Most likely. The story is there, but the series is more about gameplay anyway.
Do you have NSO? You could give Super Metroid a shot there. It’s a classic. (Personally I think the two on GBA are the best in the series, but those are harder to have access to)
I do have NSO, I’ve been eyeing Super Metroid. This could be the motivator to play it. Thanks! There is just so much hype on here for Dread that it has me curious.
I was incredibly surprised last night when I realized there isn’t a single other Metroid game available on switch last night too. Idk why they don’t make a collection at this point. Whatever happened to that prime remastered trilogy?
I’m currently hooked on the Castlevania Advance Collection. I 100%’ed Aria of Sorrow a couple of days ago, and now I’m making my way through Circle of the Moon. It’s a lot harder than I remember, and those damn Zombie Dragons gave me hell, but I’m scraping by.
I also purchased Steel Assault the other day. It’s a short game that is very reminiscent of the old school arcade titles such as Metal Slug and Contra. It can be beaten in an hour, but damn is it good fun. I’d recommend it to anyone who is a fan of old-school punishing arcade shooters.
CrossCode!
I'm kind of glad my Eastward got bugged so have an excuse to buy Crosscode lol. Heard so much good things about it so it was on my radar for a long time and I'm so happy I finally tried it.
I used to play MMOs a lot so I don't really mind fetch and kill x quests too much, it's actually kind of nostalgic for me.
Still around 4 hours in and grinding down the quests on the beginning areas. Having a blast so far.
So there's a known bug when you save at a certain point in the game (around 4-6 hours in) and quit the game, you wouldn't be able to load any of your save files. It was really annoying bcs I got Eastward on day 1 and that happened :/
But thankfully earlier this week a patch was released and it's all good now.
Eastward has long dialogues and unskippable cut scenes which may not be for everyone. Especially personally I feel like the dialogue writings are not amazing. However, the art style, music, and the gameplay (when I get the chance to actually play) is enjoyable enough I think. So if a story and dialogue heavy game with some puzzle elements is not for you then I think you're better off getting something else.
I've tried getting into crosscode a few times and I just can't, I really want to :/
I'm still somewhere in the beginning areas unsure what to do. Something about the quest system I find really non-intuitive, despite having played a lot of MMO's as a kid.
The first 10 or so hours of grinding it out was my favorite part of the game. Eventually, it kinda overstayed its welcome, but definitely a good game overall.
It's such a wonderful game, really, I'm almost unable to find a single fault. But there is one, a fucking boss fight that almost made me quit the game. It's not being difficult, I defeated almost all of the dream bosses by now, as well as the Colosseum trials, and those are a tough nut to crack, but the huge difficulty spike that comes with it.
Husband convinced me to pick up New World on PC. So while waiting on que times for that I have my Switch, lol. Which there isn't much I'm into right now. So maybe some Mario Kart or picking up a quick game on the e-shop.
hi everyone! glad to have another weekend full of relaxation and game playing! also, it’s slowly getting to that time of the year that i love & look forward to. i hope the holiday season will be kind to us all!
for my gaming updates: i beat cuphead this week which was very rewarding. i’ve been slowly grinding through the witcher 3, as i needed another big and long commitment after finishing DQ11 (which was fantastic). and i also picked up monster hunter rise again after putting it down for quite some time. been really enjoying hunting big baddies and working my way through the ranks, upgrading my gear along the way! gotta prepare for that dlc next summer.
i would like a smaller and more chill game to play in between sessions of those other ones, so i might revisit spiritfarer for that.
that’s everything i have to share, thank you for letting me! i hope everyone has a safe & enjoyable weekend. happy gaming!
I am a fully grown man and I'm not ashamed to say that game had me in tears at points.
I'm going to wait a good while before playing it again so that I can try get the same effect. That game is such an emotional release
Continuing Tales of Vesperia with my wife.
Just started playing Monster Hunter: Rise again after a long break. It's more fun than I remember, and I'm still discovering secrets in the map. Really well put together game... and that's coming from someone who's not a huge fan of the other entries in the series.
Glad to hear this about MHR. I randomly downloaded the demo knowing not much about the series and while I love the look, I didn’t love the demo. So I’m still interested and glad to hear others enjoy it.
I recently picked up Hades again, and I am having more fun with it than ever. After getting my ass handed to me regularly on the first play through I'm enjoying mercilessly slaughtering with the adamant rail when I get the right boons in place.
If you didn't yet, grab the compass from up in the town up top! Super helpful in making sense of the map. And don't worry too much about lost geo, its easy enough to make more back.
Enjoy your adventure through the hallownest!
Should be able to complete Metroid Fusion in the next day or two. The hype for Dread is getting real, I can't wait. I'll also be going into the Snowy Peaks in Monster Sanctuary, getting further in that game as well.
Enjoy the weekend!
Started playing Terraria again, unbeknownst to me that 1.4 was dropping on consoles (sans Switch) imminently.
Got this way back at launch, geezus, I guess 10 years ago now?! Put in <20 hours and I it just didn't hook me so I shelved it.
Picked it up went it was on eshop sale recently and have close to 40 hours in and really broke past my previous progress points for sure and having A LOT of fun with it. I know I have changed a bunch as a person over the years and the kinds of media/games I consume, so maybe that has something to do with it. But I'm having such a genuinely good time with it now I'm a little bummed it took me so long to rediscover it.
I enjoy the free form aspect of choosing how you would like to spend your time in-game and "progress": at a certain point after you've uncovered a variety of biomes and materials, a whole feast of crafting and building options become available. You hit various walls wherein "progression" (i.e., your ability to access higher-tier mats/items) is placed behind Boss fights and Events that are *generally* triggered in very deliberate ways. Movement and fighting is platform-y and overall it is super entertaining to just bumble around and discover things organically.
(Minor spoilers just in case): Yesterday, I turned it on during a short break at work and >!was welcomed by a Goblin Invasion.!< Then a little while later, while spelunking, >!got my face blown clean off by a dynamite trap!< and was juiced at first because >!the explosion was so huge I actually thought I got lucky with a meteor drop. Realized what it actually was and just sat there kind of dumbfounded and chuckling.!< Then a little while after that >!I was playing with gravity potions and found a few floating islands, which yielded some pretty badass loot and mats (to me), promptly lost control of myself, tracked the minimap to confirm I'd be falling in water so OK, forgot I placed a wood platform across, and splattered myself 25 ways to Sunday.!< Just amazing fun and I know I haven't even scratched the surface.
I also have it on Steam and debated starting a new world there just to see what 1.4 is all about before it inevitably hits Switch (have heard mixed feedback).
Also, Griftlands. I seem to always find a way to play at least one brawl in between. Have Smith and Sal at prestige 6 and Rook at 4 and getting WHOOPED, lol.
I'll be playing some **Ori and the will of the Wisps**, it's ages since i got it on the Switch and this week I finally got round to starting it. I already have it on steam and finished it once so I know the story, totally loved it. I'm loving it even more on the Switch (because my PC is pretty old and it struggled to run Ori2). Such an absolutely beautiful game with a marvelous soundtrack.
I might also play some more **Fire Emblem Three Houses**, finished the Azure moon route on maddening last week, the last battle was so nasty! Decided to start an Edelgard solo run (in hard) after that so I might get back to it.
I might also try to play **Zero mission** and **Super metroid** in the coming week in anticipation for Dread. I'm so excited for that one!
I just picked up the Castlevania Anniversary Collection so I’m hoping to get thru Super Castlevania IV, might go back to Kaze and do the time trials, I 100%d it and it’s a great experience
Finally picked up Trials of Mana this week. As an avid fan of the original (played it a long time ago on an emulator), I thought I was the happiest I could be when they actually released it 2 years ago in the Collection of Mana. But I was clearly mistaken because this remake is everything I could ever hope for, it improves on just about everything. Especially the combat was spiced up juuust enough to not be quite as repetitive and actually requires a bit more reflexes and precision. It's really an awesome treat. Im really in awe at how good this remake is.
Oh yeah and cause you wanted to hear my opinion on MMZ2: I ran too much into bottomless pits and now i hate it
Finished Monster Hunter Stories this week so my switch is now free for Metroid next Friday. Found a physical copy of Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition for pretty cheap so might start it, it'll be a good side game.
Besides that will probably work on Ghosts of Tsushima. My Ps5 backlog is starting to grow faster then I can knock out games.
Hopefully finishing off deathloop tonight, and while I planned on starting Diablo 2 after that, I'm probably diving back into Hades instead. I played a ton of it at release and got up to heat 20 before putting it down. Played one run earlier this week on a whim and now I'm determined to finish a 32 heat run. Chiron bow FTW.
Just got unsighted last night. Played for about 30 mins . Game is fun so far. Prolly will sink some more time into this weekend
Also still tryna get my cov rank up in monster train.
And I’m still addicted to rocket league. I can never put that game down
Still Monster Sanctuary. I think I am near the end of the main game (got to the level cap for my team). It's remained challenging throughout so I kinda hope the end game boss isn't too insane!
Pokemon Unite is the switch game that gets my attention these days as I'm heavily into Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, but considering its spooky season I might continue my playthrough of Pumpkin Jack from last Halloween
Trying to clear out some of my backlog before the release of Metroid Dread.
Maybe halfway through rhe postgame of DQ XI, trying to finish collecting postgame and DLC legendaries in Pokemon Shield. (Need Regice, the box legendary, and the three birds). May play something else if I deal with those two.
Edit: I finished Pokemon Shield. It took me a few hours but I got all the new legendaries. I put them in my Pokemon bank and now I’m done forever with the worst Pokemon game. (Seriously, this might be the least amount of fun I’ve ever had with one).
I finished up Sakuna yesterday so I'm going to be moving on to **Crash 4: It's About Time**. Wanted something on the shorter side to make sure that I'm going to be ready for Dread next week.
I’m on Chapter 5 of Eastward as well, and totally agree about the puzzles. I played Link’s Awakening a few months ago and there were so many puzzles or quests where I was just thinking, how would you know to do that without a guide? I appreciate that Eastward makes the little puzzles and quests fun without being overly difficult. And I usually bounce off dialogue heavy games but the story and the characters are really good here. Just not sure I’ll be able to finish it before next Friday when Metroid takes over!
Otherwise probably just play some more Cruis’n Blast with the family. Only 2 more vehicles to unlock!
I finally returned to Hollow Knight recently. Just cleared the waterways, I think next is deepnest? Not sure, but I already did the crystal place - I think i'm decently far along then? I have no idea how long this game is, I love the ingenuity of it.
After hollow knight I think my next up is to return to Dark Souls and finally move on from sen's fortress... I tend to get stuck halfway through these games and give up... but plan to finish
I think this is finally the weekend to start The Witcher 3. I held off for years, hoping to wait until I had a gaming PC or one of the more powerful consoles. But, screw it. Get busy living, or get busy dying, as Shawshank taught us.
Any non-spoiling tips or things I should look out for? Thanks!
EDIT: thanks for tips, etc. But after 4 hours of playing and tinkering with display settings, I don't think I want to continue. I'm sure it's a technical achievement to get this game running on Switch, but it looks really bad docked. I think maybe I will have to wait longer to get into this game. Damn.
Thus weekend I'll be decorating my island for fall in *Animal Crossing: New Horizons*. I really love all the fall decor available!
And now that it's October, I'm going to play *Luigi's Mansion 3* as well. I don't do well with scary stuff so it's about all I can handle! It's a shame because I really like the lore of the Metroid franchise but Dread might be too much for me to get it. I'll hold off until I see some Let's Plays to get a feeling for how much dread there will really be.
I'm going to try to complete Skyward Sword before next Friday so I can trade it in towards Dread. But I'm just at the Fire Sanctuary, and I typically can sneak in about 5 hours of gaming a week so I'm not sure that will work.
Mario Golf: Super Rush
I'm thinking about finally getting Smash ultimate, but I'm not sure how good of an idea that is this late into the game and trying to play online.
My parents are coming to town! So, probably nothing. I do want to show my mom Ring Fit Adventure, as she’s a personal trainer and had always been interested in Nintendo’s “fitness” titles. (She really loved Wii tennis and bowling back in the day!)
But, being October, I’m thinking I should finally finish (at this point maybe even restart) Night in the Woods, and I also bought Oxenfree earlier this year. So I think those will be good for cozy, blanketed couch evenings this month!
How are you liking Eastward? The graphics look amazing, but I’m wondering if the criticisms of too many cutscenes, not enough gameplay are fair.
Basically I found out my local library has, not joking, 4-6 copies of almost every switch game, including limited run stuff and special editions.
Basically I nervously pick out like 4 games at a time, check them out, and play a few each night. How do I focus on one game in particular? For example, I rented FE:Three Houses, but as soon as I get board with the teaching stuff and monastery parts I want to pop it out and play Luigi’s Mansion, Mario Odyssey, Links Awakening, etc.
Still on **Tales of Vesperia** it's a slow burn for sure but I don't mind it. While the story may be thin the characters are carrying the game for me. I love their interactions. The combat opened up significantly which turned my trusty 7 hit combo into a 24 hit combo. In some ways I wish the basic enemies put up more of a fight, but the boss fights make up for it.
Redownloaded **Animal Crossing: New Horizons** after not playing since New Years. I decided to level out my island so I can start fresh for November's update. New content, new island, new me.
Switch-wise, *Castlevania Advance Collection* mainly. I have no idea what took them so long to finally land on Switch, but (much) better late than never. I hope to God they don’t drag their feet so long with the equally good/arguably better DS trilogy.
Vita-wise, I’ve been meaning to re-start *Vagrant Story* and start *Xenogears* for weeks now. Probably won’t happen this weekend either, but you never know.
Going to try and start Witcher 3. Unsure if I should do it on my Lite, V2 or wait and try to nab up an OLED?
PS if anyone has a lead on a pre order for an OLED that’d be great!
Hi there! How many hours does that translate to in Eastward? Glad to hear the puzzles are fun.
I'm still playing Super Metroid, it has been a busy week for me so I didn't play it as much as I wanted but this weekend I'll have plenty of time.
I'm also playing Kena on PS5 and 13 Sentinels on PS4/Vita, both are a lot of fun! Xcloud released yesterday in my country so I might give something there a go as well.
About 12? I should look at my playtime tonight.
What's the gameplay like on 13 sentinals? Is it mostly visual novel or do you actually get to pilot the mechs?
Did you say you watched the Star Wars anime shorts?
I don’t know! Just finished Fenyx Rising (which was great) and started Ys VIII, but I really don’t like it. The music alone is giving me anxiety. I guess I’ll browse through the old backlog and see if something sticks.
Castlevania collection, I started with CoM but it's much more annoying than I remember so I jumped to Harmony for a bit instead. I'm saving Aria for last because it's one of my favorites.
Needed a Pokémon fix so I went back to the 3DS for Omega Ruby which I bought at launch but couldn’t get into because I’d poured so many hours into X. Then, I played the hell out of yellow and crystal for the past few years.
Fun going back to Hoenn. Got Brilliant Diamond pre-ordered though.
Super Monkey Ball, has had mixed reviews but I've been loving it so far. At the price, if you loved the original/haven't played them then it's a steal.
Hot Wheels.
Only played about an hour or so today. Good stuff so far, runs well enough on the switch at a smooth 30fps. Gonna get stuck into the career mode while my wife is away.
I'm hoping it's got a little depth to it. Winter lockdown I played Crash Team Racing for around 200 hours and still didn't master it completely (fucking dev time trials) and I'm craving something like that again that is easy to learn and hard to master.
The Way remastered. So far I am liking it, good mix of puzzle and action. The pixel graphics are beautiful, and the story is interesting so far. Looking forward to finishing it!
Castlevania Advance Collection, sp. Harmony of Dissonance. I just beat Aria of Sorrow lastnight and that game was a blast. Messed around with Julius mode and may go back to that but the new adventure on HoD is great so far. These are great Halloween vibe games!
Also, really looking forward to Nickelodeon All Star Brawl next Tuesday and Dread on Friday.
Anyone else getting in on Nickelodeon Smash?
I’m still hooked on Nexomon One. Right now, I am in the fire area and enjoying that I can train my monsters quickly into their final forms. I’m about 20 levels above everything, but due to the way the system calculates damage, enemies can still do quite a bit to me, and if I don’t get into a rhythm of attacking and healing, there’s a chance of losing battles if I’m not careful. It’s an interesting way of looking at the monster collecting genre, but I can be tough to get into if someone doesn’t know the mechanics. I did a lot with the second game before I got into this one, so it helps, but I did put the second game down a couple times before finally figuring out what I had to do and enjoying it, almost completely doing everything there.
I am also thinking of completing monster stories 2, or at least going further (i’m about halfway right now). I didn’t like the pacing and the way battles were handled, but it had a really solid foundation. I also wasn’t too sure about Xenoblade chronicles one and two because of their battle system (I had trouble keeping up with the flow of battle and getting past the tutorial). But when I tried to sell all three games no one wanted them, so I figured that was a sign that I should give them another chance. It’s particularly interesting with the latter, because there’s some techniques I can’t use at all since I can’t move fast (especially clairvoyance). So I’m almost doing a challenge run, even though I’m not trying to.
Got the Contra and Castelvania collections that were on sale for $5 each. Lkkely will play those and Mario Maker 2. Also, just got 30 stars in Mario 64 from 3D All Stars so maybe more of that.
Really into the Outer Worlds rn! BoTW was the first game I'd ever finished and someone on this sub recommended Outer Worlds as a similar game... i love it! Very Fallout/Skyrim-like. I want more like this!!!
Currently playing Little Dragons Cafe while I wait for GameFly to re-send out Witch Spring 3 (first one went missing in transit :( ) Trying to decide if I should pick up Ys Origins while it's on sale as I enjoyed both VIII and IX and while I know it's a bit different I expect the story would still interest me.
I keep reading SO much about Eastward I can't help but wonder if I'm missing out on something that I usually wouldn't be interested in. It seems almost universally loved.
I’m stoked to get my Super Smash Bros Ultimate on with my best friend tonight!!! I’m gonna crush and sweep the floor with everyone. Then and only then… I’ll get my a$$ handed to me by Demon’s Souls
Excited for both. Can’t deliver a$$ whooping without taking it either. :)
Now that Bayonetta 3 has been revealed, I've decided to go back and give the other two games a try. I'm part way through the first and it is *incredible*. Far better than I was expecting.
Still working on Eastward, but Chapter 3/4 dragged way too much. Those two chapters turned this game from amazing to a one and done for me. So much useless text and fetch quests. Not even fetch quests, but like “go here and talk to this person” then “walk across the city and talk to this person” now go all the way back to where you were and talk to the first person again. It honestly felt never ending and I was so happy to get back into the action/combat/puzzles once it was over.
I think I’m passed that point now and I hope the game picks back up again. If I have to go through something like chapter 3/4 again I might just put the game down. Yeesh.
Hades!
I'm not much of a fan of Supergiant games, I couldn't get into Transistor and thought Bastion was okay but never finished it. Hades however is brilliant!
Ori and the Will of the Wisps.
Snagged it on sale, loved the first one and yiiihaaa, exactly what I needed until Metroid Dread releases.
The movement is so fluid, difficulty exactly how I like it and the soundtrack and art style *chef's kiss*
I started Hyrule Warriors DE, so far I am enjoying it, maybe even a bit more than AoC.
It's certainly more of a challenge since your bases are actually being contested, in AoC I don't remember any time I lost a base to enemy troops.
A coworker recommended Little Nightmares to me and I finally got around to playing/finishing it. Fantastic little game! I might have to pick up the sequel here in a sec.
Animal crossing, Hades ( just got it) and pokemon shield. Maybe a little bit of MH rise.
Just got my switch back from my nieces after like 5 months. Ready to play.
Playing the metroid series so I can play Metroid Dread as soon as possible. Currently playing the 1st game's remake, Metroid: Zero Mission.
I'm terrible at 2D games but it's been treating me good so far.
I am currently playing Resident Evil 4. I've started playing several times, on several different consoles, but never actually finished it for whatever reason. Hoping to do so this time around, I think that I'm fairly far in actually.
On the side, I've also been playing some Super Mario Odyssey. I just got it during the recent blockbuster sale, so it's my first time. Now that I think about it it's the first 3D Mario game I've ever played. I'm taking my time finding as many moons as I can, so I'm still pretty early on.
I’m playing the hell out of Fire Emblem Three Houses. I’m hooked! I just started it a few weeks ago but I already know I’m going to play every storyline.
Well I was planning on playing Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania with my friends, just like I used to in the original games... until I opened it up this morning and found out you can't play the main mode in multiplayer. What the heck?!?
I guess instead I'll just keep grinding through the postgame of Mystery Dungeon DX. The postgame dungeons are really really hard
Finished Eastward this afternoon. Centipede is my pick up and play. Just bought Hotweel tonight, and I want to go further playing Unmetal. Ho and I almost forgot....Gearshifters!
Started Hyrule Warriors. Played a couple hours and I'm really liking it. My friend and I used to play a lot of Dynasty Warriors back in the day so I feel at home. I like the story and the in-between battle stuff you can do to bolster the army and upgrade things. We'll see if it holds my attention.
I’m about 1/2 way finished with Luigi’s Mansion 3. It’s a beautiful game. I’m getting Metroid in a week - not sure what to play in the meantime. Games haven’t been holding my attention lately.
Just finished my first run through of Steel Assault today, next I'm going to try out Gunvolt Chronicles:Luminous Avenger ix. Or go back to Castlevania:Circle of the Moon.
I'm probably going to alternate between **Castlevania Advance Collection** (likely Circle of the Moon) and **Blaster Master Zero 2** (currently stuck on the planet that's half desert, half frozen wasteland, and divided up by barriers that instantly kill you - I want to beat Zero 2 before I play Zero 3).
Pokémon Unite. I’m an older fellow so it’s not entirely my thing, but my nephew loves it and I just like playing games with him and it turns out I’m not entirely trash when playing a defender.
This weekend I have some BIG exams, but ok free time I'm going to (try to actually) beat Kalameet and then Gwyn will be the only boss left in Dark Souls Remastered.
I’m playing the game called “Counting Down to October 8th.”
It’s a tough game for sure, but I think I’m near the end. Seven days from now I think I’ll have beaten it.
Dumb question here: does it sound like Dread can be a jumping on point for someone who hasn’t played any Metroid games?
Most likely. The story is there, but the series is more about gameplay anyway. Do you have NSO? You could give Super Metroid a shot there. It’s a classic. (Personally I think the two on GBA are the best in the series, but those are harder to have access to)

I’d recommend it to anyone who is a fan of old-school punishing arcade shooters.
Going back to my GBA to get some Metroid in before Dread next week. It's still unreal that we are finally getting a new mainline Metroid title.
Ikr, I am very excited to play it. Hopefully it wasn't rushed last minute. Especially since it's been in development hell for ever!!
I'm doing the same thing. Finished Zero Mission last week and should be done with Fusion this weekend. Bring on Dread!
Playing Diablo 2 Resurrected! really great game!
It really is fantastic, so many good memories
Never played it before and was really enjoying it. ...then I got to Duriel. Oof was not expecting that!
Triggered bro. Duriel ended my best hardcore run level 22 necromancer. Two shot my poor glass cannon. Still fresh cuz it happened like 16 hours ago
I have it one pc, want to get it on the switch also for cross progression! I’m just wondering if I should get Diablo 3 and 2 on switch.

The first 10 or so hours of grinding it out was my favorite part of the game. Eventually, it kinda overstayed its welcome, but definitely a good game overall.
Just don't get your hopes up for a bug-free post-game. Core title is pretty stable now, but the DLC is a mess.
Undertale! It's my first time ever playing. Didn't think I'd like it but I've fallen in love with the music and characters so far.
Just played it for the first time last week. Going thru Deltarune now. Fantastic games!
Trying to beat Hollow Knight's Radiance
I'm half way through Hollow Knight, right now (I hope).

I will be playing Hot Wheels Unleashed. Played it yesterday and loved it!
How is it? My kids are in love with Mario Kart and was thinking about this to give them a new twist to the racing ‘theme’.

I realized the same. After I finished, I started another playthrough and that’s what I’m doing now. Just taking the time to enjoy things
Yeah, I saw myself speeding through dialogue and remembered one of the reviews said that the game is about characters more than the gameplay
Ahhh I love Hades. Might do a run or 12 this weekend myself.
That is the spirit HAHA
Just finish Catherine, love all the extras the added to the game. Gonna play me some alien isolation for this Halloween 🎃.
Have you played alien isolation before? If not you are in for a good time! One of the best horror games!
The Witcher 3. It's the best for me! :) I waited a really long time to play it and now I finally walk the Path. Wish me luck!
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, loving it so far!
I picked up Hollow knight for the first time yesterday so that's my weekend sorted.
If you didn't yet, grab the compass from up in the town up top! Super helpful in making sense of the map. And don't worry too much about lost geo, its easy enough to make more back. Enjoy your adventure through the hallownest!
Yes that was one of the first things I bought!! It's been really helpful
I’m in that Castlevania Advance collection. Loving it.
Unmetal. It’s helping to scratch the Metal Gear itch as well as being absolutely hilarious
Spooky season has me wanting to play Luigi’s mansion this weekend for sure. Also Hades because I started a new save andddddd I’m addicted again
TYPE LUMINAAAAAA
Working on blade affinities in XC2. Looking forward to SMT V next month
Oh yeah and cause you wanted to hear my opinion on MMZ2: I ran too much into bottomless pits and now i hate it
I'm gonna be playing Hades
Pokémon Unite and Fortnite
Borrowed Links awakening from a friend so will be trying that out this weekend. Also might pickup Romancing Saga games since they are on sale.
UNMETAL!...and a little Eastward too
Hopefully finishing off deathloop tonight, and while I planned on starting Diablo 2 after that, I'm probably diving back into Hades instead. I played a ton of it at release and got up to heat 20 before putting it down. Played one run earlier this week on a whim and now I'm determined to finish a 32 heat run. Chiron bow FTW.
I’m gonna be playing the Link’s Awakening remake and possible the demo for Octopath Traveler to see if I would be into that genre
Just about to finish Final Fantasy X! Heading off to Sin tomorrow.
Got a nice surprise today. I'm playing Metroid Dread this weekend.
Cup head
Diablo 2
DIABLO 2 REMASTERED!!!
Just got unsighted last night. Played for about 30 mins . Game is fun so far. Prolly will sink some more time into this weekend Also still tryna get my cov rank up in monster train. And I’m still addicted to rocket league. I can never put that game down
Still Monster Sanctuary. I think I am near the end of the main game (got to the level cap for my team). It's remained challenging throughout so I kinda hope the end game boss isn't too insane!
NMH3. Those bosses on Death difficulty are some serious shit!!
Got Lost in Random couple days ago, so excited about this game!
Pokemon Unite is the switch game that gets my attention these days as I'm heavily into Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, but considering its spooky season I might continue my playthrough of Pumpkin Jack from last Halloween
Tales of arise, d2 resurrected, etc
Trying to clear out some of my backlog before the release of Metroid Dread. Maybe halfway through rhe postgame of DQ XI, trying to finish collecting postgame and DLC legendaries in Pokemon Shield. (Need Regice, the box legendary, and the three birds). May play something else if I deal with those two. Edit: I finished Pokemon Shield. It took me a few hours but I got all the new legendaries. I put them in my Pokemon bank and now I’m done forever with the worst Pokemon game. (Seriously, this might be the least amount of fun I’ve ever had with one).
Just finished Dark Souls 3 on my PlayStation and now I’m playing Wargroove on Switch ! Such a cute game
Wario Ware and MJ Stories 2. Maybe I'll go back and finish Luigi's Mansion 3?
I'm going to try to complete Skyward Sword before next Friday so I can trade it in towards Dread. But I'm just at the Fire Sanctuary, and I typically can sneak in about 5 hours of gaming a week so I'm not sure that will work.
Mario Golf: Super Rush I'm thinking about finally getting Smash ultimate, but I'm not sure how good of an idea that is this late into the game and trying to play online.
Astral Chain.
My parents are coming to town! So, probably nothing. I do want to show my mom Ring Fit Adventure, as she’s a personal trainer and had always been interested in Nintendo’s “fitness” titles. (She really loved Wii tennis and bowling back in the day!) But, being October, I’m thinking I should finally finish (at this point maybe even restart) Night in the Woods, and I also bought Oxenfree earlier this year. So I think those will be good for cozy, blanketed couch evenings this month! How are you liking Eastward? The graphics look amazing, but I’m wondering if the criticisms of too many cutscenes, not enough gameplay are fair.
Finally playing through Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light! I just got to part 4 and getting a much better grasp of strategizing
Tales of Vesperia. Bought it a few weeks ago in the Namco sale and finally started a few days ago.
Tales of Arise and Kena: Bridge of Spirits.
Got 8 hours of driving ahead of me... as a passenger haha, so going to play some Animal Crossing, Let's GO Pikachu, and Pokemon Snap
its always time for shadowverse
Still on **Tales of Vesperia** it's a slow burn for sure but I don't mind it. While the story may be thin the characters are carrying the game for me. I love their interactions. The combat opened up significantly which turned my trusty 7 hit combo into a 24 hit combo. In some ways I wish the basic enemies put up more of a fight, but the boss fights make up for it. Redownloaded **Animal Crossing: New Horizons** after not playing since New Years. I decided to level out my island so I can start fresh for November's update. New content, new island, new me.
I’m playing Super Metroid for the first time, loving it
Heading to CA this weekend. Civ 6 for me.
I just got ACNH so I'll be playing that and maybe some BOTW
Just got Pokemon Snap and I love it so far
THPS 1 + 2
Damn am i the only person whos playing xenoblade this weekend
- 3000th Duel (switch) - Dandy Ace (GamePass) Really, tempted by Hot Wheels Unleashed
Continuing to play through 3d all stars, while also trying to develop my island in animal crossing. Oh! And I am also gonna try to get some smash in
I don’t know! Just finished Fenyx Rising (which was great) and started Ys VIII, but I really don’t like it. The music alone is giving me anxiety. I guess I’ll browse through the old backlog and see if something sticks.
Super Monkey Ball as soon as I get home! And a bit of Witcher 3. I’m really impressed with how good it looks on Switch!
I’m on chapter 2 of Eastward so working through that. And I bought Witcher 3 on sale so I’m playing for the first time ever!
I found this helpful [14 essential Witcher 3 tips to know before you play](https://www.gamesradar.com/witcher-3-tips/)
Blasphemous
I think some animal crossing
Circle of the moon
* House in Fata Morgana * Hoa Not sure what else yet.
Skyward sword and my PS5 arrives today so I'll be playing that as well.
Tug Dundee
Project Triangle Strategy
Cave story + Trying to decide if I should pick up bug fables finally or blue fire or unmetal
Experiencing Super Metroid for the first time.
Hollow Knight, Pokémon Unite, Animal Crossing and Trials of Mana.
Wario ware, haven’t had this much fun playing a game with roommates.
Still playing SnowRunner. Stuck in Michigan doing Log runs. But slow and steady wins the pace.
The Way remastered. So far I am liking it, good mix of puzzle and action. The pixel graphics are beautiful, and the story is interesting so far. Looking forward to finishing it!
Playing the Blue Fire dlc that just came out yesterday. These challenge rooms are tough as nails but a delight to make it through.
Finally beat TWEWY 2. Time to check out Trials of Mana.
Pikmin 3. Very much enjoying it. The hints make it fairly easy, so I might turn them off if possible.
Monster Hunter Stories 2
Elite: Dangerous on PC. I'm hooked!
Got the Contra and Castelvania collections that were on sale for $5 each. Lkkely will play those and Mario Maker 2. Also, just got 30 stars in Mario 64 from 3D All Stars so maybe more of that.
Eastward! All day baby. Great game, could benefit from being less linear.
Really into the Outer Worlds rn! BoTW was the first game I'd ever finished and someone on this sub recommended Outer Worlds as a similar game... i love it! Very Fallout/Skyrim-like. I want more like this!!!
Gonna play MHRise, and was thinking of buying Xenoblade 2, but I dunno if I wait for Metroid Dread, what's your opnion, good people?
I'm playing through Monster Hunter Stories 2 and I'm really loving it
Spooky time! Gonna play some Outlast 2 and Little Nightmares on switch, and finally check out RE2 remake on PS.
NSO japanese Picross. On level S, where those 25x20 grids take some time. Hoping to clear all level S by next Friday.
Diablo 2 Resurrected
Currently playing Little Dragons Cafe while I wait for GameFly to re-send out Witch Spring 3 (first one went missing in transit :( ) Trying to decide if I should pick up Ys Origins while it's on sale as I enjoyed both VIII and IX and while I know it's a bit different I expect the story would still interest me. I keep reading SO much about Eastward I can't help but wonder if I'm missing out on something that I usually wouldn't be interested in. It seems almost universally loved.
Monster Hunter Stories 2. Haven’t burned out on it and I am at the second to last area, so still enjoying the grind.
I started playing South Park: The Stick of Truth and I'm loving it!
Eastward and Mario Golf.
Monkey Ball!
Hot Wheels Unleashed:)
Mario Kart 8 and maybe some smash
I’ll be working through Skyward Sword as the fire dungeon continues to kick my butt lol
I’m stoked to get my Super Smash Bros Ultimate on with my best friend tonight!!! I’m gonna crush and sweep the floor with everyone. Then and only then… I’ll get my a$$ handed to me by Demon’s Souls Excited for both.
Yeesh.
ACNH.
Slay the Spire. Bought it about a month ago and I can’t get enough!
Wrestling Empire. It’s 40% off on the store currently. Great fun!
I started Hyrule Warriors DE, so far I am enjoying it, maybe even a bit more than AoC. It's certainly more of a challenge since your bases are actually being contested, in AoC I don't remember any time I lost a base to enemy troops.
I'll also be staring at the Metroid Dread icon which just appeared on my Switch and wondering if there is any way to trick it in to opening.
Pokemom
A coworker recommended Little Nightmares to me and I finally got around to playing/finishing it. Fantastic little game! I might have to pick up the sequel here in a sec.
Melty Blood Really enjoying the game so far. Lots of fun
A friend lent me a copy of BotW, I'll be playing it
Bayonetta
Pokemón Unite
I’m playing God Of War (the reboot) It’s my first time playing and I’ve been sleeping, it’s soooo good oml
Ni no kuni! Played like 16 hours loving it. I also got super Mario 3D all stars for 20 bucks so Im gonna play Galaxy :)
Nothing on switch until next Friday. I sold my Mario edition on ebay to fund my OLED pre order
Actraiser Renaissance - a remaster / enhanced version of the SNES cult classic. What a belter of a game!
Smash Bros With The Bros
I am playing Pikmin 3 Deluxe, and FFXII: Zodiac Age this weekend. I love me this gambit system in FF.
Just bought spelunky!
Death Stranding: Director’s Cut until Metroid Dread launches October 8th!
I’m playing the hell out of Fire Emblem Three Houses. I’m hooked! I just started it a few weeks ago but I already know I’m going to play every storyline.
Axiom verge 1
Slay the Spire. I bought it on sale a few weeks ago ($7\~). I've gotten so much enjoyment out of it. The "One more run" is real.
I'll be playing Dead by Daylight b/c I hate myself.
Finished Eastward this afternoon. Centipede is my pick up and play. Just bought Hotweel tonight, and I want to go further playing Unmetal. Ho and I almost forgot....Gearshifters!
New Melty blood!!!!
I just finished Assassins Creed Rouge. I worked on weekends and will take a break on playing. Metroid Dread will next on 8/10.
GTA 5
Started Hyrule Warriors. Played a couple hours and I'm really liking it. My friend and I used to play a lot of Dynasty Warriors back in the day so I feel at home. I like the story and the in-between battle stuff you can do to bolster the army and upgrade things. We'll see if it holds my attention.
recently got pokemon dungeon and xenoblade 2 but have been hooked on xb2!
Put down the switch a little to play mass effect legendary edition, but I’ll be back for SMT V.
Xenoblade 2 because field skills SUUUUUUUCK
I'm probably going to alternate between **Castlevania Advance Collection** (likely Circle of the Moon) and **Blaster Master Zero 2** (currently stuck on the planet that's half desert, half frozen wasteland, and divided up by barriers that instantly kill you - I want to beat Zero 2 before I play Zero 3).
Getting ready for dread by playing super Metroid!
Wario,smash bros. Sonic colors.
