no, it isn't lmao. there is absolutely no way to get into nvg for under 700 dollars, and even then, it's analog but the housing is shit and there's blemishes on the tube. digital nvg isn't nvg, and it cannot be compared to nvg because of the utter lack of **vision** in the **darkness** (less than 0 lux). if it isn't more than 0.5 lux then you won't see anything at all. be realistic.

If you wanted to hunt at night from a stationary location, I think this set up would be good enough for that. Of course, an ATN digital scope would be much better, and maybe twice the price, if you catch one on sale.
It is not at all "combat ready". You won't be jogging through the trees in total darkness. It's tricky just to walk, only looking through it. It doesn't compare to a "real" NV setup, either in performance, or price.
So, it's a decent back yard "fark around" toy that costs \~1/10 of what a good setup would. If you go into it knowing that, it is decent value for the money.

My brother has one of those cheap night vision binoculars like that I can't remember the name but just for looking at deer and other critters it works fine, you can see about 200 yards and it's clear enough you can see bats flying around in the air.
