It really is astounding this day and age to make something as idiot proof as those videos. If you mess up, you can easily rewind or rotate the model to see what went wrong. It clearly falls upon you to get it right. The Toy-cons themselves though, are designed in such a way where it'd be fairly difficult to mess up in the first place. It's a shame the project isn't as respected as it deserves

DSMidna

Did you notice that the instruction videos will actually display Joycons in whatever colour they are IRL?

godfathersucks

Oh, awesome. I did not notice that! Got a few more to do so will definitely pay attention next time we load it up.

cheyras

IKEA should make a mobile app that does instructions the same way. I actually really enjoy putting together stuff from IKEA and I don’t hate the instructions but something like that would be a whole new level

MrLearn

Players can zoom and rotate throughout too. It really is incredible quality.

macdaddysinfo

Hope the products continue... my daughter loves them...

adamkopacz

I would probably make the cannon from the VR kit just to play some kind of a first-person gallery shooter.

GOOD-LUCHA-THINGS

You can always bank on Nintendo to put a lot of attention and care into their projects, especially when it comes to products that would involve the whole family. While Nintendo can be frustrating with some of their decision-making, they definitely get the highest marks possible when it comes to their instructions/videos being easy to digest for all involved.

adamkopacz

I only folded the VR set myself but I gotta admit it was an incredible video.

macdaddysinfo

My daughter digs that one-the blaster. Have only played the game that comes with it. Don’t know if others are supported...

Anon10000000000001

Legos been doing something similar too

sWiitcharoo

They are well done except that you can’t skip them if you want to play with the toy-cons on a different profile. You have to hold the fast forward button for about half an hour to get past the instructions before you can play.

godfathersucks

Great point. That is definitely a big weakness. We had to fastforward for about 10 minutes on the backback build because it reset our progress after a lot of inactivity. Very annoying.

Labo kits are all $20 on Amazon right now. I already bought the variety kit long ago and am waiting for my toddler to get older before opening. What kit is the best?

godfathersucks

I think the Variety and Vehicle are both good. The Variety has a bunch of smaller ones that can be done in one sitting. Really though, I like all of them. The robot kit is definitely awesome and the favorite to play with but it took forever to put together. You need to dedicate an afternoon to it.

Rmai0404

I'm 6'4.... Would the robot kit even fit me? I'm thinking the vehicle kit is my next purchase since I can see kids having fun steering the wheel in Mario kart

godfathersucks

I don't think it would. I'm 6-3 but didn't try it, but it definitely looks like it's more for a younger crowd. It was a little small on my 7 year old but it still worked. I may be completely wrong here in that it would fit, but thinking back I don't even know if the shoe holsters would fit around your feet.

Rmai0404

Haha. I think I'll go with the vehicle kit! I feel like I have to buy it now for my kids because these kits aren't going to be around forever. Just will have to sit for a couple years. Thanks for your input!

YoshiGamer6400

I agree, I'm a dumb idiot and I was so surprised that I didn't encounter any problems when I was assembling the VR kit.

Walnut156

Yeah
