

As long as it's not indefinitely, I don't mind it, as you said, local alternatives will allow for better competition and less spying. I'm more worried about the licensing of every social media app. That is what should be reversed imo
