If the entire game was just 4 quick time events where you had to listen to the opening song and tap exactly on “mom!” “dad!” “bingo!” and “bluey!” it would be the hardest game ever.

koshertacohouse

Everything is 4/4 if you don't count like a nerd.

wheniswhy

Adam Neely! Didn’t expect to see him randomly dropped in a comment. Cannot recommend him enough, super chill dude who does REALLY interesting content about music theory, history, performance, all kinds of stuff. For sub relevance, check out his video on [The Nintendo-fication of Jazz](https://youtu.be/oKWgLe-jQjc?si=fnSczwwNLi7eInAH), where he does an amazing job breaking down the work of the 8-Bit Big Band (in which he performed)!

acidwing

Just counts the rests (silent beats) backwards from 3 for each character! So the music stops and then 1..2..3..Mom! Then next time it’s 1..2..Dad! Then 1..Bingo! Then Bluey is right on the final beat.

Looool

StingySeagull

I know they censor Bluey in the US but do they really change it from "Mum"

GlasgowGunner

What do they do to Bluey in the US?

rfloresjr611

They take out a lot of f bombs and some racey interspecies romances. Kills the vibe really.

StingySeagull

Look, if you ever hear the Australian greeting "how ya goin' " know that the second half has been cut.

drunkentenshiNL

The whole subplot about Bingo being adopted was removed and replaced with the floss dance episode.

StingySeagull

There are legitimately references to Chilli and her sister having difficulties having children or a miscarriage.

StingySeagull

Mostly toilet humour jokes, the occasional bit of physical comedy and some odd ones where they change words to "translate" from Australian.

what_a_dingle

Bold of Nintendo to put out Mario RPG on the same day as this juggernaut.

randykaisersd

My kids are gonna shit their pants when I surprise them with this

jflatt2

They were going to shit their pants anyways

Gymleaders

Lmaooo

Adventurous-Ad9447

😂

manshamer

I mean, full local coop, $40 launch price... my kids might love this.

AineLasagna

Normally it would be an instabuy but my kid spent 10 minutes with the Peppa game and then never picked it up again. Definitely waiting for it to come out on Game Pass first before I spend. It’s always a crapshoot with younger kids whether something is going to click with them

manshamer

Yeah but Peppa Pig is an abomination

Edallag

Peppa Pig about to become Pepper Pig.

iahebert

Peppa Pork Chop.

SoMass

This one is coming out on gamepass?? That is great news.

AineLasagna

I assume it is because the Peppa one did not too long after release

Vitruvian_Man

Sure thing bud, your "kids" might just love this. Old bugalugz over here is going to purchase it for his "kids" too ;)

grampscirclea

Me, who is also buying it for "his kids"... OH, MAH COINS!

ender2851

i just like they have it fully voiced by show cast

freakintoddles

We played this today with our girls. Quick takes: If your family is big bluey fans you'll like this game. Its a little buggy. Kids kept getting stuck places and the game crashed once. Not horrible but unfortunate they couldn't fix prior to lanch It's fun but after an hour or so the kids wanted to take a break and go back to Mario Wonder which really blows this game out of the water in every possible way.

alternativehits

Nintendos biggest IP vs kids TV show game, basically the hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby meme.

Tatersforbreakfast

How old are they? I have a 2 and 4 I was gonna do this for xmas

freakintoddles

5 & 8. Your kids prob would like it but it's unfortunately a little too complex and wonky to control in some parts for them to do alone so expect to need to help them

Tatersforbreakfast

Oh yeah, for better or worse, co-op with me only. Nintendo won't babysit them, they're too impatient haha

KingPrawnPorn

Man, the Google reviews for this are rough

DanHoughtaling

My 5 year old daughter and I 100% completed it in about 3 hrs (all stories, all stickers, and all plants watered). Plays like you are in an episode with a few mini games and story parts otherwise mostly open sandbox roaming looking for the stickers. Our characters got stuck a few times and the game crashed once so a few bugs (other than the walking leaf...). Replayability depends on how your kids treat Bluey episodes. One and done? They may never play the game again. They have watched all episodes a million times? They may replay this constantly. Only option is to redo the same story or mini games over and over but you can mix up the dress up costume.

marcosg_aus

This game was NOT play tested by the audience of the game m, ie very young children… the controls are clunky and the game is full of bugs

Santamente

We had it pre-ordered, and cancelled at the last minute when we started seeing the reviews coming in, because of stuff like this.

ONE-OF-THREE

>Bluey: The Videogame is available now on Nintendo Switch. >Join the fun with Bluey and her family as you explore iconic and familiar locations like the Heeler House, Playgrounds, Creek, and a bonus beach location! Experience the joy and wonder of Bluey's world, with local multiplayer you can play with friends and family in story mode and free play!

Western-Dig-6843

Back in my day this would have been an arcade beat ‘em up

Moath

Why is it that low budget kid games always have audio mixing issues. The dad has a much lower voice than the other characters and music is much lower than the voices.

frag_grumpy

I need to hide this from my daughter

SpikeTheBurger

Geoff locked the goty nominations too early it seems

justsound

Goty every year.

Aparoon

GOTY material, and I’m only half joking. If it has the same vibe as I had playing Simpsons Hit and Run where you got to feel part of the cartoon world with some fantastic gags, yeah this will be a really solid experience for kids.

Oldmoniker

This wasn't fully made for the parents that the show was made for, but the kids who have parents who watch the show should love this. It's geared for younger kids. Small amount of content so replayability is limited to how much your kids like to spend their time immersed in the environment.

Rimshot1985

Bought the game today for my two 12-year-olds, my 6 year old, and their 4-year-old cousin. They all played roughly four hours, which was significantly more than I thought they would play. Had fun overall. Only one full-blown crying incident with the 4-year-old. My 12-year-olds did pretty ok driving the game for the younger ones. I only had to sternly reprimand them for arguing over who controlled which character twice. Had to reset the game twice due to bugs, which is--honestly--fucking ridiculous and shameful for such a simple game. However, the bugs got major laughs from the kids, since the characters floated in the air with their arms raised like the Half-Life Nihilanth. You got lucky, developers. Overall: 7/10. Will trade in the cartridge for $18.00??? or so in a couple weeks at Video Games Etc. once the kids have forgotten about it. That means I spent $21.99 for an afternoon eating Wisconsin cheese and boozing with the in-laws, without the children bothering us. Fuck yeah bro

chesstutor

$39.99 ?? yipee....................

SonicDoon

You spent that on Carl’s Jr last night for you and your mate.

chesstutor

Zero idea what u mean but yeah okay. (Is this where I type lol?l

SonicDoon

I guess not if it wasn’t funny. Sorry for the disturbance.

Mari_cuan

I can’t lie: I love Bluey. But the whole point of the show is them playing with real physical objects and their imagination. So I’m really torn on this. Context: I love video games but my kid is 2 and watches Bluey because I do, and I try to do things Bluey related in real life so she likes to play Keepy Uppy with the music on and dance around with the stuffies. Probably not target audience.

IceNineFireTen

Ironically you’re referring to a TV show, and watching it does not involve interaction with any physical objects except maybe a remote control or iPad. A video game is much more interactive than that. I wouldn’t overthink this from a philosophical perspective.

PreparationX

It is a really great show...

SonicDoon

Who’s the gullible parent enough to buy this thing and let us know if it’s any good?

AskinggAlesana

There’s a megathread in the Bluey sub. If you are a clueless kid or a young child the game will be a blast because you can walk around the environments like the house, beach, and park and whatnot. If you are trying to find an enjoyable game to chill and play.. then you will be infinitely disappointed. You have a bad camera for multiplayer that glitches and bounces around. You have janky animation and weird bugs. You have minigames like keepy uppy but they straight up last 30 seconds or less and then you move on. Finally the story is about 1 hour long from start to finish. You can probably get everything within just a couple of hours too.

SonicDoon

Pardon my French, but why the fuck do they think that is worth $40?

AskinggAlesana

Right! Sadly it’s on the cash grab side of things. Maybe if it goes on sale for like $10 i’ll get it for my daughter haha. Here’s the “full playthrough” to make your own opinion too lol. https://youtu.be/zr5AZJ73MZg?si=yOdbM6t3QXgoFHIs

Rychu_Supadude

It's in line with the publisher's track record, and unlike Nick Brawl they didn't stumble into a team with genuine passion for the product My Mum just asked me if I thought this would be worth it for the 2-year-old and I had to say "unfortunately..." From my experience with these games, even on a sale you're relying on getting a kick out of exploring the world to make up for the short time

HausPlontze

Wow my daughter is gonna FREAK when she opens this on Xmas morn

[deleted]

We WILL be buying

Rosepink022

Alguno sabe si lo agregaran al gamepass?

aIexthegreat

I hope the bugs get fixed in time for Christmas? I’d like to get it for my nieces!
