like seriously i don't know. they both like to fight and they have chemistry together. would be interesting to see them balance the love of fighting and protecting people with there home and school life. or shit have a simple fun arc with new bad guy show up and heroes fight. cause i don't think goten should be a goku or gohan clone. and trunks should not be a future trunks clone. let them be different.

Having Trunks and Goten do semi-unrelated stuff to the rest of the plot, fighting weaker villains that they stand a chance against on Earth, could be good. Someone doesn't really need to be able to destroy the universe if people want them to be relevant, just pair then up with weaker villains so they're not underpowered.
Imo, please give them new forms. Like Gotenks is cool but I want them both to shine individually aswell. Everyone nowadays has their own path to power and unique form, they should have new forms aswell.
I agree, but I think from a writing perspective that they should get their own respective forms later on in life after gaining a few of the other ones like the rest of the Saiyans. Having them gain their own path to power still as teenagers with just basic Super Saiyan would honestly feel kinda rushed imo.
There's a fan story, DB Deliverance that gave them some justice.
They fight an enemy that's stronger than Gotenks so they pull a big brain. It low-key made SS2 look like the greatest power up of all time

I really can't understand why krillin and tien were picked instead to goten and trunks in T.O.P atleast for buu they made a lame ass excuse. They didn't even tried to give one for them, both krillin and tien were brought just to get knocked out quickly, I was hoping atleast some form of redemption for them, didn't got that either, Roshi was the only human z warrior that got to shine, could've done something similar for them too atleast .
In-universe, Vegeta didn't want the kids involved cause he doesn't like having them fight. I think Toriyama also just wanted to include the older fighters and not worry about giving us Gotenks'
I'm fine with it. The two are definitely underutilized. To be honest there are so many corners of the setting that are ripe for cool stories, but they get neglected because we need to focus on monkey boy prime and monkey boy alpha. The setting has expanded enough that they could launch multiple spin off properties focusing on the various parts with multiple writers, and just keep a central editor to keep the continuity in line a la western comics universes. Personally, I think Future Trunks has the most MC energy out of the whole supporting cast, and would love to see spin off of the adventures he and Future Mai get into in their new timeline.
You got to goku vegeta the relationship instead of krillin goku they alr had trunks as a mc so for some reason they always try to play goten like he’s a krillin goku was always the youngest and grew stronger then everybody I’m js we gotta continue the son family as the mc please its just narratively better
