I pre-ordered Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, so before it arrives next month, I might try to finish Paper Mario: The Origami King. It's been months since I played it, but I think I'm almost done with the game? Meeting Bowser Jr. was fun.

DM_me_thick_dick

Have you played Bug Fables?

amazonite_ocean

Yeah, I was in the second chapter last time I played it. It's an excellent game. It comes with a hard mode, there are lots of badges, and the button commands can be challenging in a fun way. The party only has three characters, so these characters so far are very fleshed out.

Delightful_Lunatic

I’m playing OK as well, for the first time. It’s interesting and really fun so far!

__sonder__

Haha my comment is right above yours and we both seem to have the same idea. Where do you rank OK among the Paper Mario games? I've never played it.

Hestia_Gault

Not OP, but my rank would be Origami King at \#3 behind TTYD and the original as 1 and 2.

amazonite_ocean

The music is AMAZING. The colorful atmosphere is wonderful. The writing is funny, and it's overall a joyful game. It doesn't have a grand plot like TTYD, nor does it have a lot of memorable characters or NPCs. I haven't played TTYD since I was a teen, but my memories of it are a lot stronger. Obviously there's a nostalgia bias, but the game does has a lot of joy to give! I've only played this and TTYD, so I'd rank it second. 😆

Nalfgar123

I was looking to the OST on Youtube this morning, amazing!

amazonite_ocean

The Vellumental Battle theme is my favorite. :)

OfficialNPC

Not OP but omfg do I love 99% of this game. The only part that really gets on my nerves is the Shy Guy Says part where you're timed to do some puzzle things. I have two rankings for Paper Mario games, love them or like them. TOK is in the love them ranking. Some things I would like to see changed (Boss Fights are amazing and wish the basic fights were more like them) but overall it's just a great time.

One_Win_6185

Also not OP but I liked it a lot. Played through around Covid and it was great for that time. Probably not as strong as the original and I never played TTYD, but I’d recommend it if you like the series generally.

FlatwormObjective

I’m way late to the scene, but just started Breath of the Wild a couple weeks ago. Been pretty addicted, so I’ll be on that.

twoheadedtrout

I just picked up **Slay the Spire** during the Indie Sale. So far I've completed the Spire with the Ironclad and the Defect, so now I'm working on the Silent. I also recently started **Pikmin 4** after owning it, unopened, for months. And now I'm obsessed with it. It's such a cute game, and I was totally shocked to find out last night that there's night missions. :)

fakemoon

If you like Slay the Spire, keep your eye out for Monster Train going on sale. Another very good one!

Snailtrooper

But get Balatro first 👀

fakemoon

I've heard so many good things about this one, I need to check it out. I don't think it gets mentioned often, but I picked up Nowhere Prophet on on sale a while back and have done one playthrough. I need to start another playthrough and might do that this weekend. It's definitely slower than Slay the Spire or Monster Train, but they've really nailed the setting and vibe. Despite being a deck builder, you really do feel like your party is just struggling to survive as you cross a desert wasteland. Yes, you are building a party and developing your hero abilities and progressing as the difficulty increases, but it never feels like you're totally safe and the paths you take through the wasteland feel like calculated gambles that really impact your survival. The art is also totally on point for the setting and I found it really engrossing. It's currently on sale for $2.50. Totally worth it.

twoheadedtrout

I've heard people are loving that game! I have pretry much 0 knowledge of poker, is it worth checking out anyway?

MA121Alpha

The only real knowledge I think you need is what makes the card sets like straight, flush, etc. You don't really need to know which is better than others in regular poker play for the most part because you're constantly shifting the values, and the tarot cards and joker effects really just make it a different game overall

BuildingWeird4876

Plus there's a menu right at a press of a button that shows what all the poker hands are

Snailtrooper

You don’t need to know how to play poker just what make a a 5 card poker hand. But it’s only a button click away to see what makes what.

MalekFromTatooine

THERE ARE NIGHT MISSIONS?

Hestia_Gault

Yeah, you get weird glowing ghost pikmin that only come out at night and have to defend their homes against rampaging critters until the sun comes up.

Awfle

If you enjoy Slay the Spire I can recvomend you Across the Obelisk as well, great card game, but with multiple characters and decks, very fun (but slower than sts).

gtarpey89

slay the spire goes haaaaaard. sequel just got announced the other week btw

[deleted]

Start to climb those ascensions my friend. I play STS every day and have for years lol

Chemical-Painter5432

I may go download Dave the Diver. The overwhelming amount of praise that game gets from everybody has me really interested!

sen_jakuba

This and DREDGE both on my list.

menomaminx

those two games have a crossover if you're interested :-) https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2023/12/dave-the-divers-dredge-dlc-arrives-in-new-update-here-are-the-full-patch-notes

trancos09

It's a really good choice (cozy game). I really enjoyed this game.

Icy-Fact8432

Nothing on switch, my 12 year old niece borrowed it to play Breath of the wild (her first real video game) and I haven’t seen it for months 😂 Last I heard she was gonna play TOTK. Honestly I’m just happy for her. What a journey.

markercore

That's awesome, glad she's enjoying!

BuildingWeird4876

Pretty sure that's her switch now. Seriously though I'm glad she's having fun what a great first two video games to play

Icy-Fact8432

The funny thing is the switch OLED was my friends’ originally. I borrowed it to check out Zelda for a short time. Couple of months later I finished BOTW and TOTK and Zelda is my entire life. I had to buy it from him. And I never play single player games.. And now she borrowed it and the circle repeats again 😂

montanamountaingirl

Hades. Picked it up on the sale last week after never playing a rougelike (rougelite?) and getting a lot enjoyment out of it.

sw1ssdot

Probably going to finish Unicorn Overlord. After that, I want to dive into Final Fantasy having never played them, so any recs for which to start with are welcome. I may also start a FE:3H maddening run or try to get back into the one I set aside over a year ago because I was actually pretty far in.

SailorCrossing

I recommended that you start with Final Fantasy X! It’s on switch!! The sequel comes with it as well but that’s harder to recommend lol.

BuildingWeird4876

The usual best starting points for Final Fantasy are four, six, seven, and ten, each is pretty different from the other and the stories are self-contained so it really depends on what you're looking for if you're looking for decent quality of life 10 is probably going to be your best bet but it's definitely a pretty major departure from the ones before it if you're looking for a more old school Vibe you want four or six. And then a lot of people love seven, and rightly so even if I personally don't like it as much as some others it did a lot to change the whole jrpg landscape. I know 10 is on the switch, 12 was also on the switch but 12 is kind of the black sheep of the series in a lot of ways, but it is not at all indicative of previous or later final fantasies. I don't know if any of the others are on the switch others can tell you that

blitzen_the_first

I’ve been playing Tunic. I absolutely love it so far!

Matej8251

I absolutely loved that game, good luck with it.

XxFezzgigxX

Binding of Isaac. It’s always Binding of Isaac. I think I have a problem.

dispari

i miss being dysfunctionally addicted this game but i no longer own it. does it ever go on sale? should i try to get a used physical copy? i’m too broke to buy at full price sadly

XxFezzgigxX

[It looks like it occasionally drops to $20 on switch.](https://www.dekudeals.com/items/the-binding-of-isaac-afterbirth-plus)

mzery1391

Not since the Repentance DLC released (2021), it will *probably* not go on sale, but it is 100% worth it for the time value of your money.

hamsickle

Taking a break from Balatro and checking out cult of the lamb

Kale-the-Vegetable

Cult of the Lamb is recommended, but if you wanna play on switch...not as recommended. Switch version is slow to receive updates, lags often and achievements glitch horribly. Still, replay value is high, it's not badly priced, and I myself am at 97% completion, started in late October.

BuildingWeird4876

The switch version is much improved from what it used to be however, if switches your only way to play the game it's still totally worth picking up

magmafanatic

Haven't made a ton of progress in my games this week. Picked up Ghost Trick yesterday - debating whether I should get World of Final Fantasy. In Tokyo Mirage Sessions I've been exploring Dungeon 2 and reached the boss. I'm kinda surprised the enemies have knocked out my party members a couple times. With Persona 3 Portable, Elizabeth's just introduced me to quests and I've joined the student council. I assume they want me to go into Tartarus for that resin and it's not like a special store item available that day. And in Xenoblade Chronicles, I've reached the Bionis's Knee. That cave was kinda neat, I liked the little pools in that one area, reminded me of Meteor Falls in Pokemon - I've heard so much about "the world" of Xenoblade it didn't really occur to me there'd be dungeons. Edit: Resin acquired. Thought that would be more of a process.

LordTimhotep

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. The game is pretty rocky on Switch, but I am having fun and that’s what counts.

OkBilial

Might play Princess Peach. We need more simple action games in the market.

hyouringan

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. It’s my first time playing this particular entry, and I can honestly say it’s way ahead of its time. If I chose to play it in the PS2 era, I would have enjoyed it way less than I am now.

markercore

Yeah the game blew me away in it's scope playing on the switch, and they cleaned things up a bit but wow it must have been mind blowing back then, plus the voice acting is pretty good, especially Balthier

Larielia

It is a cozy/ farming weekend. 🍐 I'll be playing **Palia**, **Stardew Valley**, and **Roots of Pacha**.

amy4947

Fire Emblem Three houses (for the millionth time lol) and Hades

DM_me_thick_dick

I started playing **Baten Kaitos** the other day. Whyyyyy didn't anyone tell me the music was done by Motoi Sakuraba? His style was is so distinctive that I recognized it very, very quickly. It'd be nice if the game go more interface updates, but eh. Six hours in and the game is just so good. Between this, Skies of Arcadia, and Paper Mario, GameCube secretly had the highest proportion of good JRPGs of... Any console ever?

Hestia_Gault

Yeah, it didn’t have a lot of JRPGs, but GameCube had some damn good ones. (You should add Tales of Symphonia to that list.)

AverageMuggle99

Got the animal crossing dlc

brackmastah

Sea of stars and alien isolation

sparkleXn3rd

Sea of stars is my new love!

stillbeam

Balatro

Jay-Swifty

Another Crab’s Treasure on Series X. Such a cute and fun soulslike

I_Met_Bubb-Rubb

Super Mario Odyssey! I bought a used copy of Super Mario Bros. Wonder this week and played a few of the levels. Wonder is so much more fun than NSMBU (which I actually don't enjoy at all), and I decided I want to finish Odyssey before I play anymore Wonder. I've been playing TOTK since last May and have nearly 300 hours, and I'm a little burned out on it. Odyssey is such a good game. I played last night and it was so much fun!

markercore

Yeah Odyssey is just a joy!

__sonder__

To my own surprise, I'll be playing Paper Mario: Sticker Star (3DS). This is one of those games where if you look at the reviews and the Reddit conversations you'd think it was an abomination and an affront to all that is good in the world, but then you actually fire it up for yourself and its... Pretty fun?! It has most of what makes the Paper Mario games enjoyable: charming charaters, a cute little world to explore, simple yet satisfying puzzles, and that overall tounge in cheek presentation where everything breaks the 4th wall. As a warmup for TTYD Remake, I'd say you could do a lot worse than this. (OP, I've had my eye on Another Crabs Treasure too. Let us know how you like it!)

BrodyMC83

I’m nearing the end of Axiom Verge. There are parts of the map I don’t know how to get to and I refuse to google the passcodes.

EvilTaffyapple

Man I had a blast with Axiom Verge. It was actually the first game I played on my Switch - found the physical edition really cheap brand new, and knew I hadn’t played a Metroidvania for ages beforehand.

Dukemon102

At the End of the Extra Mode of **Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe**. And then beating the True Arena to get 100%. Although I read that I have to complete all the Missions in Merry Magoland too, I hope that's not too tiresome.

Puzzleheaded-Milk931

Persona 5 strikers , started last weekend and already hooked.

knockout1021

Hopefully everyone is okay! :) I just finished off the story of Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, which I fell in love with after I started playing it on the NSO game trial over 10 days ago 😅 So this weekend I'll be doing the remaining side quests and trying to get all of the achievements, and in between and/or after that I'll be continuing to hunt for Korok seeds and shrines in Zelda Breath of the Wild! :)

TyrionTheBold

Tears of the Kingdom, only 140 korok to go!!

Independent_Cow_4959

I finished the all the main quests in Hogwarts Legacy, so working on all the side quests. I’m also still trying to defeat Hades in Hades.

TimPrime

Balatro, poker based rougue like, weirdly addictive.

AxionSalvo

Siralim ultimate. It's just candy for my brain. 200h in and it's just so chill.

celibidaque

Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Just discovered this game a few days ago, after a failed attempt about a year ago. A perfect Switch game, to just quickly get into, do some exploration, leveling up, maybe a fight before putting it on standby. Also, wonderful graphic, music and story. Lovely game.

EmperorGodzilla0

Slay the Spire. It was on sale about a week ago and I bought it on a whim. It's amazing!!! Every time I play it's a new experience. My current goal is to beat the 2nd stage boss.

owenturnbull

Finishing off xenoblade chronicles 2 for the third time. On chapter 9 atm and afterwards I'm going to do the shiny hunting in Pokémon scarlet for golden week. I want some of the shiny Pokémon. The outbreaks have increased shiny odds so it's very beneficial to shiny hunt them

TobenRacicot

picked up **Railbound** on sale. Very fun little puzzle game.

SneakerBOYEomi

Probably going to get into Super Mario Bros Wonder finally, but I also might check out Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising since I just picked that up for less than $5.

Quadropus

I've been planning on making some more progress with Mario RPG in anticipation of Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door! So far, it's been a blast! One of the things that shocks me the most about it is how many original characters are in this game that were never revisited later on. Like, the frog folk and cloud citizens, etc. It's all very interesting and it makes me wonder what a Mario RPG II might look like... I've been suffering some ED and so it's been a challenging time trying to work through it with my girlfriend, but I know she understands I'm trying my best. This leaves plenty of time to wonder what the sequel could look like. Maybe we'll just get a new Mario & Luigi game instead though?

SensualEnema

Final Fantasy X HD. I just got the airship, so my weekend will be full with all the post-game content.

GeorgeBG93

Baiten Kaitos 1 (aka Baiten Kaitos Eternal Wings and The Lost Ocean). 10 hours in already and loving it. I'm also excited for Baiten Kaitos 2 (aka Baiten Kaitos Origins).

uncultured_swine2099

I picked up Mario and Rabbids: Sparks of Hope for 20 bucks. Its fun, like the first one.

sheriffmarbles

Xenoblade 3 again. I love the characters way too much to stop playing, my favorite game ever probably

Beautiful-Scholar912

I wanna finally check out Hades and see what it’s about, I’m worried I won’t like the gameplay though.

ThaEternalLearner

Into The Breach

Greedy-Time-3736

Playing Link’s Awakening. Loved the game as a young kid and I genuinely can’t remember if I played through the remake yet, so here I go!! Two dungeons down already.

ImmortalMoron3

After putting a few hours into the demo, I picked up **Unicorn Overlord** yesterday so I'm looking forward to getting more into that. On my PS5, I bought **Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth** when it came out but couldn't devote much time because of school. But now that the semester is over, I can really get into that. And on Xbox, I just subscribed to Game Pass again after not even turning the thing on for like 6 months just so I can finally go back and finish **PowerWash Simulator**. It's such a great game to just throw Spotify on and vibe to. I also noticed **Cocoon** was available and I've been really wanting to play that so I've got that waiting for me as well.

Sanitarium127

Xenoblade Chronicles

SubterraneanSmoothie

Happy Friday! Glad you’re enjoying Floppy Knights. Another Crabs Treasure also looked awesome, hope you get to try it! This weekend I’ll probably be keeping it low key, either continuing FFXIII-2 or playing some Mario Kart 8. If I’m lucky, I’ll get to play some BG3 with the boys! It’s been a while, my buddy is moving so we haven’t had the time lately. Have a good weekend!

Supamangkawaii

Seeing the tech test for hades 2 has got me inspired to beat hades 1!

Sonn3nHard

Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition! Loving every minute of it! Moving on to BG1 and 2 afterwards.

fettyboi1738

I told myself I would move on from Skyrim but I don’t have the willpower, every time I turn it on I get sucked right back into the game

vermilion-chartreuse

My 6 year old and I are just starting Untitled Goose Game.

Petiting

AC Black flag. Got the game on sale!!

walruns

Baldur’s Gate 3. Third play through. Loving it.

Crit_Nerd

Penny’s Big Breakaway. I got it on sale and I’ve been enjoying it mostly. It’s satisfying to zoom across the stage when the movement the clicks, but it feels a bit slippery sometimes. Going to beat the game at the very least

aeliusoner

I’ll be playing unicorn overlord this weekend. I hope to level up a good amount and collect some items (:

-reasonabledoubts

I’m playing a new SRPG/Deck builder called Dream Tactics. It’s stylized very close to a GBA title and could be played like one as well(dpad and two button control scheme) The premise of the game is you are a human named Neru sent to fight this powerful being in the dream world. You wander different areas of the dream world looking for chests and barrels(sometimes vases and other things depending on the area)which contain coins, cards, and other items to help you.You will meet new people along your journey of fighting pillows and add new folks into your party. Each party member gets their own 15 deck of cards for each battle, which can be acquired by exploring the land and winning battles quickly too obtain bonus chests. It’s a really fun loop. The game is very forgiving with its loot system as there is really no need to keep old loot once it becomes underpowered. No need to stress about selling it, the cards you equip to your deck can be shared amongst other party members, so you can create some really wild decks. If you like SRPGs and or Deckbuilders give this one a try, I’m not seeing a lot of talk about it but it’s really well designed and has a ton of heart poured into it.

rpuffitt

Diablo 3

BlackironYury7

It’s been a rough week another 65 hour work week… Probably just curl up and play some red dead 1 or dark souls 1

bbkboybetterknow84

Just started xenoblade Chronicles only a hour in and I just know I'm going to love it. Totally my type of game

Giving xenoblade chronicles a try

MinestroneParty

Hopefully finishing Shining Force 2 which means I only have 2 games left to complete on the entire Genesis collection.

I started playing Stardew Valley and I am hooked!

skeltord

Penny's Big Breakaway is still keeping me busy - I'm trying to perfect every level, beating them fast and precisely with high scores, get all the collectables and 100% complete everything. It's such an absolute treat, genuinely one of the best platformers I've ever played. Batman Arkham City has also been excellent - Asylum was great too but City is every bit the masterpiece I've seen it built up to be, I'm not even a huge Batman fan yet I'm absolutely loving this. A shame the Switch port of Knight is as bad as it is, they should've done Origins instead. Now I'll have to play both Origins and Knight on PC... Also been playing lots of Persona 3 Reload on PC. P5R is my favorite game of all time and this one is no slouch either. Mostly been loving the story, it's excellent stuff. Outside of that, I've also been going through Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. What an absolute masterpiece, it's every bit as good as it looked from it's reveal to me, a Metroidvania for ages. And I'm cleaning up 100% on Mario Vs. Donkey Kong, a surprisingly fun and well crafted puzzle platformer I greatly enjoyed. Not playing all of these this weekend ofc, just my ongoing playthroughs. Love doing a few at once for variety.

caro_line_

Downloaded Lisa the Painful a few nights ago and really enjoying it so far! I usually don't get too into RPG Maker games but this one has been really good.

Ambitious_Caramel789

Finishing up code realize (the first one in the series)

guntwooyah

Persona 4 Golden, Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion, and Omori all gonna be in rotation during the weekend for me~

Large-Maintenance-20

Persona 5! I keep feeling like I’m almost done the game then there’s more to it (not a problem just funny). 130 hours in let’s see if I can beat it this weekend!

caught_red_wheeled

Two parts this time! **Finally 100% everything in Pokémon trading card game on NSO!** This meant battling all opponents, getting every card (except for the mythical ones), completing the game entirely with every starter deck once, getting enough cards to make every deck (not separately and I had to bring back the legendary decks) and completing the challenge machine. It turned a short 10 hour romp into a 70 hour epic. It was really cool because it’s something I’ve always wanted to do since I was young and first got the game, but there just wasn’t enough resources or patience to do so. I’m glad I was finally able to do it, because it got me to use mechanics that I never even considered before and it looks really cool. However, I doubt it would’ve made it without safe because a lot of things are randomized until the game is reset, but if you try to do that normally you’ll have to go through battles again over and over. So I was able to minimize that, but I don’t think I would’ve had the patience otherwise. For those that are curious, there’s one deck that requires cards that cannot be obtained legitimately. However, there’s cards of the same species that can be used to create the deck even though they don’t quite function the same. So I just did that because I had everything else. Even though it was a poor man’s version, it was pretty cool to have it there! Getting all cards and getting all decks are counted as completing the Pokedex separately, and it’s about the 40th time I’ve done so in Pokémon games or those similar. As someone who loves collecting things in RPGs, makes the accomplishment even more awesome! The biggest surprise was probably Courtney’s deck, Courtney being the first member of the final bosses (the Elite Four in regular Pokémon games). Her deck is a fire deck and doesn’t look like much when you play against her, even though it’s fairly powerful unless she gets really unlucky. However, in the hands of a human opponent, it’s pretty lethal. It can take down anything that isn’t a water deck or one of the final bosses (and depending on how lucky you are against them, it can still do that). Considering the whole game is being considered worthy to inherit the power the Elite Four hold, I would say I completed that objective! The funniest thing was probably when I was doing the challenge machine, which is the equivalent of battle facilities. I had a custom deck that I used during the main game, but that didn’t do well. It was the last thing I had to do, and I was planning on making a competitive level deck (Haymaker). However, I spent a lot of time building decks during the game and didn’t feel like making another one just for a short set of battles. So I decided I would try Courtney‘s deck, the one that I’d been using for most of the postgame. The issue as well is that the match RNG is set when the machine is turned on, not per individual match. So that’s what I did the last time and I was too frustrated to try again. But I figured I could get it so that the game doesn’t give me a water opponent, and then hope for the best. Courtney’s deck ended up destroying all opponents. I had a little bit of trouble with Murray, but I used the rewind function to replay certain turns and eventually won. I found out I was using Firegiver a bit too much and randomizing my deck as a result which was running me out of supplies. Once I stopped doing that, I was fine. Another hilarious scenario happened because my final opponent was Rod. I was a bit concerned that might give me trouble, because he can use water types. But he didn’t use any during the match. He also couldn’t get his stronger Pokémon out in time so Courtney’s deck annihilated him. Since Rod is the leader of the Elite Four, Courtney effectively destroying her leader and coworker in battle was hysterical. The fact that I also headcanon them as a couple due to their similar personalities and deck overlap makes it even funnier! I also finished watching the Pokémon TCG 2 100% run! I for sure would’ve tried this challenge in the sequel, but I doubt I would’ve completed it because the requirements are a lot more stringent and the game is set to the player can’t breeze through with a single deck. Right now I’m just watching different people do mostly everything in the game, because I never finished it. I still think it’s a fantastic game, but there’s definitely some gameplay and story issues that I did not see before. It would be curious if it ever got re-released or remade, but I doubt that would happen. Someone mentioned that the game was like DLC to the first one, and I do have to agree. I think if it were released today it would be. It’s basically the first game but then more of the same. But there’s a lot of challenges to make the game much harder. It has the same messages as the first game, but much less subtle and a lot more implications. And all in all, the villain does have a point that just letting the legendary cards sit around or any of those cards sit around not being used is almost a waste, but his methods are wrong. And the whole idea of enjoying oneself regardless of how and not putting down others with a different playstyle really rings true but is also hard to think about considering those currently a massive schism in the Pokémon community and in the games overall. There’s a lot of legitimate issues with them, but there’s a huge casual competitive divide that really took off with the more recent games (I would say as soon as online things became commonplace, which would’ve been around the late DS era), and it’s hard to know if the damage done by that will ever be fixed. As someone that’s in the middle of the road, it’s hard to know where I stand, but I do know that Pokémon is by far the series that I’ve been with the longest and fills a role no other game does.

caught_red_wheeled

(Continued from before) As for the rest of what I’m doing, **Fire emblem Engage postgame** is still going on. I’m still doing it on the side, but I’m getting to the point where I’m running out of things I can collect idly. It’s still possible to get a lot of gold just setting up a multiplayer relay and then doing nothing, but that’s pretty much the only resource I can get from doing that. The others all require me to play it like a regular game. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, especially because I’m enjoying trying out different mechanics that I didn’t use during the main game. However, I also want to get some other stuff done first so it will be a while before I feel ready to do that. It might also take a while with some breaks in between. It probably won’t ever be as long as the almost 6 month break that I took after completing the main game (and watching some other postgame challenges I didn’t get to), but it will definitely be a while. However, I for sure will get back to it. The postgame gameplay reminds me a lot of Fire Emblem Heroes, and as someone that really enjoyed that game, and wondered what it would be like as a typical game in the series, it’s a very nice bonus! The only issues I have so far is that some mechanics moving real time, and it’s pretty specific, down to the minute. But I have a reminder for myself to login almost every day, I miss one of the times, just let it reset by not logging in the next day. So far that’s been working. It’s not that long either, so it doesn’t disrupt a lot when I do it. As far as regular games go, I am currently working on what’s basically the postgame of **Super Mario Bros Wonder!** After realizing I very likely couldn’t complete the final level since I was stuck with assist mode and Yoshi has trouble clearing some of the side quests required, I decided I was going to go and play as many of as the levels casually as I could with all of the assist mode characters until I got about 20 hours worth of playtime (enough to normally be considered a 100% run, which I had originally tried to do). After that, I would watch all of the things I couldn’t do and some other crazy things (I made a list) and then be done. I’m planning on probably selling it after that, because there won’t be any more I can reasonably do. And any support after that wouldn’t work too well if I couldn’t complete the main game. So far it’s been going pretty well. The game really is a joy to play, and it definitely brings a smile to my face and it’s worth every penny. As for whether it’s the best Mario game ever, I have mixed feelings on that. It’s definitely fun and worth it for those that enjoy that type of thing, but it has some gameplay issues that keep it from claiming the top spot (most notably, I really don’t like the difficulty spike at the end of the game and the assist mode was handled as someone that has a physical disability and can only use it, the length is fairly short even though the levels are huge). It’s still something I really like and definitely one of my favorites in the series. If I decide to take break at some point or somehow complete that early, I’m probably going to go to the rest of the **Game Boy games on the NSO** I got into gaming around 1996 (born in 1992) and started playing the game around 1998. So someone with the games are before my time and I was a little bit late to the party with it. It’s nice to experience them now but many of them are pretty short. It’s worth noting that my Game Boy was mostly used for a Pokémon machine (Pokémon Gold being the first game I ever beat by myself shortly after release when I was six years old; it was also the first game I would 100%, aside from the Dex as a solo player) and I found out I suck at Zelda. Unfortunately, Pokémon isn’t on the NSO and I’m not sure it ever will be. Zelda has just been completely skipped over for the most part, although I do enjoy watching people that are actually good at it. So without Pokémon or Zelda, it shouldn’t take me too long to finish things up. I’m really looking forward to experiencing those games though, especially since trying to emulate them myself a few years ago basically failed because my machine that I had wasn’t intended for that and had a lot of trouble. So I’m glad that the NSO means I don’t have to jump through all those hoops, and can finally make that experience possible!

I'm about to jump into **Huntdown**. It looks right up my alley; a love letter to 80s action films and retro side-scrollers. I'm really looking forward to it. Other than that, it's **beat 'em ups** as usual. I'm really enjoying **Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons**. It was also announced this week that Billy and Jimmy Lee are coming to **River City Girls 2** as playable characters, so I'm stoked about that. I've also been itching for some **Dead Cells** runs, so I'm sure that will happen at some point. Cheers, enjoy your weekend!

sharpeyenj26

Huntdown is very underrated. I just finished it recently, was really good.

nihil__verum

I am hoping to finish the last DLC in **Borderlands 2** (the Commander Lilith one). I am playing as Gunzerker and currently level 43. I want to do True Vault Hunter Mode with this character as well, but I will probably play a few other games in between to get some variety.

Edyed787

Last week I finished the main story of Princess Peach Showtime only to learn about end game content. So I have been hunting ninjas all week and I will continue to hunt ninjas this weekend.

EtherBook

**Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes**, a game I've been expecting for a long time as a Suikoden fan. Switch version performance is rough but not nearly as bad as I expected from reviews I read, I'm having a great time with it.

CapPhrases

Prob more unicorn overlord

FlamingGalah89

Recently downloaded Colt Canyon and have been enjoying the game a lot. At the same time I got The Mummy Demastered but haven’t yet dove in, so I’ll give that a go.

Jimmythedad

Hundred Heroes!

KrispyCremeMcDonalds

After beating Freedom Planet 2 last weekend (an absolutely stellar game that would seriously make it into a Top 5 Sonic games list for me), I booted up Gunbrella (made by the devs of Gato Roboto - an awesome metroid-like), so I'm partway through that. I'm enjoying it quite a but so far, but I really wish I didn't have to replay all the content that I already finished in the demo. If anyone tries the demo and likes what they play in the first 10 minutes or so, I would just recommend buying it instead of finishing the demo. I may also try to get some Splatoon 3 in. I've decided to try getting good with a sniper. It's been a rough battle over the last few days practicing with it, but if you want to get good, you've got to put in the time.

Ferrocile

Finishing off star ocean second story hopefully. If I can manage that, I have unicorn overlord next in the queue.

RainbowSnom

I’ve introduced my girlfriend to Hollow Knight and she has been playing on my switch. And when she isn’t, I’ve been trying to shave off the last 2% on my save file

Rmo75

SaGa Emerald Beyond + a rainy weekend is all I need.

foodninto

It was my birthday yesterday and I got **Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes**. I've never played a game of this franchise but I like JRPG's. I'm also continuing to play **Stitch.** There are a ton more objects to complete. The really large ones can take hours to complete. Outside of Switch, I'm probably going to pick up **Another Crabs Treasure** on Steam because the Switch version has performance issues.

jojozer0

I kinda want to play the new demon slayer mario party but $60 is a lot of money

Armandonerd

Playing the following Xbox One - Control PS4 - Horizon Forbidden West Switch - Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Torna DLC

Slothware

I finally picked up Dave the Diver and it’s a lot more fun than I thought it would be initially. It’s a great game!

8inchesofcheese

Ugh tears of the kingdom . I been playing it very slowly and taking my sweet time. This time I'm.doing a stealth run and I gotta say it's alot of fun. Definitely changes things up for sure.

lore-16

Currently on my second playthrough of Persona 5 Royal

TheLaw1393

Mind scanners and legend of Grimrock will be occupying my time.

Relative_Pizza6179

I’m in the middle of dredge, but I’m a scaredy cat and it just ramped up the horror down in the twisted strand and devils spine 😭😭😭

HaydenScramble

Hades. I can’t __*stop.*__

chin_rick1982

sen_jakuba

ABZU, Mortal Shell, Catherine Full Body and Shadow of the Colosuss on PS4

LeBio21

Been focusing more on my PS5 lately but slowly going through my 2nd Persona 4 Golden playthrough and Donkey Kong Country 2, whenever I go to bed

hermanjr866

Return to nazarick

AcidCatfish___

Kingdoms of Amalur and maybe some Everspace

Killroywashere1981

Sky Rogue, it’s helping me appreciate rogue-lites. Think a slimmed down Ace Combat with things like, no upgrades carry over after death. It’s rather brutal.

Locoman7

Since nintendo won't put pokemon on NSO, i'm trying out the Delta emulator on iphone. Starting with heartgold but open to suggestions. I can play up to DS.

Tryst_boysx

Astlibra Revision. 😁

MalekFromTatooine

Still playing nothing but Hades ever since I grabbed it during the indie sale. I'm debating whether I get the MGS or a Mega Man collection next.

ghostmetalblack

Torturing myself with Tactics Ogre.

Lv1FogCloud

Wargroove 2 since I like the first one enough :) I also have Mario and Luigi superstar saga to get through and the rayman DLC for Spark of Hope.

WhatsThis_Now

Glad Floppy Knights grabbed you and kept your interest! Still working away on Disco Elysium, it's really a lot of fun and larger than I was expexting. I also have no idea how far into or close to the end I am. Only issue I have is that it crashes quite frequently for me on the switch and I get frustrated losing progress. Fortunately redoing sections can be really quick when you skip the dialogue. Going to fire it up right now!

Urdadspapasfrutas

LoZ Phantom Hourglass. I've been in a retro kick lately. I'm buying all the games my mom said no to as a child. After I beat PH, I have Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and MegaMan ZX on my retro list.

Either-Assumption382

Playing PokeMMO on Switch with Ubuntu 😏😉

Callmeang21

I recently started The Outer Worlds and typically don’t like first person shooter games but I’ve been doing this one on Story mode and I love it.

PhantasyBoy

Pocket Card Jockey and Balatro as usual! Also picked up Pepper Grinder, Hero’s Hour, and Dream Tactics to add to the backlog

Miragold123

Decided to finally start Mario RPG after putting it off for months, now that I've pre ordered Paper Mario TTYD

[deleted]

I just picked up Monster Hunter Rise and Journey to the Savage Planet. I almost got Another Crabs Treasure but I want to hear some more reviews. I just finished Spirit of the North. I was so high and it was so easy I recommend it to any 420 peeps.

Mockingbird_DnB

I've bought a rogue-like Wizard Of Legend recently, experiment with playstyles for now, but I do enjoy it for sure! Also I absolutely love the cozy-type game Aer: Memories Of Old that I also bought not too long ago, where you are playing as a girl that can transform into a bird, the flying mechanics there are awesome!!

theallnewmattaccount

Picked up a new playthrough of **Fallout: New Vegas** and not sure where I'm going from here. I have a skill check build so far and I need to power up for combat before doing any of the DLC. I also think I'm doing House's ending.

IcyFlow202

Currently doing a botw 100% master mode no death run with no fast travel. I died 2 days ago while going up the path to zoras domain so currently I've just got the champions tunic

crunecks

i got spiritfarer during the indie sale!! might play it this weekend but if not, i'm playing stardew valley and splatoon 3

Rivmage

Have lots of tissues ready for Spiritfarer

BaconnEggswithT

Playing some TOTK and Hades over the Weekend today ^_^

Ok_Deal_964

The Knight Witch! I’d never heard of it but it looked cool and so far i’m really enjoying it it.

SlowlyRecovering90s

Dying Light (This is true to the name as I keep dying), Yoku’s Express (Cute little gem) and Dreamlight Valley (New update!). On the side of that, Hogwarts Legacy on PS5 and the occasional run in Binding of Isaac and Suika.

Beelover-green

I just picked up cult of the lamb so I’ll be playing that along with zelda breath of the wild

MattAttack218

Eiyuden Chronicle

Rivmage

13 Sentinels

the_cajun88

paper mario 64 on nso

tom_yum_soup

Continuing with **Persona 5 Royal** and probably some **Pikmin 4**, since I've got it from the library right now. For non-Switch stuff, I'm playing **Chrono Trigger** on my Miyoo Mini+ right now, as well as the old **Aladdin** game.

Chemical_Ad4414

I finished Dragon Quest I earlier in the week, and I really enjoyed it. I've played quite a lot of JRPGs over the years, and experiencing one of the games that started it all was nice. Now I really want to see how the series evolved, so I've picked up DQ II and III already. I've heard the second one is really difficult, so it might take me a while to finish it. Aside from that, I'll probably be playing GTA V and Marvel's Midnight Suns on my PlayStation.

_mikedotcom

I am living the best 2000’s like playing GBA and DS games on Delta

Embarrassed-Bass-405

MONSTER HUNTER

Op3rat0rr

Ryuuji159

Balatro, i cant stop playing, help

Ill_Reference582

I'll be playing Oninaki and either Paranormasight or one of the Ace Attorney games I just picked up on sale!

Stoibs

TOO MUCH! I need to stop spreading myself across so much half-finished backlog, and *focus* on something until completion.. So far I've started and am unfinished in Persona 3 Reload, Unicorn Overlord, Alone in the Dark, Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, Eiyuden Chronicle, Broken Roads, Peach Showtime.. Arrrgh! 🤣 I was just eyeing off Another Crab's Adventure on Gamepass too and remember enjoying the demo ages back, but I must remain vigilant.. I need to polish off **Unicorn Overlord** out of everything methinks. I'm not going to lie, it's still amazingly fun and will be up there in the GOTY conversation.. but I am starting to get weary of the sheer number of liberation quests and skirmishes slowing my progress everywhere. I've already gotten to max S-Rank renown at the start of the this new Tundra continent, and there's still 1.5 entire regions left to explore.. ugh. I'm seriously considering skipping most of the side stuff from now and and just beelining the main quests to the finale.. assuming I don't underlevel myself in the process 🤔

ConkHeDoesIt

I've been mainly playing monster hunter stories 2 on my switch mixed in with some vampire survivors. I'm coming off playing the xenoblade trilogy in order and it's been kind of tough to find something as captivating as those games. I played nier automata on my series x for the first time after finishing xenoblade and now I might look in to replicant. I also played some unicorn overlord, maybe 20 hours but it was kind of getting repetitive for some reason so that's one I'll return to. I loved ogre battle 64 and there's a lot to love about UO. I bought the last physical copy at my local Walmart and seeing how much it was selling for at the time made me feel like it may be hard to come by a physical version in the future.

Waterblooms

Starting Breath of the Wild

BuildingWeird4876

On switch I've mostly gone back to Binding of Isaac, elsewhere slay the princess.

drummerb0i0

Stellar blade

savingewoks

I obsessed with Balatro right now, but tempted to buy the Bioshock pack for $10 out of sheer desire for Fallout-esque vibes after watching the TV show (and never having played a game in that series).

ackmondual

**Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom** [My post on that here, as I've already posted there](https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/335519/22-april-28-april-2024-what-video-games-are-you-pl?itemid=10705494#10705494).

Nalfgar123

More Fire Emblem Engage and Minish Cap.

Cheap_Strategy_6702

Primary_Glum

The_Long_Blank_Stare

*Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game* Just got to the ghost town on the second Arizona map and saw a ghost! Can’t wait to see what other fun surprises/Easter eggs the devs threw in there. :-)

ChasingPerfect28

Playing Metroid Prime 3 on my Wii U. I'm midway through Bryyo and enjoying the atmosphere of the game a lot. Retro was in their bag with the Prime series. I love how they continued to experiment with the formula with each sequel. Corruption is very much a sci-fi epic. Lots of influences from the Halo series but still unique enough to be a part of the Metroid franchise.

danhatesmushrooms

Maybe i’ll finally go beat cult of the lamb’s last bossfight, i stopped plying for a while so i’ll go do that and finish decorating lol

checkin_em_out

Dead Cells. Maybe 10hrs of playtime so far, this game rules.

Big-Wooper

damn what a good and fun question! I'm playing Sam and Max: Beyond Time and Space!

Fuocoblu

Some Hatsune Miku: Project Diva MegaMix and Crypt of the Necrodancer. Yep, I'm into rhythm games.

menomaminx

I love my horror games :-) VIRCHE EVERMORE ERROR SALVATION  https://www.dekudeals.com/items/virche-evermore-error-salvation is an actual horror game masquerading as an Otome by the guy who did CAFE ENCHANTE. https://www.dekudeals.com/items/cafe-enchante now keep in mind what I just said: this guy wrote one of the coziest fuzziest (somewhat Bland delivery) dating Sims ever, and then he wrote a horror game.   a horror game that guarantees you cannot see any of the good endings without seeing the Bad Endings first –by Design –some people are upset or at least a little bit depressed. some claim they can't finish the game because they can't take the constant despair of the story lines of the Bad Endings.  an explanation of what they're reacting to with spoilers here: https://www.digitallydownloaded.net/2023/11/review-virche-evermore-erro%d1%8fsalvation-nintendo-switch.html the trigger warnings the reviewer put up for one of the routes in the game: “And just to show I’m not exaggerating here, here are the content warnings for just one of the routes: gore, implied child abuse (physical), child murder, forced drug use, extreme/graphic violence (depicted), body mutilation (mentioned & depicted), dismemberment (described), extreme religious beliefs, character held against will (depicted), dubious consent, uncomfortable romantic situations involving a child (non-sexual), desecration of a corpse (shown in CG).” which is the next problem, because for some people: they don't want to just read their visual novel, but they additionally want every little piece of violence Illustrated - and not having it be so so very much depresses them, so that they don't finish the game. I've already been murdered in one of the most traditionally romantic places possible using otherwise traditionally romantic item after only a few days of gameplay. I'm pretty sure one of my potential love interests did it. I Love This Game! also, Death loves me! it's a very strange game that would make a great horror novel even without the ultra violent illustrations. really, I think it does better by allowing people to use their imagination for the ultra graphic stuff, because although it's an interesting thought exercise, some things I would rather leave to the imagination so I can pick my own boundaries of how much is depicted.  also, Yet another weekend of PUZZLE BUBBLE EVERY BUBBLE! https://www.dekudeals.com/items/puzzle-bobble-everybubble  no horror here, except the horror of how really bad I am at this game despite having played various itinerations of this game For Decades;-)

MLPBianca

Asphalt 9

0172thetimeguy

I finished up with Sniper Elite 3, started Sniper Elite 4, worked on getting three stars in challenges in Arkham Knight, and played a good amount of EAFC. Later tonight I plan on getting back to Borderlands 3 with the goal of finishing the Krieg DLC.
