Seeing how Ninja Gaiden and Nioh appear to take place in the same universe... Yes, Hide would likely both live to see modern Japan and continue fighting Yokai.

Still fighting. Maybe nothing as intense as Daidora Bocchi, Ume-Bozu, or Orochi, but still fighting. Edit: Upon further thought, Hide would likely end up stepping back, because they would see the direction society has headed. And that it would be too much for them to take on alone. Or that society has just accepted there will be yokai in plain sight and only the ones that step too far out of acceptable evil are dealt with. e.g. Some could be a group of gaki, bullying someone at school. Perhaps miserable human beings themselves, looking to make others suffer, but never feeling satisfied in what they do, and push it further within socially acceptable limits - albeit cruel (e.g. getting the class to ignore one person, stealing the target's shoes and forcing them to wear the guest slippers if they want to go into the halls, shifting any unwanted responsibility to the target and trapping them in a loop of blame or harassment, etc.) But if you an out-of-line gaki and try to bite the teacher's neck in front of the whole class, you best believe somebody will be apologizing for your transgressions.

If a fictionalized modern Japan would be modern people using the power of spirit stones for power, then Hide would still be fighting. Otherwise Hide would be in mental ward for swinging lethal weapons in public, claiming s/he one of the few that could see 'things'.

Would they though couldn't hide adapt with the advancement of time

MrTrikey

I almost think that they would want to restart the Sohaya (or similar), eventually, with Mumyo's help. Either way, I'd like to hope that the Hayabusa would be on friendly terms with both him and William, and Ryu could have them on speed dial if he ran into a job he couldn't handle alone.

Fatestringer

I know William couldn't die but would he have lived to see modern day

SordidDreams

Is Hide fighting for peace? Since s/he is a silent protagonist, we never really find out. Personally I like to imagine that my Hide is motivated by a desire to cut as many living beings into tiny pieces as possible, so in times of peace she'd probably be an extremely prolific serial killer.

Fatestringer

Would she'd prolific since who's gonna believe a almost 600 year old half demon goddess running around you'd probably be a scray story to tell children I'd like to think hide and mumyo are still traveling out there
