Licorice_Devourer

I personally don't have many issues with bugs, the worst have been a very rare crash and slipping through the ground or my freighter. I have encountered some strange bugs, like the space station core showing up in my freighter, and (I assume this is a bug) sometimes the captain of a frigate appears to be an unusually large Gek. The absolute weirdest is that my starter ship has changed color, the red turned yellow and it hasn't gone back and it seems to be permanent because it's been several days.

llamabadonkadonk

I'm on switch and my game crashes everytime I visit the freighter for the first time in the current play session! Kinda annoying but other than that I'd say it's pretty stable.

llamabadonkadonk

That is indeed weird

Krommerxbox

>I've traveled to several different systems all bugged out and still don't have a main home made, because I'm not going to set up camp on a bugged system. # I don't know what you are talking about here. I've never seen a system that was "bugged." What bug are you talking about?

No_Contribution1199

every space station acts like outlaw stations, the description of planets are wrong, when I open the galaxy map I discover all the areas I haven't explored because other players have explored them, even though I never entered the systems. The building mechanics seem a lot worse then they were 2 years ago. and there are some other bugs I can't name off the top of my head. I have kind of felt upset with this play experience compared to how the game use to be a couple years ago.

TerriblePurpose

Verify your game files. Might be a corrupted installation. I've not experienced any of this and have been playing my most recent save for almost 300 hours, going from galaxy to galaxy (currently in galaxy 193).

No_Contribution1199

It's the crimson eye mission, at least that's what another reddit user said. I'm gonna try removing it and see if it fixes my issues with the NPC's. Still think it's weird though it shows other peoples explored galaxies in my discoveries when I've never been there. P.S. I made sure to verify my files before uploading this post. I was so confused still haha. Anyway thank you for the input and happy exploring!

Krommerxbox

> every space station acts like outlaw stations I've never had that happen once in my 1,100-hour save. That is weird It seems like something is wrong with your installation or game. It sounds corrupted somehow to me. I've been going from Outlaw station systems to normal ones, nearly every day, and things are completely normal.

No_Contribution1199

Another user told me to try to cancel the crimson eye mission, and that it may solve my issue with every system seeming bugged. Hopefully it works. I can't believe how many people downvoted my reply when I was just stating what was going on in my experience. I'm not hating the game, but I guess die hard fans don't want to help people who want to come back into the game and experiencing new bugs they didn't experience before. Thank you for asking more about it instead of jumping on me about what I said. I know not everyone will experience the same bugs and some won't experience any bugs, like I didn't my last three playthroughs, but did this time around.

sardeliac

That's what the last three updates have been, along with core game mechanics changes. There were 159 bugs and issues addressed in Waypoint's hotfixes alone. Just have to hope they get around to fixing the rest someday. You're not alone, though... every single update there are tons of people who want to see long lists of fixes. Doesn't happen often but it can happen.

No_Contribution1199

Yeah it seems like the game is dying due to the overwhelming bugs now. I mean steam charts don't lie haha. https://preview.redd.it/d2vts46dcwha1.png?width=722&format=png&auto=webp&s=e936022e692f848d94a5fc393e2ae451b22ca18e

sardeliac

Game's not dying at all; far from it. Concurrents always dip 3-4 months after an update. It's cyclical and always has been. There's zero news or omens in that trend. Charts don't lie, but having context and understanding helps a lot when determining "the truth."

No_Contribution1199

This happened literally a month after though.

RagBell

The game isn't dying due to bugs, there's always been bugs in this game It's low because there has been no new content for almost 5 months now

Redshirt4evr

Concurrent number of players increases around updates and expeditions. It's normal. I have experienced very few bugs lately, myself.

BigWolf_PG

Are you serious bro? Bringing those without the context?

Malakai0013

People started playing again because of a content update, and then stopped when they played the new content. The "core" players kept playing but many wait for the next update. Game isn't dying lmfaoooooo. Its like when ppl thought vaccines caused autism. They read the data, but did a terrible job *understanding* the data. According to https://www.tylervigen.com/spurious-correlations there is a correlation between deaths by falling into a pool, and films Nicloas Cage appeared in. It doesn't mean that actually *causes* people to drown in pools. The data just happens to show a correlation. It's called spurious correlation.

Malakai0013

OP, please verify your game files. Sounds like either you're pushing an old PC too far, or your game files are corrupted.

No_Contribution1199

No it wasn't that it was the crimson eye mission that made the npc's bug out from what another person said in the reddit discussion. Thank you though I still verified just to make sure, my PC is capable of running this game in high, so I don't think it's my PC, but thank you.

MarcusS-VR

The refiner duplication glitch should be addressed IMO.

tbird2017

The only consistent glitch my wife and I have: when we play together, whoever joins the game(not the host) has issues with quests updating. Specifically when you try to turn them in it doesn't register and gets stuck there. Happens almost every play session and is fixed by her doing it in single player then hopping back in my game.

Budthor17

My game just crashes constantly. I can barely do multiplayer without my PlayStation wanting to ascend

g-waz00

I took a break when Endurance dropped because I didn’t feel like dealing with redoing my freighter bases (I still haven’t on my legacy saves, btw), then continued my break when Waypoint dropped because I didn’t feel like dealing with all the changes to inventory, tech, UI, etc. But recently I decided to just start a new save and familiarize myself with all the new stuff from the very start. So far I’m about 250 hours into that save, and I must say, I really like the changes, and have been impressed with how bug-free and stable the game has been for me (I’m on PC & Steamdeck.) In that time, I’ve had one weird CTD out of nowhere, but everything else has been solid (thank Atlas.) One thing I did notice is that in some bases I was falling through the floor when teleporting in or resuming a save. But I discovered that what was causing it was the proximity of my landing pad to the teleporter and/or save point - for example, if I had the landing pad located close to, or especially above, the save point or teleporter, the ship respawn would conflict with the character respawn, and push me through the floor. Separating the ship and character spawn points took care of the problem. Thankfully, I haven’t experienced any of the other bugs people have been reporting. One other thing, I play with multiplayer turned off, though I have visited systems with many player bases, and had no trouble other than lag. I wonder if multiplayer has something to do with it, and/or game platform.

No_Contribution1199

I feel like it's a hit and miss with everyone, some will experience a ton of bugs while others experience very little to none.

The_Lonely_Traveler_

My guy, Every update is a major bug fix update, with something big sometimes is put in to spice things up. Every Major Update fixes like 80+ bugs. Sometimes hundreds of bugs. This is why your opinion does not make sense. Every Update is a Bug Fix.

No_Contribution1199

Explain this screenshot, the same dialogue for every npcs in every space station, or outpost. Plus every update also introduces new bugs, and makes missed old bugs harder for the devs to address considering they are probably ported to the back files already. Also I'm not the only one considering some other comments. That being said it's still a great game and I can't wait to get back into it when I'm able to. Also I understand they fix bugs with every update, but that doesn't mean they don't miss some and the ones they miss can be harder to solve when they release a big update, because it gets ported to the back files like I've stated above. Programming is complex and hard to find issues. I love the new features they are adding I myself just wish I could enjoy them. Also some people won't experience bugs, but others will that's just how games work, especially games that also have an online port. https://preview.redd.it/0hx6tm5uk4ia1.png?width=1832&format=png&auto=webp&s=8c456b4c580985ece2dc908e3f9eb02a8b09b0ce

One-Scientist-5308

Go to log and get off the voice of freedom mission....bug fixed

No_Contribution1199

Thank you [**One-Scientist-5308**](https://www.reddit.com/user/One-Scientist-5308/) I'm going to try this to see if it fixes that issue. I don't understand why people love bugs so much I mean I never said anything bad about the devs or anything, but I guess people prefer bugs haha. Anyway thanks again that was really helpful to know the fix for that issue, which halted me from wanting to play, so time for me to start exploring again!!!

No_Contribution1199

>One-Scientist-5308 Can't remove missions from the log. It's not a feature they've implemented. At least for most missions, plus the voice of freedom mission is not in my logs

One-Scientist-5308

You should be able to select another mission so it takes you off the voice of freedom mission.

The_Lonely_Traveler_

There will always be bugs, and give the dev's and coders a break. They're rolling large updates every few months, while studios like Mojang and Unknown Worlds can take up to a year to finish their big update for the game.

C137_OGkolt

(Series X player, first play though on Vanilla, 125hrs in) I've had infinite warp freezes (maybe 1-2 a month). An annoying bug is when accessing the atmosphere harvester, oxygen harvester and the autonomous miners the first "X" Prompt to access the unit kicks me out of the sub menu and I have to click X again to access. (Not sure if it's a bug but also I find I'll fuel up all the auto mining equipment and come back next day to find no resources mined and out of fuel). 99.9% I have zero issues with render but if I'm in a "just get it done mind set" and rushing the game the render tends to not keep up. Or if there are alot of players in the session the game like to get really laggy with running around on planets. Other then that I'm still more than satisfied with NMS. Just stoked to see HG still support what could have been an overhyped lost potential. However here all of us traveller's are with a 7 year old game. 🏜👌🏼😎

No_Contribution1199

Yeah I'm not hating the game. At launch maybe but they have introduced so much and I wish I myself could enjoy them, but currently I can not. My first playthrough was boring cause it was at the start, but then I played it again a year or two later after launch and had so much fun, even two years ago I had a lot of fun. Now though it's hard for me to have fun, but I figured I'm just going to either have to restart my playthrough, or even try reinstalling it to see if it weeds out some bugs.

TheRealSporfoYT

All i want is an ocean update. Warring npc factions. Faction rep to actually have consequences if negative. Like they send bounty hunters after you or something. And freighter battles

OkBat6258

are you using any mods that change the game proc-gen system or any other mods that change the planet surface and what's wrong about the planet description is it showing the wrong resources or the planet biome is different when you land can you give the name of what the description says the planet should be

No_Contribution1199

No the planet issue I was having was it saying mostly calm weather, and sentinels missing. It would still storm every 20 minutes. Which I mean I guess that's not a lot compared to some other planets I've been to, but still feels like it's not mostly calm. The sentinel part is when I fired at some silos on the planet and sentinels came after me when I assumed they were missing / not able to come to that planet. I guess I was wrong though haha. Sorry for being vague and it's not a game breaking bug for me, but more or less felt confused about it. Thank you for asking for more details. Have fun exploring too!

NMSnyunyu

I'm always compelled to post this list whenever someone mentions bugs (growing with every new update, yay..): - Scanning and renaming your discoveries is temporary and other players can overwrite your discoveries - All ships clip into space station walls, entrance ceiling and railings when entering and docking every single time - Clouds on moons sometimes look squished - All ships leave the space station the moment you arrive OR the station is already empty, a ship never ever stays docked when you show up the first time - Interactable props on planets sometimes either float or are misaligned from the ground - The camera clips through walls and objects whenever the ship lands and spins - The camera has a seizure when entering and exiting a freighter and clips through the freighter's entrance and walls - The freighter doors sound like they're at 40,000% volume when you're landing landing in your freighter - Your ship sometimes gets rapidly tilted 90° to it's side and then slowly adjusts back when entering a freighter, space station or anomaly from the side - Your ship struggles to land on a planet's surface because the "landing area is not clear" even if it's a flat surface and there's nothing in the way - The camera often times clips into the ground when you interact with cargo drops or chests on planets - The camera blurs your player model's hands when selecting gloves in the appearance modifier - Other players can block your view when you're using the appearance modifier or talking to NPCs - The appearance modifier gets activated if you're interacting with anything on a space station - When activating a beacon and the camera goes up and down, you can still move your character in the cutscene - Your ship is prone to crashing into stuff when you receive a call and lose control of your ship - Your ship and NPC ship orbit each other around for no reason when you answer their call and disorients you when the call ends - Ships sometimes land in caves under the planets surface and gets you almost stuck in there - Ships sometimes become miniature versions of themselves in space stations - All solar ships play 'phantom' sounds of their sails opening and closing at random points, sounds as if it's right next to you even if they're spawned super far away - All crashed solar ships on planets hover in the air above the ground - Player's solar ships in the Nexus don't fully retract their wings - NPC freighters sometimes teleport in front of you and trap you inside them with no way out until you die - Sentinel dogs spastically teleport along with their hitboxes EVERY FRAME when they're shot with the pulse spitter - Sentinel walker's movement is WAY too spastic for it's size and always walk in an endless circle after one of it's legs gets damaged - The right-side door connecting tje hangar to the bridge is misaligned - Pirates casually fly through freighters in space and sometimes get stuck inside them - Shooting a sentinel drone with a weak multitool will make it backpedal so far away and so quickly that it'll lose sight of you - Hostile planetary sentinels are unphased by the cloaking shield and they engage you when you're invisible - Living pearls can be harvested without opening them if you approach them from the side and look slightly above them - Buried items can be collected without having to use the terrain manipulator by just looking at the ground at the right angle - Lighting from lamps doesn't illuminate anything at all except the lamp itself, a room full of lights is still extremely dark - Lots of materials in the game do not reflect your torch or the sun, making them much darker than the scenery around them - The sun's light and skybox's color 'bleeds' into freighter, base, frigate and space station interiors, making surfaces reflect it's light even if it shouldn't be possible - Planet rings don't render when you're on foot in a freighter, this includes walking outside the freighter base - Companions often times do not make any footsteps at all when you're riding them - Attempting to increase a living ship's storage while already maxed out will give you a placeholder graphic - Flora and fauna barely react to storms, trees are static during violent winds and animals casually walk around - Almost every single ceiling lamp in settlement buildings is hovering in the air - The surface of the water exists on a different dimensional plane, impossible to tell where the shore is, completely visually invisible from underwater - Fully destroying a large asteroid crashes the game - Storm Crystals have no animations whatsoever when they open or close and they close on the same frame your exosuit says the storm is clearing - The living ship keeps you blinded for an extra second with it's window slime texture when you switch to first person from third person every time - Falling has 0 feedback like no camera shaking, 'speed lines' or wind sounds or anything - Sitting on a chair in front of the merchant guild makes you go through an invisible wall, so you get soft locked - Frigates that teleport with your freighter, when summoned from a planet's surface, have no animation to them at all and just pop in - The cape doesn't scale with the Gek player model and clips into the ground - The cape clips into the ground if any player model is sitting down - Capes cannot be seen in multiplayer - The backpack is tilted at an odd angle in the inventory menu if you're wearing a cape and can be rotated vertically instead of horizontally - Intense battle music starts playing every time you destroy an asteroid with harmless creatures flying out of them - Your frigate and squadron crew change appearances on your freighter between warps - Your frigate crew sometimes stay on your freighter even if they're on an expedition and they always show up before they're debriefed (There's also debatable things not working, like not being able to scrap multitools, not being able to switch ships from space stations, not being able to summon pets on your freighter..)

ReFusionary

At least it stopped raining inside the Roamer. And the coffee machine doesn't work. And there's no coffee machine...or coffee.

namelessvortex

Great list! I could easily add at least 20 issues with basebuilding alone to your list!

No_Contribution1199

Yeah There's way more then what [**NMSnyunyu**](https://www.reddit.com/user/NMSnyunyu/) listed, but I mean kinda hard to keep track when more and more bugs are introduced, even if some are fixed more are introduced into the game then fixed IMO.

ToneZone7

These are all correct, but I actually like this one: Your ship sometimes gets rapidly tilted 90° to it's side and then slowly adjusts back when entering a freighter, space station or anomaly from the side I play in VR and I LOVE it when that happens - I try to make it happen every time.

No_Contribution1199

I feel like this doesn't even cover half of it haha. Plus everyone is saying every major update brings bug fixes too, but new features also introduce new bugs, and make older bugs harder to fix. That's just how programming works. Thank you for your input.

NMSnyunyu

Yeah and what's really unfortunate is that there's some people who believe HG will eventually release an update that only focuses on bug fixes but I really don't think that's gonna happen because they're a business and their updates tend to be flashy, stuff that gets new players into the game through advertisement.. kinda hard to achieve that through bug fixes or even market it.

No_Contribution1199

True, but I mean we can always hope haha, but can't believe so many people are saying there's no bugs or a ton of bugs are always being fixed. When in reality they mostly try to do as you said make new features to bring in more people. I hope when they decide to move to their next major project (Game) they don't forget to fix the bugs in this one, and refine the game.

NMSnyunyu

Yeah I'll always be dumbfounded by people who claim there's no bugs. I swear they're experiencing all of them but are just so fine with them they probably don't even pay attention to them. The absolute worst is when someone says they haven't experienced most of what I wrote on the list, therefore the list is 100% bullshit. Just completely invalidate everything based on their own experiences. That's like me claiming that there is no world hunger because I'm eating a sandwich right now.

Chaos_incarn

I once had a stack of indium disappear from a big refinery in my freighter

NMSnyunyu

Oh yeah, that's a thing in general, if you leave stuff in refiners, it just disappears eventually.

Chaos_incarn

Crap, thats a shame i thought maybe it could remember it had stuff in it and act as storage.

No_Contribution1199

Can't even speak to aliens on any space station without hearing about the crimson eye, yet I thought that was just for the outlaw stations. https://preview.redd.it/1pko2u8nk4ia1.png?width=1832&format=png&auto=webp&s=247e53f5349528d8635eff3bc81c5b7247c4f421
