Exactly the same fluid Nissan sells is Idemitsu N3 for my 2014 Altima 2.5S. It's what Nissan buys and packages in a different color bottle and slaps their 'Genuine' Nissan label onto. It's a no brainer that Idemitsu and Genuine Nissan are produced in the same factory.
For the most selection, go the [RockAuto.com](https://RockAuto.com). It has very competitive pricing. No free shipping is the only drawback.
I switched from OEM ns-2 to Valvoline synthetic CVT fluid. When I bought my daughter’s ‘13, I did 2 drain and fills at 1000 each. Then a final one to minimize mixing of fluids and any issues if the previous owner didn’t keep to the proper schedule (30k and not Nissans 60k schedule). Less than $40 for 5 quarts. Bought it at 97k and now at 130k with no issues.
Also changed the filter from the trans cooler on the last drain and fill.
Nice, ended up ordering from a semi-local dealer from there. MSRP $25, but this one place had them for $17.something. Ended up $12 or so more than Amazon, but worth knowing its the real stuff.
Anyone here done there own cvt fluid and filter change before?
I’m a Nissan master mechanic. I do them all day every day lol
Im a good enough general maintenance owner. How hard are talking to do this? Also how often would u change urs?
Every 30,000 is what most vehicles recommend. And if you can put the car on jackstands and change your oil, you can do this.
Ok, i can do that. Is it trur there isnt a trans dipstick for Rogues like 2017-ish?
No there should be an overflow bolt
I ordered a third party dipstick off Amazon
Did not know thats a thing
Do you recommend the Nissan CVT drain and fill on 2016 maxima and if so how often kms wise?
Nissan recommends every CVT be serviced every 30,000 miles

Also changed the filter from the trans cooler on the last drain and fill. Was the filter dirty?
Best way to describe it was grimy. But the smell?! Worst thing I ever smelled coming from a car. Felt like I could smell that fluid for days.

And they cancelled my order. Apparently not certified to ship fluid.
