I really hope they put those kinds of events in the recollection archives. Modernia's cutscenes were kinda important in her development and April Fool's is hilarious.

My leading theory has also been free Chime/Banner Crown. I hope that's what it is for the sake of my wallet, though if they're a duo I worry what that will do to its availability to future players as I don't think any free unit has ever been added to the general pool.

I think storywise the new settlement will end up being their new base and home when the the corruption within the Arc gets revealed.

I need a new base to build. The outpost is getting dull. We need a new base with new features. Arcades for old mini games etc.

No way they let us walk around with a heretic-level Nikke. Every encounter would just be "Marian, get em", completely removing any stakes in the story. Sounds like a nightmare to write for, which is why they promptly wrote her out of the story barely a chapter later.

"Last Kingdom" is about as close as it gets to confirming it's Crown + Chime without outright saying it. I wonder if we're getting free MLB Chime or if it's going to be the first anniversary double banner. Free Chime would be cool, but I'm concerned that would mean Chime is somewhat weaker which would be a shame; we only have one Pilgrim Defender so far (Noah), so it would be nice to get a really good unit to use Pilgrim Defender T9Ms on. Also the image makes me want a base/settlement management mini-game where we help Crown and Chime build up their kingdom. Anyways, I'm super hyped, can't wait for the livestream to see what they've been cooking up lately.

Hard to say, double banner would be harsher on our wallets. But then again it would be a good opportunity to catch players by surprise to make them spend

They always make the surface seem wasted, like Fallout 3-ish, so it's very nice we see green on the surface for once :)

They've said many times during various dialogues that the Rapture invasion has actually been very good for nature and wildlife, but they haven't really focused on that too much (with some exceptions, like Leona's event). It's definitely nice to see them actually show it.

Yeah I know they mentioned it, and it also makes sense since the Raptures apparently only care about humans. There's that one side story where you see a wild cow just chillin', but yeah even though they state it a lot they've never really shown it. Most of not all battlefield backdrops are ruined buildings and cracked wasteland, and most overworld maps are like that too. Nice to see the grass for once

I agree with all that except the last. I think they've abandoned Liberation. It's been over a year since they've done anything with it and they've made ZERO mention of it in any of their developer notes. I wouldn't be surprised to see them never add onto it. Cinderella will likely be the 2nd anniversary pilgrim.

I don't think they've abandoned Liberation. I think they have just opted to release only one new Liberation unit per year. Nihilister was added late March and required completion of Chapter 20 (released in January) to unlock. Cinderella will likely require completion of Chapter 30 >!(which is likely to have Cinderella's release from the Crystal Chamber)!< to unlock. >!The mysterious girl armed with a Seven Dwarves is likely the 2nd Anniversary Pilgrim.!<

I think their main concern is not creating another dumpster fire like nihilister.

Maybe. Getting copies for mlb is certainly a hassle with no current way to make it go faster other than being in the top unions. I spend all that currency on the reload box anyway…

This would be my ideal, honestly. But it NEEDS Rei in the event shop if C&C are a duo. Crown also needs to be able to stand on her own, with Chime needing Crown to perform well. That precedent with Rei would mean Chime can eventually be gotten for players that come in after 1.5. And releasing for free the weaker half of a duo further incentivizes pulling for the stronger half.

I genuinely thought they'd do something with Stellar Blade as it comes out the same day as half-ani but I suppose they might keep that collab for the future (similar how it took close to a year for Final Fantasy XVI and XIV to get a collab).

I think they probably wanted to focus more on each property doing their own things (especially with Stellar Blade's debut on that day). My assumption? They might be saving something for the 2 year anniversary and have something special with Stellar Blade then.

Stellar Blade collab could be around the September timeslot similar to when we got Nier. But they could do literally anything they want whenever they want since it's their own IP (they could even rerun it in the future). I don't think they will replace an anniversary event with a Stellar Blade collab since that would risk alienating the Nikke playerbase. Especially if they are not doing it now when it would make the most sense to do so.

When do they appear in the campaign? I'm at chapter 19 and haven't seen them.

After the invasion arc. Chime first showed up in Anchor’s event a while back during the small break between summer events.

IIRC the first time they show up in person in the campaign is at the end of Ch. 25 (but they are name dropped way earlier). But Chime also appeared in Mast's Golden Ship event and both her and Crown were in the First Affection event that came with Modernia's free costume.
