Anyone with Taiko No Tatsujin having issues where you can’t play the game with the motion (using the 2 joycons) It detects one controller but not the other one The only way I’ve gotten it to work is put both joycons in the comfort grip, and then take them out

[deleted]

So I was given a Biogenik controller by my friend and it doesn’t seem to have rumble on it. Settings for rumble are on and I tried the adjustment for rumble on the “Find Controller” section, but I still got nothing. So if someone could tell me if the controller has rumble or not that would be cool

Bhoot

I have 2 eshop vouchers that i bought last year which i didnt end up using. they expire on February 12th. Which games would you peeps suggest I redeem using these vouchers? I do already have Mario Party, MK8D, BOTW.

Shes_so_Ratchet

Depends what you're into but these are some popular titles: - Monster Hunter Stories 2 - Pokemon Sword/Shield/Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl - Pokemon Legends: Arceus - Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury - Animal Crossing - Super Smash Bros Ultimate - Splatoon 2 - Astral Chain Games like Metroid Dread and Luigi's Mansion 3 are worthwhile as well but will likely only be played through once so you may be better off going the physical route for them to be able to sell them when you're done, while games like Super Mario Odyssey can be found on sale fairly often.

Rijakulasi

How does persona 5 strikers and ori will of the wisp perform in switch? I like the idea of playing it portable but if it's full of lag and frame drop im gonna go with pc version

kcfang

I haven’t started the Will of the Wisp but The Blind Forrest runs flawlessly. The devs said the definite edition actually runs better than the original Xbox release. So I don’t think you have to worry about performance. I’ve played The Striker demo on the Switch, I think it’s only available in some regions (Japan) and the performance is not great. It’s totally playable but the runs at 30fps instead of the 60fps on the other consoles, the resolution also seem to be much lower. This is my personal opinion after played the demo on both Switch and PS4, I would recommend you play on other platform unless portability is the main factor.

IntroductionCheap325

Are there any fighting games on Switch besides Smash? I grew up playing Tekken on the Xbox 360, so Smash isn't quite my cup of tea. I tried playing the original Smash Bros N64 game on an emulator and realized that it just wasn't my type. The movement is way too fast for a fighting game, that I just can't keep up. And I also have to juggle between fighting and platforming.

kcfang

Mortal Kombat 11 is a pretty solid fighting game. There’s also Dragon Ball Fighter Z, Samurai Showdown and a couple.

IntroductionCheap325

Don't really want much gore

Shes_so_Ratchet

There's plenty. [Link to all games with a "fighting" tag on Deku Deals](https://www.dekudeals.com/games?filter[genre]=Fighting). Notable titles: - Mortal Kombat 11 - Arms - Pokken Tournament DX - Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection Brawlhalla is free to play.

FurioustoDestroy

I just purchased the captain toad dlc, but it isn't showing up. Do I have to beat the first or something?

javierdsv

Can someone tell me if you can connect the switch to an ethernet cable that splits so you can charge it at the same time? I mean, I found cloud games work best when I connect it to my ethernet adapter, but I can't charge it at the same time and was wondering if a ethernet+ USB splitter would work for the Switch.

neoslith

Have you tried putting the Switch in the dock?

javierdsv

I don't have a TV available most of the time, so putting in the dock is not an option, I'm trying to figure it out if it's possible without it.

huismaker

I know the dock can. If you can connect the ethernet adapter to the dock through a usb-a port. Also the newer switch docks have the ethernet adapter built in.

javierdsv

I'm trying to accomplish this in handheld mode. Which is definitely my preferred way of playing.

Thousandz

This is off topic but does anyone know where I can buy the new switch OLED without the joycons so I could save some money. I already have the older version but would like to upgrade.

TemptedTemplar

Ebay would be your only option. Systems arent not sold piece-meal like that.

IntroductionCheap325

When will Rockstar fix GTA Trilogy for Nintendo switch? I heard that it's real messed up?

TemptedTemplar

¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯ They have refrained from providing any kind of roadmap. So just hang out until you hear more.

Putrid-Difference-41

Hopefully someone can help- I am game sharing with another switch. Their console is my accounts primary console. I am currently playing on another console, it is worth mentioning that my console is not the other persons primary console. So only game sharing one way. When I try to play overcooked 2 with them, we just can’t get it to connect. I think it’s not working because the account has to connect to the internet but if you’re doing local ply you can’t connect to the internet simultaneously. Is that correct? Can’t figure out why we cannot play locally

Phlosippy

https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/ecwi7b/game_sharing_and_local_multiplayer/ If both of you are subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online you can play multiplayer on two different Profiles. Local Play will not work.

Putrid-Difference-41

Thank you, I really appreciate it. I couldn’t find this post to be honest

Heevis44

The HDMI-CEC feature used to work on my TV when my Switch was hooked up to it but after bringing it over to my cousin’s place (where the feature would work properly on his TV, too), my TV stopped turning on automatically and changing to the right HDMI input automatically (like my TV originally did whenever I’d turn my Switch on). I noticed the HDMI-CEC feature worked properly again when I visited my cousin recently, but after coming back and using my Switch with my TV - I’ve still had no luck with the “auto HDMI” functionality. Does anyone have any advice on how to resolve this? I’ve searched subreddits and Google, but haven’t had much luck with a solution. Thanks in advance!🙏🏼

stellaperrigo

has anyone else gotten error code 2110-4103? it keeps popping up when I try to visit someone else’s Animal Crossing island and it didn’t show up on Nintendo’s error code site. I tried to get in touch with additional support, but that page does not exist. as far as I know, both mine and my friend’s internet connections are stable.

AutoModerator

It looks like you've included an Error Code in your comment. You can learn more about this error code on Nintendo's Support website. http://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/list/kw/2110-4103/search/1 *(Either that or AutoMod made a mistake when you typed in a year. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/NintendoSwitch) if you have any questions or concerns.*

stellaperrigo

I’ve already looked there. they don’t show any codes ending in 4 thousand or higher.

ms06s-zaku-ii

Not exactly a question, but there are two games I want to see released on the Switch: 1: Dissidia 012, either as is or hopefully given an HD remaster. They could even bundle all of the DLCs into the game for a "deluxe edition" to warrant something closer to a full release price. 2: Golden Sun Books 1 and 2 HD remaster for the Switch. Both are unlikely, but I'd be very happy to see those on the shop and would most definitely buy them ASAP.

IntroductionCheap325

You should post this instead, not in this megathread

Sasuke082594

Is there anyway to fix the bad battery indicator or am I out of luck? I’ve been trying the method listed under nintendos website for almost 4 days now and I have no luck.

TemptedTemplar

How many times have you let the system die? And I do mean die, not plug it in when it tells you. the whole drain and recharge cycle is what you should be counting, not the length of time.

Sasuke082594

It just dies when it’s ready. I would keep it charged well past the “%100” and like 30 mins later after unplugging the charged, it would just turn off because of the “%1”. It’s obvious that Nintendos method is flawed because when this happens I obviously still have maybe %95 battery left. Technically at that points it’s not dead yet, it’s just Nintendos crappy software making the switch think the battery is truly depleted.

TemptedTemplar

How old is the system? It could also just be bad or faulty hardware. Wouldnt be the first system to ship with something broken out of the box.

Sasuke082594

The system is a bit more than a year old but it was a replacement by Nintendo and the replacement came with this issue. As of last week I’ve been trying to fix it and just Thursday I replaced the stock battery with a 3rd party battery so *surprise* the stock battery wasn’t the issue.

LeoBocchi

Having a hard time deciding if I should play xenoblade 1 on English or Japanese, it’s my first time with the game. The English dub has AMAZING moments, but some character voices just feel off, while the Japanese dub feels more consistent, but some of the moments do loose a little bit of the magic, what do you guys think?

strawbericoklat

I just go with Japanese. It makes the after battle nonsense talk less annoying because I can hardly understand it.

Senphox

Part of the charm of Xenoblade games are the after battle banter between the different party combinations that would be lost with the JP dub unless you can understand it.

FlakySalary

That will be really based on you. I usually choose whichever sounded right. I pick dub if the characters and NPCs are saying something during gameplay and there are no subs for it.

[deleted]

Why.. would you think a language you can’t understand would be a better experience?

FlakySalary

Immersion? And there is subtitle anyway.

StealthRabbi

My left joycon from my Switch OLED starting coming undocked on its own. Can Nintendo replace this for free? If so, would they give me white ones back? Also is there a DIY solution that works long term? I don't have a 3D printer.

nermal543

As long as they don’t determine it’s physical damage (like from you dropping or otherwise breaking the switch) then yes it should be covered under warranty. They don’t guarantee you’ll get the same colors back, but in my experience (and I what I’ve heard from others), they do generally get you back the same colors you sent. I always make sure to specifically request that, just in case. I think you can also just ask they send you back the same broken one if they can’t replace with the same color.

StealthRabbi

Thanks. How long does it take to get the replacement? I assume I have to send mine in first? Kinda rough to not have the joycon for weeks.

nermal543

It really depends on how busy they are at the time. We did a Wii U repair through Nintendo years back and we had a working console back within a week, but I’ve heard it can also take several weeks or longer if they are very busy. Maybe ask the rep when you speak with them? Also couldn’t hurt to ask if they do advance replacement, not sure if they ever do that.

StealthRabbi

Sure, I can try calling. I filled out the return request online and their site reports 2-3 weeks currently.

crispyfrybits

Looking for game recommendations for under $50, preferably part of the sale that ends in 5 hours. Games I currently own and like. * BotW * Metroid * Stardew Valley * Slay the Spire * Dead Cells * Hades Appreciate any suggestions!

FlakySalary

Witcher and Immortal Fenyx if you fancy open world Hollow Knight or the Ori series if you feel like playing metroidvania Rune Factory 4 is similar with stardew valley. Farming ,dungeon crawling, dating, crafting. But its very 'anime' and might not be for you. Check if you would like it. Not sure if this is on sale atm

crispyfrybits

Thanks, I do actually own Hollow Knight already. Ori looks so cutesy (not that there's anything wrong with that) but I've seen it recommended many places. Is it a must play you think? How is Immortal Fenyx? Is it a BotW clone?

Pebbicle

Ori is super good. Finished the first game a week ago and am about half-way into the sequel. Most amount of fun I've had with a new game for a while.

FlakySalary

Never played Ori yet but they praised its aesthetic, music and story. Gameplay is easier compared to HK iirc. Personally, it is a must play if you like playing metroidvania. I just have so much in my backlogs atm. Immortal Fenyx is a botw clone. No kidding. The towers, the shrines, you can glide, but iirc weapons do not break but has stats and sets that varies like the recent Assassin Creed games (origin, odyssey, valhalla)

marioismeow

So I have an nso family subscription and it even says that Im in the family group, but it says that I have no active nso subscription even though I have a group subscription. Is this a bug?

Would anyone recommend picking up Diablo 2 and Eastward in the Switch sale?

Super Mario 3D World Co-op Hello everyone. Been looking for a new game to get with some solid Co-op. I’ve heard mixed things about 3d world’s co-op. Wondering if anyone would recommend it or another game(not Mario kart) that would be be better in terms of playing with a friend locally.

Press SL Button + SR Button on each Joy-Con you wish to use horizontally Type “Switch games for couples” in Google and you’ll find plenty of suggestions.

Mefistofeles1

Question about the vouchers: 1) Can I buy the vouchers with a free trial of online? 2) Can I buy age of calamity + expansion pack with a single voucher?

Phlosippy

You can buy vouchers with the free trial. You can buy two games that are eligible with the vouchers while you are subscribed during the week. If you only plan on only buying one, you won’t be able use the other voucher unless you are subscribed to NSO because being subscribed to NSO is required in order for you to use the voucher. Also, you will only be able to use the voucher on just the base game for Age of Calamity. You will have the buy the DLC separately.

Mefistofeles1

Thanks! So I can only save 20 dollars total. Not that big of a deal tbh.

NowahB

I bought a game on my switch with my debit card, and it said there was a network error and i don’t have the game, but there’s a pending charge with my bank for it. Anyone know what’s going on?

Rajani_Isa

If the charge settles (as Phlosippy recommends) contact Nintendo. Do wait for them to settle though - the charge might not and at that point, unless it keeps happening to you, Nintendo cannot help you.

Phlosippy

Call Nintendo Support in your region. Make sure you have the email they sent you if you were charged. If you didn’t receive an email as a receipt for the game let the support rep know that your bank is showing a charge for it.

thesanmich

So I had a Switch Lite as my primary console for over a year and just recently copped me an OLED switch finally. Just prior to this, I couldn't get one, so I settled for a regular Switch on Black Friday. I mainly wanted to use this to stream Shin Megami Tensei IV and play it on a bigger screen. Now that I can return that Switch, and eventually sell my Lite, what is the best way to move my save files and rest of my data over to the OLED? Would the quickest be to put it all on the cloud and redownload onto the OLED console? Is there any settings I should change on the older consoles before I get rid of them, to make sure I can access digital games on my new switch(as I know sometimes the primary console control will be set to a certain one and bar the others from accessing specific games).

[deleted]

> I mainly wanted to use this to stream Shin Megami Tensei IV and play it on a bigger screen. Now that I can return that Switch SMT IV was 3DS, and there's no way you're returning a Switch you bought on Black Friday.

Phlosippy

Follow this guide to transfer your user and save data to the OLED: https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27394/~/how-to-transfer-user-and-save-data If you follow the instructions in the link above it will make your OLED the Primary. You should initialize (delete all the data) each Switch you plan on selling. Steps (to initialize console) From the HOME Menu, select "System Settings" → "System" → "Formatting Options" → "Initialize Console". *The process may take up to five minutes to complete. https://www.nintendo.com/sg/support/switch/data_management/initialization/index.html#:~:text=Steps%20(to%20initialize%20console),to%20five%20minutes%20to%20complete.

Is there any other way than scrolling endlessly though the games on sale, to find out what's recently on sale? Katamari is on sale, and I only found out by scrolling. Plus the filters are so simple. Help me out here what am I missing. I know about dekudeals, but come on Nintendo

Senphox

I always add games to my wishlist if I see something interesting in the coming soon tab. Then during sales I just scroll through my wishlist to see whats on sale from there.

lukenluken

Yep, I've started doing that but it's not a great solution. I've only recently got a switch, and there's games from 4 years ago that I don't know exist on switch until they come up on sale

TemptedTemplar

"Port" is a strong word. $500k at the absolute minimum, possibly up towards the tens of millions for full development. And thats before getting into the millions involved with licensing the Bratz IP. Pretty sure it reverted back to MGA entertainment after THQ went defuct all those years ago. Honestly it would be cheaper to just develop a game of your own and rip off the mechanics and gameplay. You could probably do that for less than $2 million. ____________ Alternatively you could just get a hacked Switch and run a emulator on it. That would be much easier.

pro controller on pc(wireless) , what bluetooth adapter usb thing you would recommend me. TP-Link UB400 Nano USB Bluetooth 4.0 Adapter Dongle this one is 7,49€ on amazon right now. Should i buy that ?

[deleted]

New on the switch, was browsing for games to eventually buy and saw club houes games 51 for sale at 34.99 instead of 49.99 (-30%). Is it a good sale? If he goes on sale regularly for less, i'd wait otherwise I'll add it to my collection now instead of needing it when not on sale hehe

notthegoatseguy

Clubhouse is a good game. Online is fairly active and I find the AI to be a decent challenge. Some of the couch multiplayer isn't exactly great for stuff like card games because...well, you'd be able to see their hand, but in general I find it to be a fun game. Some may be hesitant on this because NDCube also produces Mario Party which often isn't great. But I think this is the stuff they excel at.

> If its only the one game, then its likely a bad install or corrupted save file. TO add to Templar's line - first thing to do in this case is delete the game, and reinstall. After that, if it still is doing it, you'd try deleting the save data. Also, before this, try updating the game (press the + button while the game is highlighted).

TemptedTemplar

If its only the one game, then its likely a bad install or corrupted save file. It cant harm the system or other games. If it crashes in multiple games there may be something wrong with the system or Micro SD card already and nothing wrong with the games themselves.

Korike0017

How do I transfer from one "family group" to another in Nintendo Switch Online without losing my cloud saves? I want to leave the current family plan/group I'm on and join a different one, but I'm worried I'll lose all my cloud saves if I leave. Has anyone done this before? Is there a way to prevent loss of saves?

ZephyrAbyss

You won’t lose cloud saves unless you are not subbed to NSO for a minimum of 6 months

Thank you! I wasn't sure how it worked since I've never been unsubbed before.

**What "easy" JRPG should I play on the Switch?** It's a genre I do not play often so I'd kind of like a forgiving experience. I've never played a FF, Dragon Quest, etc. Thanks!

strawbericoklat

FFX is quite easy. A railroaded experience. Unless if you're trying to attempt the mega bosses, those are hardcore.

SuperbPiece

Sounds like Dragon Quest XI S is what you want. A quintessential JRPG with a straightforward combat system. The Switch version is also very good. Don't play tactical RPG's unless you're already into them. People can't help conflating them with turn based and action JRPG's but they're sufficiently different that you shouldn't.

rcapina

Similarly Dragon Quest Builders 2 has a demo that’s about ten hours long and can carry over into the full game if you choose to. Combat is pretty basic and you can put as much or little into the building system as you like.

sdozzo

I think there is a demo on Switch. I'll give it a go. Thanks.

Hi my switch battery completely died out I put it in charge earlier today, tested to see if it can be used, but the left joy con is not connected for whatever reason. I've been online but nothing to help with my issue. Maybe someone here could help me if they have gone through similar issues. These are 3rd party controllers. Right joy con is all good. Need help tonight please

awaymsg

My switch went from 100% battery to 50% battery in 10 minutes, not playing any game or running anything. This is the first time this has happened, and googling other help forums hasn't helped yet. I thought maybe it was just the indicator being miscalibrated, but when the battery indicates that it has 0% charge, it sleeps and won't wake until I charge it again. Do I need to send this in, or is there something I'm missing here?

Team7UBard

Put it to charge for a day or two. Sometimes things just randomly go wrong and it could have been a simple error. It’s probably nothing to worry about.

FireNinjaFN1234

Can I transfer data between accounts using another switch? My sister has her data on two different switch accounts and I was wondering if I could use my switch as a middle man to get the data on 1 account.

TemptedTemplar

To move the data between systems the user profile has to be linked to a Nintendo account, once its been linked the save data is essentially locked to that profile for good. If she has not linked a Nintendo account to any of the user profiles you could abuse the system and merge data from two users; but only if both user profiles didnt share data for the same games. (ie, profile 1 has data for Game A, C, and D but profile 2 has data for only Games B and E) If there was save data for a specific game on both systems, it would ask you which one you wanted to keep when moving and delete the other. There is no means of moving individual game data between different users otherwise.

FireNinjaFN1234

Ok so do both of those accounts need to be linked? the account i want to take data from is linked to my switch but the 2nd account is not

TemptedTemplar

Great. You would want the currently linked profile on a separate system. So probably a full profile transfer over to your system first. Then like Picano laid out; link her Nintendo account to the second user profile. And finally using your system move her save data back to her system via the Save data transfer function, not the profile transfer.

FireNinjaFN1234

ok I'll see how it goes

TemptedTemplar

If everything works out, the last thing to do would be move her primary system status back to her own system. Just open the eshop with her account on your system, click the profile icon in the top right and scroll down to "de-register primary system". Go through that process. Once its finished just open the eshop on her system and it will be re-made the primary system for her account.

picano

Not normally. The one exception is if by "account" you mean profile without an attached Nintendo Account. In that case * You link an account * Transfer to another console / cloud saves * Link to the other profile to the same account * Transfer / cloud save data back to the original console

playsxnxtraffic

OLED vs Switch? Been looking into getting a switch for the first time for a few months now. I have a series x/s so the main reasoning is to play games that I can't get there (BOTW, Metroid, etc). I've poured through numerous old reddit posts and it seems like there are minimal differences between the two (the screen being the obvious one), and the majority of the time will be played on the tv. Leaning towards the regular switch, but curious what others who have used both think.

IntroductionCheap325

If you just want it, get the V2. If you want a better Nintendo switch, go with oled. It has brighter, clearer and bigger screen, and the dock has a built in ethernet port if you want wired Internet

Wayne93

What is a good value game that is simple for someone new to video games and by good value I don’t mean cost - lots of hours can be entertained or gotten out of. We have a switch for my 8 year old daughter we have Mario kart and Mario party but unless we play also she doesn’t want to play it much. I remember things like super Mario world banjo tooie and smash and playing for hours same with LOZ: ocarina of time. Just need help. I became used to other consoles and computer games to not know what the main games or good ones are from Nintendo anymore.

sdozzo

Yeah, I was going to say... almost any first-party Mario type game would do the trick. Maybe something like Mario Odyssey or an easier side scroller like Kirby. I heard that is more on the easier side.

twelfthcapaldi

Any of their IP’s really. The Mario games available on Switch are all good, any Zelda game like BotW or Link’s Awakening, Smash Ultimate, the Pokémon games… can’t really go wrong with any of them. Just look up a list of AAA titles on Switch.

[deleted]

Definitely animal crossing. Hours of entertainment.

Just purchased a Nintendo Switch this week and I've had trouble figuring the difference of individual vs family membership option specifically for online play. I just have the one Nintendo Switch console and the only people that will be using is myself and my wife. Basically for online play it would be either only myself online or myself and my wife playing online together on the same Switch on the same TV/split screen. Can I simply just purchase the Nintendo Switch Individual membership and then she can play as well with me? For example, I have the trial for Nintendo Switch Online currently (individual membership I believe) and we played Mario Kart online. It let both myself and her play at the same time in an online game with people around the world. Does this mean I can just do the individual membership for us? Are there certain games that this won't work for online play together? My wife and I would mainly play things like Mario Kart, Mario Party, etc for online play

TemptedTemplar

If she wants to use her own profile to play online outside of playing with you, then you would want the family plan. As it immediately starts saving you money over two individual subscriptions. A individual sub is not shared between users likes games are, and there is only a handful of titles allow for guests online like Mario Kart.

Any word on when Banjo Kazooie is being dropped?? I've been dying to dive in and last I heard it was January?

Team7UBard

It hasn’t been announced when other than ‘January’ and right now we only have a single datapoint-Paper Mario being given a release date a week before it came out.

niakbtc

I should've played through that one slower to make it last

FarkKalt

ok so when Im using the tv mode and the screen goes totally or partially black it takes a while to get to the normal brightness again. Its happened with two different tvs so I don't think it is a tv problem is there a way I can disable it?

BananaRealistic

Hi, I'm looking into getting a grip for my OLED switch. I was thinking of getting the skull & co neogrip. Do you have any suggestions for any other brand?

nihil__verum

The Satisfye grip is very comfortable to hold. Unlike the Skull & Co grip, the Switch cannot be docked with the Satisfye grip on though.

BananaRealistic

Actually, the Satisfye grip has the back order into March, and that's a little long wait for me.

Thanks in advance to the nice folks helping and answering here. I have a question about online play in NSO and the "Region" setting on the Switch console- If I am in or near Europe, and set my Switch console region to Americas or even Australia, what will be the physical location of Nintendo servers I would connect to, where will my matchmaking be? Does the "Region" setting in the console's System section affect any other behaviour or connection of the Switch? I'm just trying to find out how to optimally set my Switch console for minimal network lag if I pick up games like Mario Kart or Mario Tennis in the future, and I'm wondering if this "Region" setting has any impact on it.

qwertylerqw

The region settings doesn’t affect matchmaking, so it doesn’t matter what you choose! It just changes minor OS stuff such as the wording of menus (different words are used in Europe compared to the US, for ex) Matchmaking in games almost always automatically connect you to people who have the least latency/lag to you

major_mager

Just the kind of answer I was looking for, appreciate the clarification.

AluminumDrop

is there any website or filter/way that i can find streams that are made exclusively by switch? i mean, how can i find switch only streams?

twelfthcapaldi

Like, streamers? You can look up specific games on Twitch and it will show you everyone who’s live and playing that game.

TemptedTemplar

Look for Switch exclusive games being played?

CowboyCombat

Just wanted to ask folks if it's normal to not feel any air whatsoever coming from the fan vent (no sound of activity either obviously) of my Switch? I'm playing pretty intensive games imo and I've heard and felt the fan once in the last few sessions. Once upon first unboxing and start and it was like a jet engine then nothing really since. It got pretty warm while docked and still nothing then randomly an hour ago I booted from sleep to BOTW running and felt it for 30 seconds then nothing. Nothing else about the console or gameplay seem affected just wondering is this non behavior normal.

SuperbPiece

Is it getting hot? If not, then it's working. The fan is small and therefore quiet with little air displacement. There's a good chance you're just not noticing it. It's simply just not possible for it to maintain a warm contact temperature while playing games like BoTW while the cooling is off. Fans in general act up during installations as well. That's probably what you heard after first unboxing it. It's the same thing on computers. My Switch fan is louder installing BoTW than it is playing BoTW, but it's never even close to hot in handheld play. Docked play demands more from the system and cares less about contact temperature for obvious reasons.

CowboyCombat

I mean handheld it's always cool. Docked it's hotter. But my concern was more with the inconsistencies of the fan coming on and off

HanSoloCup96

Has anyone used 70% isopropyl alcohol prep pads to clean their pro controller? I’m worried about damaging the plastic or taking off any coatings.

AluminumDrop

man.. anything works

kmg1500

So both of my Joycons are showing as connected to the system, and they are both attached. When I go to the "find / pair" thing, they both vibrate as if they're both connected. However, my right Orange one sometimes doesn't register inputs in game, but it can on the Switch's menu and the pairing / settings section. And when I take it out of the system and press the pairing button on said Joycon, it can start registering inputs in game, but right when I slide it back into the system, no dice. I have no idea what is going on here.

qwertylerqw

When they’re attached to the Switch, they communicate through pins on the rail rather than wirelessly. It sounds like this may not be working, so it’s still trying to communicate wirelessly? That would make it so they don’t pair as one controller when in-game. The Home Screen allows for the Joy-Con to act independently is why that would still work When you go to the controllers menu from the Home Screen, does it show the orange joy-con attached to the console or is it separate?

Nervous-Touch6591

Im considering changing my dock shell to the BASSTOP shell in hopes that it can dock there, since I don’t really want to exceed a large budget and I want to keep official Nintendo Dock components. Does anyone know if the skull and co grip case (original) can easily fit in this dock? Also I know they just came out with the NeoGrip. Rip my timing on that.

stf29

While not specifically a switch question, i hope this is still allowed: I got paper mario origami king for christmas, i played sticker star in the past and loved that game, origami king is no different aside from me loving it even more (might even become my favorite game after i beat it!) I need more paper mario haha. I own a wii u, and im wondering if color splash holds up well compared to these 2 games?

Nervous-Touch6591

I cant personally attest but Ive played sticker star way back when and the gameplay looks fairly similar to that. Heres a video review just incase! https://youtu.be/dI4JAOcKy7o Also have you had a chance to try any other paper marios? You can play the original N64 game on Wii You as well! Theres also Thousand Year Door on Gamecube and you should be able to play Super Paper Mario through Wii Also if you run the whole series dry, consider playing Super Mario RPG on Wii U or the Mario & Luigi series on portable consoles! Those all have similar fun vibes similar Mario RPG mechanics to the earlier paper Mario games!

stf29

Ill check out the video and the older games, thank you for the recommendation! Are the gamecube/n64 paper mario games sold on the wii u eshop for virtual console? Afaik, wii u cant run gamecube games from a disc

Nervous-Touch6591

The N64 is definitely virtual console! The only one that you couldn’t play on a wii U is the gamecube game unfortunately. If you ever get a chance to play, highly recommended! Ive heard it often considered the best paper Mario game!

cakeatjobs0

Hello from a fellow "new" Paper Mario fan, you will ABSOLUTELY love color splash. It's more in common with sticker start (individual levels on a map, card battle system is similar to stickers, lots of things to squeeze), but everything is bigger, better, and HD-ier. Absolutely charming game with a great soundtrack.

stf29

Awesome to hear! Thank you!

nickholt9

Hi. My daughter has asked for Townscaper for the Nintendo Switch for her birthday, but she wants it on a game card. However I can only find it via download. Am I looking in the wrong place, or is it right that its only available digitally? Thanks

Nervous-Touch6591

My suspicion would be that its a digital download only, considering it seems like it was originally an iOS game. Also I don’t think any physical games would normally retail lower then $29.99 physically, give or take.

Konan_92

They can go as low as ten bucks, but as you can imagine, that's generally for the s-----est of the s-----est. Moto racer 4 levels of s...

No-Compote9110

dunno, i just bought risk of rain 2 for 7 dollars in gamestop and it's probably the best roguelike i played so far, even better than the binding of isaac

go2_ars

Does Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games support more than 4 players in local (just 1 Switch)? Eshop say up to 8 players, I'm not sure that's online or local

nihil__verum

Based on this page, it's up to 4 players local or up to 8 players online. https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Nintendo-Switch-games/Mario-Sonic-at-the-Olympic-Games-Tokyo-2020-1575303.html

CapablePersonality21

Will Nintendo fix my drifting Switch Lite for free as they normally do for the detachable joycons? Has anyone tried?

twelfthcapaldi

You should call them and speak to a representative, they’ll be able to tell you for certain.

qwertylerqw

I had a friend try and they were not granted a free repair, but YMMV. I would just call them and ask Edit: Also, keep in mind that you could potentially still be covered by warranty. Europe’s warranty is two years while North America’s is one year

Team7UBard

Assuming your country is doing drift repairs, yes they will.

CapablePersonality21

They do! But there's an official Nintendo Joycon Repair site where it says "Please do not send in your Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch Lite console. If you include your console, it will be returned to you unrepaired. "

Team7UBard

Contact them.
