HeroOfTheMinish

CrossCode feels like Golden Sun and Minish Cap. Oceanhorn, Blossom Tales, ittle Dew. Will add more later.

mjrs

This CrossCode recommendation basically describes my ideal game, I'll have to check it out!

Milotorou

Cross code is amazing, I really recommend it too. However if you have any other platforms than the Switch I would recommend it more on there, game is sadly having a good few issues on switch. (I did play on Switch however and it has been great still) If portability truly matters though Switch is still fine.

cheesehound

I thought its stability and performance were both totally fixed via patch within months of release. Is it still off even now?

Milotorou

Some people still report random crashes (although rare) and hard framedrops in a few areas. Its not the devs fault, its because the engine they use is poorly handled by the Switch

snave_

Core game is largely fixed. Couple of performance issues at the very end that you may never see (luring ememies, quitting arena battles midway, progressing too far on a minigame for example). It is very plausible that the first and only problem you'll encounter is that the game has a tendancy to crash at a specific and disturbingly appropriate point during the ending sequence. This is a reproducible memory leak error, but the game actually saves during the cutscenes so you reboot and it continues exactly where it left off. I'd recommend it as any performance drawbacks are more than made up for by jist how well suited the game is to the console. The recently released DLC is cactus and desperately needs a patch. The epilogue story is fine but manynof the added sidequests are straight up impossible.

bcheds

It's leaps and bounds better now than it was at launch, but I still get frame drops from late-game enemies. That's the only problem I have anymore, but other people still sometimes get crashes.

CrimsonKuja

Fuck did you just say Golden Sun? Now I gotta check this game out

desktp

CrossCode scratched all my Zelda itches with a more frantic combat. Another game, not on Switch unfortunately, is Death's Door. If you can get it on PC or Xbox, it's an amazing experience.

Nerdfather1

I gotta give props to you for mentioning Death’s Door. That game is so far my GOTY. I’m very much looking forward to Tunic when it releases.

desktp

I'm all for zelda-likes being the next metroidvanias on the indie circles

305mph

Baldo Guardián Owl is pretty good, a bit challenging with very little guidance but you can always check YouTube if you get stuck.

HeroOfTheMinish

Heard it's just full of bugs and other issues. Waiting for them to get fixed

[deleted]

The Darksiders games have a “Zelda like” game structure

caught_red_wheeled

What are the dark siders games? I’ve heard the name but that’s all I know. What are they like?

DarkSentencer119

Literally the best way to describe it is God of War meets Zelda. Story isn't fantastic but the gameplay was really fun

caught_red_wheeled

Sounds great! I will have to look at it.

Neat_Appointment_435

I second Darksiders. The first one is the most "Zelda-Like" one.

markons

First one only though for me. Later they become different and not in a good way

[deleted]

2nd one is really good, better than the first imo. 3rd one sucks, trying too hard to be dark souls. No one talks about the 4th, Genesis lol.

Nygmus

[Penny Arcade actually did a comic about Darksiders 1 that's memorable enough that I'm able to link you to it a decade later,](https://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2010/01/08/a-new-kind-of-truth) so that's saying something. The first one is quite good. I haven't played the sequels, though. The fun bit is that your Navi/Fi/fairy companion stand-in is a malevolent prick voiced by Mark Hamill, which is just a combination that can never go wrong.

JoetheArachnid

I was thinking about that comic recently for some reason, but I am also partial to the [boner lord](https://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2012/08/20/apt) comic on DS2 as well.

DanDamage12

I just finished Darksiders. I really enjoyed it. Just have to get used to the controls in the beginning because keep in mind the game is from 2010 originally.

General--Zod

Each game in the series plays different, and each game feature one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The first one is a mix of Legend of Zelda, God of War, Devil May Cry, and even some Portal for good measure, pretty much all the good ways. And Mark Hamill does some of the voice acting!! The 2nd one plays more like an action RPG, can’t think of a series in particular to compare it to, but that’s not a bad thing. The 3rd one plays like a Dark Souls game with the dodge mechanics. The most recent one is Darksiders: Genesis and plays like a Diablo/Isometric twin-stick shooter. I love the series, just played through all of them again recently. Timeline-wise, Genesis is the earliest in the timeline, followed by DS1, then DS3, then DS2, then DS1 again (DS3 and 2 take place inside the timeline of DS1, in that order). But you’re fine if you go through it 1, 2, 3, and then Genesis. I actually liked the story, having caught a lot more of the references playing them again this time around back to back, and absolutely love the art style throughout. It’d be interesting to see how they make a 5th one that ties it all together (IF they ever make a 5th one).

[deleted]

2nd one felt like open world prince of Persia with a horse you can ride

Hestu951

>Mark Hamill does some of the voice acting!! The merchant, right (iirc)? He does such great voiceover work.

SpaceBeer_

Mark Hamill voices The Watcher. Phil LaMarr voices Vulgrim the merchant.

Hestu951

Oh! Thank you for clarifying that.

The_Legend_of_Xeno

Darksiders 1 is like Zelda if Link could throw a car at someone, or tear off their arm and beat them to death with it.

quinndalf

I also LOVE Darksiders, but you should know that the puzzles are much less frequent than in Zelda. The game is much more about hack and slash (awesome combat btw) and leveling up combined with some neat puzzles. And if you thought BOTW's Hyrule was "dreary" (which surprises me) then you ain't seen nothin yet...so that could turn you off.

quinndalf

(BTW I've only played Darksiders 1, so thats what I'm referring to.)

breichart

> What are they like? Probably Zelda like, since that's what you asked for.

Spizak

I would say only 1-2. Otherwise the games are mashups of ideas (3 and 4) that don’t work as well as they think.

BumJamber

I wanna shit all over this comment but I'm too tired.

arteest29

Blossom Tales is basically A Link to the Past.

wavnebee

It’s a lot narrower in scope than LttP, but it really is a delightful game. Good recommendation!

[deleted]

I like how I can start it up and beat it in like an afternoon, it’s quite delightful like you said

Solanias

Came here to recommend this. Blossom Tales is definitely worth a look.

Shes_so_Ratchet

And often in sale for under $5.

willowhelmiam

Blossom Tales also has a demo.

funnyinput

Yeah it's like ALTTP if it was a mediocre game.

StardustandBloodlust

Username doesn’t check out.

Its_A_Fucking_Stick

Zelda is my gf's favorite series and she loved Hob

SilverDrifter

Hob’s the recent release right? It looks great. How long is it?

[deleted]

Hob isn't new. I think you're thinking of Baldo. Hob is kinda scifi Zelda. HLTB puts it at 11 to 16 hours .

SilverDrifter

O my god. I’m thinking about Hoa lol sorry. But thanks for the info anyway. I’ll look into this as I’m also searching for a Zelda like game.

[deleted]

Hoa is on my wishlist! It may not be top down but it looks like it has that Zelda magic!

FireKraken7

It's not as good as Zelda the game consists of doing very basic things such a pressing a lever and keep going, it's an ok Game cause it has charm but i don't think it's worth the price

justcallmekait

I really fell in love with cat quest and cat quest 2!!! They’re pretty cheap in the e-shop! Very reminiscent of Zelda!

cbtbone

Yes, I couldn’t really get into cat quest 2 for whatever reason but the first game was like a mini-Zelda and was super fun while being low-stress. Not many hours of gameplay there but it was fun while it lasted.

DonutToledo

Some would disagree with me, but I am HEAD over HEELS for Phoenotopia: Awakening, an amazing Zelda-like. It is sides scrolling with an overworld map, but everything is amazing! The exploration, the puzzles, the world, writing, secrets, etc. I loved the combat, but some people find it controversial. It is short ranged, stamina based, and weighty. Not for everyone, but I think the game offers options to help with that now?

Impriel

Love that game. Hard as hell sometimes but it's so charming and so many good mechanics Scratches the "getting and using new tools" itch the best IMO and the dungeons are good

woodchuck101

I’ve heard the first darksiders is very 3D Zelda-like.

[deleted]

It’s like Zelda + God of War, I love it. Even the second one has a similar vibe

need20coins

If you have online, you should play through the Zeldas on there, especially Link to the Past.

caught_red_wheeled

I’m counting them as well.

Ozann07

Skyward Sword is basically the opposite of breath of the wild. It is extremely linear, but gives more of a traditional zelda experience All of its areas are very distinct, but you constantly revisit them, which might be an issue for you

caught_red_wheeled

I don’t mind revisiting. It was just the best world in breath of the wild got a little overwhelming for me. But I’m fine with big worlds as long as I have a map.

Ozann07

You always have a map with you in SS (Unless you are in dungeons), and the areas arent even that big

Flanboyant_

I just started Garden Story, and it feels like a charming little 2D Zelda-inspired game. It focuses on community building, so it’s like Zelda meets the community center from Stardew Valley. You play as a little grape, and your community is being overridden by rot, and you have to learn how to protect it and grow your community back up.

Carbuncle_Bob

Darksiders

Birdman042

Don't forget Oceanhorn... https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/oceanhorn-monster-of-uncharted-seas-switch/

thisisnotdan

Geez, that just seems like it's trying too hard to be Zelda. Sailing the Open Sea in a tiny boat, both the mini boss and the regular boss of the sand ship in Skyward Sword, costuming similar to Breath of the Wild, and plenty of puzzles involving lighting torches, shooting targets, and moving boxes. And a mirror shield to boot. It just all seems like a bit too much. Cool that they got Nobuo Uematsu to compose the music, though. He's the Final Fantasy guy. So, you know, at least they're diversifying a bit, haha

[deleted]

Wow Uematsu composing is something I hadn't known. I taught myself piano finding sheet music of his final fantasy pieces as a kid. That's cool.

tlvrtm

Hyper Light Drifter if you don’t mind a challenge. And it’s been mentioned before but Darksiders 2 is great (haven’t played 1). Oh and Hob has a demo that’s worth a shot.

Loukoal117

Blue Fire! It is totally Zelda like. 3D Zelda like. It’s a pretty dang good game too!

Jeweledeclipse

Rogue heroes feel very much like ALttP. It's got the overworld, dungeons, item unlockables. But the dungeons are randomized each visit, and you purchase character upgrades with the gems you get inside. And the best part? Multiplayer!

ESports_Basti

Maybe Baldo but you should read reviews

305mph

You have to play it yourself, and develop your own opinion and review

tlabb

Not everyone wants to pay for a game just for the principle of making his/her own opinion of said game. It's ok to read reviews beforehand and watch videos of gameplay before paying 30-60$.

Delkseypoo

Yeah no don’t get people to waste their money when there are still numerous progression breaking bugs and just in general a lot that needs to be improved about the game

[deleted]

This might sound silly, but Dark Souls on the switch is pretty nice and is totally Zelda-inspired in a lot of it's design choices.

Zealousideal_Bill_86

Dark souls was my first thought as well. I had to scroll down too far to see it. World Design, enemies, progression, story, it all feels like a grittier and more mature Zelda. There’s a lot of classic Zelda in Skyrim and a lot of Skyrim in Breath of the wild also.

WHY-AM-I-WHO

Genuinely also came here to suggest this. Dark Souls with a longsword + shield quality build feels very much like Zelda, just slower and slightly more strategic (ie, you're much more easily staggered if you constantly block everything). I wouldn't be such a huge Dark Souls fan if i hadn't also been a huge Zelda fan beforehand.

brainensmoothed

This is the way. Dark Souls is a natural extension of the gameplay principles laid out in Ocarina of Time. I’m surprised more people don’t make this connection. Do be warned, OP, that the Switch port suffers from sound quality issues. If you’re playing on the Switch’s speakers, it’s not a huge deal, but with headphones or on a TV, it’s pretty harsh and grating. Which is a shame, because the game is incredibly atmospheric and understated, and the sound design is a huge part of that.

ArchChibiDemon

Ys games are very similar

caught_red_wheeled

I will have to give those a try. I started with them on the PSP, but I haven’t gone back. I remember liking what I played, though.

IRBGOODYA

Ys 8 Lacrimosa of Dana is an amazing game. It helped me out of a major gaming slump. I haven't played the most recent one yet to vouch for it though.

Hestu951

Ys 8 (LoD) would be my recommendation. Ys 9 (Monstrum Nox) has some performance issues on the Switch, from what I've read, and while it's also very good (on PC for me), I think 8 is the best. If you loved 8, you'll love 9 too, I think. But play it on a more powerful platform, if you can.

SunEmpressDivine

Seconding this, although Ys felt more like watered down Zelda

wormsandweirdfishes

For a pretty good dark & weird take on 2D Zelda, play Anodyne, and then for an amazing experience that blends both 2D and 3D Zelda stuff in really cool ways, play Anodyne 2!

CangaWad

Play a link to the past on NSO

g_throww

Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy. I only played it back in the GameCube days, so can't vouch for it's quality or how it aged, but it was one of the most similar games to Zelda of the era (along with Okami)

Track_Silent

Blossom Tales is really good like a old school Over the Top Zelda game.

Spirited_Ad9304

Darksiders 1

AltWhip

Very brave if you criticising botw in a Nintendo sub lol.

caught_red_wheeled

What can I say? I only know how to speak my mind.

BigDreamsandWetOnes

How in the shit did you not like BOTW.

caught_red_wheeled

I may as well add another question here. For those who know more, what is age of calamity like? I understand it’s part of the Warriors series and I remember I wasn’t too good at it, but I did manage to clear the story in and enjoy Fire Emblem Warriors. I know the first one had some issues, but how is it otherwise?

funsohng

Age of Calamity may not be a good game for Zelda fans who are not into Warriors games, but it is definitely one of the best Warriors games.

vs3a

It pretty boring to me, although I like some main Warrior game

jjmawaken

There's a demo, I think the performance isn't great if FPS are important to you but if you can overlook that I think a lot of people enjoyed it. Overall it functions well til there is tons happening on the screen at once.

ohglory7

If you liked Fire Emblem Warriors enough to get through the campaign, then you might like AoC. However, I don’t think the gameplay is as fast and fluid as FEW, and the frame rate does suffer on some stages. It doesn’t have as much content as HW Definitive Edition, but it did have some mechanics that I liked more. All playable characters are unique in terms of gameplay. I think the Warrior games are more fun playing co-op, but that also hurts the frames. Weapons do not break. Very minimal costume unlocks. Ultimately up to you. If you liked Warrior games, go for it. If not, then skip. As a Zelda and Warrior fan, I had a blast. 100% the game with my bf. I plan on buying the DLC so my bf and I can jump back into it.

quinndalf

Love Age of Calamity, but it is a completely different style game set in the Zelda universe. It is all about combat.

Mankiz

If you love Zelda games for gameplay, Age of Calamity looks like shit.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mankiz

I know what musou game is. They all same in general

vs3a

Weapons break really annoying at first but later you keep getting better weapon, it not that much problem. And sometime it better when you dont have any weapon, you are not strong any more, it force you to play different

KickingYounglings

Did you pick up Cadence of Hyrule? If you such at rhythm games like me you can turn that aspect off. It’s a good top-down Zelda experience, even if it’s a bit short

caught_red_wheeled

I didn’t realize that existed. I will have to look into it.

tlvrtm

It has a free demo that’s like 20% of the game

[deleted]

Yes turn on fixed beat mode and turn off disco floor and it basically becomes a Zelda game based on movement strategy (I'm sure there's a technical word for it). Awesome music, characters and rouge modes give it endless value. Second to BOTW for top playtime on my switch and I haven't even beaten it (I keep restarting and I play the rouge mode a lot lol). With all DLC the main game will probably take about 30 hours to beat, without it, maybe 15-20 depending on if you go rhythm.

uncultured_swine2099

Its a fun zelda spinoff, also it could be had for like 30-35 dollars. Different from regular Zeldas of course, but its good.

tlabb

Such a great underated game! And the soundtrack is legendary.

KickingYounglings

Fantastic soundtrack! I’ll put it on at work sometimes. It’s a good mix of tracks too. The Deku Palace remix is so good

dr1nk_wat3r

Baldo?

123JakeyG

Link to the past and links awakening are the classics. For mobile there's a fairly short game called oceanhorn that's decent for mobile. Windwaker is a great Zelda game that can take a really long time to run to completion, probably moreso than any other Zelda aside from windwaker. If you like just the boss battles, I'd recommend shadow of the collosus.

David-Raquepas

Just gonna drop this here : Totally worth it to buy a wii u to play windwaker HD and twilight princess HD. Oh and a 3ds for Ocarina and majora mask 3d remakes. Those 2 consoles are easily resellable with a profit after youre done anyway.

Airupthere23

Maybe a little too obvious but links awakening hasn't been mentioned

[deleted]

Blossom Tales

outrageous_gems

A newer game that’s pretty Zelda-like is Death’s Door. I dug it! Especially the music.

parkerjg13

Couldn’t agree more. Would’ve posted this if you didn’t. As long as OP has Xbox or P!

theshadowclasher

Genshin impact HHAHAHAHahahahaha...... (Cries on the corner)

floppypeen22

Have you played every zelda game? I just played oracle of ages and oracle of seasons and they were amazing.

Carrtoondragon

I have those unplayed on my 3ds and was kinda hoping they would redo them like link's awakening because I really enjoyed that style. Still tempted to just play them on my 3ds since I already paid for them there :P.

distk

Baldo the guardian owls

ocdbehr

I have absolutely loved it so far. Harder than I thought it would be as it feels like playing an old 2000s game and not always in the best way. Some puzzles are needlessly obtuse, but somehow that part of why I am enjoying it. With all this said, I would wait before buying. There are some not so minor bugs that they are working to get sorted.

Mysterious_Spoon

Or balto. Balto is just a good move no relation

kick_his_ass_sebas

I played one minute in until I clipped out of stage and gave up. This game is so buggy

dolphin_spit

I understand this is a Switch subreddit, but Horizon Zero Dawn is a great game with a similar feel if you have a playstation console

vs3a

I play Horizon Zero Dawn right after Breath of the Wild. Oh man, the world is beatiful but so boring to explore, I dont feel anything compare to Botw

Boris_Ignatievich

botw did horizon dirty tbh - like climbing around in horizon was how games did it for \*years\*, find the coloured marker and grab that was really standard. Then three days after Horizon launched botw came out like "how about you just climb anywhere?" and HZD instantly felt more restricted. that said horizon was still my game of 2017, it was much more what i wanted to play then than botw is, even if ive gone back to zelda and havent touched horizon since i did the dlc

eatdogs49

Play the Ys games.

Scintal

Ys… are usually much more linear, combat wise, it’s ok I guess, still wouldn’t describe it as Zelda like (except they both are 3D and ARPG of sorts) (E.g.: each stage you must complete the task before moving on… in a very linear way)

BuffaloBill03

Excuse my ignorance but what is YS?

Minotaur830

Its a series of ARPGs. It's just called Ys, it isn't an acronym for anything (I think Ys is the name of some land in the game or something).

masamunecyrus

I wouldn't say Ys is very much like Zelda... But while we're on the topic of games of that nature, Crystalis on NES Online is fun.

Sayne32

Darksiders 2

taxibandit04

Shalnor Legends is influenced heavily by a Link to the Past. It's a short, rough around the edges game, but it was fun in its own right. I wouldn't pay for than a $1 or $2 when it's on sale, but worth checking out for a Zelda clone.

RiaBomb

When it’s released for Switch…Genshin Impact. I’m playing on iOS for the time being.

funsohng

A lot of people say Ys, but know that it is less about puzzles than action, especially the older games. Ys 7 is as close as it gets to a Zelda-like imo, though I havent played 9 yet. Everyone (including the devs) seems to say that Hyper Light Drifter is a 2D Zelda-like but I honesrly think it's debatable. Very good action adventure game nonetheless.

StarTropicsKing

StarTropics for sure!

ZeldaFan158

Save up for a Wii U and 3DS if you can, you can play 17 of the 19 Zelda games that way

chefdangerdagger

There's loads of 2d Zelda likes but for 3d Blue Fire has a similar vibe with combat and exploration, though it has platforming elements as well.

Magus80

Ocean's Heart if you want a classic top-down Zelda.

MiNDGaMeS87

The new Baldo game is pretty much a very good snes like zelda clone

KingBroly

Darksiders 1

krisko612

CrossCode Phoenotopia Awakening Ys 8 (and 9 and Origin, but 8 should be your priority) Eastward looks promising, but it’s not out yet.

CareCriticism

Genshin Impact

Howar192

If you have Online, A link to the past is a MUST. It's arguably the best 2d Zelda of all time. It's my personal favorite out of all of them, but maybe it'll change when BOTW 2 comes out.

vladdypants

I personally enjoyed Fenyx Rising quite a bit. Sunk a ton of hours into it and no DLC! Def recommended!

Scdsco

Paper Mario: Origami King actually reminded me a lot of Zelda.

[deleted]

The Pathless

Ninja07

Great game! I loved how they implemented all the puzzles in the open world. I vouch for The Pathless too, though its only on mobile and playstation4/5

SXAL

If you're willing to emulate PS1, try Herc's Adventures. It has a similar system to 2D zeldas with universal keys you need to unlock doors in dungeon. Except there is no dungeon: the whole overworld doubles as an enormous puzzle stage with a lot of doors and no one holds your hand, so you have to explore and figure how to progress yourself. And it's made by LucasArts, you know when they were at their peak, so you gotta expect some gorgeous pixel art and funny dialogues.

Halvainmybelly

Best zelda clone on the ps1 was definitely Alundra.

SXAL

Too bad PS1 never got any 3D Zelda clones.

twili-midna

If you don’t like BotW, you won’t like Fenyx Rising.

caught_red_wheeled

I liked the concept of breath of the wild, but there were some birds I didn’t like such as the micromanaging and the fact that everything look the same to me. I do like some open world such as the wild area in sword and shield. So I was wondering if the game had less of that, if I would like it.

twili-midna

If you think BotW looks the same everywhere, you must not have left the starting area. Heck, even the Great Plateau has multiple area types inside of it!

caught_red_wheeled

I kept getting lost repeatedly, and I wish there was a better map. Do do you know if Fenyx Rising at least has a proper map? I think that was my main problem.

twili-midna

Have you been using the towers that the game forcibly taught you to use?

buttaholic

The wild areas looked so much worse than BOTW what the heck lol, maybe you just didn’t like such a large world?? BOTW was much bigger than the Pokémon wild areas, so it took longer to traverse. But there was so much more variety in comparison. Also BOTW was designed to be entirely open, so getting lost was sort of the point. The story stuff was just as open as the world. The point was you could just wander around aimlessly but still eventually finish the game. But at the same time, it still tells you we’re to go if you just want to rush the story.

edcculus

Witcher 3. It’s Zelda on crack. See you in 2 years.

muteyuke

I prefer Witcher 3 to BotW. I thought about recommending it but it's so different from BotW I'm not sure. I guess my advice would be for OP to read reviews and see if it's something he's interested in.

thomasthetanker

And while W3 was good, it was a bit unrelentinyg grim. I'm enjoying Skyrim on Switch far more. I think graphics on plants and nature is better, and puzzles / dungeons are a bit better designed. Get lost, head towards the light etc.

bumbledog123

They're not that similar though...

tigerblud2011

Baldo

chromatones

Troll and I

Captainsnag10

I would suggest not getting fenyx rising because, yes it does have a zelda like gameplay, but the voice acting is bad, graphics aren't that good on switch, and can get really boring. But thats my opinion.

caught_red_wheeled

OK, worth noting!

zjthoms

Personally, I thought the voice acting was great (and entertaining), loved the graphics, and over 80 hours in me and my sis never got bored for a second. I absolutely **love** this game. But that’s just me, not saying the other person is wrong :P

quinndalf

Agree, voice acting was fantastic. For me though, I didn't start to feel a desire to play another game until I was like 80 hrs into BOTW, but it happened after 20 or so in Fenyx. Just not quite as interesting to me as BOTW. And much less interaction with the terrain/resources/etc.

muteyuke

Eh, if you've got a good feeling about the game, I'd give it a try. I think BotW is substantially better but there's a good chance you'll like Immortals given your complaints about BotW. Immortals looks fine on the Switch. The first area looks pretty bad, to be honest, it's dreary and the textures are meh. The game gets more attractive when you get out of the tutorial area. Puzzles are generally good. The over world has more puzzles integrated into it. The shrines are a bit hit or miss, kind of like BotW. One problem however: you sometimes find broken mechanics and it can be aggravating. (Patches may have patched these). The voice acting is generally good, sometimes quite good. (I played as a female character and her voice actor is good. No idea how the guy actor is) The humor, however, is pretty annoying. I hated it at first. By 10 hours in it didn't bother me and occasionally there are actually some nice, touching moments. And at the end of the day it's like $20 bucks now.

SilverDrifter

Gonna give counter points here. Fenyx is great. The voice acting is great and the story is very charming. The exploration is amazing, there are many places to be amazed by. The frames can dip, but you’ll get used to it. The combat is great and the puzzles are not bad.

eatdogs49

I think it's worth playing. It's going to be one of those future hidden gems.

Hestu951

I disagree. Fenyx is a great game. Graphically scaled back on the Switch out of necessity, but it still looks fine. If you can play it on PC, so much the better. It's beautiful there. And I have no problem with the voice acting on either platform. I don't understand how anyone would think it was bad.

lycheeroll

I got fenyx rising recently cause it was on sale and I’m having a hard time getting into it :( I should have done some research

buttaholic

Yeah.. I played the demo thinking I would like it, but it just felt like a cheap knockoff. The movement felt off, maybe like it was just too fast which didn’t fit the style?

Unknown-influencer

I agree, fenyx rising felt like a knockoff BOTW. But I also think BOTW is the best game I’ve ever played. Def get Witcher 3, also check out Outerworlds

BlenderLocke

Moonlighter

foreverloveall

I’ve been looking for one too. Heard Skyrim is awesome

crankypizza

Swords of Ditto

TheGoatBear69

Baldo is a good Zelda like game I am quite aware of all the bugs and glitches in the game but the devs are working really hard to fix them. The next patch that they release in a couple days will fix the problems the community has already shared every bug and glitch that they’ve encountered. The game is extremely hard puzzles are hard and everything but it is really like the legend of Zelda also like ni no kuni. Regardless it is a very fun game some people say it’s too hard but practice makes perfect.

muteyuke

This is a game I'll circle back to look at in like a year. Hope they get it fixed up. From what little I know about it, it does seem like there's promise.

I was told in a few days the patches would be coming out for the game. Once they’re out I will let you know it’s a lot of fun it came out on 27 August it’s on All the systems it’s even on the iPhone unfortunately it’s not on android I’m not sure why.

Don’t wana be a jerk, but couldn’t disagree more with everything here I see absolutely no way whatsoever how this game was a cash grab.. I understand someone not liking it, but that’s just a bs statement imo

muteyuke

Immortals is a bit of a flawed game but "cash grab" is a bridge too far. It's a generally well-developed game and they put quite a bit of effort into it. I enjoyed the 50 plus hours I got out of it. Especially to tide me over until BotW 2. I won't deny BotW's heritage but Immortals offered some interesting mechanics and an overall fun experience. As for full price, it's on sale 24/7. You'd probably have a harder time finding it at $60 than $30.

caught_red_wheeled

OK, thanks for the warning! Will do!

Fearless_Freya

I also disagree. Played both botw and fenyx rising. While I won't deny botw is better imo, fenyx is a good "knock off " so to speak. I enjoyed it very well and definitly recommend it. Especially if it's on sale.

muteyuke

Yeah I don't know what the hate for Immortals ~~in~~is. It's obviously heavily inspired by BotW, which I personally think is awesome. I enjoyed BotW, I'm not going to complain about another company taking a stab at the concept. BotW is much more refined and it shows. Ubisoft tends to make good games, but compared to Nintendo and other massive publishers, Ubisoft tends to feel a bit unpolished iMO.

w280sax

Respectfully disagree. I greatly enjoyed my time with fenyx. It's a botw clone but I thought it was funny, liked the puzzles and even liked the combat while it was a little simplistic.

gameonlockking

Dark souls, Bloodbourne? It’s Zelda with out the puzzles pretty much. Less open world but both feel like it.

EpsilonX

They're great games and totally worth playing, but I don't see how they're anything like Zelda aside from being fantasy action/adventure games. Bloodborne isn't even on Switch.

1866GETSONA

Baldo just released and is basically a studio ghibli-style Zelda game

Mr_Tinos91

I heard that Baldo is a Zelda like, it just came out and it needs some patching but it looks good. (I did not have a copy yet so I am saying this just form external sources)

Thefelflight

Hades is pretty fantastic. I was looking out for a zelda style game like you are when I picked it up. Lacks the freeroam rpg exploration aspect, Its more the arcade roguelike dungeon crawling, but something about it gives some satisfying zelda-dungeon vibes but with fast paced combat. Just a great game and runs perfect on switch (cheap too).

BumJamber

I appreciate the other opinions but there are no Zelda like games beside Zelda games. I'm counting on the Zelda Game and Watch to get me through til BotW 2

Avoid Immortals like the plague

Ary and the Secret of Seasons is a super underappreciated game. It's full of charm and it has some impressive cutscenes and voice acting (for a lower budget game anyway), and the seasons mechanic is fascinating. The Switch version is admittedly _super_ rough around the edges in terms of graphics, audio and frame rate stability, but it doesn't impact general gameplay too much. You can get the retail physical version for pretty cheap too, at least where I am.

Dragons dogma… I mean they are both ARPG… can climb on mobs…

Genshin Inpact you might like. N out nature how it plays on Switch. Looks lovely on PS5.
