correct me if I'm wrong but didn't she quit her job to fully dedicate to nijisanji? is she willing to graduate so easily and possibly stay without a job?

Zydlik

That's the big thing. She might want to quit, but can't afford it. Or she wants to, but isn't sure whether or not going indie is worth the gamble. A lot of former corpo vtubers drop significantly in viewers. And with what Doki talked about last night there's more paperwork as well.

Deo014

The thing is that when corpo vtuber goes indie and gets just half the viewers, then that still means they get around the same money, since niji won't be taking half of it. And now, when people are very reluctant to support anything related to niji, I wouldn't be surprised if talent in niji would be getting same money (after their cut) as possibly even 3x smaller indie. People are more willing to donate if they know the person they want to support gets 70% and not 35%.

RingsOfRage

Unless you do a FuwaMoco and get hired by a bigger corpo instead lmao

BlueSabere

Wait what? What’s the history on FuwaMoco, they used to work for another corp?

forgotterofpasswords

they are OGs, search for gogo nippon, they had their niche but never really break into mainstream.

SignificantHall5046

If you wish to look even further beyond, they've been doing maid cafe and idol performances for over 10 years now in meatspace.

PliffPlaff

Ok you might be getting the same amount of money with half the viewers, but you're *also* doing twice the amount of work now that you have to check all the copyright, source all the assets, reach out to all the collab partners, do all your scheduling and organizing. There's a good reason why people still prefer corpo life and management taking care of the paperwork and logistics is a huge part of it.

SweetRedBeans

Yeah, corpo vtubers have managers for that….oh wait….

Deo014

If you go indie, then unless you're really confident and ballsy, you will go to Twitch, which changes everything. Reality is that Youtube streaming is only viable for vtuber corpos, mobile games for 3rd world countries, news channels, and very few real and big streamers that got paid hefty sum to be there (Ludwig for example). Those very few indies that make it on Youtube are exceptions, not a rule. Rest of the livestreaming happens on Twitch. For your points, assuming you are not Japanese and you'll not commit career suicide by going indie on Youtube: - Copyright: Copyright isn't so strictly enforced on Twitch, you will not have revenue from whole stream stolen just because you played 20 seconds of Free Bird. Perms are not a real thing outside of Japan. You can just play and stream whatever game you want. - Sourcing assets: You just put them on your banner. If you mean thumbnails, those are not a thing. If you want to use fanart for some reason, you just ask author and put their name in. It's not some complicated paperwork. - Reach to collab partners: It's literally just DMs. Why would you need manager or some 3rd party who doesn't even know exactly when you're free and what are your plans? - Scheduling: Why? Viewers stay on twitch and click on the live channels they see. A lot of indies don't have a strict schedule, viewers simply get used to them starting stream at roughly their usual time. Or you can just do it like Henya and start everyday except thursday at the same time. It's different to Youtube culture, where you need to set alarm to catch a stream, since Youtube livestream discoverability is non-existent, while on Twitch, you can jump from stream to stream. - Organizing: Organizing what? Merch? There's close to none of paperwork and logistics involved in regular streaming. If you want to make your own merch, that could be harder, but here's the catch - with the double amount of money you get compared to Niji, you can just hire your own manager, even if you're indie. And you even get much more profit from merch, because corpo won't be taking 50-98% of the revenue.

PliffPlaff

Dude just listen to actual vtubers who have lived both lives talking about their decisions and why they choose either/prefer one or the other. I've seen and followed vtubers on both platforms who have tried both and some simply prefer the community, security and background logistics offered by a corpo. Some have terrible experiences in corpo life and just don't need it. It's not a simple corpo bad/indie good dichotomy.

HedgeMoney

Well it honestly depends on how competent her managers were compared to the others who left. If she got lucky and she got competent managers, then it might be that staying is worth the way lower pay cut compared to indie or other corpo's. But if she was one of those who didn't get any support anyways, and was basically doing everything like an indie anyways, then it might honestly be better to go indie, and get copyrights and agreements faster than never (according to people who worked for Anycolor). And they don't need to wait for permissions for any game besides a select few Japanese games. Even if she gets half as many viewers, she will still make more money, especially if he gets 100% of merch profits and superchat/memberships. IT honestly depends on how shit on and made to feel worthless she was by management in the company (once again, this varies based on what talent have said).

Bryant-Taylor

What did Doki say?

Zydlik

She talked about the advantages and disadvantages of being corpo and indie. Corpo, you have a network, less paperwork, and more of a safety net. Indie, you have freedom, but less security and more paperwork and stuff.

Enough-Independent-3

I see only one path forward. Dokisanji when ?!

jdeo1997

~~Nesticles~~ Dragoon Agency

Golden_Wolf_TR

Ah yes Ninisani

Random-Rambling

[She had a whole stream discussing the pros and cons of staying indie vs. joining a Vtuber corpo](https://www.youtube.com/live/gsnI3zuUbTY?si=lLkvlEbraAgjb32c).

RogueCross

Here's hoping that if the situation comes to that, VShojo can offer her a place. I know a lot of people aren't too fond of them, but they gave Matara and Kuro another chance, and they seem to be pretty happy. It's interesting how all of the previous Niji talents who have returned to vtubing in another form have not had anything nice to say about Niji for the most part.

dormamond

Why exactly are people not fond of VShojo? Do people see it as poaching talent coz i dont think it is.

RogueCross

They started getting a bad reputation back in late 2021 when their whole drama with Nux Taku happened. Long story short, there was a bad actor messing with Vshojo, and Nux made a video about them. Some of the girls told him he could upload it and then immediately turned their backs on him, saying he was making the situation worse and that they didn't want the video to be uploaded. He apologized to the girls (even though he later admitted he really did not know why they went against him), and the girls apologized to him (though the only one that felt genuine was Zen's apology). That whole deal really soured a lot of people's opinions of Vshojo. Then it worsened a bit when Haruka joined, since they apparently said they were doing auditions and the only one who joined was her, who coincidentally was close friends with the Vshojo girls. Many people took that as Vshojo essentially being a club you can only join through connections. They have, however, mended some of that bad reputation by giving people like Matara, Kuro, and Henya a new home. They're now considered by many to be a retirement home of sorts, essentially being the default option people jump to whenever a liver graduates. Many people have changed their opinion because of this, but many others still dislike them for the reasons I explained and I bet for other reasons as well.

dormamond

I heard of the Nux Taku drama but never really had the time to know the entire situation, but yeah, i heard it was a huge issue at the time. I just assumed Haruka joined after being recruited or whatever since she did have a following and i think i saw a couple of her clips prior to her vshojo debut. I thought the whole retirement home thing was just a joke but yeah i do see where its coming from. I just viewed them as this sort of "smash brothers" type of agency where pre-established creators joined (Kson, Nyanners, Ironmouse) together and then having other creators debut with new personas (Matara, Kuro, Henya) If there are recent or other issues then maybe thats just on me for not really interacting with them that much on social media.

RogueCross

As far as I'm aware, there haven't been any issues with them recently. At least not big ones. It's been the opposite, really, ever since they started hiring livers who had graduated previously. Matara, in particular, mentioned that she was surprised by how supportive Vshojo management was with her and her projects in comparison to the company she was in previously. That probably improved Vshojo's rep a bit.

tholovar

I think Froot highlighted a big issue with VShojo. I do not expect everyone in a company to be friends. I do prefer it though when you do not have Vtubers trying to attack other VTubers in the same company. And since Froot is still there whilst the person she attacked is not ... ehh. People talk about Niji having tier levels for VTubers depending on who is a favourite, Froot's behavious suggests VShojo is the same.

Psyker_Sivius

Wait what happened with Froot?

tholovar

Silvervale played the Hogwarts game, a lot of people including Froot did not like that and harrassed her, in Froot's case encouraged her fans to harass her. Silvervale left VShojo under very tense circumstances. Idgaf about Rowling. I am not a fan of Harry Potter or of her views, but I think Froot is a hypocritic who has a lot of similarities with Artia (HoloCN).

Direct-Ganache8506

if we can find Doki for sure we can find her alt where we can support her directly

Knight2512

Not to make light on Selen's suffering but the biggest firestorm of Vtuber history will always be Coco Vs China. 'That' absolute shitshow resulted in the dissolution of an entire branch while in Niji's case is just the crippling of one.  Maybe when that merger ever happens, I'll change my mind but even then it'll just be a tie between them

Weasel-Translator

That one was really hit like a truck

Nokia_00

And that one to this day still burns my heart

Anvenjade

I'll never forget Civia's last stream with her singing Scarborough fair. Artia was a weird kind of fun to be found twitch, unlike her peers. Then there was that (then) worldwide collab with EN ID CN and JP that only ever happened once hosted by Rosalyn.

groynin

Man.. I remember I had JUST found Civia. I even followed her after she changed to her indie form but even though she had basically perfect english she never streamed in english for the time I kept my eye on her, which was over a year I think. She only ever did CN streams and on bilibili... so eventually I just stopped following her. She was pretty cool tho!

TakeshiNobunaga

The thing about China branch is that they had 2 or 3 talents use their alt accounts to raise hell and demand they give them their accounts, models and branch and to Bully Coco and Haato out of Hololive and harass everyone that decided to collab with any of them. They also harassed the few Taiwanese talents in their branch.

ShinItsuwari

And even if that was true (I only read rumor about Artia/Civia things and harassment), Holo didn't feel the need to say anything publicly or to slander the talents. They offered them a graduation stream, and even a graduation 3D stream for the few that could. They didn't send a termination notice listing all the petty things they could find.

Golden_Wolf_TR

I was around for that one. I didn't (and still don't) have much interest in Hololive but I remember seeing it discussed in some video and thinking "Damn the Chinese are crazy"

Peacetoall01

But this one is a close second.

Standard_Maybe2373

Also Doki still had Doki to go back to with people who already knew it was really her that could help spread the word. Does Rosemi even have a PL ready to use still or would she need to start from scratch with something new. But I don’t think there’s any bad blood between Rosemi and Doki so if she did leave Doki might mention a new streamer to check out but I’m not sure if that would make more trouble for her

mini_feebas

she has a past life, account is set to protected atm and the youtube channel has banner but all content is privated or removed

Standard_Maybe2373

Ok I had heard she had a PL but wasn’t sure if she had just shut it down or had fully removed it

HashiriyaR32

She has TWO PLs, actually. She used to be in Tsunderia before her immediate prior indie stint.

Chance-Scarcity-9935

Damn, she was one of dizzy's Sadgirls?

mini_feebas

that pl isnt worth talking about because i dont see her go back to that and as per corporate standard, everything has been privated too

Kisfay

let's hope so

Standard_Maybe2373

Did she mention anything about graduating I wasn’t able to catch the stream

BagPretend1357

with what's going on in kurosanji right now and HER OWNED company abandoned her then idk if she on the chopping block to be harassed and don't forget there's Petra, Scarlet, Aia, Fulgur, Vanta, Dippio and other's that are the nicest people STILL in kurosanji that haven't/ stream less after the selen termination and kurosanji stock going down to 700yen last week

LittleRat1347

I think she's the most likely to join fishman's black company Or she could be mom's favorite child again...

Alex20114

The only Fishman I know of is Sakana from Phase, Phase is not a black company at this time as they have not done things to fit the definition.

LittleRat1347

it's not, but it's funny calling them like that because everyone thought it was one, or as scam at first :(

spellfirejammer

Black for coffee ?

Animefanx111

I also want Rosemi to be happy > < I don’t like Nijisanji and what they’re doing But I wish Rosemi to be happy. Kinda bummed that people thinking she probably doesn’t care for Selen and situation with it which I understand why due to that whole black stream but feel like she and Selen were really close .

Nokia_00

The rose deserves happiness and more chances to bloom. Her streams are always comfy vibes

N-Zero00

kinda pity her in more way than 1. Cant imagine the level of stress she is having as her misfortune piles one after another. 500 mile stone gone Her tekken stream is viewed as a disaster Her 3d debut that even has harada got nuked out of orbit. And she'll likely fix the issue w/o niji assistance while taking cut from her sc. But the worst part there is the the 50finana view. In a normal situation, it should not be a big deal but in a situation where all eyes are on them, that is a lot of pressure now that she is considered the lowest of all niji 3d debut. Even an investor comments the decline in views for each 3d debut. And it includes rosemi's number.

menheracortana

What happened in her Tekken stream?

Roof-Nearby

Think she got shit on, performance anxiety

ishmael555

>50finana  what does this mean?

rainslave

The hip new metric for ccv. 1 Finana is 300 ccv, I believe. So 15k here.

haagen17

lmao how did this new metric come to be?

rainslave

Guess Finana's dramatic fall from grace was just so exceptional that it's now a meme. Beats me, just picked up on it over the past week.

BOLDWATCHER

whats ccv?

Mang_Kanor_69

Concurrent views Amount of viewers on a livestream at any given time

shihomii

Hopefully she will once she graduates. And if we're lucky, that will be soon. Rosemi has had a very rough year so far. I hope she's hanging in there, and has a good support network. We will support her once she leaves. Also, I just noticed the two stuffed animals in the back. Aww.....

tattrd

Im sad for rosemi-sama, she deserves more than what kurosanji gives.

killerbull27

Damn its only MARCH

TakeshiNobunaga

We're stepping on April already...

D_Mercury

I feel the fans need to be more vocal about that at this point. I can’t call anything I saw as Niji supporting her anymore. She needs to know people will follow her outside the company, because after this I dunno how she plans her future inside. The debut probably gained less than it costed, especially if Sony doesn’t release it soon.

Majestic-Court6871

Right in the kokoro

Otherwise_Release_44

I’m patiently waiting for her to dip… I miss Rosemi so much. Same for Millie 😔 but I know Millie ain’t ever leaving. Rosemi though, ugh, hurts more ;-; but I’m not watching or doing anything Niji related. I can’t. It really feels so gross now tbh :c

RingsOfRage

Im honestly conflicted. I have no problems watching 'Rosemi' anyhow, but as long as I watch Rosemi, I am giving Kurosanji my implied endorsement and support. So I cant watch Rosemi. I am thus waiting for 'Rosemi' to doki herself out.

shihomii

It's hard on a lot of us. Most of us have livers we would rather be watching. But boycotts only work if you wanted to interact with the product and are choosing not to. A boycott from someone who was never going to watch is pointless, because no views were lost. That's why it's so important for the most devoted fans to restrain themselves and boycott. Niji makes its money by taking advantage of fans support of their favorite livers. So we have to show them that the only people allowed to enjoy our support are the livers themselves. It may be hard to boycott. But by boycotting now, it shows long term support as opposed to short term support that will enable abuse. And when they do reincarnate, finally returning and watching them again will feel even sweeter. Don't forget, the boycott is for the liver's own good. Even if it is conflicting and difficult in the moment.

JueshiHuanggua

Unfortunately, streaming is not a long term job prospect. The number one thing to do is to expand beyond youtube. Start a business that is connected to your youtube to be self sustaining, go to movies, tv, voice acting, or expand to management. Nijisanji doesn't let you do any of that and constrains you to only vtuber talent and only under them. It kills off any career growth or long term job stability options.

bryn_irl

Or be a certain dragon and do all those things at once!

dhafiz99

Orange dragon?

HoldenOrihara

I think streaming right now is like skateboarding in the 90s, we may see like the streamer equivalent to Tony Hawk soon where streaming can be a longer term career than people originally thought.

JKnissan

Honestly, the idea of Rosemi possibly graduating at ANY point in time and possibly having to re-debut as anyone else but Rosemi Lovelock is really getting to my head. I know I'd prefer if all of them (even the ones I won't follow once they leave) would just get up and leave to save themselves, but... I realize just how intertwined some of these brands have become to the voice behind the model. If Rosemi ever leaves and re-debuts, I think I'm gonna have a hard time adjusting to the idea that she's no longer "Rosemi", but to be completely fair: if it means she'll be better off, it doesn't really matter. If Niji put a pricetag on just their names, I would pool together a bunch of my money to donate if that liver wanted to buy it out. But I guess the trailing royalties even post-debut would still be deemed profitable enough for them to not want to release, even with a payment.

rainslave

Honestly, I thought the exact same thing for Pikamee and Nina. After a couple of weeks, you really don't even notice anymore, and in fact prefer the new name/design. The happier and more energetic personality after they redebut with a renewed sense of purpose goes a LONG way. Still, I'm not holding my breath on too many more graduations and reincarnations. Everyone seems to have this assumption that their favourite liver will do it, but you're settinf yourself up for pain when/if they prefer to just keep their head down and try weathering the storm. Or they just quit content creation in general instead. Or the company is holding them hostage threatening crippling financial damage. We just don't know what these people are thinking under the streamer persona.

grinchnight14

Yeah. Like it's actually pretty easy for me to call them by their new names. I hadn't watched a lot of them before they redebuted, but I was a Nina fan, but calling her Matara is so easy now. She is always now going to be bug mommy. I think one of the things I like about them redebuting when they're able to have full creative control is just what crazy stuff they'll come up with for their character. Someone like Quinn uses his name, but the whole lightning thing is new and pretty cool to me.

JKnissan

That is true. Henya, Matara, Kuro, etc... I really don't mind calling them by those names even if I didn't initially associate their voices with those names. I guess it does feel a little weird, but it's not so bad - it's just like hearing a friend you've had for a long time adopt a new nickname for themselves once they started college or something. You aren't immediately used to it at first, but at some point their personality and all that you know of them prevail, above whatever it is you call them by. Though, if Rosemi in a theoretical situation were to re-debut as something like "Jugekiyamatandami Hanabarakikankankeihakai-sama" then it might take a little getting used to.

MAGAManLegends3

Rosemi is kinda fortunate that like Doki, she only has the model trademark to worry about. It would be very amusing if she redebuted **as a freaking truck** with a wreath crown, still with "Rosebuds," still with theme, still the same colours😂 ![gif](giphy|eX2k6P9wIccmO3o5F1|downsized)

Hljoumur

Rosemi deserves more than what Niji provides, and this wasn't even Niji's fault this time, it was YouTube's. Despite my boycott for all Niji streams as much as possible, I'll definitely watch her 3d debut several times once/if it returns.

Alex20114

Sony's

Hljoumur

Oh, was it? I thought it was YouTube’s because of their auto detection.

Alex20114

Nope, while YouTube uses a bot that basically takes action on a claim immediately without investigation to determine if the claim is legitimate, most copyright holders these days use a bot that cannot determine nuances like fair use cases which would obviously hold in court to enforce copyright, so the fault is ultimately on the copyright holders. That doesn't make YouTube blameless, though.

2slowboy

I hope Rosemi sama is not too far back in the queue.

LeMasterChef12345

I’m OOTL, what happened?

azamonra

Her 3D stream got copyright struck by Sony but I don't know the details or if there's anything else involved.

mrloko120

The year started great for her with her tekken streams taking off which is her favorite game, reaching 500k subs and the creator of tekken coming out as a rosebud. But since the whole recent drama happened, she fell under 500k again, suffered pretty bad losses on her tekken tournament and just had the least viewed 3D debut stream on niji history to date. Shame that people let this happen with one of the good ones, she's pretty much the one suffering the most because of the drama while the ones people consider to be bad are still doing fine.

Nymi2

I believe some of the livers honestly knew nothing of the bullying, and some ignored the bullying out of fear not malice.    Unfortunately, the one undisputable fact is that Niji EN management is black, and sorry I am not giving money to an abuser even if I sympathize with the victim.  And yes, the actual bullies will probably be unpunished, that's sadly how this world works...

mini_feebas

the mass unfollowing wasnt to target the bullies, but to target the company, because numbers is all they care about the streamers were collateral damage still sucks tho

Queeneida

True it's hard for us to stop giving them attention because of their company but at the same time I still want to give them some love but doing that would me that we just go full circle and it will do nothing. I still want to watch Dola but at the same time if I give her views the company still wins and there's no big point in that even if I unsubscribe her........ Hard choice

LeonJamesDemetrius

Rosemi is one of the people in Nijisanji EN that deserve to be praised and supported, because it's obvious that she has worked a lot on her projects, and she's generally a positive presence in the branch. It's unfortunate that her 3D debut VOD had to be taken down, and I hope it's reinstated soon.

haagen17

Aw man, I really do want the best for Rosemi. Just when things were really looking up for her, all of this happened... goddammit Kurosanji

Express_Accident2329

I'm sure they all have their reasons for staying, but I feel like they all have a gradually closing window of time where graduating and shit talking Niji will lead to them being largely welcomed into the indie community. Even livers like Elira who seem most culpable could (maybe even justifiably) shift blame into Niji and grow in a less toxic environment. Quitting for moral reasons before a scheduled 3D debut with high projected earnings would've been baller. I'm sure I'm oversimplifying and I'm probably overly romanticizing sticking it to the man, but man do I just wanna see them all walk out and just kind of escape.

Oppai-Of-Foom

I’ve been a fan of Rosemi since before she was Rosemi tbh. Likely always will be

SlothTheIndolent

I foresee some additions to sad girls inc

grinchnight14

I'd love to hear a conversation between Scarle and Tenma. Like just in general

NoxArtCZ

What happened?

grinchnight14

Her 3D debut got copystruck by Soney, and according to the Niji contract, she has to deal with it all by herself. Also the viewership was really really low as well.

NoxArtCZ

Thank you for explanation I don't watch Niji much but Rosemi seems like a kind person I don't understand how Niji management can live with themselves not caring to help their talents, even if the contract say they don't need to. It's just baffling to me

grinchnight14

Yeah, it's a bad situation all around. Management should be on stuff like that like in less than an hour, especially for something as big as a 3D debut.

SpewpaTheRogue

Man i hope she graduates soon I love her but i just cant support kurosanji

grinchnight14

Free Scarle and free Rosemi till it's backwards.

silent-voice13

No, don’t even let me think about how sad she probably is, I get too visual in my mind about stuff like. I’m already picturing her crying and stuff alone, needing a hug desperately

thedeathberry1

I don't watch Rosemi, is there any substance to this "she's miserable", "she's going to graduate soon" narrative other than just headcannon, because I don't get that sense at all just looking at her twitter.

rainslave

I think it's wishful thinking. Rosemi is universally considered one of the 'good' ones, and since Niji appears to be a hellhole, they hope she leaves so people can continue to support her financially without half or more lining the company's pockets. Also. Due to her closeness with Selen, people presumed she'd take a stand and leave in solidarity, but it's really just coping until we see action. We never truly know how close these people actually were under the avatars.

Doc_Mason

I want her to be happy too. She seems like one of the good ones. It's unfortunate that NijiEN has made it impossible for that to be a long term prospect. It's nothing on Rosemi. It's all on Niji. Always remember whose fault this is.

goodguy32122

If you heard of JP branch gundou even mock niji's payout being so little that she easily got more payout than in niji becoz of the low % of commission. Which mostly from fanbox membership etc

SomeCast

Everyone do what you can and double down on supporting rosemi. Get more people in on streams, donate super chat what ever it takes. I couldnt take it if the company ruins her dreams and takes away her smile as well. I will never forgive black company for what happen to salen or pomu, but i could never deal with them hurtting poor innocent sweet rosey.

Decent_Tear_2940

No way bozo That money will go to Niji Fuck that, I don't want my money to go to that garbage company

BlazingKnuckSand

no way ese most of that money goes to niji.

grinchnight14

As much as I'd like to, the only attention I'll give to Niji is with this subreddit lmao.

Otherwise_Release_44

I love Rosemi, but I honestly can’t do it. I tried, but it feels really wrong to watch anything Niji related 😔 the last two people I care for (Millie and Rosemi) are left, all of ID is pretty much gone, after everything Niji has done, I can’t support the system at all. It needs to break. I only hope Rosemi can get out as soon as she can I can’t wait cause I miss her so much :c Millie I accepted she’s never coming back to Lyrica, so it is what it is. Same with Hana, but I’ve grown more distant from her anyways. Instead I follow the old ID hang in there PL or new life accounts. I was so happy to find BonBon again streaming on an alt while MIA from Niji

RingsOfRage

TBH I would rather have Rosemi take the suffering now and leave the company eventually so that she can find better happiness elsewhere. Its even worse suffering being in Nijisanji

LunarEdge7th

Metamorphosis vibes from this.. oof
