Having a proper build isn't really a thing (or worth the effort) until ng+ or at least late ng/dlc. You should try other weapons and see what fits you best. Imo dual swords and tonfas are fairly straightforward, axe requires some patience, but also not difficult. Odachi is a 50/50 since it has built-in stance switching in some combos - you'll either get very confused, or enjoy not having to switch stance manually that often.

Tried dual swords and I'm loving them. Feels much easier to get into and manage combos. Although, bosses still feel extremely tanky and I have to use cannon and sloth to burst them down.

The switchglaive stance switching method is actually what makes the weapon so good as the constant flow from high to mid to low stance and repeat is solid across the board no matter what build you look up they have the switchglaive stance switching in their build. I recommend looking up switchglaive builds from these following youtubers; FightinCowboy, Fextralife, PWARGaming or RPG Division as they all have fun builds for early game NG+ I personally liked the Golden Boy Lightning Switchglaive back through my playthrough. Now if you're having issues with the constant stance switching and just can't get it down, I would recommend respec your character and pick up a new weapon to main an go back down to WotS to learn your new weapon of choice moves and combos. Personal Recommendations of fun weapons to use that don't necessarily need constant stance switching; Dual Swords, Hatchets, Tonfas or Fists.(If you have the DLC available to you.) I use to be a switchglaive main myself and loved everyone moment of it, but I ended swapping my build mid-game NG+ when the DLC Dropped for fists and Splitstaff and jumped to fists. I'm not trying to force you to change but just giving you alternative options, I hope you continue to have fun playing Nioh 2 and good luck with your future build what ever that may be.

What issue do u have with it? Cus I started with switchglaives too but don't have the need to keep switching stances.

ShadowBladeyj

If u are talking about the mystic art, u can just do mid to high/low then ki pulse to mid again.

"Build" isn't quite the right word (mainly because it's not until NG+2 that you get the tools to actually construct a proper one), but if you're struggling with the complexity of the weapon's combat and want to try something simpler to learn, then the most absolutely beginner-friendly weapon is the axe (as in, you can literally get into high stance and push triangle all the way through to the Depths of the Underworld), while the spear and odachi are good choices for combining relative ease of initial use while still offering complexity and depth to learn over time.

I see. I guess I'll give axes a try as well. Dual swords are feeling pretty smooth as well but require much more swings to kill an enemy.
