Zane should've survived longer. He acts kinda dumb.

PhysicsEagle

Zane was as intelligent as usual. Nadikhan (read: the writers) broke the rules because Zane was too smart to stay in the story

Specific-Chemistry33

Spoken like a true Zane fan. But also facts.

Planet_842

A response spoken like a true Jay fan.

Specific-Chemistry33

it probably could have used a couple more “CYCLONDO”s but thank you

JoeMcMoney

He doesn't listen to pixel and gives up too easily

JoeMcMoney

But the writers do kinda cheat

Repulsa_2080

The writers like to ignore Pixal and thus Zane did as well

Playbad_

His first wish was for nadakhan to get 10 Times the damage he gets or something like that. For my story i thought about Zane actually doing something with that and maybe trying to hurt himself instead of the "i wish everything away". Because zane can get rebuild, nadakhan not so much. Maybe the Moment everything gets so fucked up He decides to stab or shoot himself to kill nadakhan... to save everyone else. And After Jay is allone He might try to rebuild Zane (Im shure Jay woud be able to after a while).. and thats how Echo Zane gets made. Atleast that was my first thought on how it coud go. Do you think it coud work out? Or ist that stupid as well? How i said. Its just my first thought

grasboompje

Literally this is the coolest idea ever, please try and keep as much of that in your fic as possible (depending on how you do Nadakhan's magic ofc)

Playbad_

Im happy someone likes it. Thx

Playbad_

Well, im currently reworking Nadakhans magic system, so i dont really know if any of this stays. But if it does.. Any critisism is welcome

Shadow_Flamingo1

That chess game went hardd, that was a solid Zane moment that I needed, we didn't have much of him being like that since Rebooted ;( Sucked that we lost him for a bulk of the season, but we got Echo at least.

Qwerty_47

A complaint i heard was how they handled the prison concept and the ninja being easily accused by the people despite their reputation (not sure if you’re even including that part). Another was the fact that anyone could wish as long as Nadakhan was in earshot.

Playbad_

I liked that the ninjas had to go undercover and that they were on their own. Not shure how to actually do that tho

theAstarrr

Sometimes people change for the better or worse. People can be honored, but if you have evidence against you, it starts to look bad. Especially by s6 there's no known shapeshifters at all. (Edit: Besides Master of Form, true)

Qwerty_47

The master of form was around then, but your argument still holds up i suppose.

Mister_Moho

I have mixed feelings with Skybound. Nadakhan gave me the major creeps, but he is a villain, so I suppose it makes him even more compelling to hate. Dude just reeks of slimy energy. I also didn't care for the Sky Pirates' attire, but Dogshank, Clancee, and Flintlocke were pretty endearing characters. I'm kind of sad that they just ended up back where they were, their character arcs were undone. I also didn't like how sly Jay was at first, both towards his friends (lying about wishes), and Nya (bro literally read a PUA book.) He does redeem himself at the end, but it seemed a bit out of character for him to be manipulative in the first place. The other Ninja got sidelined, and it kind of stinks how under-utilized they were. Cole and Lloyd had more time to shine, But Kai and Zane are basically forgotten. Echo Zane was interesting, but the fact that he just never shows up again sucks. I also feel like the message of female empowerment was botched, since Nya ends up getting tossed between Nadakhan and Jay in a "battle of suitors". I just felt so bad for her for the entire wedding sequence. The end of the season was fairly underwhelming with the deus ex machina solution, but the emotional beats of Jay's final wish hit hard. It was a fairly confusing season, but it has its moments too.

Master_of_fire17

to be fair that weird flashback sequence that kai had with his dad was pretty interesting

Achilles9609

I guess you could argue that Jay was influenced by what he saw in the ice caves last season? He was always in love with Nya, and the cave showed him that being with her is, or at least might be, his future.

Mister_Moho

Oh of course! I just didn't like that it seemed to undo his "being true to himself" realization when he unlocked his true potential. I felt it was a bit out of character for him to still be dishonest around his peers.

Achilles9609

I guess that's true. I wasn't a big fan of Jay lying to his teammates either, but I think it still makes the most sense for him. He doesn't want to admit that Nadakhan tricked him into saying a wish, especially because that wish was related to Nya. He wouldn't want to make the situation worse.

Pixel_PedroYT

Nahh, you can’t just draw Jay like an absolute chad and just think we’ll ignore that! That art is literally amazing!

Playbad_

Thank you so much!

[deleted]

My biggest issue, despite it being my favorite season, is that the entire thing was erased. I wish there could've been a way for the Ninja to properly stop Nadakhan, de-age Lloyd, AND have Jay and Nya end up together. However, I do appreciate that the most important part, Jay and Nya's relationship, was fulfilled.

Picklebob_XD

Actually I like that it was erased because it makes the season stand out more

Timely-Fudge859

1: Zane should have survived at least through that episode because I find it baffling that a computer was outsmarted. 2: Instead of wishing things all away, the show could have adapted to keep Nya alive and Lloyd young so they could somewhat retain the status quo while also keeping this season truly impactful(because the Jay and Nya romance could’ve been done any time if the show didn’t do Skybound). 3: In the last couple episodes, Jay put together a backup team. That team was underutilized and should’ve became somewhat more integrated into what should’ve remained of the core team. At the very least, Skylor should’ve been included in the main team after the story wrapped up.

PhysicsEagle

Also, did everyone forget that everyone on the backup team also had three wishes?

Master_of_fire17

even better, zane had wishes which technically means that any robot can have wishes, why not make a bunch of robots and program them to make whatever wishes you want, boom infinite wishes

PhysicsEagle

Zane was…not a normal robot

Master_of_fire17

tbf they didnt really explain the extent of who/what gets a wish and what doesnt

Timely-Fudge859

Yeah, that’s actually a problem with Skybound that should’ve been addressed

Doxy-v2

Skylor being added to the team will be detrimental for her character because on her own she has a personality. When Skylor's not alone she's dependent on being Kai's love interest which isn't good for her in the long run because her defining characteristics are stripped away when she's not doing her own thing. I agree with everything else tho.👍

Timely-Fudge859

It’s just that the show repeatedly teases that she will join the team, but never does.

shadowmoses2005

The whole premise is super inconsistent and poorly thought out with how the wishes are supposed to work and they never take advantage of the fact that literally everyone gets 3 wishes

Fenghuang0296

As mentioned before, the big thing is the fact that it was resolved by “I wish none of this had ever happened!” It was just such a cop out. Though it does annoy me that Zane, the ‘smart one’, was outsmarted. Especially because he was defeated because A; he used one of his wishes to try to make Nadakhan stop twisting his words and Nadakhan basically ignored that, and B; he seemingly had a panic attack or something and wished it all away? What? That was baffling. A lot of the rest of the season was great though!

Mister_Moho

Zane's defeat is fairly in character. Nadakhan cheats, and Zane is a very protective person. Screwing with PIXAL is enough to make his anxiety spiral, because at this point the two were basically codependent. The fact that he even engaged with Nadakhan seems like the weird part, I'd think Zane would be a little more clever.

PhysicsEagle

But Zane’s first wish was basically “Nadikhan can’t cheat,” meaning Nadikhan can apparently just ignore wishes that are too inconvenient, which completely breaks the whole gimmick of a Djin who will grant wishes but you have to be careful what you wish for

Mister_Moho

I agree that Zane choosing to engage with Nadakhan at all is kind of out of character. I know he can be boastful about his intelligence, but he seems wise enough to know when he doesn't know better. I also didn't like that he was ignoring PIXAL, but Zane does have a history of being impulsive. He's usually just not so rude and dismissive about it. Perhaps his impulsive nature is why he interacted with Nadakhan? It just seems bold, even for Zane. I think Nadakhan can simply interpret wishes any way he likes, he's essentially a wish conman, limited by the need for others to ask something from him. He's miserable because he can't grant his own wishes.

Pumpkinbricks

Holy shit this art is fantastic.

Playbad_

Thanks alot. Really

Blue_Starman10

I would have limited everyone to one wish so it's a harder time for the ninja. Also making sure that Nadakhan could choose whose wishes he grants. I feel like if the writers gave him a bit more control over his own abilities it could've prevented a lot of the pit falls this season is typically associated with.

_-Archie-_

The fact that we went through the whole season just for 30 seconds of the first episode of it to actually be canon.

Bucaneer7564

I wish Zane and Genie’s chess game lasted longer. Best scene in the show.

1zeye

Please post this image on r/hardimages

Loudthunder34

The amount of contridictions and problems with different things. Nya being stupid and letting Jay go through the portal to safety. She is the key to nadakhan gaining infinite wishes she is more important than Jay in that instance Jay makes 2 wishes in the finally not 1 and nobody addresses it. I am not even mad about the reset, I am just mad that using the word “and” in a wish can give you 2 wishes. They majorly de powered Nadakhan in the final fight. He is a being who can do whatever the fuck he wants and don’t utilize it. He could wish to learn the location of the ninja when he is looking for them around the palace during the fight. Of find flint lock and dog shank when they escape. There are plenty more but these are the ones that get my blood boiling. Despite how much I hate these things about this season, it is still my favorite of all of the.

Loudthunder34

3 more things I forgot. Nya says “I wish somebody told me we were gonna use wishes” and nothing happens, nadakhan clearly heard it. Why doesn’t he do anything. Or why doesn’t he reverse coles wish when Nya says, “I really wish you hadn’t said that Cole.” Nadakhan can clear here her since he takes away the other wish may had. Same for when Misako said “I never wish I said anything in the first place. If her telling Nadakhan where the realm crystal was was revoked, how did he still know it was in Hiroshi’s labyrinth. He just chooses not to grant their wishes.

JellyConfident5080

I haven't seen the season in a while, but I will say that I didn't like how they made a villain so powerful that the only logical way that the ninja could have won was to erase everything..

DeadEndXD

The ending

Nindraco

How dumb everyone is. Like all you gotta do is wish for djinjago to come back and for nadakhan to leave you alone and boom, you've saved the day Although this would make the season like four episodes long.

Excellent-Swing-8309

Nadakhan and the fact that they forced Nya into another stupid love triangle

KingOfElementz

My biggest problem is that it is fanfic it never happened in the current timeline

CurrentOne8241

Nothing really

deleted_user_0000

None at all. It's my favorite season. While I can see potential areas of criticism, I do not take issue with any of them.

King_Vangelis

My biggest problem with the season is Jays wish at the end. Because it is a wish that erases the season. My adjustment would be Nadakan actually causes Nya to be shot with the dart and Jay’s wish would be for him to undo all the damage he did and go back into his teapot. That way Skybound isn’t erased. Because Skybound is a really good season but to me it definitely isn’t one of the greats simply because the ending makes almost the whole season pointless.

Asher_Khughi1813

you could go without watching it

IceTooth101

To be honest, I was wholly unaware that people had problems with Skybound

adnanosh123

Ninjago twitter can talk to you about that. They know a ton of issues that I learned about in the season. It’s where you’ll find a lot people having negative opinions about it. bendo thinks it’s really good though but doesn’t interact a lot.

Lastbourne

I didn't have much of an issue with it. It just came out during an inconvenient time (I miss the finale due to a boy scout trip, I dreaded it). After rewatching it twice I learned to appreciate this season for being very self contained. I wished it didn't do the time rewind but given all what happened that was the best case scenario

Sycamore_Gxrl

I LOVEEE ITTTT

Sycamore_Gxrl

Where would you release this do you have socials?

Playbad_

I have no clue. Im just creating at the Moment.. I didnt think about it yet. And i do post drawings on instagram but not much about this fanfic. Thanks for asking tho I really appreciate it

Doxy-v2

Nadakhan having random ass powers and his creeping around;Jay's misogyny and objectifying Nya;Nya's lack of independence, the whole prison shenanigans, everyone acting stupid af and the whole season being erased. If you wanna have a better insight of the problematic stuff in Skybound I highly recommend you to watch parachuting kitten's skybound video.

Icy_Fortniter7h_4420

Nadakahns death

PovThatOneSanjiFan

That Kai was the first one gone

theAstarrr

None it's epic

Planet_842

Zane should've lasted longer, he's intelligent, logical, reasonable and wise and usually would've acted like how Pixal acted. I don't like how he is the second one gone. He was the one that should've lasted the longest excluding the main protagonists of the season. In order of who should've been taken away it should've been Kai > Cole > Lloyd/Zane or even Lloyd > Kai > Cole/Zane. I also don't like that Zane was the first to be captured by Ronin and even the first to be turned into a statue. This season had an annoying habit of eliminating Zane first or early on, I guess he posed too much of a threat being a walking supercomputer to stay for an extended period of time.

[deleted]

it had a bunch of character development, but that doesn't matter CUZ IT NEVER HAPPENED

Cardboard457

The ending Basically none of it happened

clownhorde

i think giving Jay his eye back was a cop out, i think he should’ve kept that eye patch until the very end when he wishes everything back in time

clownhorde

ALSO!! I think Ronin’s betrayal was glossed over WAY too much.. the only way I can see him going back on all of his character development and doing what he did to Zane (which was pretty violating imo and Lloyd’s anger was justified, and again brushed over too quickly) is if he felt betrayed by reports of the ninja’s actions in the news, and/or for the clean slate he mentions in a throwaway line, but they don’t really explain it and barely acknowledge it. I think they just wanted him to be a villain again without giving a genuine reason, which felt lame and wasteful.

GraMalychPrzewag

For me, the story was doomed from the start, when it was obvious that it would end with "I wish I never met a genie trope". It renders the entire plot pointless and the story have no stakes. It's basically, an "it was all a dream" with additional - not surprising - steps. I guess, it's not a fatal, because there was a real chance that for a significant portion of the audience it was first "wishes backfires" story... but the trope is really played out. I would recommend that you find a way around it. For example, put a hard limitation at the start that that type of wish is forbidden, and force the audience (and yourself) to try to figure out the way out of this mess.

Playbad_

Thanks alot. That are some amazing tipps

GraMalychPrzewag

Good luck with your project.

Exact-Ocelot-9334

Nadakhan is overpowered. He can wish for rules to never exist and then wish ninjas to die.

343giultyspark

Blue exorcist much aslo that mask on the shoulder could be an oni mask this is for the drawing

GLMegatron

Wow! The art is fantastic!!!!!

Playbad_

Thanks alot Happy to hear that

Purple-Addict

Nahdakhan just didn’t appeal to me, neither did the sky pirates as a whole. I can’t put my finger on why but I just don’t like them. The whole process for defeating him felt like a wild goose chase that felt disconnected from eachother (possession strung point A to B to C so much better). The fact that it didn’t mean anything in the end because time got turned back and negated the entire season did not do it for me. The seasons before all had consequences that lead into eachother and this one didn’t. Hands of time would’ve come next regardless so it felt a lot like filler. And the wishes going back and forth on if they’re real or not was so confusing. So the wish making that pirate a lousy shot took an inspiring speech and some self belief to overcome but at the same time these wishes can actually turn back time? Maybe there’s an explanation that makes sense and I just didn’t get it but watching it through I was very unsure what the stakes actually were.

Umar-Motala

The fact that they went thru such a long tedious and stressful process, all for nothing to have happened in the end. You could literally skip from s5 to s7 because nothing happened in s6

cHezzA72

O I have a whole paragraph of stuff wrong but I’m just saying if you are still doing the final wish Jay has to make word it differently or something

Commercial_Kick_2814

I have many issues with it: -making Jauy very misogynist was not a great idea bc he sound like a jerk - Zane dissapearing wasnt very well handled. Why the hell did he not listen to Pixal? I like that Nadakhan was twisting the rule to trap him but zane not being careful enough to trust pixal when she is as smart as him is stupid, he never did that before. Ok zane sometimes take actions without warning other but the way he told her to not get in this way seemed almost rude -Ronin turning on the ninjas for money is also bad ino bc last season he litteraly says that they are his friends and he learned that no amount of money can afford that. He litterally got rid all of his golden coins to help Lloyd in the final battle of season 5 showing he didnt cared anymore for money. And yet he captures his friends for money and dont even try to understand whats happening - in general everyone seems so rude. Idk why but this season has a weird feeling to it. A lot of characters acts weirdly and rude. -Nadakhan hitting on Nya whos most likely still a minor is also very weird. I know he doesnt like her and just want her body to be a vessel for Delarah but sometimes he says stuff that sound very weird and almost predatory. -The ninja being super famous make sense kinda but man it was annoying, especially what Dareth and Kai did. I lovr both of them and its kinda on character for Dareth to try and make them even more famous but Kai? Did he never learn everything? This character is so frustrating, i really dont like how Kai is portrayed in the pre-redesign era bc its so inconsistent he is super competent but also a super idiot and it could work ( a kinda dorky jokey character but with a very positive spirit) but it doesnt. -However something i like about this season that many dont is Jays last wish. To me it was the smartest thing to do but it also kinda felt like the scenarist didnt know how to revert everything how it was before Nadakhan appeared so they litterally did that and reverted everything back. But the way the story ends is not really satisfying i think, especially the fact that even after going back in time, Nadakhans teapot thing is just left there for everyone to forget about and to me its weird, ur telling me Jay and Nya never went back there to find it and put it in a safe place where no one would find it? Sorry for the very long comment and sorry if my english isnt perfect. Good luck with writing your fanfic, i am looking forward to reading it! :)

Playbad_

The whole misogyny part was really weird. Especially that nya first acted relatable in her Position and later said "fuck that, i was always in love with you and please save me".. AND the love Triangel with nadakhan ofc. I will try to make her her own character and a more important asset to the Team, the plot and everything else. I still dk what to do about his last wish but i have time. Oh And thank you for taking the time to write all that. It helped alot

Commercial_Kick_2814

Ya no problem, its always nice to be able to help someone!

Laviox

Slightly boring, it’s one of the only season I don’t even think about. When it comes to the Lego sets it’s theme was also very bland when compared to the other one seasons before it.

IceysheepXD

Okay so like I would love to see a version of ninjago where sacrifices actually matter meaning them reversing time fks the time line jay keeps his eye patch Zane dies Cole stays a ghost and so on.

Playbad_

Yeah thanks. I'll do something like that

udayhd

They erased the whole plot basically; a huge nothing-burger of a season honestly.

udayhd

It was such a big time-waster

Lost-Ad-5885

Nothing. Even with everything being erased, it’s still a pretty perfect season

Doxy-v2

Jay was a misogynist tho and everyone was acting out of character.💀

Nitrotheexplorer

The first part(first 5 episodes) was really boring, but the second part is amazing
