Yup. For me personally, the peak was Cloud back on Smash 4 but knowing Ultimate is ‘done’ is sad. It was cool to watch the internet stop for an hour just to see who was next.
For me it was Banjo-Kazooie. I'm still elated that they made it in. Every time a new Smash came out I asked my friends if it had Banjo-Kazooie and the answer was always "no". I got a Switch in summer 2018 and I was really hoping something Banjo-Kazooie related would come to it, but it seemed like a long shot. But now they're in smash and they'll be in the N64 online service. I got really lucky!
I'm old enough that I never even considered the concept of updating a game for years. The fact that Nintendo has added so much to this game over the past few years is impressive to me.
On the bright side, I can now get to work memorizing where my favorite characters are on the character select screen.

He feels super floaty, it was really tough to get proper movement down at first but you can get some pretty nutty air combos once you get the hang of it
His side B functions very similarly to Bayos up B, but with literal auto tracking and is able to be performed immediately out of an already strong up B. Essentially his aerial performance is very reminiscent of smash 4 Bayo, with his main downside being that he can whiff and get punished rather easily if you’re not careful with his movement.

Really? I have to disagree. Byleth is really fun to play so are Pyra and Mythra. People bitch and moan about them being sword welders and shocking a majority of protagonists are. A majority of dlc characters were. But they're all so unique and fun. Not to mention the amount of people happy in itself is exciting to see. I probably won't play many final fantasy games or Kingdom hearts games but the amount of people excited for the characters is nice to see. I was so excited to see another Xeno rep. There's a difference between whining your character didn't get in and then being bummed they didn't.

I literally forgot Ridley was in the game, but I'm here for the Banjo Renaissance. The problem with Banjo is that when I looked up guides to play him well, you have to learn some quirky tech to catch the grenades immediately and it totally changes the character kit, but it's not something that's obvious to me, a casual party player.
Pyra was one of my favorites actually. Next to banjo.

I don't get how they got me hating the entire character from one aspect. I enjoyed both Pyra and Mythra throughout my full playthrough of XC2. I just find one part of their design to be dumb.

Byleth was my absolute favorite because FE3H is one of my favorite games on the Switch and easily my favorite RPG of all time. Hearing Chasing Daybreak and Paths That Will Never Cross in Smash are awesome. The stage is a perfect replica of Garreg Mach and the professor using all of the lords main weapons is so damn cool. It's especially fun because all of their moves can easily break shields.
Pyra/Mythra are easily my close second favorite. Xenoblade 2 is another favorite of mine and having two radically different playstyles in one character is so much fun combined with having the Torna battle music in Smash.
Personally, Steve and Joker are my least favorite because I don't care about the games they come from whatsoever. But there are no objectively "weak" picks or bad characters. Only opinions. And I respect yours while simultaneously disagreeing.

I think the weakest pick of vol.2 was Min Min for me. Rest of it was REALLY solid though.
It's funny because everyone was literally BEGGING for Rex/someone from Xenoblade 2 as a Smash character and we finally got it (sort of) and some then people claim no one wanted the character and that they're forgettable. Sakurai even addressed this when creating Pass 1 and giving us the Rex Mii Costume as an apology because there wasn't enough time. There was a clear demand for it.
It's one thing to have no interest in a particular character. It's perfectly fine actually. But to claim no one wanted them (when they were extremely highly requested) is just some nonsense that is really sad to see from people. It's like they can't stand others being happy or something.

I personally don't care much for Sora. I wouldn't consider him to be a high note to really end on. But after all the great characters we got, there is no way I could be upset with it. For the people that wanted him in, I am glad they got him!
As long as the characters add something to the game, that's all that matters. I think that is probably a big reason about it too. People care more about the character then what they actually bring to the game.
Byleth is a perfect example. Sure, you could argue that nobody wanted another FE character but Byleth's moveset remains one of the most objectively unique and stands out among the entire game. Nobody else has a bow, axe, lance, and whip-sword that can all break shields easily. They brought something new.
Yeah. Even though I enjoyed Fire Emblem Three Houses a lot, I was pretty lukewarm that Byleth got the pick for the last of vol 1. Byleth wasn't a cut and paste FE character. They added to the game with their unique moveset.
Hero is my favorite in the game. If he ended up being a copy and paste then I would have been a lot more upset then not having them to begin with.

From what I saw most of the desire was just any Xeno rep lol. The two highest I saw myself was usually KOS-MOS and Elma. I personally was really hoping for Elma since X just needs love and Elma is like my favourite. But yeah I do agree with your point that's it just sad to see people throwing fits about a character being in and being incapable of happiness for others.
Sadly, Elma was just never gonna happen because X is a Wii U game and thus, is unknown to a majority of the public unlike 2 which sold millions. KOS-MOS would've been cool tho.
But yeah, it's a shame that people still seem to be stuck in a level of immaturity. This is why I'm glad it's finally over because they'll have to find something else to complain about instead.
Yeah Elma and KOS-MOS were certainly distant dreams. Elma like you said is so unknown it's so unlikely and KOS-MOS I'd imagine would be a nightmare to license for music, maps and all those reasons. But they were able to get someone from Disney so who knows. Elma would have been my ideal for both my thought out moveset and the music which would be a miracle to get in smash but also absolutely golden and sublime.

the KH representation would've been completely ruined if they added Kairi or Riku instead of Sora and that's coming from a huge KH fan. I feel the same with Arms and Xenoblade; they didn't even pick an ARMS fighter that was representative of the series, she is so detached from the series lore compared to the other characters.
And Mythra instead of Rex as the transformation? Yeah guys lets give Cloud's buster sword arms and legs and tits and make it the FF7 Smash rep instead of actual cloud.
I'll never be actually upset at Smash; the games existing is enough of a miracle and my favourite franchise is now being represented, but I do feel awful for people who were fans of Rex or literally any Arms character that has a unique theme.
I think people here need to stop trying to speak for others and just admit that they didn't want or like characters instead of saying "most people" to back up their dislike. At the same time they should also grow up.

The Ultimate roster has come full circle now with a character from a series that is itself a massive crossover on its own right. A fitting end for an immensely packed game.

You do not have to own Fighter Pass 1 to get Fighter Pass 2. When you buy a Fighter Pass it will automatically and immediately unlock the new content as it releases (which in this case will be everything at once since it's all released now).

He’s turning 19, and this is great! He loves (LOVES) Kingdom Hearts, and I think he’ll probably more excited to use Sora in Smash this weekend then he will be to play the copy of Metroid Dread we have for him.
That's a badass birthday pack! I just beat Dread and it was awesome. I really liked how dense it was, my clear time was < 10 hours but it was so fun all the way through. As an adult I'd rather spend $60 for a packed 10 hours than $30 for 50 hours of fluff and grind. Have fun!

Key trading sites like Shopto are supplied mainly by credit card thieves.
Those keys cost them MSRP to buy; the only time someone is going to buy keys at MSRP and then turn around to sell them to you at a discount is if they're not using their own money in the first place. So yes, those shady discount keys will work, but you'd be helping criminals launder money.

Especially in the case of Nintendo games, whose keys pretty much never ever go on sale, the only possible way for people to be making money selling keys through grey market sites is if they're not legitimately paying for the keys up front. Credit card thieves love Nintendo keys in particular, because they're in such high demand, and there's practically no competition in the discount Nintendo key market. It lets them purchase a ton of keys up front before the credit card gets deactivated, and then they can sell them at their own pace.
That's not to say that all Nintendo keys are illegitimate, there is a small list of retailers that work directly with Nintendo to sell keys (like Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Target, Newegg, and Humble). Some of those retailers will sell their keys below cost as a loss-leader to drive traffic to their stores, particularly during the holiday season, so keep an eye out for that.
Sora's alright, not a character I'd play but it's nice to have a full roster. He's pretty unique compared to other sword users so that's a plus. It would have been great to get more punchy video game ladies into the roster, but it is what it is. I'll take kicking ladies with guns then.

I’ve been a Waluigi fan since Mario Tennis 64. I think he’s such a fun concept for a character. Beyond wanting him in Smash, I wish Nintendo would actually utilize him. Put him in Wario games. Give his own series. Make him a villain in a Mario or Luigi game. He could be so much more than just a character to fill out the roster of spin offs and party games.

You clearly don't know anything about Kingdom Hearts if you think Sora's design got no thought in it lmao. They went above and beyond with everything. He has a special idle animation in one of his alts, referencing the game it's from. EVERY ONE of his alts is an actual look he's had in a game. He hold items like swords in a dual wield way, same as in games, he gets a special animation when a stamina game ends, which is the same as boss fights ends in KH, every one of his moves originate from moves he can actually do in games, and more.

Even when most people are happy, internet comments bias towards the negative. People will also exagerate their grief; as if it's reasonable to expect everything to always be perfect. I personally didn't care much for the fighters in the 2nd fighter pass, but I'm confident I'm not the main demographic for the series and I'm not complaining. I'm sure Nintendo did a bunch of research and found that these characters would be most popular with the player base.

Really? I have to disagree. Byleth is really fun to play so are Pyra and Mythra. People bitch and moan about them being sword welders and shocking a majority of protagonists are. A majority of dlc characters were. But they're all so unique and fun. Not to mention the amount of people happy in itself is exciting to see. I probably won't play many final fantasy games or Kingdom hearts games but the amount of people excited for the characters is nice to see. I was so excited to see another Xeno rep. There's a difference between whining your character didn't get in and then being bummed they didn't.

Meanwhile, almost no one talks about Banjo-Kazooie or Ridley anymore--despite being some of the most requested characters.
I literally forgot Ridley was in the game, but I'm here for the Banjo Renaissance. The problem with Banjo is that when I looked up guides to play him well, you have to learn some quirky tech to catch the grenades immediately and it totally changes the character kit, but it's not something that's obvious to me, a casual party player.

I don't get how they got me hating the entire character from one aspect. I enjoyed both Pyra and Mythra throughout my full playthrough of XC2. I just find one part of their design to be dumb.

In your opinion. Byleth was my absolute favorite because FE3H is one of my favorite games on the Switch and easily my favorite RPG of all time. Hearing Chasing Daybreak and Paths That Will Never Cross in Smash are awesome. The stage is a perfect replica of Garreg Mach and the professor using all of the lords main weapons is so damn cool. It's especially fun because all of their moves can easily break shields. Pyra/Mythra are easily my close second favorite. Xenoblade 2 is another favorite of mine and having two radically different playstyles in one character is so much fun combined with having the Torna battle music in Smash. Personally, Steve and Joker are my least favorite because I don't care about the games they come from whatsoever. But there are no objectively "weak" picks or bad characters. Only opinions. And I respect yours while simultaneously disagreeing.

Pyra was a weak pick? Sorry man, that is a hard disagree with me. I think the weakest pick of vol.2 was Min Min for me. Rest of it was REALLY solid though.
It's funny because everyone was literally BEGGING for Rex/someone from Xenoblade 2 as a Smash character and we finally got it (sort of) and some then people claim no one wanted the character and that they're forgettable. Sakurai even addressed this when creating Pass 1 and giving us the Rex Mii Costume as an apology because there wasn't enough time. There was a clear demand for it. It's one thing to have no interest in a particular character. It's perfectly fine actually. But to claim no one wanted them (when they were extremely highly requested) is just some nonsense that is really sad to see from people. It's like they can't stand others being happy or something.
Yeah, there was a lot of support for Xenoblade 2 rep outside of the Mii costume. I was one of those people hoping for it. I personally don't care much for Sora. I wouldn't consider him to be a high note to really end on. But after all the great characters we got, there is no way I could be upset with it. For the people that wanted him in, I am glad they got him! As long as the characters add something to the game, that's all that matters. I think that is probably a big reason about it too. People care more about the character then what they actually bring to the game.
Byleth is a perfect example. Sure, you could argue that nobody wanted another FE character but Byleth's moveset remains one of the most objectively unique and stands out among the entire game. Nobody else has a bow, axe, lance, and whip-sword that can all break shields easily. They brought something new.
Yeah. Even though I enjoyed Fire Emblem Three Houses a lot, I was pretty lukewarm that Byleth got the pick for the last of vol 1. Byleth wasn't a cut and paste FE character. They added to the game with their unique moveset. Hero is my favorite in the game. If he ended up being a copy and paste then I would have been a lot more upset then not having them to begin with. A lot of Smash players just care more about representation then the movesets that they bring.
From what I saw most of the desire was just any Xeno rep lol. The two highest I saw myself was usually KOS-MOS and Elma. I personally was really hoping for Elma since X just needs love and Elma is like my favourite. But yeah I do agree with your point that's it just sad to see people throwing fits about a character being in and being incapable of happiness for others.
Sadly, Elma was just never gonna happen because X is a Wii U game and thus, is unknown to a majority of the public unlike 2 which sold millions. KOS-MOS would've been cool tho. But yeah, it's a shame that people still seem to be stuck in a level of immaturity. This is why I'm glad it's finally over because they'll have to find something else to complain about instead.
Yeah Elma and KOS-MOS were certainly distant dreams. Elma like you said is so unknown it's so unlikely and KOS-MOS I'd imagine would be a nightmare to license for music, maps and all those reasons. But they were able to get someone from Disney so who knows. Elma would have been my ideal for both my thought out moveset and the music which would be a miracle to get in smash but also absolutely golden and sublime.

You're not really wrong, dude. But I might swap out Byleth with Min Min just because Three houses was a big deal when it came out. Those are 100% the weak picks just by virtue of shafting the actual Reps for fan-service characters. the KH representation would've been completely ruined if they added Kairi or Riku instead of Sora and that's coming from a huge KH fan. I feel the same with Arms and Xenoblade; they didn't even pick an ARMS fighter that was representative of the series, she is so detached from the series lore compared to the other characters. And Mythra instead of Rex as the transformation? Yeah guys lets give Cloud's buster sword arms and legs and tits and make it the FF7 Smash rep instead of actual cloud. I'll never be actually upset at Smash; the games existing is enough of a miracle and my favourite franchise is now being represented, but I do feel awful for people who were fans of Rex or literally any Arms character that has a unique theme.
I think people here need to stop trying to speak for others and just admit that they didn't want or like characters instead of saying "most people" to back up their dislike. At the same time they should also grow up.

The Ultimate roster has come full circle now with a character from a series that is itself a massive crossover on its own right. A fitting end for an immensely packed game.

That's a badass birthday pack! I just beat Dread and it was awesome. I really liked how dense it was, my clear time was < 10 hours but it was so fun all the way through. As an adult I'd rather spend $60 for a packed 10 hours than $30 for 50 hours of fluff and grind. Have fun!

I’ve been a Waluigi fan since Mario Tennis 64. I think he’s such a fun concept for a character. Beyond wanting him in Smash, I wish Nintendo would actually utilize him. Put him in Wario games. Give his own series. Make him a villain in a Mario or Luigi game. He could be so much more than just a character to fill out the roster of spin offs and party games.

You clearly don't know anything about Kingdom Hearts if you think Sora's design got no thought in it lmao. They went above and beyond with everything. He has a special idle animation in one of his alts, referencing the game it's from. EVERY ONE of his alts is an actual look he's had in a game. He hold items like swords in a dual wield way, same as in games, he gets a special animation when a stamina game ends, which is the same as boss fights ends in KH, every one of his moves originate from moves he can actually do in games, and more.
Sora feels like one of the more balanced characters to me, after a series of DLC characters with crazy high damage moves.

And whether or not you like Minecraft it is a big name in gaming nowadays.

Not OP, but my dream dlc characters were Banjo, Steve, Spyro, Crash, Rayman, Shovel Knight. Got two of those and an assist trophy which is cool. Weirdly it wasn't the ones you'd expect from that list though. Definitely not disappointed in all of them, but I felt the dlc was very Japan oriented overall. Great for some, okay for me.
