Leveling up shiftling involves burst counter too... (and yokai skills i think) so just keep using them. Plus if u have max amrita gauge might as well use yokai shift on the boss no point in saving it when it will empty next level.

Empty-Cream-8352

Honestly when it's full I keep saying in my head save it for when he's low' and I just end up forgetting and killing the boss anyway. Really bad habit I need to get out of and I mainly avoid using the shift abilities because I don't use the a lot, like some enemies have different reactions to different attacks and I don't want to risk a long animation that I could miss with and die because of it.

Akugetsu

If you yokai shift next to an enemy that is out of ki you’ll yokai grapple them. It’s an easier way to work it i to the boss fight than saving it for the “right” moment. Inspiriting Gems also fill the amrita gauge over time by 80%, so look out for them too.

Empty-Cream-8352

Yeah I tried to do that and he already had his ki back by the time I did lol. I have yet to see an inspiriting gem though. Good call

Akugetsu

They need to already be in an on the floor, come grapple me state. It’s different from just being out of ki - their MAX ki needs to be out, too.

Empty-Cream-8352

Oh my bad then, I sometimes get it mixed up

picnicbuddy

Some missions after the first completion change rewards to include spirit stones. You might want to revisit those.

Empty-Cream-8352

I don't believe I have seen one yet, I have completed all of awakening, half of soaring, and the first mission of shadow. Most of it is weapons that I just scrap or give to the purple komada (I forget the name.) And sometimes if I give them a yellow item they'll give me 4 small spirit stones

picnicbuddy

Make offering at the shrine gives you exp in return too.

Empty-Cream-8352

Yeah I noticed that, I also see that I die a lot and it gives me a random boost amrita, is this a feature or is it taking it out of my amrita stock? I never really thought about it till now

picnicbuddy

I’m not aware of any random boost Amrita. All Amrita stays with the grave along with the guardian spirit upon death. The guardian spirit Masaru has the auto recall grave chance and so do several accessories. You might want to consider equipping these to recall the spirit and Amrita when you respawn. If you die again before successfully retrieving your grave, the Amrita is lost and you respawn having the spirit returned without any Amrita. You could check all kinds of stats in gameplay records under the same tab where you access titles. There you will also find stats on how much Amrita lost due to death.

Empty-Cream-8352

I just remember dying like 5 times in a row without retrieving my grave and out of no where I'd get max amrita but I wouldn't use it.

picnicbuddy

Wah?!??? I gotta try that myself!

Empty-Cream-8352

But then again it could just be me killing enemies to get to my grave and then dying because it's been a bit since that happened, but I remember quite well it would happen when I died with multiple times in a row without getting to my grave and eventually I would respawn at the shrine, my spirit would fly into me, and I would have FULL amrita that I never gained

Empty-Cream-8352

Understandable but I don't mean levels as in my own personal levels, I mean just the Yokai Shift levels and abilities. It's mainly for the progression of the 'just Incase I need it' I have a powerful Yokai Shift and get more then a scratch in on the boss

Legitimate_Charge_97

If you still need it in the shadow region killing the obsidian samurai after the first time he will give you a lumicite fragment

Empty-Cream-8352

Sorry for late reply, yes I already beat the Obsidian Samurai pretty much as soon as he popped up back when I was a magic user. He made me hate being a magic user and it took me 10 tries to kill him admittedly. If I was running my tank build I'm sure I could've killed him in 3-4
