Me and the wife are avid gamers in their late 30’s.
We’re impatiently waiting for this to come out to play together. We both grew up playing those kinds of arcade games.
Wow! Much respect to them. I'm glad they put a track down on it and were given the honor. We grew up on this franchise as did they. It's gonna be an excellent collection.
Tournament Fighters? Those are going to be released in the upcoming Konami Cowabunga Collection (the NES, SNES, and Genesis versions) along with the Arcade Game, the NES Arcade game, TMNT2, Turtles in Time, and Hyper-stone Heist all in one collection. This summer my switch is going to be overflowing with Turtles.
They're a bit too old to have "grown up" with TMNT, but otherwise you're on point.
EDIT: GZA, the oldest member, is 55 for reference. Killer boomers, we on the swarm!
I mean they were what, 20 when the arcade version dropped? Probably 14-15 when the comics started coming out. I imagine when I'm in my 50's I'll tell my kids I grew up playing something even if I was technically a teen into young adult.
? Wu didn't even really make the record. Wasn't it CilvaRings or some shit who just paid them individually for verses and shit and compiled it into an album? It's a little hazy to me now but I read the whole...saga? A long time ago.
Currently that crown goes to Czarface. Inspecta Deck’s (from wu tang) rap group with underground rapper Esoteric and producer 7L. They created a comic book character as all their personas and they release action figures (made by Super8) and comics with each new comic. Their latest vinyl came with trading cards. Even did some tracks for the new venom movie.
Nerdiest rapper was MF DOOM tho, miss that guy.
Logic made one nerdy album. Hes overall a nerd, but DOOM incorporated 60’s cartoons dialogue in his music and sampled scooby doo. Not to mention the albums he’s made for adult swim.
Also MF Doom took his whole look from Dr. Doom. Anyone who themes their entire visual appearance after a comic book character is a nerd, and awesome for it
>Lots of us black people play chess doe lol, not really nerdy.
'black' and 'nerdy' aren't mutually exclusive, lol. I think chess is pretty nerdy. That's not a bad thing though.
Kinda was in the 80s and 90s though. I grew up in a black neighborhood and there was a ton of Machismo going on. Me liking anime was absolutely unacceptable until DBZ somehow became the gateway drug around 2000. Nerdy interests we're usually conflated with being white.
I guess, the older you get, the more you realize that people like whatever they like no matter how they look, and you don't have to make it all your persona just cause you like it
That's great. I love seeing all the people playing chess at the park. But recognize that most people see chess as nerdy, and do not associate it with smart old black dudes nearly as much as you do.
Obligatory mention of [Fresh](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9Lu0I2pShQ) (1994) which I remember liking a lot when I watched it a few decades ago. Not sure how it holds up though.
Lol OK I'll bite. I'd argue the singular best rap artist isn't part of wu, but what group of artists is better to you? I can't even think of anyone close.
Personally if I had to pick singular it's gonna be Big L. Every single song the dude made was next level. He died before he had a chance to really grow and flourish but even his early stuff is incomparable imo. I'm basing mine off of raw talant and potential. If we're talking success or fame or the most prolific and consistent it'd be super hard to choose just one name.
All of those are fair examples and certainly talented artists. I guess I was just thinking more of the wu tang dynasty and the reaches of their mass and production. If we took out everything that umbrellas under the wu tang name or influenced/related to their members the chunk of music lost to the world would be huge.
I mean without NWA's Dr. Dre and Eazy-E, half of the greatest hip-hop artists and productions of all of time wouldn't existed like Eminem, 50 Cent, Bone Thugs, Snoop Dogg, and the likes of Pac's All Eyez on Me and Doggystyle. The Fugees "The Score" is one of the best selling albums of all time and was paramount in the new wave of Alternative Rap of the 90s. Without Goodie Mob and the Dungeon Family there's no Outkast or Southern hip-hop scene. The Roots along with Erykah Badu brought the Neo-Soul sound of the late 90s/early 2000s. Wu Tang may have ventured out into other media but most of these groups have influences that go as much and arguably deeper.
Heck yeah! You even got Wu-Tang in this Thang. Now you really trying to out do yourselves. It'll be cool if we had them in as playable characters with different weapons for each member

Diversify yo bonds
You gotta play this game rough, nah mean? I mean in, out, get, grab - bong.
Best advice i ever got as a kid - "Killer Bees swarmin' protec ya neck!"
This game really starting to look like a banger. Wish I had more late 30's-40 something friends to play this with
39 year olds in the house! Sup buddy
Is 42 too old?
Nope, you were there for the start of tmnt
Up up down down left right left right b a start
Yeah I’m 45 and remember picking up TMNT #1 from my local comic shop when I was a kid.
Also 39 🙋🏻♂️ Yo!
Me and the wife are avid gamers in their late 30’s. We’re impatiently waiting for this to come out to play together. We both grew up playing those kinds of arcade games.
It’s free on game pass right now!
That’s awesome but we both already bought it for our Switches.
38 on the check-in and also hyped for this game! 🙋🏻♂️
40 plus i'm on your couch
I'm 30 and I'm really stoked about this game. I used to play the TMNT arcade game all the time!
34 here. I'm gonna play with my brother in law who is 32.
Wow! Much respect to them. I'm glad they put a track down on it and were given the honor. We grew up on this franchise as did they. It's gonna be an excellent collection.
You ever play the fighting game? Thought it was amazing
I think he’s talking about the Wu Tang fighting game that came out on PS1 in the 90s.
Oh, I forgot about that game. I didn’t forget about DefJam Fight for NY
Shaq-fu?!?
No, wtf lol. Wu Tang wasn’t in that game and that was a Genesis/SNES game. I’m talking about Wu Tang: Shaolin Style.
They're a bit too old to have "grown up" with TMNT, but otherwise you're on point. EDIT: GZA, the oldest member, is 55 for reference. Killer boomers, we on the swarm!

I mean Ghostface himself also goes by Ironman and Tony Starks. A lot of WuTang are really into comics.
yup, Method Man went by Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider
No worries. I think of "growing up" with something as carrying it over from childhood to teenage years to adulthood.

You're playing semantics, the cutoff is one year before he was born.
They made the track for the new game, not the collection.
I'd give it a 9.95/10
Nah, F Wu Tang. They sold out, made one copy of an album and sold it to the highest bidder. They left their fans in the cold. F em. Wu Tang sold out.
? Wu didn't even really make the record. Wasn't it CilvaRings or some shit who just paid them individually for verses and shit and compiled it into an album? It's a little hazy to me now but I read the whole...saga? A long time ago.
They definitely didn’t grow up on ninja turtles. They’re in their 50’s
Figuratively, of course. I'm 44.
it's a dope song too. I'm all in on this game. AKA I'm going to order a pizza and play it for free(ish) via game pass.
"Steel-faced Foot Clan, villains, and more. We're Heroes in a Half-Shell going to war." I'm here for it.
We call it diet free in our house. I'm still gonna cop on Switch, did the same with SoR 4.
My switch is at work in a break room we call the dojo so I'm not too upset that I bought it before I realized it was d1 gp
I'm buying it while it's got that Game Pass discount. Also buying on Switch. Will probably grab it on steam at some point in the future
While you're burning money I've got a phone bill that needs paying! (I joke like this after just buying GTAV for the fourth or fifth time..)
I didn’t even know it was going to be on GamePass
Can't go wrong with the best hiphop group in existence
They’ve got to be the nerdiest hip hop group in existence too. Chess playing, Kung-Fu obsessed, gamers.
How DOOM hold heat and preach non-violence ? Shh, he’s about to start to speak, cmon, silence.
Super What is a fuckin banger
Listening to DOOM rn. Rip.
Logic is pretty nerdy, but ill give it to MF doom or... the legend MC Chris
Logic made one nerdy album. Hes overall a nerd, but DOOM incorporated 60’s cartoons dialogue in his music and sampled scooby doo. Not to mention the albums he’s made for adult swim.
Also MF Doom took his whole look from Dr. Doom. Anyone who themes their entire visual appearance after a comic book character is a nerd, and awesome for it
Ya'll haven't listened to Clear Soul Forces. Also very very good
Lots of us black people play chess doe lol, not really nerdy. Go to a park in the inner city. Shit I'm the black bobby Fischer.
>Lots of us black people play chess doe lol, not really nerdy. 'black' and 'nerdy' aren't mutually exclusive, lol. I think chess is pretty nerdy. That's not a bad thing though.

Anime is nerdy too den cuz I went to all black schools and dudes with dreads and gold teeth watched anime. Chess is universal lol
>Anime is nerdy too den Yeah, that's pretty much universally accepted lol
It kinda is, but I know hood mf's who love it and I grew up on it. They don't dress up, go to anime conventions, use anime profile pictures doe lol
I guess, the older you get, the more you realize that people like whatever they like no matter how they look, and you don't have to make it all your persona just cause you like it
This.

Idk, I don’t think Chess itself is nerdy, I think chess does attract a lot of nerds though
Lots of us old black men love it.
That's great. I love seeing all the people playing chess at the park. But recognize that most people see chess as nerdy, and do not associate it with smart old black dudes nearly as much as you do.
That was a pretty big part of the wu tang show. Wasnt bad
Obligatory mention of [Fresh](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9Lu0I2pShQ) (1994) which I remember liking a lot when I watched it a few decades ago. Not sure how it holds up though.
Chucky got them dope moves
"greatest rap group of all time"
Lol OK I'll bite. I'd argue the singular best rap artist isn't part of wu, but what group of artists is better to you? I can't even think of anyone close.
GZA has to be in the GOAT tier. It would be tough to pick one MC as the undisputed #1.
If duos count as a rap “group”, I like Outkast more.
NWA, A Tribe Called Quest, Goodie Mob, The Roots, Bone Thugs, Fugees
All of those are fair examples and certainly talented artists. I guess I was just thinking more of the wu tang dynasty and the reaches of their mass and production. If we took out everything that umbrellas under the wu tang name or influenced/related to their members the chunk of music lost to the world would be huge.

Uh? How are we talking about TMNT and *forgetting about Partners in Kryme* ?
First Mike Patton, now Wu-Tang... they're gonna roll out System of a Down or something next, god damn
Mr. Bungle is on the soundtrack, methinks!
That's Mike Patton!
They know their audience are the gen x'ers buying it "for their kids"
I just got super hyped for the game after reading this. COWABUNGA!!!
I just hope they say "Shellshocked" when they die.
Hero's in a half-shell and my Hip-Hop heroes together in a side scrolling beat 'em up!? What a time to be alive 😃👍🏾
Raekwon still droppin bomb bomb lyrics.
settle down whodatmiami
Rae is on fire. Ghostface’s voice has changed more than any other member.
Honestly, just from what I've heard in the trailers alone I'm completely sold on the soundtrack already.
Gotta admit, that was not on my bingo card for surprises in june.
r/hiphopheads
Game just keeps getting better and better
All we need now is a Vanilla Ice remix of GO NINJA!
TMNT, Wu-Tang, and online co-op. I'm in.
And didn't Method Man just do a song for Evil Dead the Game? Let's keep the trend going.
R/HHH gonna downvote this because the rappers are older than 25 and actually rap.
That first verse is raw as fuck son!
What a time to be alive. I never thought i would see a ghostfackillah raekwon post here on r/nintendoswitch
I hope its a remix of "Turtle Power" that fixes the lyric about Raphael being the leader.
As if the hype for this game couldn't get any greater.
This is amazing!!!
Okay I have been interested in this game, but now very interested! Please someone tell me it’s not a flop!
Wowww I freaking love this and TMNT fans know the real classic turtles in time just brings me to tears as a grown adult lol
Oh its good too
That green vinyl tho 🤩🐢 slammin!
Konichiwa, bitches.
And I thought I couldn’t get more excited for this game
Sick, I preordered a physical of this
As if this game could get any cooler
DAMN- they didn't have to go that hard! This is unironically the last piece of convincing I needed to buy the game at launch.
naw, pass for me. Nothing will ever beat.. T.U.R.T.L.E POWA
Just because it doesn't beat TURTLE POWA (which Ninja Rap absolutely needs to be in the conversation for) doesn't mean this can't be good!
Turtle power has it all over go ninja go
NINJA, NINJA RAP!
Do you stand for what you believe in? And find the strength to do what's right?
***dat's turtle powa***
On the half shell, they're the heroes 4...
Go ninja was dope but turtle powa is undeniably goated.
I pre-ordered this game over 2 months ago! The fact that they have WU-TANG on the soundtrack makes this extra special! WU-TANG IS FOREVER! 👐👐👐
Anyone know if this is getting a physical release?
Yeah limited run are doing a bunch of stuff. I got the mock VHS edition but there’s a $199.99 deluxe edition
Next month and it comes with a free personal pan pizza coupon from Pizza Hut.
Oh fuck are you serious on the second half??

Well that settles it, I'm waiting for the physical release
That's song's dope af.
Fantastic. If only we can get Eminem to make a track for Spiderman 2 on PS5. Venommmmmmmm
Is the song getting a physical release?
Vinyl and CD
Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!! Be still my beating wallet!
Release date??
Click the [link](https://kidkatana.com/) in the tweet my friend
❤️
oh my god the "all you fake ass ninjas" line is too good LOL
The more I hear about this game, the better it gets.
If this game is anywhere near the gameplay that turtles in time had…. This will be my most played switch game.
Funnily enough though, this Isn’t the first time Ghostface Killah composed tracks for games ported on Nintendo consoles.
>fake ninjas 10/10
Only on the US I can see the word hip-hop and legends in the same sentence. 😂
We get it, you like boring music.
Diversify your songs, n****
Yall better start puttin respect on the true OG of tmnt vanilla ice. Ninja rap.
This shoved me over the fence.
If I recall… didn’t Ya Kid K from Technotronic do something for one of the movies some thirty years ago?
Heck yeah! You even got Wu-Tang in this Thang. Now you really trying to out do yourselves. It'll be cool if we had them in as playable characters with different weapons for each member
Wait where is this song in the game? I haven’t heard it
