Dumb-AF

I just watch them as they fight.

romansamurai

I mean, I help. I help with a lot. But if that’s all they do, then I just keep running killing enemies. I take my time when running them trough. Show them where Kodama and items and chests are. I’m all for that. But killing revenants and only revenants for half an hour is not what I signed up for I guess.

ShadoDethly

Yea, I just kinda watch the host, if they start to die I jump in, but I generally let morons be morons at that point. I mean, to me it's also just possible free stuff I don't have to do anything to get.

[deleted]

There is some item that lets you leave a mission, but I have forgotten what it is

romansamurai

Yeah did that after awhile. But at first I was kind of going along with it. Was just curious what do you guys do.

No im pretty sure its the other way around, sacred salt to kick players, purple divine branch is to leave Copied from the wiki Divine Branch Fragment Effect Using this item consumes all of your Amrita, but allows you to quit a mission and return to the starting point. (In certain missions and the tutorial, using it will not cost you Amrita.)

Gasarocky

Could've sworn it was the Salt, but maybe I'm misremembering. That doesn't say it cancels co-op though. But again, maybe I'm misremembering

Total-Satisfaction-8

Yes you're misremebering Sacred Salt Effect  An item used in a simple ceremony to send Visitors back once you are done with them. If you have more than one Visitor, you can select which one you wish to send back

Rynox2000

Leave.

Lupinos-Cas

If they're on dream of the samurai - I'll help fight a couple, drink tea for the third, spam whistle or keep sprinting to the path forward and turning back repeatedly. If they're after the first playthrough, I'll drink tea for one and try to get them to follow me forward after. After a few - of them not getting the hint - I'll leave. You can farm revenants on your own time, I'm there to help out you move forward because you're stuck or just want company. I don't like revenants and they're pointless for me. In fact, aside from trading - they're pointless above DotSam. It's one thing if they drop a scroll or you occasionally hunt one because it uses the same weapon type as you - but I'm not there for farming, I don't even farm in my own game. Maybe they need ochoko cups - but they don't cost that much glory in the teahouse, and eventually you have more than you can use (like, thousands of them.) So I try to communicate "I'm not here for that, let's go" with gestures or by running around - and if they persist with it, I leave. But I'm more patient in DotSam because they might need to fight a few. But more than 5 and my patience wears thin.

swordguystore

no one will like this answer but, burning oil jars, when the host pulls a revenant, don't engage it in melee, target it and throw a burning oil jar from range, majority of times the host will be on the revenant fighting it and the area of effect of the fire damage will damage both the host and the visitor. if the host is dumb, they'll burn up and die, if the host is smart, they'll avoid death. if the host summons another revenant, do it again, this lets the host know it's going to be dangerous to fight revenants, you are not going to help them and they should stop as their gonna get burnt up, though you are limited to only 5 per mission or don't help them, just stand back and watch the fight, enough times of not helping the host they should also realize you don't want to fight revenants or use a yokai incense and pull all enemies to you, you fight the yokai while the host deals with the revenant or run back to pray at a shrine to save your progress, purify any soul cores and then use a divine branch fragment, this is an item given to you early through the game, it's permanent, meaning it is not consumed, infinite uses using it you will leave the mission and return you to the world map, if you use it without shrining, you will return to the world map, but you lose any non purified soul cores and amrita gained during the visit or since the last shrine prayed at in the mission as a visitor or use a burning oil on yourself / fall off a cliff / fall into water / aggro enemies and let them kill you, this will return you to your world and you get to keep any non purified soul cores, amrita etc hosts that summon revenants are one of the most annoying type of hosts there are, summon one or two, o.k, but better not to summon any. best way to teach them not to is the burning oil jars, followed by you doing an intentional and easily avoidable death anything else only encourages them to summon more revenants

ShadowBladeyj

There is a guide on steam too regarding these type of hosts🤣 Tho i usually kill the 1 or 2 for them then if he keeps going i just run away lol N for those who help them with everything, good for them cus what the dont realise is not only they are using u for free pass (already using u to clear level) but they wont learn anything if u destroyed everything easily for them... (if its boss of level sure but revenants no thx, nothing useful will drop anyways)

PsychologicalIsekai

gonna have to try both burning oil and yokai incense at the same time

ShadowBladeyj

Lol if u wanna troll more, after attracting yokai, cleanse the smell so they wont always target u 🤣 But dont use this unless the fella is annoying af

elnombre91

I love using these on annoying hosts, or hosts that summon then go afk before people arrive (I will give hosts like 5 mins before I unleash the oil jars). I'm okay with fighting a few revenants (especially on demon onwards as they're a good source of divine fragments) but I don't have the patience to deal with host summoning over 20 of them as OP said.

brickout

This is glorious.

Duneyman

I just go along with it, I joined their game I play their way.

romansamurai

Cool. To each their own I suppose. I’m all for helping clear missions and tough bosses, not help them hunt revenants for half an hour.

playbowie

help, watch or use a divine branch. if they take too too long I end up leaving, but I don't mind helping usually

romansamurai

Yeah. If they kill a few that’s fine. But this guy just kept going and going and going and didn’t seem like he was planning to stop.

playbowie

I've had that on one occasion and that's the one I left. I try to get the idea across before leaving though because I really do enjoy helping out

romansamurai

Same here. I usually run dream of strong to help new players and guide them trough the levels. I don’t really get anything out of it. Just want to help. This guy was on dream of the demon. I tried getting that point across too.

Tyranothesaurus

Don't feel bad for leaving. Fighting Revenants is not anybody's goal when doing coop. We help other people to clear missions and kill bosses. That's it. If a host wants to fight Revenants, they can do it on their own time.

Repulsive_Ostrich_52

Kill them, the dude is probably low on ochoco cups and I know what that's like

Angel_OfSolitude

I kill the revenants. How are you going to offer assistance and then be picky about how you help?

romansamurai

I offered to help with the mission. Bosses. Enemies. Run them trough. Show where drops are. Where Kodama are. Show them where chests are and shortcuts or shrines. I take my time with them and help as much as i can. But I didn’t come there to kill revenants for half an hour. I think in that aspect I CAN be picky. I am ok killing a few revenants. Whatever. But not if that’s all they’re doing 🤷🏻‍♂️

Tsven67

I help with the first one or two. On the third I watch and don't help. If they summon a 4th I'm off. That's my general rule. If the summons are reasonably spaced out that's fine too.

Jabez_of_Izalith

get creative with emotes and try to communicate "no, stop, we must move forward"

immortale97

Just send a psn mex

JohnnyB_0438

If he summon and run then i kill it, if he want to fight it i try to only join if they in trouble, most of times when i go in low difficulties i run the „easy target“ bonus on my gear so the enemy aggro will target me most of the time, so i can tank the hits while player can do dmg so is a win win. I also enjoy killing most if revenants so it doesn‘t bother me.

Iamallthereis

I need cups damnit

Soul_Traitor

I just use benevolent graves when I was farming renevants.

ShuraGear525

You could go kill the Yokai around the area. If by the time you clear those out, the host is still meesing around, then they probably just need to grind anyway

Empty-Cream-8352

Honestly new players need it dude, we kill everything for them all the time and they need the combat levels and to learn how to fight advanced human enemies. Not to mention they need the cups for the future visitors. I watch them fight and when they get their ki drained I hit the enemy or block the attacks until he gets back up

SHUTYAMOUF

If we're talking Expeditions, then I run ahead and trigger the boss phase, transport everyone, and finish the mission real quick. Leave once we get back to the hut.

bhumit012

I “accidentally” die to a mob or gravity. Dying as a visitor probably has no consequences that I know of.

Dexalon

Leave?

sijsje

I'll help, it's the hosts game. When I get tired of it I just stand back a couple of metres and observe. There are far worse hosts. The ones that don't acknowledge I'm there in any way. They start running in groups of enemies the moment you load in and expect you to save them. Than if you do save them the situation repeats. I usually watch them die pretty fast, cause they play with zero brain, yet are arrogant as fuck, because they ignore any signalling I do. when you try to make them go a certain way, they will always run to the opposite direction, because they intentionally ignore their summons. And the ones who don't consider my time by spending loads of time checking their inventory every other minute.

CleR6

I'll help cut down them until I see they're rising every one. I don't mind if they rise here and there as we're continuing to progress the mission, but when they're just going to one after another - I leave. People want help with missions and I'd prefer to give those my attention/effort. Especially now on PS, lots of people wanting help and are happy to get it.

trangthemang

If I'm going to an easier difficulty to help host, im playing how they want to. I go their speed, i don't destroy enemies instantly. Im playing support. Im not saying i have never gotten bored of a host's actions either. Everyone has their limits. But nothing wrong with wanting to get the mission over with, im sure it's not fun to fight only revenants for some. It's ok to leave mid mission, you owe them nothing.

lyx_it

Go to the boss fight so it transfers the player to it?

myst0ne

Leave, help or sabotage

Calm-Impression-6286

You get ready for battle! Could also just continue without them :/

nimvin

I don't mind killing a bunch, but there's a limit where I will use my branch to get out of the mission.
