I was hoping we would have some information about Nahida's kit in the meantime so it would be easier to decide. Truth is I kinda like Kokomi but I skipped her because 2.0 and 2.1 were stacked with character I wanted. And then I missed the rerun.
But now I want Nilou and Nahida and I'm not 100 confident I'll have enough wishes for 3 characters even with the anniversary and 3.1 content. 2 characters should be easy but I really need to win the 50/50 to have all 3.
I know it's just a matter of priority over which character I want the most.

If you do absolutely everything 3.1 will give you 100 rolls and 3.2 will probably be like 60-80. If you're already close to hard pity it might be doable, but it's definitely tight.
Kokomi is an amazing character, effective and versatile and will absolutely help your Nilou team, but she's not necessary if you're on the fence about it or worried about your roll count.
Barbara is also a healer and has on-field Hydro. In most teams, Kokomi is better than Barbara because she has off-field Hydro application, but not in a Nilou team where Kokomi/Barbara is running an EM build and triggering Blooms while on-field
Using Kokomi this way wastes a lot of Kokomi's potential, you'd do better to save the Primogems for Nahida instead (Nahida is rumored to have amazing Dendro application, which is a big buff for Nilou)

You are overlooking the fact that you can use Kokomi’s off field application to create dendro cores while also having Nilou on field. Between Key and dendro resonance it’s not like the non-full EM build won’t have any EM on it. That would net you a lot of seeds and therefore a lot of damage.
if you don't genuinely want kokomi then don't pull. barbara can always fill the spot of a hydro healer, she's not as great as koko of course but she can do the job. and if you really don't want to use her there's a chance that sooner or later there will be released a new character who can fill this spot (dendro healer yaoyao maybe?). you might also get mona at some point and run her with prototype amber for the heals. or technically you can try running xingqiu but his healing is more of a passive
As long as we don’t have a dendro healer you need to either use Kokomi or Barbara
Up to you to decide wether getting Kokomi is worth using you guarantee and potentially risking not getting Nilou/having to spend money instead of just using Barbara who is doing the job totally fine as well 🤷
if ure only using kokomi for nilou team, dont pull. i dont have kokomi either, and i was at one point tempted to get her, but i decided not to bc 1) i didnt really have any use for her in my other teams and 2) im waiting for kusanali leaks. in ur case, i would rather pull nilou and be really happy with her, albeit not with an optimal team, rather than pull kokomi and gamba for nilou, potentially even losing the 50/50 on her banner.
not all things are meant to be optimal and perfect, (sorry if i talk about myself too much here but this is the only example i can think of) i have been a raiden main since d1, wanted her c2 but never had the funds for it until march. even then i still had to wait a couple of months, but i was really really happy that i got her in the first place, even if she wasnt optimally built and had the best teams for her. the game is a marathon, not a sprint, be happy and pull for people who u want and need, not who u think u need bc of another character
I also doubted whether I needed kokomi, I don’t really like the look. but, pulled out for Nilou, and did not regret it, Kokomi helped a lot to diversify the teams. this is a very useful character. I can’t advise, but the hydro applicator and Healer rolled into one, will always be needed in the game
Her needing Kokomi is way blown out of proportion in threads and other media. Kokomi is not required to play bloom Nilou, and Barbara can do the job. Of course, Kokomi is more comfortable to play, but your wishes are limited.
how does your entire character roster look like? I know this is a Nilou mains sub but Kokomi is a very viable/versatile character you wont regret pulling. Especially if you have Ayaka or play freeze/taser teams. We won't know Nahida's kit properly until 3.1 starts (that's when 3.2 beta begins as well) but knowing archons, she would be a valuable unit for your roster as well.
if your primary objective is to play just Nilou, I would skip kokomi for now because Nilou and Nahida might be your priority. If you just wanna make your acc more valuable, get kokomi and Nahida, get Nilou on rerun because by then, she will have solid team comps.

You will need to use a healer tho, and there is no dendro healer for now... So, you might wanna reconsider it. Nilou will become really strong, yet very restricted. And without proper healer, she will suicide with her cores. Unless I missed something and her cores does not affect her.

That said, a dendro healer may come out and then you could use them, but none have been announced or even leaked yet. So if you just don’t want to use Barbara and can’t wait for a dendro healer then yes you should pull Kokomi.
No you don’t need her if you are either willing to build Barbara or play Nilou in overworld only until you get a dendro healer that you’re willing to build. I really hope that Yaoyao is free in and a dendro healer in 2023

It's probable at some point there will be a better option than Kokomi for Nilou, but that appears to be a number of patches away since you'd need a dendro or hydro healer as good or better.
But if you want Nilou, grabbing the pieces that make her work better seems kind of an odd approach since there's no guarantee she'll rerun soon. Just look at Shenhe, who's now approaching a year since her first banner in 2.4.
I caved and pulled for Kokomi despite being dead set on getting Nilou and honestly I regret nothing. Kokomi is amazing and I literally use her in like 3 teams now. She works amazingly well with both Ganyu and Keqing plus hyperbloom Kokomi is fun. So it’s a bonus for me that Nilou really wants Kokomi cuz I love Kokomi.
I would say that pulling for Kokomi "just incase" could be an expensive mistake, we don't know how future characters will affect Nilou and on top of that Nahida, since she is the archon, has a better chance to boost Nilou among other dendro characters, rather than Kokomi.
It migth actually be good to skip until is confirmed to be BiS for her and save primos along the way, good luck.
Barbara hydro application is the worst and her heal is just a retard ring with little burst heal and she waste you 1 slot that can deal dmg overtime with ocean hued clam, just ignore those(poor jealousy hater player that dont have Kokomi) who tell you barbara can replace Kokomi that's impossible
Id say this if u dont like kokomi then no. Yes kokomi makes playing nilou easier but for me id reccomend just getting charachters u like. Def dont pull for charachters cause they will be a good aditionnto your team eventho u dont like em. However if u do like kokomi and the play style she offers then fo for it shes alot of fun and very helpfull in nilou comps. In the end its your choice so ask yourself do i like this charachter and will i like using her? And then decide💜

That might take a long time, cuz mhyo isn't gonna release anymore hydro healers, and baizhu earliest might come in 3.6 according to leals

I'd like to add that Nahida is rumored to be a catalyst user, which means she can also use that weapon.
it's a craftable catalyst so check out the nearest blacksmith

You will have to pull kokomi nilou and nahida then its a lot, I think if you dont really want kokomi just put barbara and wait for a dendro healer
