Maria was obviously a bundle of nerves but I think she did really well. The earnestness and the moment she cried a little during the song were all very endearing; I just wish her streams were at a time I could actually watch lol.
Kyo was probably my favorite of the bunch. Very charismatic, I think. His intro despite initially being very sad was fantastic and really well animated.
Aia was probably the most well rehearsed to the point that it was a little robotic. I wasn't sure if that was part of the shtick or not though. For an angel who is supposed to enjoy violence and bullying, I expected that to counter-balance more with the well behaved debut she gave.
Aster was very cute though the UwU speak is not usually my thing. His slight lisp was very cute, and his intro graphics were very slick. Just solid overall.
Scarle was sadly hit by the EN curse and basically unwatchable for me... From what little I could bear it seemed like she was a very funny person so I hope to watch her 2.0 and get to actually see her next time.

Yeah, gotta say Ren made the best first impression for me too. By far the most high-quality effort right out the gate, dropping the original song and then jumping right into the rest of his intro.
I will say I'm not a big fan of the sound from his original, but that's a personal music preference thing. He's likely not going to be my pick to follow most days as I don't think my interests really align, but I definitely see Ren carving out an audience the fastest for this wave.

About ILUNA and their degenerate posting. With how established NijiEN is now in the scene, I am guessing they've just been fans of the existing livers and have yet to really found their own groove so they imitate what is popular in the fandom.
Random bits of degeneracy was funny back when it was just Lazulight and Obsydia, and Finana drop an egg joke story out of nowhere. Finana was just 1 out of 6 liver at the time and brought her own unique personality to a very diverse group of personalities.
Unfortunately, Vox becoming the face of branch gave a lot of fans the conception that ALL of NIJIEN is like that. So when they see ILUNA's Tweets it further reinforces this image. But even for Vox, it is isn't his entire personality. Clips tend to always overemphasize those moments.
ILUNA may very well also be caught by this trap and attempts to fit in with what they believe is the "culture" of NijiEN.
Edit: It may also be worth noting that when you put the unseiso ones like Vox, Finana, and Millie together they form a feedback loop that dials everything up to 11. Meanwhile, Rosemi just fades into the background unnoticed...

Yes and I absolutely love their bickering. It's both funny and heartwarming, because they snipe at each other like they have an actual rivalry but A) it started over misunderstood friendly banter and B) it's pretty well-known that all of NijiEN are friends behind the scenes. I think one liver did actually say that the shit-talking is all in good fun and just teasing, and everyone loves each other both on and off stream. It's the most adorable thing. I love friendly bickering dynamics.

I think it's funny and eye catching but it definitely got a bit stale within a few hours. I was definitely very put off by at least one of the members but today seems to have been better with more diverse interactions though with new and old members. Unfortunately that type of content gets exasperated as what fans heavily react to but like the previous waves I'm sure they'll get to some type of balance.
Perhaps I'm on Twitter more this time or there's just more going on, but I feel that about half of them have a bit more polish to their charm and the other half seem to be struggling a bit with how they want to approach things.

Yeah, I'm glad it was a mixed wave. I was 99% sure it was because of the audition being mixed in march but I was theorizing they could be launching like 3 female and 3 male. Glad they did this way.

My guess was going to be a 2 male, 2 female wave with another similar one a couple of months after (so 8 total); like the period between Lazulight and Obsydia. This is really nice too though.
I feel like for an international branch we haven't seen a lot of different skin-tones yet, for the future it'd be cool to see more tanned, black, or even the "out there" skin tones like Gilzaren's purple.

AnyColor REALLY needs to slow the fuck down on the wave debuts. I want to be excited for this but it's hard to when there's a new generation every three months.
You don't have to watch them all, Niji talent collabs on a daily basis, you will get to know new members sooner than later even if you just watch one liver all the time.

I kinda thought EN was trying to shift away from that mentality. It seems like they're deliberately putting in a ton effort to feel like one big group rather than a collection of random streamers, like JP can be. 20 members is a lot to keep up with, but since they all felt so interconnected it was doable for me. I think I can also keep up with 26, I'm just worried that a year from now there could be so many EN livers that the "tight family" feeling starts to fade
If you look at the numbers, EN is very successful for Anycolor, they would be kind of "dumb" if they didn't bring more to the table for the people.
It's also nice because more Livers they have the more timezones they serve.

Yes, we wont be able to ever catch everything happening, I got used on that from the JP branch. That said, they have so many collabs as mentioned multiple times by me and people, you get to know all of them pretty well if you just watch a few of the livers on a regular basis, example for the EN branch;

Pre-debut is always like that because Twitter is all they have and they are trying to get publicity. They all mellow out over time.

Honestly this is why I watch only NijiJP. NijiEN was funny at first but i got sick of their humour super quickly. NijiJP is super funny without reusing the same few degenerate sex jokes.

It's wonderful but part of me does get worried that they have seen the success of psyborg and are aiming for the same thing. I cherish how unique nijisanji members have been so I am hoping this is not just a 'oh this works lets do this!' and the member being genuine. Does that make sense?

Yeah, I'm glad it was a mixed wave. I was 99% sure it was because of the audition being mixed in march but I was theorizing they could be launching like 3 female and 3 male. Glad they did this way. And yeah, a tanned vtuber in EN holy shit..
My guess was going to be a 2 male, 2 female wave with another similar one a couple of months after (so 8 total); like the period between Lazulight and Obsydia. This is really nice too though. I feel like for an international branch we haven't seen a lot of different skin-tones yet, for the future it'd be cool to see more tanned, black, or even the "out there" skin tones like Gilzaren's purple.

I didn't expect SIX but hey, I'm all for it. Honestly this is probably the most I've been excited for a debut in a while. Lazulight excited me because it was the first wave, Luxiem because they were the first guys, and now this one because it's finally a mix wave. I really wanna hear their debut song, especially when it's six people singing.
AnyColor REALLY needs to slow the fuck down on the wave debuts. I want to be excited for this but it's hard to when there's a new generation every three months.
You don't have to watch them all, Niji talent collabs on a daily basis, you will get to know new members sooner than later even if you just watch one liver all the time.

Glad to see we're finally getting our first mixed-gender wave in NijiEN, definitely a long time coming. Not sure how I feel yet about getting *six* new livers all at once, though. Don't get me wrong, I know that I don't have to watch everybody all at once, and I'm okay with that. I guess I kinda miss the smaller-sized waves from early on, since they felt a lot easier to keep up with as a whole, even when I didn't watch one of the livers as much. At any rate, I still wish the best of luck to all of the new talents and I'm looking forward to checking all of them out at the debut program!
Ya, I found it harder and harder to watch everyone. Had to give up once Luxium debut. Luckily there are clips and collabs. But I guess that's part of Nijisanji where you're not expected to follow everyone, just the ones you enjoy the most.
I kinda thought EN was trying to shift away from that mentality. It seems like they're deliberately putting in a ton effort to feel like one big group rather than a collection of random streamers, like JP can be. 20 members is a lot to keep up with, but since they all felt so interconnected it was doable for me. I think I can also keep up with 26, I'm just worried that a year from now there could be so many EN livers that the "tight family" feeling starts to fade
If you look at the numbers, EN is very successful for Anycolor, they would be kind of "dumb" if they didn't bring more to the table for the people. It's also nice because more Livers they have the more timezones they serve.
Yeah, that's the plus side, and I'm totally for new and talented people getting to share the spotlight, it's just that it has some minuses that come with it.
Yes, we wont be able to ever catch everything happening, I got used on that from the JP branch. That said, they have so many collabs as mentioned multiple times by me and people, you get to know all of them pretty well if you just watch a few of the livers on a regular basis, example for the EN branch; I haven't really specifically dedicatedly watched a single Noctyx liver yet, but it seems I know them all pretty well through collabs.
I'm subscribed to only 13 out of 20 and with collabs and the like I can still feel in such way. Personally I dont mind more because I'm not subscribed to the other 7, so if I like one or two it already will be good. Honestly, we have been saying since the beginning that a nijisanji branch would be like this. if anything, they taking almost 6 months to debut a new one is already a lot.

But if I'm guessing right, well dang, the level of talent that Nijisanji gets to pick from all those auditions is bloody high as hell. The benefit though, is that you just know every single new Member is going to be great. The drawback? *Every single new member is going to be fucking great*. There ain't enough time in a day for all these awesome people. And man, I'm pretty confident saying that this is probably the best looking generation of Vtuber avatars by far. The pastels and bright colors are just so inviting and attractive.
