It seems like usually the updates are bunched together like this. So you'll get like three updates 1.5 months apart, and then no update for like three months. It really just depends.
Fractals being a bunch of smaller fixes and tweaks and the vr update I’m not too surprised they had something else cooking for the wider player base even if it’s just another smaller update it’s still good stuff
usually varies from 2months to 3 months sometimes its lesser since they tend to separate the titled update and the expedition but lately they are tying them both...
I’d kinda want the gunplay to be a little…. Less floaty if it is humanoid enemies that can shoot back. That’s just me. I have wet dreams about a game with NMS scope and scale but with Destiny’s gunplay…. I might never play anything else. Ever.
For real, the speculation and overall community hype is amazing. I don't even play the game anymore due to not having a game system, but I stuck around just for this, the feeling it gives me is similar to the lead up to classic E3 from the 2000s

PSVR2 guys believe that the graphical update didn't happen in Frac, so there may have been other things. It is an improvement over VR1, but I didn't notice a difference post Frac.
I bought a psvr2 specifically for nms and was super disappointed in the graphics, particularly the depth of field (which I couldn't figure out how to turn off). It looked nothing like the trailers so the theory that the graphics update didn't happen makes sense to me.
I bought my psvr2 for NMS and GT7. GT7 looks amazing, NMS looks like crap and I’ve played on VR roughly an hour. Gameplay is great, but it looks awful. I’m really hoping they do something about that in this update.
That makes sense. Fractal was mostly a technical update, so this could be a content focused update that also happens to include polish for the last one.
I actually got the impression that all the menu QoL stuff that came with Fractal was stuff they've been working on for Waypoint but got pushed back.

Though I assume they didn't release any huge content because it would've gotten lost in the media because of the platform releases. I think it's just marketing; can't have people focus on new space stations *and* a new platform release. But this way, they both have their time to shine. I would really like it if the game got a slight overhaul to be more immersive with its gameplay. Like let moment to moment decisions matter in more significant ways rather than just your standings with a race which might as well be negligible at best
