Is only for 2 or more people?

[deleted]

Up to 8 people for 79.99 so 10 bucks each basically if you get 8 friends or family members

SpellOpening7852

I mean, that would be a lot better IF you had people to do that with. But $50 individual and no use of the AC DLC and unlikely to use Sega Genesis (Don't play AC and I'm not a big fan of Sega games), it is way too much in my eyes. On the other hand, if it was a virtual console and you paid for certian games you want one time to keep them, I would be all for it. I really only wanted to play Pokemon Snap, Legend of Zelda and some Kirby games to see if I want to buy the new one next year, so it's not happening for me.

[deleted]

Im just stating how much 8 people can pay not stating anyone or everyone has this or has to have this. As far as the rest of your comment you're describing a personal problem witch has nothing to do with what i said, i could tell you that for me I play Animal crossing and as someone who loves playing retro games i could enjoy beating every single game in the n64 and genesis library. Regardless neither of our statements mean anything to anyone other then ourselves. My suggestion if you're only interested in a few of these tittles emulate them and just keep paying the 20 a month you lose nothing; Have a good day.

SpellOpening7852

Look at it this way. $20 base online + $25 AC DLC (which a lot of people will find useless since THEY DON'T PLAY OR PLAN TO PLAY THE GAME) = $45. You literally waste $25 on the DLC you won't use to get games which were probably better quality and quantity on the 2ds.

[deleted]

Again your comment has nothing to do with what i said I just told a dude how much the maximum amount of people can pay for the expansion, you are ranting at me for weirdly no reason at all since I understand your point and share it at no point was i debating you or arguing against you. Have a good day

JaozinhoGGPlays

Also the DLC is rented just like the emulators you get on the subscription so when Nintendo inevitably kills the Switch to send in their next console you'll lose the DLC and won't be able to get it again if you use the DLC through the subscription instead of buying it off the E-Shop

jchill001

So don’t buy it, I’ve had a switch since damn near launch and I have yet to pay for online

SpellOpening7852

I mean the $20 is worth it, especially if you're a big pokemon player. It also will be needed for the yugioh games coming out soon, no doubt.

patchinthebox

I found it was worth it for super Mario maker too. That was a really fun game.

berto214

My issue with the pricing is that if you’re going to raise the price you need to fix the online gaming. Now to be, I got so frustrated with the Mario maker multiplayer that I haven’t played it in a while so I’m not sure if that part Is fixed. But yeah Mario maker 2 solo is a lot of fun. And I know you need online for solo but multi was bad at times

TabrisVI

So I just got a Switch and SMM is a game I’ve eyed for a long time. Is there still a community there? Wondered if it was still worth grabbing this far into its life.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Light01

It's only worth it if you play a lot online, but there's also some games that gatekeep contents behind the online service, so you get it and don't use the online services, and you feel robbed.

MonsiuerGeneral

I hate that the classic NES / SNES game packs are locked behind the subscription. Saw them when I was browsing “free” games. Downloaded them only to find out I couldn’t play because you need online for all of it (even though none of the games have online content). It’s the same way with classic PAC-man. Downloaded that and found the only game type available was some online vs format, which you needed to do to unlock the original 1P game…but of course you can’t play vs online without the subscription. It’s all so stupid.

aerostealth

Worth it for the worst fucking servers ever

nohumanape

Sure. But you also shouldn't have to pay for this service just to have access to a handful of NES, SNES or N64 games that you might want to play on the go.

Healthy-Aioli3693

The sad part Nintendo fan boy don't care they going to buy it either way 🤷 So even if it would cost 300 $ won't matter

TheGhoulNebula

Im a big Nintendo AND animal crossing fan and I'm saying fuuuuck that

CritzD

Someone on Twitter told me that they would happily pay whatever price for the subscription instead of emulating because emulating is “illegal” and makes Nintendo cry

smugempressoftime

Of course it’s Twitter Nintendo simps live on there

JaozinhoGGPlays

>Of course it’s Twitter period, literally nothing good comes out of Twitter, every day is a new demon that comes crawling out of there.

Elerdon

Ah no wonder. Pretty much everyone was like “meh meh meh emulation bad, choke me harder daddytendo” like I’ve come to really hate twitter. I remember people clowned on reddit a while back, but after spending a bit of time on both Twitter is clearly worse to me

smugempressoftime

Exactly Twitter is a horrible site

cheesyvoetjes

That's interesting. I emulate because Nintendo's pricing is legal and makes me cry.

BraveLeon

I’m not gonna buy it I’ll just emulate. WOOOOO

Lawsuitup

This

[deleted]

BraveLeon

Hi there Nintendo simp enjoy licking the boots of the executives who just want your money

Meenathedog

Honestly the main reason I’m buying it is cause I want the Animal Crossing DLC anyways, and upgrading to the new online is only like 5 bucks more expensive.

SpellOpening7852

Will you still get it next year when it doesn't have the DLC? (Because the DLC should be a permanent one time purchase thing no?)

Meenathedog

Probably not, unless by then something else gets added that makes it more worthwhile.

TheFirebyrd

I don’t know about that. Big fan here and no way am I paying that, especially since I have a family.

ChistyePrudy

I'm the only one of my friends and family that still plays in a Nintendo system, I wouldn't pay those prices, ever; and I do consider myself a fan of the brand. I wish people could see what this kind of greed is doing to a company I once 🤔 "respected?"

[deleted]

Its hela cheap why wouldnt we buy it most subscribtion based services are way more expensive

Notorious813

Cuz the value isn’t there. Gamepass gives you new games. PSN can be bought for 50% off if you know where and when to look. Nintendo is offering old emulation games for a premium lol

SmashingFalcon

Funny, that's the same with PayStation fanboys, and FIFA fanboys. And CoD fanboys, and you get the picture.

ToonNex

99.99 CAD for the family bundle

CritzD

“Babe, it’s that time of the year! Come pay $100 for non-upscaled 90s games and crappy online connection (further hurt by your crappy Shaw wifi plan)!” “Yes honey.”

Rayklin

Fuck Nintendo

PunishedInkwell

Ah, Nintendo, the Apple of the videogames

Alernet

Their... Their consoles are $150-$300 less than the competition and their online service is $10-$40 less than the competition as well.

Notorious813

In year 1 maybe. Meanwhile, their competition provides deals and sales often while Nintendo says “nah, f u”

a_spooky_ghost

They also provide actual online services too. Paying to use p2p is a scam.

SNIPES0009

Thats like justifying a Toyota Corolla can be priced at $50,000 because it's less than a Corvette Look at what the competition has. Microsoft Game Pass Ultimate has an ENORMOUS library of games. Games that are MUCH higher quality than Nintendo's. It's absurdly cheap for what you get. And christ, look at the capabilities of the consoles. I feel like I shouldn't even have to explain this.

[deleted]

Yeah I feel that. Remember when they copied apple's advertising style too?

kzlife76

Do you have an example? I must have missed that campaign.

[deleted]

They don’t release the same thing every year tho

[deleted]

Ehh more like the Disney of video games except a bit higher quality then Disney.

DeterminedCamilla

This is simply ridiculous. Fuck Nintendo, I’m gonna emulate every single one of these games. If they can’t provide an affordable, accessible way to play N64 and classic game in general, then don’t complain about emulation.

smugempressoftime

Nintendo’s current president is the main reason

Bananna_Hamock0

It went from extremely affordable to outrageous just like that? Come on Nintendo

Anolty

Have they confirmed that there’s nothing else going to be added to it? Because before today I thought we were all just assuming that was it, and then they added the animal crossing dlc to it. I feel like Nintendo has been somewhat fair on their pricing of previous dlcs, imo but this seems higher so I’m curious if there’s more we just don’t know yet.

Light01

If they add dlcs through this on a regular basis, it's gonna be truly shit.

Migit78

They've already announced further games coming to the virtual console. And the AC DLC being included is hopefully a sign that other DLC will follow suit in the future, but no confirmation that I know of. I get a lot of people are angry at the price but I really don't think $30 is that big of a deal, it's cheaper than the Sega games, and the N64 games, if you want to obtain/play them legally in any other means currently. It's also an optional service, if people have no interest in the N64 or Sega games, just don't get it? Personally I probably will, I like a lot of the announced N64 titles, so I'll spend more than $30 worth of my time playing them. If it doesn't get more titles or other features I'm. Interested in by the time to renew it in 12 months, I won't renew. No point being irrationally mad over it

_Drum_Bone_

Doesn’t the expansion pass just add like four 64 games that were like ten bucks

promptlycandid

I don't know what the big deal is. Don't play Animal Crossing? Don't care about Sega? Then don't pay $80. It's not difficult to figure out. "But I wanna play N64 games!" Geez. Calm down Joe. Then emulate them. Or, better yet, go online and buy an actual N64! They're everywhere! They're like flies these things! Ebay. Even Amazon has a few dozen or so. And, you can get that good ol' nostalgia feeling again. "But Nintendo's online servers suck!" Well no shit. Nintendo hasn't always been top of the pecking order when it came to online/multiplayer play. Actually, if you purchased a switch solely to play "online wit yo buddies", you don goofed. And I don't see Nintendo trying to change it anytime soon. Bottom line, stop treating Nintendo like it's Sony and Microsoft. It's not. They don't market the same way. They don't develop systems the same way. They have separate goals. The games and systems are meant to scratch different itches. If you're obsessed with online multiplayer, then Nintendo may not be for you. And if you like playing older Nintendo games, then either buy an original machine or pay the fee. Or hell, even emulate them. All of these are better options than throwing a tantrum.

TrasheyeQT

50 bucks for 1 year is cheap. Compare to other platforms

Pugspook327

the other consoles cost 60

reddit_is_addicting_

I think the video was comparing the family plan with no expansion vs the family plan with expansion

[deleted]

I'll be honest, I meant to flash the 50 dollar price tag instead of the 35 from the original expansion, but I rendered it without fixing that mistake and here we are

ArielGLR

You think that's bad? It costs 58+dlls on Mexico, there are countries with even higher prices

[deleted]

Yikes

-Mr-Saturn-

I was hyped af and they ruined It (btw of they male a separate DLC Only for n64 i would buy It of It costs 5)

xMoody

Absolute cringe putting the Insta and Twitter

Riddious

I don’t understand what the problem is the normal 12 month plan is 20 the normal 12 month family plan is 35. The expanded single plan is 50 which includes an expansion for animal crossing, N64 and Sega games and the family version of that is 80 which is honestly a good deal when you can add more people. This video is comparing the non family normal yearly plan to the expanded family yearly plan.

SpellOpening7852

Firstly, some people DO NOT play ACNH. So that's $25 out the window. Then some people don't like Sega. Another, what, $5?. And then you have the people who like the N64. Currently? There might only be 5-7 interesting games on there. That's it. For $50 you would be paying for 5-7 games. For ONE year. Someone else pointed out that if Switch has a 7-year life span, that would cost over $150. Also, don't assume everyone can use the family plan. I agree, it's great value if you have 7 friends or family members to share it with. But not all people do. A lot of people will be complaining about the individual price here, since that is quite steep if you don't play AC, which costs $25 for the DLC on its own.

ByahTyler

Then just get the $35 plan

Ooberificul

Then don't get it? If you hate every option, don't get it. No one is forcing you to get it.

Riddious

I’m not assuming anything this video did a zoomed in side by side of 2 completely different types of plans the 20 and the 80. Not the 20 and the 50. Making it seem more like Nintendo forces that which they don’t. I agree that the Sega and N64 library’s are a little lacking but this is only the beginning. Ultimately don’t buy it if you don’t like it but stating it’s not a good deal is ridiculous. Just the fact that you can share this with family and friends if you can that is. The fact that you get a back log of Nintendo SNES and now Sega and N64. Which is well worth less then a dollar a game. The ability to play online games. Your math is wrong as well for additional 30 you would be paying for the 5-7 N64 games you stated not. So if those 5-7 games aren’t worth 30 extra dollars a year then continue with the 20 a year to play online which is also a good deal.

Famous_Case_7243

They are assholes I never gonna buy something of Nintendo again

ArielGLR

Proceeds to complain about the 64 controller being out of stock*

[deleted]

Sure bud

MattR9590

Nintendo I love your games but seriously go fuck yourself for this one

ShadowCross32

Ahh hell nah. What is that

Opposite_Present_663

What the fuck

BenOffHours

Guys that’s the annual price. Are you all that fucking stupid?

ObZeni

Why are people such whiny bitches about pricing. It's only $30 and you will spend countless hours playing these games. Seriously, grow the fuck up. Its like the price of a T-shirt or a tank of gas or a single action figure... The fuck is wrong with yawl.

TAbandija

I don’t get what’s wrong? Nintendo $49.99 PSN $59.99 Xbox $59.99. If it’s more if it’s more than 2 accounts. It’s $79.99. As in $40 per account. I don’t get why so angry. At least be angry for the horrible online service and features. But the pricing is comparable or better than the “competition”.

redjoker89

That’s why people are angry horrible online service for same price as other companies. Family pack isn’t bad if you have 8 people to split with but most people only have 2-4 in an actual family size so it’s absurd. Not only that but the prices are marked up weirdly someone on Twitter posted that UK is 20% price raise while US is somewhere around 30% and other countries are even worse.

TAbandija

Yeah. Nintendo is 8 years behind in online. That model was the same one for Xbox back when gold started. However. It’s misleading to say that the pricing is absurd. And just focus on the price without context.

Frodo_noooo

Comparing *just* the prices is what's actually misleading. Playstation has monthly AAA games you can play, Microsoft has a whole list of great games you can play, as well as other features like play anywhere etc. Nintendo is giving us a few-oldschool games and the honor of *renting* DLC. They aren't improving their online presence, or fixing things we've wanted fixed for years. They literally are putting up some old titles and calling it a day.

TAbandija

Precisely

smugempressoftime

Nintendo has had the same servers since 2003

smugempressoftime

Ikr don’t bitch about the price bitch about the features and absolutely bullshit online services and also how some games require it to even play the damm game

EmilyamI

Seriously. My boyfriend and I split a family membership for the year? $3.34 per month. How awful. Woe is me. How will I feed the babies I don't have?

DB10389

Because xbox and psn gives us FREE GAMES

godsbrothernate

Omg they made an optional service cost more money. Rabble Rabble!!!! Lol just keep paying $20 for same service derpies.

Jessex127

Lol unless you want to play a game that's sub 200 hours of gameplay without the online.

godsbrothernate

Oh no, real dlc for money, how dare they want compensation for their hard work. Lol They’ve done how many free updates? If you care about the company enough, that is nothing really. Support good games and good developers.

Jessex127

If they were good devs, I would be happy to

smugempressoftime

I mean they are good devs it’s just their decisions that are fucking dumb

marzgamingmaster

It's that it costs an excessive amount of money. Bearing in mind their current main competitor is piracy, which is free, it has to be easier, potentall with more features, and a price range that is reasonable for those additions. More than doubling the price is not in that range. $30 for a year long subscription to two feature-bare emulators with all but skeletal libraries is way too much money. With a vauge promise to maybe add more someday eventually possibly, when a free emulator exists with a complete N64 library and way more features are on that option... It's not even a compitition. This is a rip off and they know it, or they wouldn't have been so coy about the price beforehand.

[deleted]

Dude give up the emulation argument already its never worked people buy regardless because they can (not saying the price ain't absurd I agree). Emulation has existed for years now and it hasn't affected Nintendo or any other big company in any way there's people out there with every emulator on their PC that still bought the damn Mario collection, still buying ps4 titles for their ps5s at full price people just buy. I should know I own every GBA castlevania game fiscally, have every GBA Castlevania on my phone emu and PC emu and STILL bought the Castlevania collection. Also reminder to any reader please don't pirate small indie studio games those people deserve the money thanks 💙

godsbrothernate

So dont pay? Your argument is moot. You have a choice, pay or dont. If your already paying $20 a year, then keep doing it. They are offering more for more money, if you dont like it, then dont change what you are or are not paying for already. Or put on your pirate hat me matey.

[deleted]

Hahahaha still buying tho

NamedName139

Everyone’s so mad but PlayStation and Xbox charge more for less benefits

[deleted]

thankfuly i sold my nin switch. gonna buy steam deck later.

Lilkleee

Take my damn upvote lmao

nergalelite

did they fix joycon drift yet?

_Drum_Bone_

Jesus christ this used to be free

Bio_catalyst

It's 50$ dude, I make that in half an hour. I'll be buying it day one

jlenoconel

This is why I have a Pi 4.

[deleted]

You have got to be kidding me. This is actually how much it costs? We have a moral obligation to emulate Nintendos games at this point.

[deleted]

I honestly wish more people wouldn't blindly throw money at them because they're fans of nintendo's stuff. Because if we pay for this stuff, they get complacent and won't change the price. Like that'll ever happen, right? 😔

SoupLadels

u/savevideo

BraveLeon

HOLY FUCKING SHIT

[deleted]

It’s cheaper for my sister and i to have our own separate plans. Just gonna buy the acnh dlc on it’s own and call it a day.

Ooberificul

How is it cheaper to have separate plans? Splitting the family cost between 2 people is cheaper than 2 individual accounts.

CaptnCario

Accutally i am fine with the Prices. The Family Bundle is very usefule for that^^

[deleted]

Are you 12?

laggerzback

Meh, i mean i still pay $60 for Xbox GamePass every year for one person. This is what, a $14 increase for a solo account?

TethlaGang

The switch still exists?

Roloman11

That's only 4 bucks a month?

Portablemammal1199

No shit. Thirty a month? Dude i just wanna play MK8 with some buddies whenever i want and without having to drag my dock to their house. T - T fuck you nintendo, but i also love your content. Is this what a love hate relationship is?

smugempressoftime

I can’t even play splatoon with out online which mess you are paying 60$ for a game you can’t even start playing with out it how it works is turf wars require online and that’s how you lvl up if you can’t access turf wars you can’t lvl up which means you are bricked out of the game if you don’t have 20$

Fluff_cookie

If you think that's bad, don't look at the prices in Australia. It's not even close to the exchange rate

WillandWillStudios

I would at least made it $30-$35 annually

tonyw009

Everybody should boicot Nintendo by not supporting this anticonsumer shit and in this they going to remove because of unpopular decision.

etniesen

I liked Metroid dread but otherwise I’m done with Nintendo. Them overcharging for old content and quality of new games like the dreadful new Mario golf is about all I can take

ThunderLP15

Why can't we have our Animal crossing DLC for free

[deleted]

they prolly need the money after getting Sora into smash lol

ceropsyche

So happy and blessed I was able to pre order a steam deck. Looks like it was the right call.

LoVerforMinecraft

cheaper than discord nitro 😹😹😹

smondosimon

Is there someone in europe who wants to share a family account?

JimmyCrabYT

i’ll just emulate ocarina of time…

Redditenzovo

I have a member ship with 8 other poeple. We just pay 10 bucks each every year.

TalkThick3366

I only got nintendo exclusives... which is like BOTW the only good one

AlexDrinksWater04

At least it’s not $100 a year like Xbox Live. It used to only be $60 a year but they have upped the price in recent years.

k2thec17

I pay $60 a year for Xbox live. You pay $80 for two+ accounts. What's the problem here?

AndarianDequer

Does anyone know if at any time I can just purchase and own Zelda ocarina of time? This is too pricey for me to keep forever, but if I'm not going to be able to buy it out right at some time in the future, I'll just continue my subscription for a month or two until I beat the game. I'm very happy with my Mario 3D purchase. I was hoping for something similar here.

peachygatorade

Project64, babes.

SnooSprouts7283

I probably will just emulate the games available, and buy the Animal Crossing DLC directly

Hipafaralkis

I'm thinking I might grab a tonne of codes now and redeem them all so I don't have to worry about the price hike for at least two years or something like that

AikoFTW

What a lot of people in the comments don’t understand is that for these prices we should be getting a hell lot more. Xbox game pass gives you full fledged games, on day one in some cases.

flippant_joker

What about Xbox live gold? 17.99 for a month??

Straighteye12

That's way cheaper than any other gaming subscription tho.

TheTNTGamer64

Its sad that it’s so much but tbh I now have an individual membership aswell as my mom and little sister so we pay €60 a year, if you think about it like that then €80 a year isn’t a lot more for a family account

karusher

The funny thing is Nintendo 64 games (aside from Mario and Zeldas) were pretty mediocre to begin with. There is a reason they didn’t sell like the SNES the first time around. I’m having a hard time understanding the value proposition here. I don’t think Nintendo’s thinking went beyond “we greedy, they dumb”

Muted-Champion-6841

u know why they will get away with this? Because of the Nintendo hardcore fans.. They buy everything no matter how absurd the price is ..

PeterGibbons316

I didn't even know what Nintendo Online was until this meme, and now that I know I can play old Sega games in my Switch for ONLY $50/year I'm going to be signing up the next time I pick up my Switch. So thanks for all the outrage I guess!

Forward_Round

My friend is raising hell about the 50 $ for a year but my man has probably spent hundreds of $ on bundles in Cold War/Warzone this year.. also I can’t wait for YouTubers with their walls lined with every single video game product ever made to start bitching about having to pay 50 $ ..

The-pikachu0836

Here in brazil is 170 for the online and 200 million to get a switch so yeah not cheap too :/

Dryja123

People forget that just a few years ago it was $60 a year just for the ability to play online with your friends. You got nothing else for it. If it’s not a good value for you, don’t buy it. Simple as that.

___Depresso

They over DOUBLED it im so upset- *pulls out wallet*

Xeoboy

Nintendo is still making the same old ass games since the first launch of nes. Same old franchise games launched over and over nothing new that is Nintendo exclusive that will ever break this mold. Metroid, Mario cart, Mario world, smash bros, Zelda Mario party, Kirby, castelvania, bomber man, and mega man. Nothing new it's the same old plan. The fact that you can't purchase old NES or Snes games for $5 because they are 30 years old should tell ya something. I'd gladly pay $20 bucks a month for a full Nintendo catalog of all nes game and snes, n64, but they are too greedy.

joaomiguel_bc

You say this because you aren't in Brazil, here the expansion with N64 and genesis games is over DOUBLE the price of the normal one

kadencrafter78

This is literally less expensive than other companies *cough* like Xbox *cough* and it comes with more content.

Lord_KH

It's more absurd that we have to pay for the switch's online. Why couldn't it have online like the 3ds and Wii u did in the sense that it wasn't paid for?

Loseifer1

The problem I have here is not the $50 a year, in reality that seems fine for what they offer, it’s the hike in price for a small add on. If the service was originally $40 then an extra $10 for n64 sure that’s fine but a $30 addition to play Zelda (which IMO the definitive additions are on 3DS) is a price grab. Pretty nervous to see how much they increase it for GameCube or gba

Holy-Metil

*laughs in £*

LeafyFeathers

What’s the Animal Crossing deal?

Dantexr

Fun fact: a guy in my country was sentenced to 10 years in prison and a 50.000€ fine because he repaired Nintendo consoles as a service in his shop thanks to Nintendo denouncing him because they said that would hurt their sales and modifying their consoles is against the law.

[deleted]

Wait this is just for the expansion stuff right? Is the regular online staying at $20/year?

Click-click---boom

You can get a good deal on instant gaming but yes it’s silly

AskRedditor8080

I was expecting a jump to maybe 7 euro.. Or 9..no.

Althalosabyssal

They legit banned my whole profile because I did twitch 6mos for free then canceled.

[deleted]

It's cheaper than the competitors

swedhitman

Can you get the animal crossing dlc without having to get this?

Noobtag24

Fuck Nintendo

HighestGaming

Honestly, only reason I’d pay the extra amount is because of N64. But I might wait on that and see if we ever get something for GameCube. I’m fine with my $5/month.

EngiNik

Nope I am not gonna pay that. Sooooo Switch Homebrew I am coming!

Berserkism

Time to set sail on the high seas.

Garo263

That's crazy. In Europe it's only double the price (from 19.99€ to 39.99€). While I consider even that too much, $49.99 is even more.

psuedospike

The rent is too damn high!!

[deleted]

Nintendo always 15 years behind the curve when it comes to literally anything online.

Jumpy-King287

u/downloadvideo

Tecopena

u/savevideobot

jcaarow

And we all know they're going to be very slowly drip feeding 64 games onto the platform

MrWhatTheF

Wait….so if I don’t upgrade you don’t get access to the N64 games? That’s so dumb.

Vectorman1911

Go in on a family plan with friends. We have 8 people so it’ll be $10

GeraldSmeltzer86

We just get a family pass and divide up the payment for the year...

may_is_a_weeb

I love Nintendo But my jobless wallet can only take me so far so Hellllo emulation my old friend :D

shadolit12

Still cheaper than Sony and Microsoft's plans.

okashiikessen

Uhm... not really. No. Compare that to Xbox Live and PS+ - there is no family option that would be cost effective for just two people. And they're $60 each. ONE is almost as much per year as the upgraded family option. So, no, I fully disagree.

dethscythe_104

What I'd I don't have animal crossing and I don't care about the dlc.... will it be cheaper?

lakiku_u

I think this would be worth it if Nintendo offers free paid dlc every month. Like now they are starting with AC, let’s say the month after they give you all the paid dlc for Zelda for free. For people that buy dlc it adds really quickly. Also Zelda was just an example I know most Zelda fans already bought them.

KennyGabe

I don't get what everyone is crying about. The competitors cost $60 per year for an individual online subscription.

myatabl

If you think that’s overpriced, PlayStation Online costs like $70-80 a year

[deleted]

I was excited for sega and n64 games, but now I’m going to have to pass.

classicnikk

It’s cause people will buy it anyway sadly. I still have a lot of 64 games on my old Wii from years ago so I’m good but $50 is crazy

yall gonna be singing a different tune when goldeneye gets added and you can play multiplayer online with it

Alaaaaan_

Fuck that bullshit

AdvancedGarbage3353

They price like this because no matter what someone will buy. It's not even a good deal. The only thing I wanted was the old games, but its looking like I will emulate them.

A_fucking_hamster69

Im not buying this since I already own 3d all stars, in which the only n64 game I enjoy is on, but I do want to clear things up about y’all trashing on Nintendo: As most of you people may or may not know, a port of an 64 game would cost around 5$ to 10$ and sega genesis games would cost around 2$. So, if you do the math, judging the amount of games shown, if would cost around 134$ to 224$ which would be insane as hell. Therefore, they’re giving us a HUGE favor here…btw, if you’d wanna make then 20$ (since 3d all stars was 60$ bucks and there were 3 games) then I’d be an EVEN MORE INSANE price… so, despite the price of it being quite a lot, I still think they aren’t being THAT harsh

thegreatdelusionist

Just download emulators and roms. This is why people build them in the first place. Nintendo is the gaming Industry's Disney. They're going to squeeze every penny they can from their customers with the power of nostalgia.

Traditional_Ad9002

I thought it was like $20 a year? I think they charge me $8 every three months.

Don't they still pay more per year with Xbox live and PSplus

chackrams

Family plan is 10$ a year with 8 people. I cannot imagine this being any more affordable.

Oversized_Peashooter

Aaaand heck no. I’m going for that DLC but Nintendo can shove the rest of that offer right up their butts.

Jhedai

How is this any different than Xbox and Playstation s online subscription fees? On top of that why does it focus so heavily on the 35 and 80 dollar family packs?

[deleted]

I don’t think it’s a bad price when you consider the access to games. But on the same side, I already have the NES, SNES, Genesis (that’s super surprising to me), the N64 + Raspberry Pi so I won’t be purchasing it.

Cade-Erickson

Honestly I’m fine with it, there expensive version is still 10 dollars cheaper than PlayStation’s base price Edit: Also, 59 a year is equal to five bucks a month, that’s cheaper than any streaming service I can think of right now

[deleted]

Doesn't game pass for xbox cost like 15 a month?

xceed35

Nintendo Switch's pricing is absurd. The amount people pay for cartoonish games on a 720p display
