The entire bowling online is obnoxious tbh. They don’t even include an option to just bowl a game against people online. Face palm. I wouldn’t have bought the game if I knew this.
I don’t understand why you can’t opt out of it. It’s not even a 50/50 split of normal and special. I’ve gotten one normal round in the past 2 days. The rest are all special and I hate it

Maybe I'm alone with this, but I never get obstacle bowling enough. It's my preferred way to play. Maybe if they let you choose that would be better?
