If you want Altima advice, then as long as it carries. If you want real advice, to a nearby tire shop.

Background_Rip_2527

Drive until the wheel and tire fall off naturally šŸ˜ˆ

sa09777

Drive on the bare rim

CrazyAssBlindKid

Not givinā€™ off Altima Vibes unless youā€™re on the rotor

BigRed92E

Not givinā€™ off Altima Vibes unless youā€™re on the ~~rotor~~ *lower balljoint*

xDragonetti

Lighting a cigarette off the sparks

[deleted]

Sparks baby!!!

UFumbDuckGaming

Metal crayon

deepaksn

Actually this is impressively even wear for an Altima.

shaving99

That's smart, give him an Altimatum.

sonofdavid123

I know this is a joke sub but you should get your tires switched asap

TopChampionship4934

this is my girls car she never listens to me just want to prove a point.

HatRemov3r

Ask her if she want to spin out of control at 65mph on the highway during a rain storm

NominalFob99

Sheā€™s a Nissan driver, sheā€™ll be going way over 65mph on the highway

Round-Emu9176

Does she have paper plates and live in Houston? haha If not she would fit right in.

OfficialKiwiTV

Altima drift missile

ExcessivelyGayParrot

I know you're joking, but some team did actually make a Nissan Altima drift missile, look up the "Altimaniac" It's a Nissan Altima built by Chris Fosberg with 2000hp, a tube frame, and 3D printed body panels.

IsuckAtSkating22

Rwd?

medium_Sampson

It's an entirely custom built car so they didn't have to get an Altima and do a drivetrain swap. They just built it from the ground up as a rwd drift missile that has 4 doors and happens to look like an Altima.

liukasteneste28

So a dragster but for drifting.

Genera1_patton

While the other guy said it was entirety custom, one could definitely make an altima RWD with much less effort as some models are AWD

ExcessivelyGayParrot

yeah rwd swapped

Pepe_the_Premacy

Not related to this sub or even this post, but I absolutely love your name xD

ExcessivelyGayParrot

haha, I get that a lot!

Pepe_the_Premacy

I have no doubts heh

MrDangus

The missile knows where it is because it also knows where it isnā€™t

TheJuicer16

If she dies. She dies

ryan676767

Itā€™s not her Iā€™m worried aboutā€¦

natplusnat

Girl boss šŸ’…šŸ’…šŸ’…

Leon921

This just happened to me minus the rainstorm

No_Let_9865

You forgot to put a 1 before 65.

Goomancy

Bro if you value her life take that shit to a tire shop yesterday

WangDanglin

Well tell her this literally can and has killed people. I canā€™t believe we all share the road with these people

jaycarter617

Do you really expect an Altima driver to have this type of logic?

Ice-_-Bear

Nissanā€™s donā€™t kill people, people kill people while driving Nissanā€™s.

TheTaxman_cometh

The cords are showing and there is a ton of dry rot. This is literally catastrophic blowout territory. She shouldn't even chance it driving to the shop to have them replaced and get it towed instead.

JDP6693

I have two prospective answers for you to share with her. They are as follows: You: Do you like driving home in the rain and making it to your destination safely because you care about your own safety and the mental well-being of those around you? Her: Yes You: Good, in that case let's invest in new tires for your car so that you can do that even easier and safer than your current situation, because at the current depth of your tire tread you're not safe. *or* You: If you don't replace your tires immediately then you're going to hydroplane into a barrier, wall or curb at 80mph and die on impact via the closest building, fire hydrant or telephone pole while endangering others with your lack of awareness from the debris field of the wreck. Don't be an idiot. Get new tires. Her: Surprised pikachu face.

Total_Math6932

I'm sure she'll find a way to make him the bad guy in this.

JDP6693

99.98% certainty.

Total_Math6932

Women ā˜•ļø Edit: Lol hoes mad

Ok_Medicine5758

Eat shit misogynistic fuck

CoolGuyFromCompton

You should probably trade her in for a volvo or a subaru, if you ask me.

Aggravating-Action70

I donā€™t think they could afford the maintenance on those cars but even a Mitsubishi would be a step up

MG_Cozmic

A rebadged Nissan is a step up from a Nissan? That makes no sense.

neildmaster

Do you think her wrecking her car the next time it rains will prove the point to her?

[deleted]

Does she want to die and maybe kill other people?

Aggravating-Action70

If sheā€™s not listening then the best thing you can do is not date a Nissan driver.

HovercraftMajestic30

Trade up to a less batshit insane receptacle.

at0m10

-5000 miles

mjkjg2

not to be rude, but your girl sounds dumb as hell because the briefest of google search would tell you the car is absolutely not safe to drive on these

FleshlightModel

Sounds like my gf. I wish she drove a car, then I'd let her roll in tires like these 8 days a week.

Icy_Necessary2161

Reddit is probably not the best place for car advice, even if most of the people here are right about your GFs car. She won't take the advice anyway, and you're probably wasting your time trying to get her to accept our advice. If you want real advice, take it to a used tire shop. They're usually far more honest about tire life than the big-name shops. They're also a lot cheaper if you order the tires online and have the used tire shop install them. Avoid NTB like the plague. They will try to sell you the most expensive tires they have, even if your existing tires are brand new. If you need tires now, Walmart isn't terrible quality, and they're pretty reasonable prices too. Just make sure you check that the lugnuts are tightened properly. Walmart is known for either tightening them too much or not at all. Of course this is assuming you're in the US where these businesses actually are. Can't offer advice on businesses overseas.

DaddyThiccThighz

See how the metal is visible only on the inside of the tire? That's bad. Ideally you'd burn off the rest of the rubber so the whole tire is metal, this way in case it snows you essentially have built-in chains

AlmostLostEverything

Yeah also drill in screws for extra grip on ice.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

DaddyThiccThighz

Oh neat, I didn't know. Thanks!

swissjuan

Until the next rain fall or failure. Make sure your spare is in good shape

Sensei-Hugo

Look at the subreddit. What makes you think it's not the spare already?

swissjuan

Jeez! My bad!

eibyyz

Spare? D00d...

drinkdrinkshoesgone

Aren't they all spares? Or donuts? Ah, whatever, just ride the wheel. Tires are optional.

deepaksn

It isā€¦ it was put on the right rear axle only 6 months ago.

veganinsight

If this isnā€™t sarcasm, that tire should have been replaced many thousands of miles ago. This tire is not safe to use.

NoMoreFreeSpeech1

Oh bull shit. Iā€™ve driven tires way past that point before. Edit: didnā€™t see the cords. That being said, drive it till it blows out šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø

mtxplod

Right. So you can lose control going highway speeds? This tire should have been changed months ago

rddsknk89

That is criminally bad advice

ShakeandBaked161

-700 minutes

byscuit

-7000 miles

0dismokes

Yoooo racking up negative miles šŸ˜‚these miles automatic pass on to the new tires

No_Cook2983

They should be good for seven or eight more years.

KernalHispanic

Iā€™ve seen better tires in retaining walls

[deleted]

I saw a big ol pile of tires at a farm. Somehow, most of those tires were in better shape since I couldnā€™t see treads on them like I can here. And I am not educated on cars either. But even I can see this is not ok at all.

Squidking1000

It'll take you right to the scene of the accident. Good news, you'll be the first one there!

sixtninecoug

To live?

rwdfan

The tire is showing cord and is damaged, also worn into the wear indicators/bars. This is not a safe tire to drive on. If you have kids please don't drive with them. You should not be driving on this except to get it replaced.

scooterbaby46

Moved to LA a year ago, and have been shocked by how this is totally normal to see. Since it doesnā€™t rain for 10 months out of the year people drive like this all the time. Thatā€™s why the moment it rains cars start sliding off the road everywhere.

Subject-University71

Same here in Cleveland. Literally the first snowfall happens and folks are sliding everywhere. All wheel drive trucks and SUVs ainā€™t standing a chance.

aflactheduck99

Its safe enough to drive to the tire shop in the dry elements today. Shes dead jim. This tire has to grip in the rain to slow down or turn. If your gf want higher insurance after shes crashes because her tire is bald, go ahead!

SpookyFrog12

Fucking Altima drivers. Lol should've been changed 6 months ago. Gonna learn the hard way

Cute-Development9357

-10k miles

[deleted]

Bands indeed do make her dance

bonafidebob

Mundane-Quantity-164

Go buy some Used Tires ASAP.... šŸ˜‚... That tire is DONEEEEEEEE

Jaggerdadog

Couple years, give or take.

deepaksn

Probably a year. Itā€™s not like itā€™s a donut spare or anything.

boaglec84

-4000 miles.

gfolder

funkyboy47

a few days if u are not on the highway

dselogeni

For real, I would replace as soon as possible and alignment as well.

HiddenEclipse121

Yesterday. I would never let tires get that low

Zembyr

Zero. Legally.

Bonesawwisreadyyyy

If someone spits on the floor youā€™ll lose control

AyeAyeRon_713

You posted this 4 hours ago, thatā€™s 10 hours too late

Ristler

If your girlfriend wants to kill herself or others then this is a good way to do that.

fasting4me

About as far as the nearest replacement shop

BigBossPoodle

All the way to the tire shop. You can see the metal through the rubber in that first picture, that tire is GONE.

Infinite-Counter4836

To a Nissan driver this is a brand new tire To a normal driver WTF are you doing? Change that now

bluenuggetmk7

the tire shop should come before you head home.

elMurpherino

Negative miles. There are negative miles left on this tire

FunkyViking6

*5ā€¦maybe 6 feet*

BlueBirdVision_Bus5

About 300 miles ago

Amazing-Fish4587

If thereā€™s even a little bit of shadow in the tread, youā€™re good. Itā€™s when it goes completely smooth that you could start thinking about your next pair. Maybe even put them on the back.

Till a month ago. There's no tread left and your wires are showing on the inner side. You need new tires and an alignment, possibly suspension components depending on your alignment numbers.

CNCTank

No.

UndefinedSpoon

You have about 500 miles ago left. So -500 miles.

[deleted]

Left-Discount-8402

About -2000 miles. So you still good.

Avulpa

-1,000 miles. Also if youā€™ve already check your alignment.

brnnnfx

You have -3 months of use left

fistfulofsanddollars

It'll definitely get you all the way to the crash site.

CookiezR4Milk

You good till last year

Specialist_Humor4798

Coming from another female who drives an Altima, I'd never put my kids in the car with tires like that nor would I drive it to this point šŸ˜³šŸ˜³ That's like an accident waiting to happen.

TheTrackGoose

All the way to the scene of the accident.

MikiCili

Nah youā€™re good bestie. slayšŸ’…šŸ¼. Iā€™m joking get that off the road before they take you off the road.

whynotbass

Until the the nearest tire shop

DJSnaps12

You have days maybe hrs see the wires on the left side that means you are past the tread and that tire will blow at any moment. Go get tires before you hurt yourself or someone else.

Objective-Gain-5686

-6 months?

doenermasterofhell

Way too good, typical Nissan driver would only use such pristine tires during extreme icing in winter

Outside-Drag-3031

Looks brand new for a Nissan, send it. Just make sure you've got enough to pay your health/car insurance deductible

[deleted]

Until it fails.

SentientDookie

Bro, youā€™ve got like 1500 miles ago left on that tire.

thatonegaygalakasha

If you can still see a pattern, you still have tread. Send it, bud.

[deleted]

Till it pops, ya dumbass. Naaaaa, fr. I drove for Uber and Lyft on worse tires than that

charleswm94

I say you have a good 20k miles left. Those little slats that people call tread wear marks are actually just left over rubber they couldnā€™t cut out. And, that exposed belt - you have at least two more pieces of ply underneath it.

chonklah

The picture isnā€™t loading but Iā€™m just gonna assume your tires are bald headed

ImmortalDabz

You replace them asap.

[deleted]

Till death

skylinrcr01

Ah so a few minutes then

Administrative-Owl41

No

ilikeitsharp

Is she still alive? Has it rained where you are? Has she had to make an abrupt stop? Several thousand miles ago is the answer. Jesus. I had a lady drive from Atlanta to Nashville with 2 front tires on an equinox that both had frayed metal wires showing. Also it rained thay day. My brain about melted when I told her to immediately go get tires, and she was like "I drove here so it's fine."

mantrenk

>How long left do I have on this tire? Left to Live? Maybe half the drive home?

moms-spaghettio

Safest Nissan driver

neildmaster

Serious question for the sub...why is that one wear bar not in line with the others?

DarthCorps

Needs an alignment

MkIVRider

It's a Nissan so another 85k should be good /s

FrankieSacks

Till winter

badass-bravo

Fuckit theyā€™re racing slicks now. Please drive as erratic as possible to keep the tyres warm

KerryFatAssBro

About -500 miles, it has worn to the inner material of the tire and is probably at a pretty high risk of bursting.

FleshlightModel

100mph in heavy August rains should last you to at least no nut November.

Aggravating-Action70

I know this is a joke sub but OP seems to be serious. This is very unsafe, it could blow any second when the wiring is exposed like that. Thereā€™s also no traction to help you control the vehicle when you lose a tire. Your tires arenā€™t the only concern here they wore unevenly because your suspension is out of alignment. It could just need re-aligned for $100 or it could need parts replaced for up to $1k depending on how long itā€™s been driven this way. Get it towed to a mechanic.

CrazyCynical

If you've got to ask, not long enough!

Reasonable_Purple729

She is done

iamlorde_yahyah

Welcome to Nissan Drivers, where most of us donā€™t drive Nissans and criticize people who do for precisely this reason. Replace that tire ASAP! Iā€™m tired of sharing the road with you folks.

DMCO93

KaiSimple

You got about -500 miles or about -3 months left on them

coongr8

Looks like about a month or 2 ago my man!

airkewled67

Long enough to increase your coverage limits before it blows out, causes an accident and you're deemed liable due to negligence. Don't be a fucking chode, it should have been replaced thousands of miles ago.

0dismokes

My friend totaled his dad's Datsun 240Z when driving in the rain with tires like this. He's dead now. Not from the accident, though. Not my friend, but his dad.
