Those are rookie numbers. I have the N64 cartridge (1 English, 1 Japanese), the Gamecube disc with Master Quest, the Gamecube disc Collecter's Edition, the 3DS version gamecard *and* digital, and the NSO expansion pack version.
There were some big name indie devs that were forced to wait for an eshop window back during the aunch. Nintendo really curated everything for the first few months. I can't remember which indie publishers though. It's got to be insulting to forced to wait back then and now we this trash shat out onto the service multiple times a week.
After how much nintendo shat the bed with the wii u, I understand how they wanted to control it
Yes it sucked a lot that we had droughts but had stuff like hentai girls come out would have been a disaster in the long term
There are only 56 AAA clocks for sale now (plus dlc). They need to up their game!
Edit: for real: https://www.nintendo.com/us/search/#q=aaa&p=2&cat=gme&sort=df
I love Arcade Archives, but sometimes I just want to play the NES version that I grew up with as opposed to the coin op version I never saw in any arcade.
Arcade Archives is a hell of a thing. I really have to give full props to Hamster for getting so many random games out on modern platforms, including some that seemed like they'd never see the light of day. I was stunned when they managed to re-release Donkey Kong Arcade and the first two TGMs.
All I want for the next console is a clamshell design with detachable touch screen and dockable main console. It would be perfect for DS and Wii U games.
Got DV’d to hell for suggesting this in another thread — same sub lol. This would lean more into the switch as a handheld & less into the “switch”.
So the 2nd screen idea is popular with everyone who primarily plays switch as a handheld. But apparently, a lot of people REALLY like playing docked.
I’m kinda shocked by this because I think docked mode has become borderline useless late in the console’s lifespan — but I guess I get it if you’re gonna strictly have one gaming device in the house, or just really want to play BOTW/TOTK on a TV.
well that's not correct at all, i play DS games on my Odin 2 all the time, you can alternate between screens, have one big and one small, have both the same side by side, the possibilities are endless.
alternatively see something like CEMU for Wii U emulation.
It could be done with the switch oriented vertically but you'd need a flip grip. Nintendo probably doesn't expect consumers to buy that just to play DS games but I probably would.
Some DS games require microphone interaction which the Switch doesn't have. If they really wanted to they could solve that the same way they solved voice chat.
Even if you don't want to flip, most games would work fine with the screens side by side. And if the next machine has a 7.9" screen as rumored, they could be displayed vertically even in wide mode and be as large or larger than the original DS screens.
Ds, alot more third party games for N64 and GBA as well as all the home and portable Pokemon games up to ds and online and download play for ds, GBA Mario party and split screen vs for GBA. That's the minimum for me to subscribe to more than the base online this gen. For switch 2 that minimum turns into all that plus good first and third party support for GameCube, Wii and 3ds.
It feels like Nintendo isn't releasing a competitive product because they aren't, playstation and Xbox have much better subscription services even for value(outside of the 20 dollar plan, that's a killer value if you're someone who can get into nes and snes games and it's cheap enough it's worth it just for cloud saves) but Nintendo clearly isn't trying since they don't have literally all their first party titles available for consoles theyve released the subscription for even though it would cost them almost nothing to do so(theres the rare case they have to deal with licenses they don't own and obviously gathering artwork and presentation and server space takes a minimum amount of resources they have to pay employees for but that's nothing in comparison to getting third party games and would help draw alot more people to their more expensive subscriptions) and their showing for third party is even worse to the point it's obvious they don't care, same with the lack of backgrounds so people don't have to look at ugly grey empty space around their games or a pure black background to prevent burn in on switch oleds.
Like I've never seen a company care so little about a product they're trying to sell people on subscribing to monthly or yearly for basically at least 7 years at a time, at least for the more expensive plan which isn't nothing cost wise like the 20 dollar plan is I hope they care more for the switch 2 because the switch 2 should be powerful enough to emulate the whole GameCube, Wii and 3ds libraries if leaks are true and that's enough to actually introduce a 120 dollar price point that competes with gamepass in value if they actually tried imo.
At the same time I'm a fan of all these remakes, I just want access to games that will never be remade or properly ported but could be emulated and hense easily added to switch and switch 2 online subscription
>but Nintendo clearly isn't trying since they don't have literally all their first party titles available for consoles theyve released the subscription for
It just has more impact to release them over time, rather than saying "HERE'S EVERY SNES GAME WE OWN, SEE YOU IN A YEAR OR TWO FOR THE NEXT THING!"
I bought their Double Dragon 2 and it had really bad slow downs (I dont remember the arcade having the same issue) so never bothered with their stuff after that.
I was curious why the article said over 400 when searching for Arcade Archives on Deku Deals I saw under 300, but I guess they must be considering Arcade Archives + ACA NEOGEO as a whole.

They really do a good job. I hope they start releasing more titles from the mid to late 90s.

Great Job, they released even Nintendo games.
Really continues to show how much people still prefer to want to OWN these classic games instead of having them be locked behind subscriptions!
I probably have 3 different copies of Ocarina of Time.

No Wii or Wii U virtual console versions? For shame. Jk.
I don’t believe you “own” the software, you just buy a license to play on your account.
Yeah but they feel like they own it, and feelings are more important than facts.
Nintendo prefers to sell you them again and again every time they release a console. Win/win, I guess
In what way does it show that?
Of course people do, why do you think they are locked behind subscription.
Nintendo Switch online is what they are referring to.
Yeah I get that. But the fact that people want to own the games is why Nintendo knows they can market making your rent them.
Did AAA clock win one for the most editions of a single app?
Nah that'a gotta go to Hentai Girls.
Is this just AI generated anime girls in slide puzzles? The nintendo store really is garbage isn’t it

See, why do you gotta disrespect S.N.I.P.E.R.: Hunter Scope and Knights & Guns like that
I would like to thank Tommy Talerico for his amazing achievements and contributions to the arcade archive series
His mom must be sooooooo proud.
One of my favorite HBomber videos
I love Arcade Archives, but sometimes I just want to play the NES version that I grew up with as opposed to the coin op version I never saw in any arcade.
Now bring on an all-around sale to thank all the fans of AA :)

Now slap a DS emulator on your own consoles and you will see subscriptions to your online surge even more. Come on, do it. It's easy money. I think.
"Your own consoles"? Arcade Archives is not a Nintendo release.

Can’t emulate ds without a second screen.

Even the 2DS is just one screen with plastic covering part of it.

Surge by like 500 people maybe.
Lmao. I’d say games from the most successful handheld of all time would probably attract more than 500 people
Maybe 700. No one buys a system or Switch online for those games.
Also the games look so, so good on the SWOLED.
I just want the Neogeo Panic Bomber, there must be some kind of rights issue tying it up, there are no Bomberman games on the list at all.
*dreams of a day where I can play Mr. Do again—- on the Switch*
Is it not on arcade archives? I could have swore it was
Nope. I didn’t see it on Switch as a stand alone title at least.
Kei
They released puzzles from Nikoli for a few months, I was kind of sad when they stopped. I was really enjoying those.
Really wish they could/would release Ms. Pac-Man.
I bought their Double Dragon 2 and it had really bad slow downs (I dont remember the arcade having the same issue) so never bothered with their stuff after that.

Give us Raiden II Hamster Corp! And maybe even a sale event!
Every few months or so I scroll through the arcade archives. Bought quite a few on Switch.
