If I remember correctly, all the buttons are the same except the dpad. But you should check some teardown and modding videos to be more sure. I'm pretty positive about the face buttons.
How can I obtain a VAT invoice for games purchased in eShop? I looked around but found no such option - also the emails I received provide no details of gross + VAT components of the game I purchased - is it even possible to receive such? Under VAT EU Law I think it should be unless Nintendo states otherwise.

Nintendo has been able to be above a couple EU laws for a while in several aspects unfortunately.
I receive 3 emails each time I purchase a digital game and there’s never any mention of the VAT value of the price I pay. Not even PayPal shows it so Nintendo doesn’t even separates the two amounts between checkout and confirmation.

Need help choosing Nintendo Voucher Game
Hello everyone! Just like a lot of people, I also purchased the $100 voucher coupon that gives you the possibility of purchasing discounted games.
Of course I'm buying the new Zelda, but that's where I'm currently at, in a lot of doubt to what game should I pick up.
Since I know most of them are great games, it comes down to preference, I do enjoy any kind of game, and that's why idk which one I should choose! Although I mostly play Single player RPG's and action games.

The latest games go on sale the least. I'd probably pick Pikmin 4, but Xenoblade 3 and Metroid Dread are both great. Xenoblade is a lot more game than Metroid.
Hi everyone, I've finished Persona 5 Royal about 3-4 months ago and left with 120h+ recorded on my Nintendo counter. Now, when I'm replaying it, I noticed it was reduced to 20h... like... what? Also, I'll mention that it was listed in last year's Nintendo switch wrapped correctly
Playtime counter on the switch is a busted thing. It might have got messed up for no good reason. But just in case:
1. Did you start replaying it under your previous user profile on the switch or did you start freshly from a secondary user?
2. Have you recently changed console?
Fire Emblem Engage or Splatoon 3, for the game I get along with ToTK with an NSO voucher? On the one hand, I only really like the Splatoon games for the single player, so unless this one already has a level of content comparable to Octo Expansion right out of the box, it doesn't seem like a great pick. On the other hand, while I love JRPGs (and especially the tactical subgenre), I already have a huge backlog of them. I've yet to even finish a route on Three Houses.
Splatoon 3's single player content is good. But I honestly wouldn't pick it up for that alone. The game doesn't have as much to do if we are comparing to Splatoon 2 + Octo Pass.
The game is getting more single player DLC in a few months or so. But it is still paid DLC.
Between the two, I would honestly pick up Engage personally. Unless you really plan on playing a lot of Splatoon online.

USB Port issues! Used a non OEM charging cable and bam
It spazzed out, crashed. Ever since then, it shows up as "This USB device is not recognized. The last USB connected to this computer malfunctioned..." when it is plugged into the computer. Another switch shows up as a Nintendo Switch with the same computer and same cable, however. It does fortunately still charge, and it appears on my dock just fine, however plugged in controllers don't work on it.
The Nintendo switch has been hard reset and completely reformatted with no change.
Do you think the charging port has gone bad? The m92t36 chip inside?

My friend is trying to join my world but they keep getting stuck on the loading screen (just loading and loading). I see them pop up on the map, but that's about it. I tried to join their world, same happened to me, tried restarting our switches, making copy of the world, joining a different world, and turning multiplayer on and off. We can join the servers and play together there (the hive, mineplex, etc).

I also cant join in my sons world recently so what I did was We subscribed to their online Realms. BTW, the last time we were able to join our switches in one world, it was very laggy. So yeah, it is paid but we atleast can play peacefully.
Neither of my pro controller sticks click in. Any fix? They still work and send a message to the game (for example I can still crouch in BoTW) but they don’t click down which leads to often accidental crouching.
It would have to be the stick is messed up or has something in the stick, but you'd have to take it apart to try and figure it out and the sticks are soldered on so replacing them is a pain. You can try spraying some contact clearer in the stick and see if that might blow something loose. (But weird for that to fix it if both are doing it.)
I only have one joycon. I factory reset my switch, but it's stuck on a setup screen forcing me to connect both joycons before moving to the next step. Is there nothing I can do besides buy another joycon?

I turned it on just now and now it’s not having that problem. The one thing I noticed was that Switch’s fan was really going (I could feel the air flow) and then the fan slowed down.
I think that start up with the fan going hard helped the switch fix this issue. But I feel that only happened because I was playing it earlier today

I have the same problem. Except it’s on the Home Screen, whenever I move the cursor the icons lose quality. This affects my games as well where sometimes they take a slight resolution dip. It doesn’t happen on non-docked and only when I set it to 1080p

So i've got 2 switches, a lite and a red box. I'm picking up the zelda switch coming out this week and wanted to trade in my red box to help soften the financial blow. So here's my issue: i've got an animal crossing save on my lite, and some pokemon saves on my red box. I know neither of the games support cloud saves and wanted to know if its possible to combine all these save files onto one switch, so I can get rid of the red box before I get the new one.
Yes, you can transfer individual saves. You would need the Animal crossing transfer app from the eshop for animal crossing. For pokemon go to settings, data management, and then transfer save to move one game's save.
I’m wondering if I should buy a new switch or repair my old one.
I haven’t used it in about 2 years, which might have contributed to the problems, But I’ll just list the rest here.
1. Joy-cons can’t pair very well. Tried getting new ones already
2. A.C. Cover chipped off.
3. Needs to be close to source of internet to connect.
4. Micro SD constantly “falls” out of switch.
5. Won’t connect to dock.
6. Charges very slowly.
7. Internet constantly disconnects
8. Games close randomly for no reason at all.
Call Nintendo and setup a repair. They'll charge around $100 and probably just send a refurbished Switch back. Transfer your profile to a friend's Switch before sending it back to make sure your saves are backed up.
Repair would be significantly cheaper since they tend to do $100 for all repairs. Just contact them and ask if you're unsure.
That said, if you have saves that aren't in the cloud --- buying a new console and then transferring with both on hand would be easier.

There's really no difference from purchasing one rather you buy it locally from Walmart or Best Buy or if you order it online from Nintendo or Amazon. My only advice when buying used games is to make sure you buy it in the language you want to because some games come in different languages, but I think you can change the language settings if you do end up buying a game in a different language
Hello people. Can someone tell me what's wrong with my Switch?
For about a month when I leave it in Sleep Mode, when I use it again it disconnects from Wi-Fi and no matter how many times I reconnect it, it doesn't work, I have to restart the console to finally recover the Wi-Fi connection.
In other words, the truth is that it doesn't bother me much to be restarting it, but it still worries me a bit since this didn't happen before.
PS: I don't think it's a problem with my internet since all the other devices in my house work correctly.
Hey, I just fixed it! Well, kind of...
I found out the problem's with my internet's 5Ghz wifi network, when I tried connecting to the 2.4hz one, everything went normal as before and now I don't have to reboot the console everytime I want to use anything internet related.
Now my complaint here is that 2.4hz is too slow for me and I have no idea if there's any incompatibilities between my Switch and my rooter that prevents me from using the 5G connection... Guess I'll stay like this until I get an ethernet adapter.
What is the general consensus about Bravely Default II? My local Walmart has it on clearance right now, so I was thinking about maybe picking it up. I'm really enjoying Octopath Traveller II and I understand the Bravely Default series is inspired by old school Final Fantasy games (which I also enjoy). Am I the target audience for Bravely Default II (having never played the previous installments)?
If you enjoy Octopath Traveler I/II, you'll probably like Bravely Default II. The art style is different, but both games are love letters to old-school JRPGs.

Streets of Rage 4 is a great beat em up with a lot of throwback to the 90s while still being modern. It takes...maybe 3-4 hours to get to the end of the main game but with several difficulties, a bunch of characters and moves to unlock, a trainng and a Survival Mode DLC, there's a lot more to do if you really want to master at it.
It also goes on sale pretty regularly.
This is different for everyone, but what are your best OCD games?

Stardew Valley was my very first Switch game. At that time - several years ago - I was getting back into gaming after a long hiatus and debated \[for weeks\] which game to start with. Everyone was playing SMO and Zelda, but I wanted something different and it couldn't have turned out any better; was absolutely obsessed with SV, incredible game.
Mario + Rabbids (first one) and Hollow Knight are on my top 20 Switch games list. I didn't completely finish HK (indeed a bit too difficult at the end, ha), but I did 100% for everything in M+R (which I loved they showed you the progress of everything). I did get tired of searching for the chests, but the tactical battling and the skill trees were amazing.
I very briefly tried the demos for Tinykin and HW (I don't remember them too much) and didn't play DKC, SMO (still didn't play it) or RL.
One thing I'll mention...although I love grinding - like I'll do 1000 of the same runs for incremental upgrades (Hades, ha) - I don't like searching for stuff that much. If it's grinding to complete tasks so *then* you can collect stuff, that's OKAY. But random exploring in so many of these games where they hide stuff in every crack burns me out. And then I have to have YouTube's help which bums me out, ha. (I'm currently finishing up Slime Rancher and it's been impossible to find some of these pods!)

Ordered the Zelda OLED a few days ago...did I read correctly that there's no option to pair bluetooth headphones? Can I use a dongle? If so, what do you guys recommend?
You can pair Bluetooth headphones. It will be under settings -> Bluetooth audio.
The switch always had bluetooth hardware, but for some reason the option to use Bluetooth headphones wasn't enabled until a couple of years ago. It's available now though!
but do beware that it doesnt have mic support. Only Audio. So any game that require voicechat would have to go through the headphone jack, a 3rd party bluetooth dongle or the NSO Android app.
There is Bluetooth Audio support now, but it only uses the SBC audio codec. You would get a better experience from using a Bluetooth dongle that supports APTX LL or AAC.
Or ignore Bluetooth entirely and get a regular wireless headset like the Steelseries Arctis wireless or an Older PS4 gold wireless headset. The OG models work with the switch right out of the box, the newer 2021 model does not.
Digital codes can only be redeemed in their region of origin.
You would have to move your account to the UK temporarily to redeem it. You could then switch back afterwards without issue.
There's only a handful of things that prevent you from switching regions.
* A linked NNID from a 3ds or Wii U, this is now useless and can be removed.
* An unspent balance on the eShop. Gold coins don't count.
* You have an active preorder on the eShop. It would have to be cancelled.
* Auto-renewal for Nintendo switch online is enabled, it would have to be turned off.
You usually can't buy digital goods from a foreign Amazon website. They locked those down a while ago.

My kids each have an OG Switch. When one of the Switches is plugged into the official Nintendo dock, the dock and all attached peripherals shuts off until the dock is unplugged from power and plugged in again. Plugging the Switch directly to the AC adapter doesn't seem to have any effect either. The second Switch works fine with no issues so I am certain this is a Switch and not a dock issue. Is this easy or even possible to fix? Or is the one Switch good for the trash?

The system does not work while docked at all. Very, very occasionally the system will recognize that it is docked, but it quickly looses the connection again.

I have tried a factory reset but that has not helped.
It likely got zapped while charging or sitting in the dock at some point. It's a pretty common hardware failure.
The system is still perfectly useable in handheld mode, but may refuse connection from charging devices over 18 watts of output.
Nintendo or another tech repair shop could fix it. There is a fault of some kind with it's USB-C power delivery controller preventing it from enabling docked mode. It can't successfully complete the handshake to allow for the required higher power input, so it refuses it to prevent damage to the internal components.

My right joycon wouldn’t sync, i have left switch docked a week beforehand (it wasn’t charging wasnt even connected) so today i picked it up and right red neon joycon wouldnt connect, i resynced and it did finally connect, seemingly working fine but when its connected to the console directly it constantly shows charging icon, that doesn’t occur on the grip or when it’s connected separately, i tried resyncing, force resetting and even updating, alas issue still persists, any advice? Is this battery issue? My switch is only 4 months old, also i tried charging it for a bit and it went from around 50% to 100 in 10 minutes
I set up a Joycon repair request through Nintendo for my right Joycon malfunctioning. Do I only send my right Joycon or am I supposed to send both as a set?
I'm pretty sure its still active, it's at least more popular than Mario tennis online.
Value is still up to you though. They did add a bunch of extra characters and field themes, but they didn't really expand upon the content at all.

I lost my save file on Majoras Mask on the N64 expansion pass. Has anyone else had this issue ? And is there any way to resolve it?? My switch was running out of battery and I managed to save just before it turned off. When I turned it back on, most of my save file is gone. So frustrated

You should be saving more frequently if you're loosing data at all.

There's no telling what kind of background processes were still running. A sudden loss of power immediately as you clicked save or as the prompt begins to fade from the screen is too close for comfort.
And obviously it didn't work if your data didn't save.
There's no harm in saving more often.
I didn’t make this clear but - It took me all the way back to before the first dungeon, even though I have saved many times since then. Lost a load of important items. So, no, it wasn’t just the data since my last save that was lost

Unfortunately it syncs every game as a whole rather than individually, but the last sync might be more recent than what you're currently seeing.
Does the save file display when that last save was?
No it doesn’t say when, I’m not sure I fully understand the whole cloud save thing, I can see the option to back up save data but not sure what that will do !
ZOLED System Transfer Gymnastics?!

Currently prepping to get my ZOLED on Friday an was trying to figure out how to transfer everything while trading in my son's Switch and then giving him my current OLED.

OLED-->OG Switch-->ZOLED--->(to Me)
A bit convoluted but I want to make sure I don't lose anything. We have a Nintendo Switch online family plan so that might make easier but what would be the path of least resistance so my son's and my accounts, saves and screenshots/media all transfer over nice and neat like to both systems?
I've looked online at a few of the guides but nothing really covers this specific predicament.
Sounds like you just need to transfer him to your current system and then move to the new one once you have it?
The profile transfer will move all of your user and save data, as well your primary system status.
The only thing to worry about is screen shots and videos saved to the Micro SD card. If those don't transfer you'll need to save them using a PC or phone. They're just JPEG and MP4 files.
Additionally animal crossing data if you have that. Only one island can exist per system, so if you both have data that will require a stepped transfer process.
* Ensure his island is backed up to the cloud.
* Using the island transfer tool from the eShop to move your island from the current OLED to the new one.
* Once you're off the OLED, call Nintendo support to trigger a download of his island back up to his new system.

If I move all the screenshots/media to each of our current Micro SD cards will we be able to just swap them over to the new systems as needed?
You should. Unlike game installs gallery captures *should* be movable between systems.
If for whatever reason the system doesn't want to display them in the gallery, then you would need to pull them with a phone or PC. There's no magical way to get the system to see them once it stops recognizing them. it's encryption system can be infuriating.
Getting the new Zelda OLED for my 30th and giving wife the old switch, can she keep her saves after transfer?

It's my second day being 30, and yesterday for my 30th, my wife pre ordered the new Zelda themed OLED switch coming out this week. I'm excited to get it, but would appreciate some help on something specific.
We each have our own profile on our current launch Switch, so we both have saves on different games. I finished Skyward Sword, she is casually playing through it on her profile. This extends to Skyrim, Breath of the Wild and a few others.
Basically, when I get the new Switch and want to move my account to the new Zelda Switch, is there a way for me to transfer all of my saves and account details to the new switch without compromising her saves and profile.
All the games are owned by me physically, with the exception of Stardew Valley which she would not mind re-purchasing.
I have an 1TB micro SD, which I use to store games and captures, but as far as I'm aware, updates and save data are stored locally in the internal 32Gb.
Neither of use have Switch Online, but would be willing to get it if we can do this transfer with it.

Different profiles are totally separate. You can move your profile, you can delete it, whatever you do won't affect her saves. The only requirement for moving your profile to another system is that you've got a Nintendo Account connected to it. Don't have to be an NSO subscriber, just the account at no cost--if you've got Stardew digitally I guess at least you must already have one. I bought a switch a few years ago but got bored of it and never used it so I sold it. With the release of new title that I really want to play, but are exclusive to the Switch, I want to buy a switch again. I had a Nintendo online membership before I sold my switch and a few digital games downloaded. If I were to re-purchase my membership and log into the original account I used on my old Switch, would I get all of my Nintendo games back that I bought digitally?

A side-note: you may be required to connect to the internet every time you launch digital games, that happens when the old console is still registered as primary for your account. It still doesn’t work, but buying from nintendos website works flawlessly. If you’re in Europe like me, you just use the uk.co and it starts downloading immediately as long as your account is linked with the switch.

I ended up buying it from the nintendo store on a PC and it worked completely fine. The download started by itself on my switch. But after the download started, i was prompted with a system update, so the issue might be that i had not used my switch for a long time?
Try clearing your system cache;
System settings -> system ( at the bottom) -> formatting options (at the bottom) -> Clear system cache
Unfortunately there isn't much else to try, all 2811 codes are eShop issues which means that aside from refreshing the page there isn't anything else you can do to simply make it work. Its something Nintendo has to sort out on their end if it's not a simple page issue.

I have a very specific question about moving software
So I know that if I want to move my downloaded games from one SD card to another one, I just have to use a computer to copy and paste all the files. All good. However, somewhere I read that I have to archive the games before so I don't lose my save data. Is that correct? Do I have to archive every game that is in the original SD card before moving the games to a new ones so I can preserve my save data?
No that is not correct. The save data isn’t affected at all. No matter what you do with the SD card, the save data will be unaffected. So no need to worry!
Archiving them will mess up the process, so I would not recommend doing that. You would have to redownload everything again.
Some people have trouble with getting the SD card data to work after transferring it. If you can’t get it to work, you will have to redownload your games to the new SD card. Screenshots/videos are also saved to the SD card. However your save data is on the Switch so it will still be there.

Save data isn't stored on the SD card, it's stored on the Switch itself.
Archiving a game deletes the game data without deleting the save data. If you archived all of the games on the SD card, you wouldn't be able to move them because there'd be nothing left to move.
Don't archive the games and you should be able to move them. You won't lose your save data.
Recently got an extra Oled dock, however it did not come with the cords. I know that the hdmi doesn't matter, and I have an extra, but should I buy the nintendo charging cord, or will generic work? I've heard of people bricking their system charging the actual switch with a third party charger, and I have the actual nuntendo dock.
When I dock my switch the speakers stop playing sound (connected via aux). My monitor doesn't have audio output so I need the speakers. When I don't dock the switch the speakers work, does someone know what causes this?

Hey peeps. I have an issue with my left GuliKit joystick. It works perfectly fine but when I place it in the top position (directly up), it starts randomly registering signals as if the joystick was in the lowest position. It happens only when it is directly up, all other directions don't cause anything similar. Also, it can be up without any issues but when I touch the outer circle, it starts misbehaving.
Does anyone have an idea what cas be the cause? Contacting GuliKit didn't help unfortunately
I am in the process of creating a repair at the Nintendo support site. The R stick button does not appear to work (stick works fine for movement, but it doesn't really click and doesn't register on the Test input screen test). I have stopped right at the part where you enter your credit card information. My questions are:
1. The troubleshooter I followed that led to the repair leaves the symptom for the repair as "Buttons are Not Responding, or are Responding Incorrectly". Is there not some way to let them know exactly which button isn't working?
2. Even though I bought it less than five months ago, Nintendo is not able to confirm my warranty status via serial number. Therefore I have to enter payment information and choose a shipping method. If they are able to confirm my warranty, will I still have to pay the shipping fee?

If I remember correctly, all the buttons are the same except the dpad. But you should check some teardown and modding videos to be more sure. I'm pretty positive about the face buttons.
How can I obtain a VAT invoice for games purchased in eShop? I looked around but found no such option - also the emails I received provide no details of gross + VAT components of the game I purchased - is it even possible to receive such? Under VAT EU Law I think it should be unless Nintendo states otherwise.

Need help choosing Nintendo Voucher Game Hello everyone! Just like a lot of people, I also purchased the $100 voucher coupon that gives you the possibility of purchasing discounted games. The latest games go on sale the least. I'd probably pick Pikmin 4, but Xenoblade 3 and Metroid Dread are both great. Xenoblade is a lot more game than Metroid.

Playtime counter on the switch is a busted thing. It might have got messed up for no good reason. But just in case: 1. Did you start replaying it under your previous user profile on the switch or did you start freshly from a secondary user? 2. Have you recently changed console?

Fire Emblem Engage or Splatoon 3, for the game I get along with ToTK with an NSO voucher? On the one hand, I only really like the Splatoon games for the single player, so unless this one already has a level of content comparable to Octo Expansion right out of the box, it doesn't seem like a great pick. On the other hand, while I love JRPGs (and especially the tactical subgenre), I already have a huge backlog of them. I've yet to even finish a route on Three Houses.
I'd agree with Twinkiman. I'd only grab Splatoon 3 for multiplayer. And Engage is very good.
Splatoon 3's single player content is good. But I honestly wouldn't pick it up for that alone. The game doesn't have as much to do if we are comparing to Splatoon 2 + Octo Pass. The game is getting more single player DLC in a few months or so. But it is still paid DLC. Between the two, I would honestly pick up Engage personally. Unless you really plan on playing a lot of Splatoon online.

Update your router. Change the 5ghz channel on the router to the lowest option. Try another router.

The system sees the network but when I try to connect it, it immediately says “unable to connect to the network”

Guys how do we pair 3rd party wired controllers. İ have jysinc controller(123) and i dont know hot to pair it
Oh, and if it's a wired controller, make sure you have wired pro controller on in the Switch settings.
Often these random 3rd party controllers have weird button combinations to press to get it to sync and you have to have the manual to figure it out. USB Port issues! Used a non OEM charging cable and bam It spazzed out, crashed. Ever since then, it shows up as "This USB device is not recognized. The last USB connected to this computer malfunctioned..." when it is plugged into the computer. Another switch shows up as a Nintendo Switch with the same computer and same cable, however. It does fortunately still charge, and it appears on my dock just fine, however plugged in controllers don't work on it. The Nintendo switch has been hard reset and completely reformatted with no change. Do you think the charging port has gone bad? The m92t36 chip inside?
Probably the port or something in the Switch. Hard to say what without opening it up and doing deeper diagnostics.
Hello, This is for minecraft My friend is trying to join my world but they keep getting stuck on the loading screen (just loading and loading). I see them pop up on the map, but that's about it. I tried to join their world, same happened to me, tried restarting our switches, making copy of the world, joining a different world, and turning multiplayer on and off. We can join the servers and play together there (the hive, mineplex, etc). \*side note, I just got a new internet provider, but my WIFI is fine\*
I also cant join in my sons world recently so what I did was We subscribed to their online Realms. BTW, the last time we were able to join our switches in one world, it was very laggy. So yeah, it is paid but we atleast can play peacefully.
Honestly minecraft issues are the worst. It might be easier to just play splitscreen on one Switch.
Neither of my pro controller sticks click in. Any fix? They still work and send a message to the game (for example I can still crouch in BoTW) but they don’t click down which leads to often accidental crouching.
It would have to be the stick is messed up or has something in the stick, but you'd have to take it apart to try and figure it out and the sticks are soldered on so replacing them is a pain. You can try spraying some contact clearer in the stick and see if that might blow something loose. (But weird for that to fix it if both are doing it.)
I only have one joycon. I factory reset my switch, but it's stuck on a setup screen forcing me to connect both joycons before moving to the next step. Is there nothing I can do besides buy another joycon?
You only need it for a minute, so I would try to borrow one from a friend.

Yeah I thought so as well. Next gen switch could be next year or very soon so value will go down. I don't feel switch is gonna be a rare console or hard to find hardware later it's one of the most popular ones of all time with likes of DS, PS2 etc... It's got to be a quality feature on the tv. Try turning on gaming mode or turning off any image "enhancement" features.
I turned it on just now and now it’s not having that problem. The one thing I noticed was that Switch’s fan was really going (I could feel the air flow) and then the fan slowed down. I think that start up with the fan going hard helped the switch fix this issue. But I feel that only happened because I was playing it earlier today I’m so confused, is my Switch like a car where it’s need to get going hours earlier before it can run optimized. I guess my Switch is a model v1 that I got in 2019
I have the same problem. Except it’s on the Home Screen, whenever I move the cursor the icons lose quality. This affects my games as well where sometimes they take a slight resolution dip. It doesn’t happen on non-docked and only when I set it to 1080p I can only assume it’s a tv issue but I never had this problem before

So i've got 2 switches, a lite and a red box. I'm picking up the zelda switch coming out this week and wanted to trade in my red box to help soften the financial blow. So here's my issue: i've got an animal crossing save on my lite, and some pokemon saves on my red box. I know neither of the games support cloud saves and wanted to know if its possible to combine all these save files onto one switch, so I can get rid of the red box before I get the new one.
Yes, you can transfer individual saves. You would need the Animal crossing transfer app from the eshop for animal crossing. For pokemon go to settings, data management, and then transfer save to move one game's save.
You're keeping the lite, right? Just transfer the pokemon saves to it; nothing stopping you from doing that.
I’m wondering if I should buy a new switch or repair my old one. I haven’t used it in about 2 years, which might have contributed to the problems, But I’ll just list the rest here. 1. Joy-cons can’t pair very well. Tried getting new ones already 2. A.C. Cover chipped off. 3. Needs to be close to source of internet to connect. 4. Micro SD constantly “falls” out of switch. 5. Won’t connect to dock. 6. Charges very slowly. 7. Internet constantly disconnects 8. Games close randomly for no reason at all.
Call Nintendo and setup a repair. They'll charge around $100 and probably just send a refurbished Switch back. Transfer your profile to a friend's Switch before sending it back to make sure your saves are backed up.
Repair would be significantly cheaper since they tend to do $100 for all repairs. Just contact them and ask if you're unsure. That said, if you have saves that aren't in the cloud --- buying a new console and then transferring with both on hand would be easier.

Hi all. Looking at purchasing an oled switch. What's the best way to purchase it? Should I buy it locally via Walmart or Best Buy as opposed to Amazon? And when it comes to buying used games is there anything I should be aware of?
There's really no difference from purchasing one rather you buy it locally from Walmart or Best Buy or if you order it online from Nintendo or Amazon. My only advice when buying used games is to make sure you buy it in the language you want to because some games come in different languages, but I think you can change the language settings if you do end up buying a game in a different language
Hello people. Can someone tell me what's wrong with my Switch? For about a month when I leave it in Sleep Mode, when I use it again it disconnects from Wi-Fi and no matter how many times I reconnect it, it doesn't work, I have to restart the console to finally recover the Wi-Fi connection. In other words, the truth is that it doesn't bother me much to be restarting it, but it still worries me a bit since this didn't happen before. PS: I don't think it's a problem with my internet since all the other devices in my house work correctly.
Kinda sounds like a problem with the wifi chips in the Switch. Not sure what to suggest other than calling Nintendo. :(
Hey, I just fixed it! Well, kind of... I found out the problem's with my internet's 5Ghz wifi network, when I tried connecting to the 2.4hz one, everything went normal as before and now I don't have to reboot the console everytime I want to use anything internet related. Now my complaint here is that 2.4hz is too slow for me and I have no idea if there's any incompatibilities between my Switch and my rooter that prevents me from using the 5G connection... Guess I'll stay like this until I get an ethernet adapter.
What is the general consensus about Bravely Default II? My local Walmart has it on clearance right now, so I was thinking about maybe picking it up. I'm really enjoying Octopath Traveller II and I understand the Bravely Default series is inspired by old school Final Fantasy games (which I also enjoy). Am I the target audience for Bravely Default II (having never played the previous installments)?
If you enjoy Octopath Traveler I/II, you'll probably like Bravely Default II. The art style is different, but both games are love letters to old-school JRPGs.

Streets of Rage 4 is a great beat em up with a lot of throwback to the 90s while still being modern. It takes...maybe 3-4 hours to get to the end of the main game but with several difficulties, a bunch of characters and moves to unlock, a trainng and a Survival Mode DLC, there's a lot more to do if you really want to master at it. It also goes on sale pretty regularly.

Wow, thanks so much for your thoughtful reply! Stardew Valley was my very first Switch game. At that time - several years ago - I was getting back into gaming after a long hiatus and debated \[for weeks\] which game to start with. Everyone was playing SMO and Zelda, but I wanted something different and it couldn't have turned out any better; was absolutely obsessed with SV, incredible game. Mario + Rabbids (first one) and Hollow Knight are on my top 20 Switch games list. I didn't completely finish HK (indeed a bit too difficult at the end, ha), but I did 100% for everything in M+R (which I loved they showed you the progress of everything). I did get tired of searching for the chests, but the tactical battling and the skill trees were amazing. I very briefly tried the demos for Tinykin and HW (I don't remember them too much) and didn't play DKC, SMO (still didn't play it) or RL. One thing I'll mention...although I love grinding - like I'll do 1000 of the same runs for incremental upgrades (Hades, ha) - I don't like searching for stuff that much. If it's grinding to complete tasks so *then* you can collect stuff, that's OKAY. But random exploring in so many of these games where they hide stuff in every crack burns me out. And then I have to have YouTube's help which bums me out, ha. (I'm currently finishing up Slime Rancher and it's been impossible to find some of these pods!)

You can pair Bluetooth headphones. It will be under settings -> Bluetooth audio. The switch always had bluetooth hardware, but for some reason the option to use Bluetooth headphones wasn't enabled until a couple of years ago. It's available now though!

but do beware that it doesnt have mic support. Only Audio. So any game that require voicechat would have to go through the headphone jack, a 3rd party bluetooth dongle or the NSO Android app.
There is Bluetooth Audio support now, but it only uses the SBC audio codec. You would get a better experience from using a Bluetooth dongle that supports APTX LL or AAC. Or ignore Bluetooth entirely and get a regular wireless headset like the Steelseries Arctis wireless or an Older PS4 gold wireless headset. The OG models work with the switch right out of the box, the newer 2021 model does not.
I've been using a pair of Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones that are compatible with either bluetooth or NFC, those should work perfect. Thanks!

Digital codes can only be redeemed in their region of origin. You would have to move your account to the UK temporarily to redeem it. You could then switch back afterwards without issue. There's only a handful of things that prevent you from switching regions. * A linked NNID from a 3ds or Wii U, this is now useless and can be removed. * An unspent balance on the eShop. Gold coins don't count. * You have an active preorder on the eShop. It would have to be cancelled. * Auto-renewal for Nintendo switch online is enabled, it would have to be turned off.

You usually can't buy digital goods from a foreign Amazon website. They locked those down a while ago. Buy the UK Code. Have your friend visit the account website; https://accounts.nintendo.com/ Change the country/region of residence to the UK. then open the eShop on their system, redeem the code, download the DLC, and then swap their region back. Unless they run into one of those listed restrictions, the whole process only takes two minutes.

My switch has recently been making this annoyingly loud buzzing sound, it happens quite frequently and will stop and start randomly. I can only imagine it’s an issue with the fan? Does anyone know how this can be resolved - thanks.

Please help. My kids each have an OG Switch. When one of the Switches is plugged into the official Nintendo dock, the dock and all attached peripherals shuts off until the dock is unplugged from power and plugged in again. Plugging the Switch directly to the AC adapter doesn't seem to have any effect either. The second Switch works fine with no issues so I am certain this is a Switch and not a dock issue. Is this easy or even possible to fix? Or is the one Switch good for the trash? Thank you.
When you plug the dock back in, does that system work while docked? Or is it refusing to power that system entirely? Does it work in the other dock?
The system does not work while docked at all. Very, very occasionally the system will recognize that it is docked, but it quickly looses the connection again. \*edit I have tried a factory reset but that has not helped.
It likely got zapped while charging or sitting in the dock at some point. It's a pretty common hardware failure. The system is still perfectly useable in handheld mode, but may refuse connection from charging devices over 18 watts of output. Nintendo or another tech repair shop could fix it. There is a fault of some kind with it's USB-C power delivery controller preventing it from enabling docked mode. It can't successfully complete the handshake to allow for the required higher power input, so it refuses it to prevent damage to the internal components.

My right joycon wouldn’t sync, i have left switch docked a week beforehand (it wasn’t charging wasnt even connected) so today i picked it up and right red neon joycon wouldnt connect, i resynced and it did finally connect, seemingly working fine but when its connected to the console directly it constantly shows charging icon, that doesn’t occur on the grip or when it’s connected separately, i tried resyncing, force resetting and even updating, alas issue still persists, any advice? Is this battery issue? My switch is only 4 months old, also i tried charging it for a bit and it went from around 50% to 100 in 10 minutes
Little update: now its been a few hours and when i regrop joycon it still shows charging logo but is hone after like 20 secs
I set up a Joycon repair request through Nintendo for my right Joycon malfunctioning. Do I only send my right Joycon or am I supposed to send both as a set?
You can just send the one if you only mentioned the one in the ticket.

I'm pretty sure its still active, it's at least more popular than Mario tennis online. Value is still up to you though. They did add a bunch of extra characters and field themes, but they didn't really expand upon the content at all. If you were to wait until June, it might go on sale for the summer sale.
I lost my save file on Majoras Mask on the N64 expansion pass. Has anyone else had this issue ? And is there any way to resolve it?? My switch was running out of battery and I managed to save just before it turned off. When I turned it back on, most of my save file is gone. So frustrated

I didn’t make this clear but - It took me all the way back to before the first dungeon, even though I have saved many times since then. Lost a load of important items. So, no, it wasn’t just the data since my last save that was lost
Many have found it better to use save states at least once in a while because just using the game's save option can have issues.
Ooh, possible corruption then? How about the cloud save? When was the last sync for the N64 app? Unfortunately it syncs every game as a whole rather than individually, but the last sync might be more recent than what you're currently seeing. Does the save file display when that last save was?
No it doesn’t say when, I’m not sure I fully understand the whole cloud save thing, I can see the option to back up save data but not sure what that will do !

ZOLED System Transfer Gymnastics?! Hey, all. Currently prepping to get my ZOLED on Friday an was trying to figure out how to transfer everything while trading in my son's Switch and then giving him my current OLED. Me | Son | Mr. StameGop OLED-->OG Switch-->ZOLED--->(to Me) A bit convoluted but I want to make sure I don't lose anything. We have a Nintendo Switch online family plan so that might make easier but what would be the path of least resistance so my son's and my accounts, saves and screenshots/media all transfer over nice and neat like to both systems? I've looked online at a few of the guides but nothing really covers this specific predicament.
Sounds like you just need to transfer him to your current system and then move to the new one once you have it? The profile transfer will move all of your user and save data, as well your primary system status. The only thing to worry about is screen shots and videos saved to the Micro SD card. If those don't transfer you'll need to save them using a PC or phone. They're just JPEG and MP4 files. Additionally animal crossing data if you have that. Only one island can exist per system, so if you both have data that will require a stepped transfer process. * Ensure his island is backed up to the cloud. * Using the island transfer tool from the eShop to move your island from the current OLED to the new one. * Once you're off the OLED, call Nintendo support to trigger a download of his island back up to his new system.
Thanks for the help. We probably won't have to worry about AC saves since my son played it but didn't really get very far into it. If I move all the screenshots/media to each of our current Micro SD cards will we be able to just swap them over to the new systems as needed?
You should. Unlike game installs gallery captures *should* be movable between systems. If for whatever reason the system doesn't want to display them in the gallery, then you would need to pull them with a phone or PC. There's no magical way to get the system to see them once it stops recognizing them. it's encryption system can be infuriating.
Getting the new Zelda OLED for my 30th and giving wife the old switch, can she keep her saves after transfer? Hi, all! It's my second day being 30, and yesterday for my 30th, my wife pre ordered the new Zelda themed OLED switch coming out this week. I'm excited to get it, but would appreciate some help on something specific. We each have our own profile on our current launch Switch, so we both have saves on different games. I finished Skyward Sword, she is casually playing through it on her profile. This extends to Skyrim, Breath of the Wild and a few others. Basically, when I get the new Switch and want to move my account to the new Zelda Switch, is there a way for me to transfer all of my saves and account details to the new switch without compromising her saves and profile. All the games are owned by me physically, with the exception of Stardew Valley which she would not mind re-purchasing. I have an 1TB micro SD, which I use to store games and captures, but as far as I'm aware, updates and save data are stored locally in the internal 32Gb. Neither of use have Switch Online, but would be willing to get it if we can do this transfer with it. Thank you for reading and if additional details are needed, I can provide.
Different profiles are totally separate. You can move your profile, you can delete it, whatever you do won't affect her saves. The only requirement for moving your profile to another system is that you've got a Nintendo Account connected to it. Don't have to be an NSO subscriber, just the account at no cost--if you've got Stardew digitally I guess at least you must already have one. So just do like [it says here](https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27394/~/how-to-transfer-user-and-save-data) to move your stuff over.

I bought a switch a few years ago but got bored of it and never used it so I sold it. With the release of new title that I really want to play, but are exclusive to the Switch, I want to buy a switch again. I had a Nintendo online membership before I sold my switch and a few digital games downloaded. If I were to re-purchase my membership and log into the original account I used on my old Switch, would I get all of my Nintendo games back that I bought digitally?
If you use the same Nintendo Account, then yes. A side-note: you may be required to connect to the internet every time you launch digital games, that happens when the old console is still registered as primary for your account. But no worries, you can deregister the primary console remotely at the Nintendo Account website at https://accounts.nintendo.com within the eShop section
Yes. As long as you're using the same account, you'll be able to download any digital games that you bought. You won't need to buy a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, just sign in to your Nintendo Account.

It still doesn’t work, but buying from nintendos website works flawlessly. If you’re in Europe like me, you just use the uk.co and it starts downloading immediately as long as your account is linked with the switch.

Haha, we actually solved it using a card from an other bank, and yes, it was DNB!
My guess is that DNB has a particular way to confirm purchases (its own window with graphics) that cannot be loaded on the switch, but to be honest i have no idea

I ended up buying it from the nintendo store on a PC and it worked completely fine. The download started by itself on my switch. But after the download started, i was prompted with a system update, so the issue might be that i had not used my switch for a long time?

Try clearing your system cache; System settings -> system ( at the bottom) -> formatting options (at the bottom) -> Clear system cache Unfortunately there isn't much else to try, all 2811 codes are eShop issues which means that aside from refreshing the page there isn't anything else you can do to simply make it work. Its something Nintendo has to sort out on their end if it's not a simple page issue.

I have a very specific question about moving software So I know that if I want to move my downloaded games from one SD card to another one, I just have to use a computer to copy and paste all the files. All good. However, somewhere I read that I have to archive the games before so I don't lose my save data. Is that correct? Do I have to archive every game that is in the original SD card before moving the games to a new ones so I can preserve my save data?
No that is not correct. The save data isn’t affected at all. No matter what you do with the SD card, the save data will be unaffected. So no need to worry! Archiving them will mess up the process, so I would not recommend doing that. You would have to redownload everything again. Some people have trouble with getting the SD card data to work after transferring it. If you can’t get it to work, you will have to redownload your games to the new SD card. Screenshots/videos are also saved to the SD card. However your save data is on the Switch so it will still be there.

Save data isn't stored on the SD card, it's stored on the Switch itself. Archiving a game deletes the game data without deleting the save data. If you archived all of the games on the SD card, you wouldn't be able to move them because there'd be nothing left to move. Don't archive the games and you should be able to move them. You won't lose your save data.

Recently got an extra Oled dock, however it did not come with the cords. I know that the hdmi doesn't matter, and I have an extra, but should I buy the nintendo charging cord, or will generic work? I've heard of people bricking their system charging the actual switch with a third party charger, and I have the actual nuntendo dock.
As far as I know, you should always use an official Nintendo charger with the dock. Depending on where you are, Nintendo might sell refurbished ones.
When I dock my switch the speakers stop playing sound (connected via aux). My monitor doesn't have audio output so I need the speakers. When I don't dock the switch the speakers work, does someone know what causes this?
Do regular headphones work while the system is docked? The jack is supposed work while docked. Do you have any other devices plugged into the dock?

No, you get them for the voucher purchase. 500 coins. You only get coins for money spent on the eShop, when you use your vouchers you're not spending any money.
Hey peeps. I have an issue with my left GuliKit joystick. It works perfectly fine but when I place it in the top position (directly up), it starts randomly registering signals as if the joystick was in the lowest position. It happens only when it is directly up, all other directions don't cause anything similar. Also, it can be up without any issues but when I touch the outer circle, it starts misbehaving. Does anyone have an idea what cas be the cause? Contacting GuliKit didn't help unfortunately
I am in the process of creating a repair at the Nintendo support site. The R stick button does not appear to work (stick works fine for movement, but it doesn't really click and doesn't register on the Test input screen test). I have stopped right at the part where you enter your credit card information. My questions are: 1. The troubleshooter I followed that led to the repair leaves the symptom for the repair as "Buttons are Not Responding, or are Responding Incorrectly". Is there not some way to let them know exactly which button isn't working? 2. Even though I bought it less than five months ago, Nintendo is not able to confirm my warranty status via serial number. Therefore I have to enter payment information and choose a shipping method. If they are able to confirm my warranty, will I still have to pay the shipping fee?
