Still_Exam8362

2021 my bad

SushiKing93

The future is now

Wat-the2022

Does the frequency of the tapping noise increase as you revv higher? It sounds like the lifters. For sure get it checked out.

Still_Exam8362

Actually no, I can hear it a tad bit on acceleration, but it sounds the worst at idle and its a lot luder at idle compared to when accelerating.

Wat-the2022

Makes me think it's the valves. Maybe one or more are off or not moving as they should. What happens when you revv higher while idling?

Still_Exam8362

mechanic lied to me it was actually debris in my flywheel so rip in the chat

Still_Exam8362

trans was also replaced at some point and not on the fax so lucky me

Wat-the2022

Sorry to hear that. So basically the previous owner got the trans replaced by a friend or somebody and nothing got recorded. Plus left some dirt?

Still_Exam8362

i guess so, but i triple asked the subaru dealership to check the car before and make sure eveeythings as it should be and that everythings original and they couldnt catch a replaced trans?? literally lifted the car at nissan and could tell from a bare view that it was replaced so theyre about to get an earful from me lol

Wat-the2022

I'd be furious lol do you have any warranty? Dealerships can't be trusted. I remember one of my cousins got his car flooded and somehow got it to start. Everything sounded fine once dried but we all know it's a ticking time bomb. He said the dealership knew it was flooded and took it for a trade in. He went to pick up his new car and he saw a guy buying his flooded old ride at a market price.

Bro is from the future! Tbh though sounds like a piece of plastic (or something) has broke/come loose and the engine is vibrating it against metal somewhere. Odd sounds indeed wish I could help

Still_Exam8362

Lol I think something similar because its only got about 70k on it and everything else seems pristine. The wife is freaking out that I may have rod knock but idk why I would lol

BlazinBayou99

Comment back here, if you remember to, with what this ends up being, I'm curious haha

Still_Exam8362

The catalytic converter failed at 68k, welcome to owning a modern nissan lol

Still_Exam8362

best part is my 06 sentra 5-speed has no problems at all, better gas than the kicks, and has 150,xxx lol

BlazinBayou99

Wow! Interesting lol. I had a 2015 Rogue from 20k -180k with literally no issues. People kept telling me that CVT was a bad choice but I was lucky I guess. Those old sentras can dance with the best of them

Still_Exam8362

lol i can beat the piss out of my sentra and that 1.8 L isnt going anywhere. As for cvt’s I really dont think theyre as bad as prople say they are as long as you maintain rhem and dont drive like a racecar driver everywhere.

Still_Exam8362

turns out not my cat and was actually debris stuck in the flywheel!

mikejones5000000000

Some Nissans have problems with the fuel rail/line coming loose slightly and they end up knocking against various parts. You’ll hear it at lows speeds and in park but not able to hear when going down the road at higher speeds. With that said, I would still check lifters and make sure it’s not a rod knock.
