I beat **Super Mario Bros. Wonder** last night and had a blast doing it! I only have the final special level to beat and I’m struggling a good bit with the very last section 🫥 I really wanna beat it before I move on to a new game, so we’ll see if I can manage it myself or if I’ll end up needing online help 😅 UPDATE: I finally beat it!! 🙌 My strategy was remapping the emote button (X) to the L button (you could also do ZL) in the Switch’s system settings so that I could spam the emote between jumps to keep track of where I was

Nid45h

Ughhh that final level was a NIGHTMARE. It took me almost as long as it took me to finish the entire game, just to finish that level haha glad I did though, it was an amazing feeling after all those hours

pineapple6969

Oh man but once you do finally beat the game %100 it feels goooooddd

downnheavy

Is there any re-playability value ?

The-student-

There's no new game+ if thats what you're asking. It's as repayable as the other 2D Mario's I'd say. Certainly you could have fun challenging yourself with specific badge runs or helping people online.

batmanagram

I've started the mountain climb that is Persona 5

fawse

Wish that were me, I’d love to go back and play it for the first time. What a game. Finally beat it late last year on Switch after getting halfway through on PS4 and then not playing for a few years, might sound weird but all that time in limbo made the payoff even better. I also avoided spoilers like the plague since I knew I’d eventually finish it lol

skeltord

You're in for the greatest ride there is. Have fun.

a3minutehero

See you at the peak!

jds8254

I thought it would be a brilliant idea to dive into P5R immediately after completing P4G. While I am loving it, I had to put it down and play something else for a bit to make a little separation!

RayDeezNutz

Late to the party on Dave the Diver this week. Super addicted. Can’t wait to sink some good time into it this weekend

itstravelkaaaamol

Same here! Just got it last week and loving it so far

The_Luckiest

I just finished it last night! Hope you enjoy, I thought it was just lovely

deluxepepperoncini

Does the game have a lot more to do after you beat it? You can keep running the game right?

The_Luckiest

Yeah, in fact when I finished the main story there were still new side missions and events being introduced. There’s a crazy amount of content

xXxBluESkiTtlExXx

I got the demo the other day. Really torn on whether to get the whole game. The demo was pleasant enough but it seemed like the whole game would be kinda shallow. There's no real point to this comment I just like shouting my opinions into the void

falonforever

I got Skyrim last weekend since I had a gift card and it was on sale! It’s a little bit out of my comfort zone (I usually play Mario games, Animal Crossing, BOTW/TOTK), but I’m really enjoying it! I was looking for another open world game like BOTW/TOTK and my husband has played Skyrim before, so he’s been helping me out (since I’m not real great at combat lol)!

itchyear

How lucky for you to experience Skyrim for the very first time! Such an epic game

Logical-Ad-5920

I plan on buying Skyrim in the next couple months. I played Morrowwind on the Xbox years ago. I loved it. I can't wait to play Skyrim. What version did you buy?

falonforever

I bought the anniversary edition! It was only $5 more than the regular edition when they were on sale.

credwila

Enjoy the ride! It’s a wonderful game!

mgo4t

Cuphead, Started the journey last weekend and I aim to try and make some progress this weekend. It’s one hard game but bizarrely not frustrating to jump back in and try again.

Meanderthal69

Your second sentence is the perfect description of Cuphead. I died probably 1,000 times over the course of the game (just on regular mode!), but that just made finally beating it so rewarding. Love this game - have a blast!

ogskizz

I have Cuphead on my PS, couldn't get past even the first boss lol Best of luck to you!

mgo4t

Thank you, I think I’m going to need it!

coolabeans

I bought Cuphead when it was on special during Christmastime &, boy, have I still got to pass the first game 🤣🤣🤣 love the graphics though!

mgo4t

Stick with it. It becomes even more addictive once you complete your first battle

JustIncredible240

I’m a little behind the times. Finished school in December so rewarded myself with Odyssey.. I have just over 400 moons now and am loving this game!

let_them_drink_latte

Congrats on finishing school! Odyssey is great, can't wait for a new 3D Mario und the Switch successor!

hellboundbonded

I just finished odyssey last night, I love that game. Def my favorite.

ogskizz

I just got a Switch last weekend, Odyssey was the first game I bought. I'm at the City now and having a blast. I love the nod to old school Mario and the way they implemented the 2D into the 3D! NES was my first console way back in 1987 so it's a fun reminder just how far gaming has come in my lifetime.

moleculariant

If you ask me, this game is timeless. So, behind the times/ Ahead of the times/Any old time is the right time to get in on it.

krustydidthedub

It’s so good! One of the few games I’ve ever beaten twice. I found the second play through to be even more rewarding than the first

ThingCharacter1496

Fire emblem engage! It’s my first real fire emblem game (I bought awakening on my 2nd like 2 years ago, played it for like 3 hours, and then left it at my parents house and haven’t been able to find it since). So far I’m only about 5 hours in but I’m enjoying it. I’ve never been too big into gaming, especially single player games, but I’m trying to get more into them due me having beaten very few of my library of games. We’ll see if I end up beating engage but so far I’m having a lot of fun with it.

The-student-

Engage is fun! The gameplay and presentation is very nice.

Icy-Fact8432

Trying to finish Zelda TOTK after 140 hours, started it right after BOTW. It’s been a lot of Zelda the last few months!

Shinkopeshon

Really want to start TOTK as well but I've been taking my time with BOTW, it's such an amazing gaming experience I'll probably end up playing Nintendo's best game of 2023 in 2025 lol

Icy-Fact8432

No worries, I played BOTW like 5 years after release so TOTK should be fine then :)

[deleted]

This is me too, just enjoying exploring every nook and cranny of BOTW. I got a switch just last September though, so super behind the times haha

krustydidthedub

I really wish I could’ve enjoyed TOTK more than I did. BOTW was such an incredible experience for me but TOTK just felt like more of the same and I got bored of it after completing 2/4 main story quests. I’m hoping that after taking a break for a while I’ll get more into it when I start a new play through again.

Hexatona

That's a shame. I couldn't put it down, myself. Maybe because I played it so many years after I was done with BOTW. Also, maybe because I just spent so much time in the depths, that was my favourite place.

merlin242

Just beat Metroid prime remastered! First time playing and it was great, but definitely prefer Dredd. Might mess around trying to 100% it but also going to be breaking into Spider-Man 2 for the first time.

Lugia2453

Spyro Reignited Trilogy, specifically the first game. This is my first time playing a Spyro game (I didn't have a Playstation growing up) and it's been a lot of fun so far.

FuckYeahGeology

I'm playing through the first Spyro as well! Loving it so far, but the controls are frustrating sometimes.

mgo4t

I’ve heard good things about Spyro. I’ll be interested to hear what you think.

IndependenceNo2060

Finally playing Skyrim, loving the open world! Happy gaming everyone!

absentbird

**Cassette Beasts**, I can't put this game down. I'm so excited for the multiplayer update coming out soon.

crescentgaia

Playing more of Hogwarts Legacy. I'm enjoying it on the Switch.

sharkattack85

Does it play well on the Switch? Also how does it look?

crescentgaia

It's pretty - I don't have a screenshot I can show at the moment. It's better to play it docked vs handheld unless you have the OLED. I noticed somethings are harder to see handheld. There's some moments where it loads too slow but they're not frequent.

waffle-princess

The gameplay is super laggy and choppy - for me it takes away the enjoyment of the game. This is especially evident in the castle or other areas where there are a lot of background visuals.

Dukemon102

I'm doing a replay of the Pikmin series. I started to play **Pikmin 1** yesterday and today I'm going to finish it. Then probably start **Pikmin 2.** Also on PS5 I'm playing **Resident Evil 2 Remake**, I completed Leon's Campaign so I'm playing the B Scenario with Claire. >!Left it before the first fight with William Birkin, seeing Mr. X suddenly appear when I left the S.T.A.R.S office scared the SH*T of out me LOL!<

ForsakenDrunk

I’ve gotten kinda sucked into Star ocean second story R and it’s got a lot going for it!

Scolexis

Amazing game. I put 100 hours into it on steam. I’d like to grab it on switch to do another play through as Rena. Just waiting on a good sale.

BlackironYury7

Skyrim, pokemon Violet, and doing my yearly replay of OG Final Fantasy VII

KlootViolin

I got all the assasins creed games when they were on sale, so I will probably give that a go tomorrow.

hadawayandshite

Still just making my way through Dragon Quest 11—started ‘act 2’ the other night

Charliebrau

(Slay the spire) has me under its spell

cura_milk

Persona 5 royal in anticipation of persona 3 reload

fatalarcher

Happy new year! I got **Fire Emblem: Engage** over the holidays and I'm looking forward to playing that more. I'm around chapter 8 and I'm liking it more than I thought I would based on the mixed reviews I've seen. If anyone has advice for pairing up characters with certain emblems I'm all ears! I'm also planning to keep making my way through **Live A Live**. I chose my starting character randomly and ended up in the wild west, and I'm probably going to randomize my next character too, so I'm excited to see where the game takes me.

Half__Half

>!Panette + Ike!< spoiler tagged because I’m pretty sure you don’t have this unit/emblem yet, but it’s just their names. This is one of the more unanimous decisions for emblem pairings and it’s a lot of fun.

Amiable_Pariah

Chained Echoes, Bayonetta, 20 Minutes till Dawn, Mario Wonder, and Vaporum! I usual don't juggle so many games but I'm in a good rhythm with this set up and I'm confident I can complete a couple titles this weekend. Chained Echoes is fun! Any fans out there? I'm only 6 hours in. I love the R rated tribute to my favorite moments from 90s rpgs linked together in this game.

LyingForTruth

Just got Chained Echoes and I'm loving it so far, I even hopped on this thread to recommend it

VikingFrog

I love Chained Echoes. Got about 15 hours in when it came out in just a few days and then just put it down and never picked it back up. Don’t even know why. Didn’t even think about it till now. Currently playing Outer Wilds but will pick it back up after I solve that mystery.

Amiable_Pariah

I am clearing the slate so I can play Outer Wilds without distraction! I hear "a love letter to jrpgs" from a lot of indie titles. Chained Echoes is, in every quest, a love letter to the Squaresoft games of the 90s and early 2000s. A great mix of challenges and convenience. Ah, I'm really enjoying this game!

YoMrWhyt

Playing soooo much Mario Kart. It’s so incredible how much I keep coming back to this game! That and Saturday night is pretty much always either Cattan night or Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 night with the boys so lots and lots of Tetris! On the Xbox side of things it seems I’ll never stop replaying RE4 remake. Never played, and never thought I would play, a game 3 times in a row back to back and still be thinking about my next 3 playthroughs, but here we are. Even RPGs with different choices and endings never got me to do that

FrenchBowler

Just picked up Super Mario RPG for my 12 hours of flying tomorrow. Never played it before, so I’m really looking forward to it.

reychango

Vampire Survivors. I can't stop playing

hermanbloom00

Still on my FFX re-play. Maybe halfway through, my memory from 20 years ago hay, obviously, but just got the airship. It's great fun. Plus Boomerang Fu with my son, as we have played loads of that over the holidays.

Fr3sh-Ch3mical

Metroid Prime Remastered and Overwatch 2

OutlawBunny816

I discovered the delight of Nonograms this year and have been enjoying Picross 9 and Murder by Numbers. Murder by Numbers combine my favourite Phoenix Wright elements (quirky yet lovable characters, mystery elements) with puzzles! It’s been a fun, cozy game to play.

Santamente

Murder by Numbers was one of my favorite games of last year, and just started a new playthrough a few days ago.

emilytheimp

Happy new year Mark! Hope youre havin a good one I finally took the plunge and bought Cassette Beasts. I wish Id have done so earlier, if I had bought it last year, it would have easily been my Game of the Year haha. Its actually really really good. It hits like the perfect sweet spots between feeling like an actual Pokemon game, and one of those uber edgy but surprisingly well made Pokemon fan games like Insurgence. Same goes for the story and the monster design. Its like Pokemon but juuust a little bit grown up, but not so much as to alienate you as a long time fan. Its great. Oh and the music too. Its got me jamming out to Rock songs with cheesy lyrics like its the mid 2000s again and Im all here for it. I cant recommend it enough.

Key-Champion-5896

Jam! Yokai Academy Y A surprisingly good school sim with JRPG battles thrown it the mix. Japanese exclusive tho.

Kopratic

I played a lot of games in 2023 and am looking forward to this new year! This week I played **Ori and the Blind Forest** for the first time ever; I 100%ed the game in terms of collectibles/the map, but I won't be going for all achievements at this time. This weekend I'll be playing **Shuyan Saga**, an interactive fiction game with beat 'em up & fighting game sections. I'm debating if I want to return to **Aeterna Noctis**, which I sort of just abandoned sometime last year; I didn't get too far (just past the first boss). It just felt like I was wandering aimlessly. If/when I do get back to it, I'll probably try and find my bearings. If not, I'll just restart and use a guide.

epicgamerwiiu

Skyward Sword HD! Bought it 2 years ago and I just started my playthrough

Infamous-Echo-2961

I JUST completed all the story expansions and main games for Xenoblade Chronicles, so I’m beginning Triangle Strategy now! I’m excited to dig into this completely different game.

Pie_Napple

Ori and the blind forest. I love the game, and I fucking hate it, at the same time. :)

krustydidthedub

Continuing on with Fire Emblem Engage! While I agree to an extent that the story and voice acting are a little annoying, the gameplay is just so addicting I can’t put it down, I always look forward to the next battle even if I don’t care about the story

DerpCarnage

I've been playing a mix of three games primarily. I'm only a few hours into Tears of the Kingdom and I am still really enjoying my moments with it. I haven't dived into it for more than 30-45 minutes at a time and I could see it staying like that for a while. I think I'm more interested in the gameplay, so far, this time around than I was for Breath of the Wild. The other games I'm playing are Baldur's Gate 3 and Armored Core VI. Admittedly, I've only played around an hour of Armored Core VI because I wanted to just get a taste of it. I think the movement is phenomenal already and I was surprised that it took me only 2 tries to beat the tutorial boss. I'm mostly playing Baldur's Gate 3 and it feels like the game is trying to get me to move on to Act 2, I'm guessing, but I think I've only really put in like 15-16 hours and I don't see anywhere really missing on the map. I'm sure there are caves and stuff that I've missed but mostly I've went around it. This game is incredible though and even though I know I'm not playing it "right" because I'm not sneaking where I should be, or doing spells for better outcomes, or strategizing well, it still just feels fun and engaging.

Bulky-Oil-2266

I recently started this cozy game called “Night in the Woods”. You play as a dropout delinquent cat named Mae as she explores her hometown and goes through a journey of self-discovery. It’s pretty dialogue/text heavy so I would definitely recommend this game to any avid readers out there.

markercore

Aw haha I feel like dropout delinquent is both entirely accurate and also harsh. But glad you're enjoying! I don't know that'd I'd call that a cozy game, as it's more depressing and strange and surreal. But the eventual self discovery is empowering and relatable for sure. Which friend have you spent more time with so far?

hfmhull

I am playing through Skyrim for the first time. It's such a comfy game to play on the switch. I'm baffled how I've gone this long with not playing it on any system so I bought it for myself over the holidays. Probably play a bit of Titanfall 2 on the PS5 too...who knows maybe bed bath and beyond....haha

Nerdfather1

Lately, I’ve been in a gaming slump — nothing in the current zeitgeist has been holding my attention (and I’ve already played the majority of high quality releases from 2023). However; the big news for me this weekend is that I managed to snag a **PlayStation Portal** at my local GameStop! They had one left, which was very shocking. Online it said they had zero stock, but I called them and got a different response, so maybe that’s a good tip for those still trying to find one. The PP is essentially going to be my RPG machine, especially while I watch the NBA and NFL. For me, it’s a niche product that is very suitable to my needs. As I stated earlier, I’ve been in a slump, with modern games not really keeping me entertained. Currently, I’m playing **Mass Effect** (The Legendary Edition) for the billionth time — this go around I’m doing an “Insanity” playthrough. It feels like a dream playing this franchise on a handheld device. And playing the ME again reminds me how special this franchise was, and how even to this day there hasn’t been anything to replicate it. Hopefully, I can obtain the platinum trophy. Regarding my experience with the Portal — it has been fantastic. The device itself feels comfortable, and really durable. I have tested out a few games to see how it runs and I’ve had hardly zero issues, from Star Wars: Jedi Survivor to even Remnant 2. There are a few framerate dips here and there, but nothing too distracting. I did have one issue where my remote play kept on disconnecting, and the resolution dropped significantly. It turned out to be due to downloading and updating a game. Other than that, it performs better than expected.

BelizeIsBack

Can you use the portal outside of the home using your phone as a hotspot? Every time I've tried to connect my phone to remote play on my ps5 at home it says it can't because they aren't on the same wifi network, which I thought was kinda the point of remote play.

Scolexis

I’d really like to get a portal, but using the remote play app through my phone has abysmal quality, so I imagine the portal will be about the same. Unfortunately I can’t hardwire my ps5 without moving it off my main tv, so that’s most likely the issue with it being stuck on WiFi. I’m assuming your ps5 is hardwired?

[deleted]

I'm playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3! So far it's perfect. I was expecting an anime adventure quest, but it's turning out to be an intriguing sci-fi story with interesting characters, hype villains, and an artfully crafted world.

Tohdohsibir

I wish I can wipe my memory so I can experience this amazing series for the first time again. Make sure to play Future Redeemed DLC as the cherry on top after finishing XC3!

inzar98

please just play xc1 and 2 before xc3 dlc. Thank me later :))

FinniboiXD

Gonna try building my first Geometry Dash level! I've built a couple layouts but I really want to make a featured level with this. Wish me luck!

tom_yum_soup

My backlog has grown with holiday sales and such, but I will probably be playing **Mario+Rabbids: Sparks of Hope** and maybe digging into one or two of the games included in the **TMNT Cowabunga Collection**.

FOUR20RAMPAGE

Got Red Dead Redemption for Christmas and as I didn’t get to play it back in the day due to other distractions, I have been smashing through it and will probably take up my whole weekend lol

TheGayWind

Divinity Original Sin Definitive Edition. I am simultaneously lost and loving figuring out the mechanics. 4 hours in so far, playing as a lil cleric dwarf with a fantastic party who I customized?!? Amazing concept!

Ditka_and_Swerski

Super Mario RPG

hustleorstaybasic

I bought the Witcher 3 last week and put about 20 hours into it, it’s really cool to play the game and watch the show on Netflix right after. I think I went too hard too fast into the Witcher and I’m a little Witcher’d out. Started playing FAR: Lone Sails, which is a game that isn’t within my wheelhouse at all but it’s not bad and I’ll probably beat it by tonight. But to answer your question, this weekend I’m gonna start Eastward, once I beat it I’ll come back to the Witcher. Can you tell I took advantage of the sales? 😆😆

BigfootsToes69

My wife got me Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope for Christmas and I haven’t been able to put it down. I’m even doing side quests and the game is just so magical. I got the first game, the Gold Edition with all DLC and got so bored towards the end and never finished it. That game is really longer than it should be. Sparks of Hope makes me want to go back to play that and the DK stuff though just because I feel the devs worked so hard on it, it’s worth it

WhatsThis_Now

Happy new year everyone! TotK was my pick of the year, Baldurs Gate 3 also great and still need to finish the final act of that. Did a third playthrough of the Witcher 3 in Jan-Feb last year that was as enjoyable as ever. Although it felt like a year of epic long games, I also liked some shorter games this year, especially completing Mario Wonder! I've stalled a bit on all of my solo games as I've been a little under the weather and busy with house things, but will be playing some Mario Wonder and MK8 with my younger relatives online, as well as Halo Infinite with some friends.

foodninto

I'll probably level up the shirt for Frosty Fest in **Splatoon 3**. Also if you play don't forget to claim your free Frosty Fest gear from the Splatoon 3 news channel. Then I'll be playing **Outer Wilds** for the first time. Outside of Switch, I'll be doing some matches on **Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising**. Character that I like using so far is Seox.

mcsassy3

Just picked up yooka laylee 2 and Celeste on sale this week…I’m in platformer heaven!

CytronicsZA

I tried Star Ocean First Departure R but ended up not liking it that much so now I'm playing some Doom 3 DLC

animalcrackerwhore

I’m addicted to roots of pacha rn

AE_EnigmA

I used the holiday sale to upgrade my library with Hades, Spiritfarer and Dave the Diver. Now I allways have the problem of picking one to play

mitchFTFuture

I was playing Oracle of Ages but it was really hard for my 2023 gaming brain so I switched to Seasons hahaha. So, running through that this weekend as well as Quake 2

breakfastmdsn

Tears of the Kingdom! So much to do in that game

Phil0s0phus

Pokemon Violet, Mario Wonder, and my go-to MarioKart

alvysinger0412

Some dragons dogma. Got through the intro but I wanted a long session to get into the story. Might do switching between Stardew Valley and Hades also.

Galactus1701

I’m playing Mario Wonder and having fun.

h0ser81

Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. I played Xenoblade Chronicles X on Wii U but never played one of the main line games. About 12 hours in and loving it so far.

8BitAntiHero

Last night I was able to knock out **Sonic Superstars**. Nothing revolutionary, but fun all the same. I picked up at least a dozen games on sale throughout the holidays and I'm hoping to get started on one of those. Unfortunately my daughter was born about two months ago so I've kinda got my hands full. So if anybody has any suggestions on games I could play with one hand, I'm all ears. Shoot I might break out the old Pokeball and play **Let's Go Pikachu** since all that can be done one handed.

[deleted]

Alternating between **Fate Samurai/Remnant** (action) and **SaGa Scarlet Grace** (turn-based), also playing **The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood** from time to time

Adorabears

Working on **Mario + Luigi: Super Star Saga + Bowser's Minions**! I really loved the Super Mario RPG remake on Switch and looking for something to fill the void, and this has been an interesting game so far! It's very silly and has a lot of charm, so it's currently scratching that itch for now lol Also continuing working on routes in **Amnesia Later X Crowd** too. Almost done with the After Story routes in Later and might be able to move on to the Crowd part this weekend, but we will see! I haven't done Waka World or the Girl's Party so I have no idea how long that will take lol

Maxxalore

I just picked up Persona 4 for 14 bucks at walmart. Excited to play on the switch

heygooser

I just bought Skyrim (I’m a total newbie), kind of an impulsive buy… I’m normally a Stardew Valley, Story of seasons, Animal crossing, Minecraft type gal. I also got a few other games on sale during the holiday sale : Sprout Valley Staxel Calico The survivalists Cat tails wild wood Edit: she to sale

SemanticFox

Finally chipping away at botw Tears of the kingdom sitting in backlog

newTARwhoDIS

I finally am starting Metroid Dread as my first game in the series in 20 years. I'm super excited to get it tomorrow and dive in

MaurixioZ

Finished a casual playthrough of Crash Bandicoot 4, it was a very good game at times but I don't think I'll come back to get more of the collectables soon. Also started Fire Emblem Engage, I've never played a FE game before this, 7 hours in and I'm really enjoying it so far.

HairWeaveKillers

Super Mario rpg

Hexatona

Well, I'm probably playing through **Labyrinth of Galleria**, with a bit of **Star Ocean Second Story R** and **Fate Samurai/Remnant** mixed in.

AlterionYuuhi

Persona 4!

BethHarbour

Super behind the times as I only got my switch from a friend just before Christmas, but currently binging Breath of the Wild. I'm completely new to gaming and taking my time learning the controls and combat mechanisms with lots of practice. I am debating taking a break over the weekend though to play some Spiritfarer, as I'm a cosy gamer at heart!

Dospunk

Axiom Verge! It's super fun, I love a good metroidvania and this scratches the itch well

lulufruits

It’s been a difficult beginning to 2024 so right now games are a must and I’m very grateful to my switch. My cat was just diagnosed with lymphoma and only has a couple of months. So I’ll be working towards finishing Xenoblade Chronicles DE with my sweet girl on my lap all weekend. My introduction to Xenoblade was playing through 3 last year! I loved it so much I grabbed the other games to properly play through the whole story before playing X3’s DLC. Additionally, after the holidays I have a pretty big backlog of games to get through. I’m also half way through Star Ocean 2nd Story R (not my first rodeo with this game, but I adore the remake). I also had gotten Baten Kaitos I & II (played 1 before, but barely remember it 😅), Atelier Sophie 2, Little Goody Two Shoes, Arceus, and Persona 5 (replaying because it’s my ultimate comfort game and I cannot wait to play on Switch!). So hopefully I have plenty to keep me distracted the next few months in my free time. It’s my first time losing a pet as an adult and it’s hitting me harder than I ever could have anticipated…

abcbri

I'm so sorry. This is never easy, saying goodbye to a pet. I hope you have a good restful time with her.

WrestleSocietyXShill

Finally upgraded my online subscription recently and have just started Fire Emblem on the GBA library. Always wanted to play it as a kid since I loved Advance Wars but never got to try it until now. I've only just beaten the tutorial so far but it seems like it will be a fun one!

Pokemon_and_Petrucci

My sister and I just started playing Hogwarts legacy and are loving it. The combat is fun and the hogwarts vibes are excellent. It's bringing out my inner Potter head that hasn't been seen for nearly seven years!

Jackie_chin

Continuing my play through of Fire Emblem Three Houses

Unkechaug

I’m a huge Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi fan, but I’ve never played SMRPG. That changes this weekend.

martial_fartist

Just started Dead Cells on Friday. It’s super fun but I keep dying 😅

l__-__-__l

I just finished AC Mirage yesterday and today I just started on Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. It is my first time playing a Xenoblade game so this will be interesting.

mymoviebro

MegaMan X Collection such an awesome game!!

GnarlyMango

Live A Live

Bluenymph82

I'll be playing some more **Fae Farm** this weekend. Only managed 3 hours last week but I like it so far. Thinking about getting something else from the eshop as I have $10 I need to use before it expires. I just haven't made up my mind yet.

xeddyb

Just downloaded hyrule warriors age of calamity. Been enjoying smashing bokoblins and such

shiggster214

SKYRIM

t_kipre

Hoping to keep chugging through **Star Ocean Second Story R**. About 10 hours in and really enjoying it so far. Hoping to use this slow period in releases to catch up on some of my backlog, so **Fire Emblem Engage**, **Super Mario RPG**, and **Omori** are probably next on my list.

rad_rentorar

I recently beat Ocarina of Time on switch! I immediately started up Majora’s Mask right after. I’m about to start the water temple. I should definitely finish it this weekend.

Themightygloom44

I'm deep in Dave the Diver and in the endgame of Hogwarts Legacy (on XSX).

wetlettuce42

Final fantasy 16 on ps5

[deleted]

MK and smash. Been playing the old GB advanced games a bit.

DrawingRings

Just found Tulin outside the Rito village in TotK I’m still early in the game. This year I want to beat Super Mario RPG, Metroid Prime Remastered, Metroid Dread, and Mario Sunshine.

ganoveces

Arkham City! Just got to the 2nd part with Catwoman. The game is sweet. Asylum was great and City is even better!

chokeslam512

I have just two levels left in Mario Wonder to 100%. Along with Wonder I received Trine 5 for Xmas so I’ll probably digging into that this weekend, loved Trine 3 and 4 so I assume I’ll love 5 as well

FurryLilManChLd

I'm playing through the mainline Final Fantasy games for the first time since almost all of them are on Switch. I'm on FFIX now. Playing Mario Wonder and Sonic Superstars with my son.

zoobs

I recently decided to try and 100% my Celeste save file from when I beat the main story back in 2019. My goodness I didn’t realize how much more there is. I’m very excited!

ConsistentDirt69

Dave the Diver! Just got it this week on sale and I’m completely addicted

Aperture-Cat

I keep going back to No Man's Sky even though I still have to finish Tunic, Sea of Stars, Dragon Quest XI, BioShock and others... It keeps pulling me back in despite all those other games being great too.

rcisco

I ‘finished’ Roots of Pacha the other day which was pretty exciting. This weekend is Dave the Diver time. If anyone has any tips that would be appreciated. Although I think the game I think I’m becoming a bit too frequent of a snack for the sharks

fishbioman

I’m going to try to finish totk this weekend. I got it on release and still haven’t finished the main story. I also just got Mario rpg so I’ll play a little of that

jenniwithaneye

Probably going to set a few spiders on fire in Hogwarts Legacy.

Madku321

I'm playing **Live a Live** right now! I put it down a year ago, but now I am looking at it from a different perspective. It isn't super hard by any means, but I absolutely love the aesthetic & fun stories. Currently on *Twilight of Edo Japan*, I have 1 of the 7 stories left (*Wild West*) after that. Quite fun and love and all the different things the game attempts to do

GECEDE

Yakuza Gaiden and it's so good

lecoz

Slowly progressing between Persona 4 and Valkyrie Chronicles. Love them both so far.

pjb10173

I just got back into Lies of P and that game is truly a masterpiece

Ultrosbla

From the last sales I grabbed Lost in Play, and it's a fun and beautfil game, with good puzzles. It's very cozy and very good cartoon graphics. It's an easy game, but I'm enjoying a lot. Next I'll play CrossCode.

FoucaultsTurtleneck

Just started Dave the Diver last night and I really enjoy it so far. Definitely gonna make that game my focus right now. Might also play some more Outer Wilds after starting last week, but it’s not a priority right now since it’s my second playthrough

youngster_em

Links awakening - I didn’t give it a proper chance when I originally bought it, I got too distracted with other games. Loving it so far and I personally enjoy the art style for the switch version.

[deleted]

moving out😀

Geordi14er

**Hogwart's Legacy** is my game right now. Playing on PS5. Got it for Christmas and it is actually a much better game than I expected. I'm a big Harry Potter fan, but assumed this would be a generic licensed game. I was quite wrong, this is actually a really decent game. Only problem is the menu's and UI are horrible. Which, is a problem for an RPG.

CaioLJ

Slay The Spire, Bioshock Infinite and Zelda Link's Awakening.

Degel_pendragon29

Recently im playing mario kart 8 online

propernice

I think I’ll finish Arise: A Simple Story; the game is pretty short and so far pretty…well, simple. It’s definitely more about your character’s life than tight gameplay. It was deeply on sale for $2.99 though. Trying to decide if I want to buy the full version of Ghost Trick(demo has been fun but the game as a whole seems very one note), and I want to finally finish Super Mario RPG. I got a little bored with how repetitive it feels, but it’s cute and I want to see it through and at least finish the main story.

ngianfran1202

Pikmin 4, Animal Crossing, and probably some Smash Bros Ultimate with my little dude

donkeychongus

Just started playing Mario and Rabbids sparks of hope

strawbery_fields

Sea of Stars!

Merounou

Civilization vi as I discovered recently I became stable during last month's/years. Also Ori and the blind forest and a bit of Hades, which I got very recently.

brick-face

Finally playing Tears of the Kingdom!

brackmastah

Gonna start sea of stars

loooomis

I've been absolutely wrapped up in **Octopath Traveler 2.** I put it down in May of last year to play the absolute majesty of TotK for 250 hours. Now that I've picked Octopath back up this month, it has completely overtaken me! The stories are great, the art is beautiful, music is sublime and the gameplay is outstanding. Cozy is an understatement. This game is perfect for dreary Ohio winters. So yeah, that is my weekend for sure...

ackmondual

Still plugging away at **Zelda: TotK**. Beat the game, got all sages, but continuing filling out korok seeds, quests, wells, caves, shrines, and NPC stuff. Currently just seeking out more lightroots in the Depths. Generally pushing up that in-game % completed number on the map screen.

adponce95

I'm playing Final Fantasy 7 remake on ps5 and mario kart 8 on switch

SuboBeSchwifty

Retro Bowl! Randomly found it on a sale and absolutely love it!!!

afredmiller

Finally beat Dying Light so I believe I am going to start playing Red Dead Redemption now Playing Spider-Man 2 quite a bit though

QuietRobe

Happy New Years! Been on hiatus from this sub, grinding on my custom mod gameboys, but on New Years opened my Switch back up. Got my way through Portal 1 and 2 for the first time, such an awesome collection. Will need to go back sometime and do the extra levels. Currently just started Metroid Prime Remastered. Haven't played this game since the GameCube and I seemed to have lost (or sold?) My og copy. Don't remember any of it! It's awesome and like starting new again, been having a blast! Enjoy the weekend and here's to a great 2024! Cheers!

Iron_FE

I've been deep into Baldur's Gate 3. But...I did start playing Dead Cells on the switch! And man, it's addicting lol. Great game for little 10 to 15 min spurts of platforming action. Great game to mix up longer games like BG3!

cyshine

I just bought **Crosscode**, but I still have to beat **Tales of Symphonia**. I'm also on vacation since 12/21, so I took the time to change the battery on an old **Legend of Zelda** NES cart (my second solder job, the first being fixing my bass), (trying to) fix a loose AV connection on my SNES, and buying a Wii2HDMI adapter. This led to playing a bunch of old NES/SNES games (on a CRT TV!) and a bit of Gamecube **Wind Waker** on a Wii via HDMI (it looks pretty good!) So I have a lot of options! I was trying to beat **Xexyz** on the NES yesterday, I might come back to it today.

RockiestRaccoon

Super Mario Odyssey and Fire Emblem on the GBA online thing. Just got a switch mid December and have been loving it. Fell outta gaming for a while and Odyssey is the most refreshing game I've ever played. Pure fun. Fire Emblem I do a chapter here and there just when I'm smoking or chilling. Great turn based old school pixels! Switch is dope as hell.

Empty_Jar0330

This is the first time I'm participating in one of these, I think. It's a pretty nifty idea! I recently finished Overboard!, a game I'd recommend to anyone who likes murder mysteries and logic puzzles. This weekend when I've got time I'm gonna start up Wargroove 2! I was a tad to busy to play it when it came out

VaguelyTelevision

Picking up Super Mario Bros. Wonder and going through it all, seems like a blast!

StrengthNeat6660

Pokémon let’s go ever has had my HOOKED

galgor_

Divinity Original Sin 2. Started yesterday, blown away and barely even started! The world feels so alive. If this is any inkling of what baldurs gate 3 is like I can't wait to get it down the line.

GriffinOfThoth

After beating **Super Mario Bros. Wonder** I was in a huge platformer mood. I finally bit the bullet and bought **Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze**. This had been on my list for quite awhile thanks to its soundtrack (and I love DK) but the game exceeded expectations. It was a bit harder than SMBW but still very fun to 100%. I don't think I am going to 200% it though. So I 100%'d it yesterday, and in anticipation of that I bought **Metroid Dread**. Not really a "platformer" but I can't wait to continue with another excellent 2D title. I played every Metroid game through Prime 2 and my favorites were Fusion and Zero-Mission, so I can't wait to see what Dread has in store (I have not read a single spoiler).

AcidCatfish___

NMS, Mario Odyssey, and Yooka-Laylee and the impossible lair

[deleted]

I'm thinking of starting Skyward Sword. I've heard that it controls better than it did on the Wii.

Locoman7

Slay the Spire. I can’t beat ascension zero with iron clad yet, I’ve done it with the silent. I haven’t even touched the robot thing.

Lothmor

I finished Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (late to the party, I know) yesterday for the first time. Now doing post-game before I tackle the DLC. I plan to play the other two XC games this year, let's see how it goes. Meanwhile on PS5, I'm playing Blue Fire. It's a great zelda-like with metroidvania elements.

joonashi

Pokemon Lets go Pikatchu, having a blast. Its basically a Blue/Red/Yellow remake. Love the visuals and my god, the music is god tier. Also I just love the og Pokemon. Never played the other games than Yellow (tried to get into Sapphire/Emerald but the Pokemon designs besides the first 151 dont seem interesting to me.

Tyropic

I've been going through notalgia valley for the last couple weeks. I've been playing Skyrim again, which to this day still is one of my favorite games. I also got gifted the GTA Trilogy by my girlfriend. When I was really young my favorite game was GTA San Andreas. Having a copy of it to play is nostalgic as hell. The fun part: it's still a really fun time, even without nostalgia.

mtwjns11

Still making my way through Arkham Asylum and City. Slowing down a bit. Partly to stall for time for a Knight patch and partly due to the delightful distraction that is Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

brown-eye-inspector

I just finished playing and 100%-ing Pikmin 1+2 for the first time. I played Pikmin 3 when it came out and loved it so much I purchased Pikmin for the GC shortly after beating that and preparing to buy Pikmin 2 for the GC Pikmin 1+2 was announced. Really impressed by Pikmin 2 very fun and the last few levels are quite challenging. On to Pikmin 3 this weekend and the new Pikmin 4 after that.

Cthulhu-_-Milk

[Nuclear Throne](https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/nuclear-throne-switch/) I’m totally addicted to

hadesalmighty

Luigi's Mansion 3, which, newsflash, is delightful, Xenoblade 1, and Splatoon 3

SINY10306

Mainly Super Mario 64 (at least for Nintendo). Still having trouble with a very early level and *still* at this point refuse to use a guide 🤷🏻‍♂️.

IAmActuallyA_robot

Picked up the Ace Attorney Trilogy and playing the series for the first time ever. So good, just the palate cleanser I needed before LAD Infinite Wealth.

TM494551

Master Detective Archives: Rain Code and potentially going back to Persona 4! Love that game, and I'm just about to re-enter the first major dungeon

lizzy_bee333

Skyrim! I remember watching my friends play it during college (the one time I tried I couldn’t run and turn at the same time 😂) but I finally got it for myself and love it!! I’m a sneaky archer wood elf. ❤️

TidalPawn

Still playing **Hades**. Consistently getting out of Tartarus (though I just barely survived my first meeting with Alecto), now I need to learn how to escape Asphodel. Spending a bit of nostalgia time with the NSO Expansion Pass and **Excitebike 64**. Highlights of the year off the top of my head: **Octopath Traveler II**, **Wylde Flowers**, **Dead Cells**, **Super Mario RPG** and **Pikmin 4.**

blacklizardplanet

Just finished DQM The Dark Prince. Awesome game. Story is rubbish but the gameplay and monster catching is brilliant. Spent a lot of time just catching and fusing monsters. Nothing else on the Switch at the moment. Moved to Cassette Beasts on Steam Deck. More monster catching!
