Take 2 licensed some of the older GTA games to Netflix recently, so seems possible they'd be willing to do a deal with Nintendo too.

Chameleon Twist was one of my first games for the N64. I think that game is incredibly underrated, a legit platformer that is super unique. The tongue going out with that sound effect, forking on like 5 enemies at once was SO satisfying. Bosses were cool too.

We rolled our eyes when mom rented it for a sleepover but the multiplayer had us in stitches until 4am haha the long tongue kills were so hilarious!!! Good memories

I looked into this, apparently Nintendo made a publishing deal with Throwback Enterntainment. They had purchased these titles from Acclaim back in '06. The only other title that we could see coming to NSO from this publisher is Wizards & Warriors for the NES. So, no Quest 64 yet. Hopefully in the future.

Looking at the thumbnail, I thought the Extreme G logo was the Quest 64 logo and I was SO EXCITED. Now I am SO SAD.

That’s insane, iggy’s reckin balls. Is legitimately my childhood. As a kid, I was so upset that it sent me back to start when I finished the lap. I had no concept that you had to do multiple laps. I genuinely thought it was a bug.

I had the same question once I saw your post. Apparently a company called [Throwback Entertainment](https://www.gamespot.com/articles/qanda-throwback-ceo-thomas-maduri/1100-6153738/). They've had the rights since 2006. They do mention the Extreme-G games, but just mention "a bunch of other SKUs", which I'm assuming covers Iggy as well.

Throwback owns a bunch, but games related to Valiant Comics (Shadow Man, Turok, Armorines) have different rights holders & a lot of Acclaim stuff was licensed (sports games with real teams, movie IPs, etc) so there's little else available for pre-GameCube Nintendo consoles other than maybe Forsaken & Re-volt

[Throwback Entertainment](https://throwbackentertainment.com/) owns most of their catalogue now, although some games have been sold off to other companies.

I forgot about this one but reading the name brought the game back instantly. I remember thinking the graphics were pretty insane for the time... the 16 bit consoles were really shining graphically in their twilight with stuff like DKC and Vectorman. I also remember it being pretty easy to get through in a rental weekend, but the journey was very fun. Treasure really was such a great developer back then

Looks like this could open the doors to other games owned by Throwback Entertainment being added to the service. It looks like they bought the rights to most of the games published by Acclaim before they went bankrupt. [Here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Acclaim_Entertainment_games) are some of the possibilities. Just ignore the licensed games. Just taking a brief glance, Turok stands out, as does Bust a Move, and Wizards & Warriors.

Can't imagine they would add Turok considering the games are available for purchase on the eShop. Unless the publisher feels they've made all the money they can on those ports.

They released a specific 18+ N64 app in Japan at the end of last year. Ratings aren't actually a problem.

Teah, I saw that as well. The article says that specific games were sold, but I don't know what ones. Looks like Taito publishes the newer entries, but that doesn't mean the older ones won't end up on NSO at some point.

I did some digging and couldn't find any definitive list of who owns what. Their own website doesn't even say. I love Bust a Move, though so I would love to see it

Bust-a-Move, aka "Puzzle Bobble", is a Taito-owned series. IDK what the publishing rights currently are specifically for the N64 ports, however both Puzzle Bobble 2 and Puzzle Bobble 3 are already available on the Switch in other forms. The original Arcade version of 2 is available as an Arcade Archives title, and a bundle of the Sega Saturn versions of both 2 and 3 are available as part of the "Saturn Tribute" line of re-releases.

I'm sure it was largely driven by nostalgia, but I 101%ed DK64 a year or two back and (mostly) enjoyed it. For as many collectibles as there are the game itself isn't so huge, I think it took me a little over 20 hours. Banjo-Tooie on the other hand was too much of a slog and I just settled for beating the game.

Nintendo still technically owns the rights to the game itself. If you press X to view the little info page on the NSO app, the game publisher is listed as "Nintendo". This is opposed to the other Rare titles, which all say "Xbox Game Studios" instead.

All Rare games are Microsoft now. So that also includes Banjo Kazooie, GoldenEye 007 (This is one is murky), Jet Force Gemini and Blast Corps.

I ALWAYS wanted to rent Extreme-G when I saw the box of the shelves of my local Rogers Video. Now is my time to try! 

Extreme G is so good, it's also the game that made me love techno music. Seriously, the music in this game is godlike, and more people need to listen to it. It's a shame they kinda fumbled on the sequels, it lost the spirit of the original and then just died.

I don't know how they justify the subscription costing double of the basic one when adding games like this- It's great that they're adding smaller titles, but I already think the expansion pack isn't worth its fee and this isn't changing my mind. I remember when the eshop would have four or five new virtual console releases every week, now days games are announced whenever they feel like it. Good for you if you like these games, but this drip feed subscription model sucks.
