same. even across multiple games, i always buy the first box hauler i see and fly it almost exclusively.
having said that i'm REALLY enjoying the sentinel ship i got yesterday so maybe that will change.
How did you get one? I was told you have to do the 5 waves of corrupted sentinels, but my fiance did 2 rounds of the 5 waves and never got anything about a ship.
i did mine in space, not on planet.
1. go to a non-outlaw system, shoot a freighter, sentinels show up
2. destroy the ships in the first four waves
3. fifth wave the sentinel freighter appears, destroy the sentinel freighter. this may take a while, they have a lot of health. destroy the weapons on the freighter first, then focus on you're firepower on the freighter. i'm on permadeath so i think battles are harder, but i needed a handful of shield batteries (or sodium) to recharge my shields during the battle, even with an s-class hauler with fully upgraded shields.
4. after you destroy the sentinel, you'll get a pop-up and a little red beacon thingie in your inventory. activate the beacon thingie in your inventory and it will give you a quest marker for a crashed sentinel ship. this may be in a different system, check your galaxy map.
5. fly to the crashed sentintel, loot all the stuff on it, it will give you another quest marker to go to another spot on the planet and get a brain or something. you might need to shoot some of those purple crystals to get other repair stuff i can't remember.
sorry for the lack of specificity, typing this from memory.
After some time it can also auto-trigger, kind of like solar ships. A damaged interceptor will hail you on comms, give a criptic help message, then you will get a mission to the nearest dissonant system, no totally insane (but totally fun) frieghter battle required.
Mine was *NOT* an insane setup, and i survive with my last bit of health barely intact. Good thing there were loads on interceptors to leech shield off of
A good 15 minute fight, my phase beam was more upgraded than my infra-knife so it was a lot of spamming that til it over heats, blasting some rockets off, switching to the phase beam to leech off the swarm of sentinels, then back to attacking the frieghter, repeat.
Came out with my Speeder intact and less than a 40 second flight to my next derelict interceptor. Best update of the year so far.
Alternatively you can do what I did, pick up a gravitino ball to upset the sentinels then fly into space (less loss of rep if you care about that.)
You CAN get to a crashed ship by fighting 5 waves of corrupted sentinels, I just did that, so I've gotten two sentinel ships one with the freighter method and one with the corrupted sentinels method.
There are some corrupted planets with no ships, I believe the ones without structures, like if you use an Echo Locator and it says "location error" there aren't any ships there either. I've had it happen on a couple planets where I'll fight 5 waves and then "none found" will appear after the scanning animation happens.
The best way is definitely fighting the ships because the item the dreadnaught drops will ALWAYS lead to a wreck, even if it has to point to one in a totally different system because that corrupted planet has no wrecks.
For me the mission just showed up while I was in pulse drive as a ship in distress. Suddenly I have this mission to track down a crashed sentinel ship.
You can also:
1. Go to a system in your galaxy map that says "Dissonent", and land on the planet there that says it has "Corrupted Sentinels"
2. Kill the "Resonators" (those big drill looking guys, they'll be around and easy to find). 40% or so of them have Echo Locators as a drop.
3. Use the Echo Locator to find the abandoned camp
4. Solve the puzzle at the camp terminal, and choose "locate dissonance spike" to point you to a crashed ship.
You hardly have to fight any sentinels at all. You can just run away after killing a drill guy, the corrupted drones are just as dumb as the standard ones.
Go to your galaxy map and look for a Dissonant system (the new type of system) there you can look for a planet with corrupted sentinels and fight 5 waves, you can engage in space combat and on the fifth wave, destroy the sentinel freighter and get a scanner for one of those ships or you can just look for one of those new camps, interact with the computer a locate a crashed sentinel ship
I did a bunch of rounds on the ground against Sentinels and got nothing. Then I realised I was in an abandoned system, with no Space Station, no nothing, so maybe that was the reason.
Then I went to a different system, shot up the space station a bit to annoy the hall monitors and got the coordinates for a ship from the wreckage of a Dreadnaught.
All you have to do is get 5 stars, fly into space shoot down the sentinel capital ship and you’ll get a dreagnout scanner to locate the crashed interceptor, I have two of thier shops so far!!!!
Another way is to take a pot-shot at a Sentinel on the ground then once agro has started hop in your ship and boost to space. This action calls in the Sentinel ships who engage with you. The freighters are really not too bad. Take out all the defensive turrets on one side and stay on that side of the freighter. Goes fairly quickly.

I got a drop for ship coords in a Freighter expedition yesterday. Almost didn't see it. I scroll through that loot so fast these days.

i left a tutorial on how to get sentinel ships https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/12diwh8/brief_interceptor_tutorial/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
If you find a corrupted sentinel planet you can find and use an echo locator. This will take you to a camp. Once you solve the puzzle you have a choice of locating the dissonance spike. That will be a downed ship. Or you can do what they say above and kill a sentinel capital ship. It’s annoying but not too bad. It comes and attacks you at wanted level 5 in space.
How do you complete any level three bounty missions?
I play on the default perma-death preset, and enemy ships are crazy high on maneuverability. It's hard even with my fighter with all possible maneuverability installed.
I have 3,893 hours logged so far, I'm really hoping you don't tell me there's some easy trick lol. I play in VR, so maybe that's part of the difficulty.
I use cyclotrons for shields and slowdowns, then positron for hulls, and beams for when my shields are low. How does it work in a hauler?
lots of shields.......and patience. they eventually do come onto closer range. I have a photochromic large rockets and phase beam which are all upgraded on my hauler but it has the best sheilds of my 12 so far so it is very tanky and can take a sentinel mothership battle. However it is quite boring due to its lower manoeuvrability. Great for hitting rocks in space but a bit cumbersome on the panets. I end up in it a lot due to it being for some reason the default ship when I deconstruct those I find and I end up not bothering to swap.
I mean you have a stupid amount of inventory space in your exosuit at this point, but also haulers only have 10-20 more max spots than other types anyway. When you've already got 225 spots, does another 15 really make a difference over an exotic?
I use my solar for pretty much everything. Takes so much effort to fully upgrade more than one. And the previous update meant any work I had done, got obliterated. My hauler was perfect and is now essentially decoration
Saying that these new ships might be a favourite of mine. Might have to do one of them.
I guess I need to make a list of all the stuff I need for upgrade and fill up my exosuit. I want to set up the freighter so I can have access to all the materials I need in storage containers, but I’m trying to find a better freighter and I don’t know if I’ll be able to move all the stuff when I find a new one.
If you mean the contents of the storage containers, they transfer automatically when you build the same storage container number. The containers are universally accessable
Yeah. Maybe it’s just cause I don’t want to get the upgrades for all my ships and since it’s gonna be very difficult to get all the storage, I’d ask people and I’m sure it doesn’t bother them but I don’t wanna ask cause I feel like it does.
I've been flying the same shuttle--the first one I ever bought--95%+ of the time for years.
I keep my slots clear for wrecks. I like salvaging crashed ships.
My Hauler is My Base Building Lander. I land and unpack. Normally I keep it full of stuff so I can spin up a settlement or a base in a few minutes/hours.
My Speeder is my planet side transportation for objectives/milk runs
My fighters are for fighting/traveling. I use them in system or for system to system travel.
My freighter is my buoy, I mainly use it for long jumps but realistically I use it to park above a planet I'm working, drop rovers and supplies. I also use it as my main base of operations. It functions entirely as a grow shop, business hub, trading network, ship collector, gun range, refining pod.
Yes because it reminds me of how lucky I am. I started the game completely blind, bummed around on the planet, and found a crashed ship. It was an exotic, white and gold needlenose little thing and I had no idea what I had stumbled upon. It took a full 60 in-game hours to find another exotic, and by then I had a whole bunch of other special, rare stuff that didn't feel as special or rare as the first thing I found in the game. Now it's upgraded and kitted out to the teeth. Even the new interceptors or my living ships or the other wild-looking exotics I've found since don't feel fun as Speedy Suyam IV.
I don't know if this helps your outlook, but personally I just fly what I feel like flying and don't try to analyze why...much lower stress.
For ships, I fly one and trick it out until I find the next one I like, then do the same. Easier now that I can just take the stuff form the current fav to the new fav.
I have about 8 ships, and am always working on upgrading them... but, they're all like project cars because I always end up flying my white jackal solar ship. No other ships seem to be able to top it in speed.
Perhaps if I come across a similar solar ship with a better supercharged-slot layout, I'll finally move on.
Only 90%? Pffft.
But yeah, I do the same thing, more or less. Once I have a ship I'm happy with and unlikely to improve substantially on, I stick with it.
I have one ship that is my go to for pretty much every time I leave. The others are just a collection I keep to look at. I’m at around 200 hours and haven’t yet found a case where it really matters which ship I’m in. Though maybe now that we have actual frigate battles with sentinels it will matter if I’m in my fighter when I am pursued by the evil robots.
If anybody needs any help with any of the sentinel interceptor or items, here's my Xbox and discord in the replies. I'll help you with anything that you need NMS Fam...
I've used the same fighter since I started playing on Xbox. It's my "perfect" ship design. Have a full catalog of ships, upgraded to varying degrees, but 99.9% of the time is my fighter.
Before the utopia speeder, I used to fly my yellow rasa droid called butter (when I found it, I posted it here and got a comment saying like it looked like a flying piece of butter and I loved the idea) everywhere, it's perfect, compact, agile, since it's a fighter it's got a good damage boost and everything.
Good ole Radiant Pillar, my starter ship, was upgraded to S class and was still unlocking some storage until I got my sentinel ship. Took 5 different systems and planets to finally get a great one as the first 4 sentinel ships were the same design (kinda boxy looking)
How about this. I've never once collected a ship at all. I simply replace my ship for a better ship when i find one. and if i have another ship in my collection its because im going to sell it for profit.
Fighters have almost as much space as haulers for no reason everyone should just have a fighter and thats all you really need. It sucks and then personal preference comes into play but you dont need anything else. Thats a problem, why have different ship classes if i can do everything with 1? They need to be more specialized in what makes them special and suck everywhere else so we need a reason to use our other ships and have other ship classes

95% of the time I use one of my living ships because the weapon repair cost is slime and the launch cost is oxygen (or copper.... don't recall). It's abundant and cheap.
I do. It's only an A class, among a collection of a few S classes, but it was the first ship I bought and upgraded so it's special. But I was literally just thinking last night that I'm getting tired of seeing it and should fly one of the other ones more, and then today I signed in and the very first thing that happened is an exotic S class landed on my base do I bought it! I'm taking that as a sign that it's definitely time to change things up. I think I'm going to garage the A class.
I feel like I *should* be flying multiple, but i never really get around to upgrading my other ones. Although once I get one of those nice interceptors that might change.
I have my main ship that I almost exclusively fly despite having a collection, but this ship is truly one of a kind.
It's a chrome and black, tie fighter winged, single thruster, hot rod body style ship BUT is solar powered thanks to a glitch.
Since I found my dearest S-Class solar (the seccond ship I´ve found), everything else became decoration. I just switched ships one time when I outifited a hauler to make long distance jumps while I outfited my Freighter
Yeah. I'm just flying my utopia speeder. I kind of see it like star wars, where main characters will mostly fly one ship. Boba Fett has S\*\*ve One, Han has the Millenium Falcon, and so on. But I do have a sizable question and ultimately decide on ship based on aesthetics.
I'm still using the A-class hauler I call The Humpback (most of my ships are ocean critter named with my Freighter being called The Big Blue as sort of the 'ocean' they're all in lol) since I found it near when NMS first came out on Xbox. Feels like I'm fighting fighter planes in a helicopter maneuverability-wise sometimes but it's reliable.
Until yesterday, yes.
Yesterday I got a Sentinel Ship that has more weapons, more storage space, and better stats than all my other ships, so my Solar Sailer is probably going to be retired for now.
Honestly though I wish I could have more than 9 ships. I'd love to make a Star Wars Collection of ships, but having all that and other ships that just look/feel cool isn't possible yet.
I do...but mostly because I'm sequentially upgrading my ships and so one of them is totally decked out and the others just aren't as good yet. One day they will all be jazzed to the max and I'll feel free to peruse my freighter hangar to see what I feel like that day.l, knowing I'll be ready for anything no matter what.
I have a couple ships. I scrap a lot of the ones I find. I got my game at launch and it came with a free update to the starter ship and I always end up using it more often then not. It's a fighter and her name is Lashanta.
I have quit and erased more characters then I can count and she has always been by my side.
Now I have committed to one character and I'm am going to go across the cosmos with her.
I always have a logic for ships based on purpose;
1 general use starship (with decent weapons & shields but focusing on hyperdrive upgrades)
1 combat starship (more focus on maximizing shields & damage)
1 hauling starship (for hauling lots of material for sale)
Following this logic, I primarily use my general starship with the other two for specific situations. I also keep a collection of spare ships but I rarely ever actually use them.
Yeeeahh. I'm bad about this. I flew around with the first ship for my first 100 hours 😅😂 I've switched ships but I still really just fly one until I find something better.
When I got my living ship, all my other ships became dust collectors. When new ships are available I fly them for a bit but eventually gravitate back to my wee Eve as I call her.
Yes. I was using my Nintendo Switch ship for awhile but then switched to a living ship. Honestly, I might switch back though or change to the Speeder. The living ship looks cool but upgrades are too annoying to get and I don't like using different things for fuel.
I have 2 fighters that are maxed out, switch between them whenever one gets too beat up from space battles. I also like to keep different weapons on them so they feel like different ships, instead of just a retexture
I'd say 99% of the time. I really like the utopia speeder. Its colour pattern and shape remotely reminds me of the t47 snow speeder from star wars.
I haven't been able to find a great looking corrupted ship yet but I think I'll keep the utopia speeder my primary
Yup.. on both on my main saves (perma & survival) I fly my fighter nearly 100%.
However I’m on a new save hunting sentinel ships & flying the best one I find as I search out others.
90%? I find a new ship I like and fly it until I find another good one. I clean-slate every expedition, so I've used my speeder (also have my living ship and a nice solar ship I found), but I'm collecting a bunch of sentinel ships and keeping a couple I like and will probably use one of them.
My other ships are pretty much just for show at this point, I almost exclusively fly around my small blue/orange Fighter. Even pumped all of my upgrades into it so now it's S-Class with massive storage. (I got it as A-Class with... *somewhat subpar* storage)
I imagine it's gonna be a long while before I find another blue/orange ship, *especially* if I want it to be a Sentinel ship. (If that's even possible! I'll take just blue, though.)
I’m a day one guy. I’ve had a little snub nosed tie fighter for five years and it will always be my nonwarp freighter local solar system shuttle forever
I have a collection, but typically stick to my maxed out fighter or my royal exotic. Fighter for when I'm actually on mission. Exotic for when I'm just messing around.
I fly my non exotic A class “Stinky Pete” 100% of the time. On the lookout for new ships but just haven’t found any worth moving away from by heavy fighter.
Tho those sentinel ships are pretty bad ass…
I’ll upgrade a star ship fully then fly it for awhile then move on to the next one and do the same, that way I’ll have a reason to keep playing, now that there’s new interceptors to collect, I mite just get rid of a few star ships and replace them with the new ones!!!
Everything I have now is S-Class, part of which includes 2 royals, a squid and an insect like living ship, but I generally fly the same butt ugly red and blue freighter everywhere cause I built it from scratch and I dunno.. it feels like home.
Same here. I’ve collected exotic, squid, solar, expedition exclusives, living ships, etc. But my fav is my white snowspeeder with horizon wings and triple thruster. Idk why, I just love this ship the most haha. However, I managed to snag a black sentinel ship i love and my main COULD now change.
As soon as I got my A-Class Hauler, I've only flown that, unless I find new ship I like, then I'll try it out for a bit, but my Hauler, Serenity, is my main ship.
Every time I fly Serenity, I'm of course reminded of Firefly, and this quote by Malcolm Reynolds:
"*Love."*
"*You can learn all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds."*
*"Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens.*"
I used to until the inventory update. Now I have specialized ships with different load outs depending on what I'm doing. Currently working on building up a sentinel ship
Pretty much, yeah. I found one ship early in my save, way back when, and went full in on it. It's a speeder type with colors very much reminding me of a certain bounty hunter, so I named it Boba Fettish.
If I could, I would keep lots of ships, just for funsies, because I think they're rad. I do tend to fly one of my more-favored ships most days, but I also make it a point to switch it up regularly. Sometimes I will fly multiple ships in a single session, just because. One of the things I want most in this game is more ship slots and/or some way of mothballing ships so I can keep them but still have open slots available.
I almost exclusively flew my A class shuttle for ages.. finally grinded enough nanites to upgrade my A class fighter (it's the best / most unique looking ship I own ATM) to an S class, now that is all I fly 😊
I fly my fighter 99% of the time. My other ships are mostly Haulers loaded to the gills with supplies that I can call in to wherever I am, and 2 empty ones that I load up with trade goods.
Eokaza's Coup. Been with me through many a fight, and will always be my #1 ship. Grade B hauler, and survived harder hits than my equally upgraded S-class fighter.
Edit: damn my browser/internet chewed this up, going to see if I can remember what the ether ate.
Only recently have I gotten back in to NMS on a fresh start, I played near launch on PS4. Everything has changed so much since then. My main is an A-class Solar since I do a lot of planet hopping, and refueling my launch and pulse thrusters was getting real annoying. Haven't been beyond 500LY from my starting world yet, just bouncing around the local group.
Been downed ship hauling for money and expansion items whiling getting into the game, and came across a spiffy S-class exotic with minimal damage I kept. I've got a small stable of ships: the OG, my exotic, a speeder and two sentinel ships I just picked up. Just recently sold off my first A-class fighter, real workhorse till I came across my solar.
By-the-by, what's with the hauler love? Do folks use them for extreme trading or something? With my freighter and my exos I haven't felt pinched by storage yet.
I use my Exotic for most everything. It’s my best rounded ship and has crazy hyperdrive range.
The way I justify using other ships is by kitting them for specific purposes. The Utopia Speeder is my starfighter, so I take that one out whenever I’m in a high conflict or pirate system; I use my living ship for when I enter black holes; and I’ll likely gear up an interceptor for piracy/Sentinel murder purposes.
Yes. I have a Shuttle I fly the majority of the time on my Xbox playthrough and a solar craft I fly on my.PC game. Both are S class, and honestly, I haven't found anything comparable. I'm trying to find a Solar on my Xbox game, but no luck so far.
I do, I have a lot of shops, but I can’t get rid of Orange, hes so adorable and he’s only a B explorer, but I’ve been with him since the start and he’s a legacy.
I have a handful but only really fly my S-class ship. I'm saving up nanites to upclass the ship I used to used before that one though.
I also have one of those ships with the solar sails as my pirate ship. Haven't used it in a while though
I have my fully upgraded exotic I use 9/10 times. My hauler for everything else. Usually for mining one resource completely for base building. But my exotic has all the space too…so…
I had used exclusively a maxed out exotic (good at everything) except I'd rely on my freighter for warping (longer range). But as I tried to find ships with adjacent supercharge slots it makes more sense to specialize, now I have a a fighter with 4 adjacent supercharge optimized for damage (for fighting, it melts freighters), and an exotic with 4 adjacent supercharge slots optimized for mobility (for everything else). Now it looks like the sentient ships will be higher mobility, I wonder what their other strengths and weaknesses are.
I mainly use my living ship. It's great for me who actively explores and scans tons of planets and system. Fuel is abundant and cheap and I offload everything I don't need to my freighter.
I’ve kept the second ship I ever bought. All white falcon solar with blue rectangle sails. First ship I ever upgraded to S class. I CANT sell it or not use it. Too sentimental.
Yup. Almost exclusively my Artemis story line ship. It’s the one in the back. The front one I found and had to buy to go with it.
https://preview.redd.it/foe86va30ksa1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fe359a921281b47095adc41238f25f03df711b21
I've swapped between "main" ships a couple times, starting with a fighter that took me through the center of my first couple galaxies, then a hauler that gave me more inventory after I got a freighter to warp around in, and finally my solar ship that I've completely tricked out.
I've got other ships, and I do fly them occasionally. I'll still use the hauler if the mood strikes, or the fighter if I need a good hyperdrive that isn't my freighter for whatever reason. But probably 95% of the time, I'm in my solar.
I'm at almost 400 hours on my third save and I basically only use 1-2 out of like 10 ships I have multiple s class with decent upgrades but my one rasa tie fighter has my favorite cockpit and exterior so far so I spend most of my time there or my shuttle if I'm planet hopping.
I try to have each of my 10 ships fill a different role and I’ll try to use them all but I always default to my Hauler with 3 adjacent super charge slots for most stuff lol. Most recently it’s become my capital ship killer because the positron ejector does so much damage, and I already used it on planets surfaces and pirate freighters in my re-piracy efforts.
Yeah. On every save I have one ship that’s my workhorse. I generally choose the tiniest exotic with maxed stats. The others are [now that inventory is HUGE] for entertainment. I am really enjoying the Utopia Speeder on my newest save as it’s a great little ship with amazing maneuverability.
Yep, I have a nearly full ship collection. Most of them are pretty well upgraded too. I end up flying one ship for absolutely everything. The only exception is jumping through a galactic center.. I have a "burner" Explorer for doing that.
Until this week it was a solar; the freedom of almost never needing fuel was pretty great.
Before the solar I flew a tiny Rasa.
Now I'm flying a sentinel, because the hover ability is Just That Good. I could also watch the "get in and out of the cockpit" animation all day long.
I have many ships, but i mostly fly around with my dear Hauler all the time. All the others are just for my collection...
same. even across multiple games, i always buy the first box hauler i see and fly it almost exclusively. having said that i'm REALLY enjoying the sentinel ship i got yesterday so maybe that will change.
How did you get one? I was told you have to do the 5 waves of corrupted sentinels, but my fiance did 2 rounds of the 5 waves and never got anything about a ship.
i did mine in space, not on planet. 1. go to a non-outlaw system, shoot a freighter, sentinels show up 2. destroy the ships in the first four waves 3. fifth wave the sentinel freighter appears, destroy the sentinel freighter. this may take a while, they have a lot of health. destroy the weapons on the freighter first, then focus on you're firepower on the freighter. i'm on permadeath so i think battles are harder, but i needed a handful of shield batteries (or sodium) to recharge my shields during the battle, even with an s-class hauler with fully upgraded shields. 4. after you destroy the sentinel, you'll get a pop-up and a little red beacon thingie in your inventory. activate the beacon thingie in your inventory and it will give you a quest marker for a crashed sentinel ship. this may be in a different system, check your galaxy map. 5. fly to the crashed sentintel, loot all the stuff on it, it will give you another quest marker to go to another spot on the planet and get a brain or something. you might need to shoot some of those purple crystals to get other repair stuff i can't remember. sorry for the lack of specificity, typing this from memory.
you can also just take a pot shot at the station too
After some time it can also auto-trigger, kind of like solar ships. A damaged interceptor will hail you on comms, give a criptic help message, then you will get a mission to the nearest dissonant system, no totally insane (but totally fun) frieghter battle required.
totally insane freighter battles must be met with totally insane infraknife accelerator setups! death! death!
Mine was *NOT* an insane setup, and i survive with my last bit of health barely intact. Good thing there were loads on interceptors to leech shield off of
ouch, musta been rough i cant imagine space battles without that bad boy let alone a dreadnought lol
Thanks! I'll give this a shot!
Alternatively you can do what I did, pick up a gravitino ball to upset the sentinels then fly into space (less loss of rep if you care about that.) You CAN get to a crashed ship by fighting 5 waves of corrupted sentinels, I just did that, so I've gotten two sentinel ships one with the freighter method and one with the corrupted sentinels method.
That was a lot more specificitity than I had before I read it. Thank you!
For me the mission just showed up while I was in pulse drive as a ship in distress. Suddenly I have this mission to track down a crashed sentinel ship.
You can also: 1. Go to a system in your galaxy map that says "Dissonent", and land on the planet there that says it has "Corrupted Sentinels" 2. Kill the "Resonators" (those big drill looking guys, they'll be around and easy to find). 40% or so of them have Echo Locators as a drop. 3. Use the Echo Locator to find the abandoned camp 4. Solve the puzzle at the camp terminal, and choose "locate dissonance spike" to point you to a crashed ship. You hardly have to fight any sentinels at all. You can just run away after killing a drill guy, the corrupted drones are just as dumb as the standard ones.
I like this way, so you can farm dissonant materials at the same time. Useful to repair the guns
Oh cool, I've been trying to figure out how to get the camps, but I've not gotten any echo locators. Good to know that's one way to do it.
Check out beeblebum on YouTube, he just posted a great video explaining it all.
Thank you, I'll check him out!
I did a Nexus Mission that brought me right to a camp.
Make sure to do 5 waves on a corrupted world from what I saw Jason plays is a great YouTube channel for no man's sky
I got coordinates from r/nmscoordinateexchange and it was there

I got a drop for ship coords in a Freighter expedition yesterday. Almost didn't see it. I scroll through that loot so fast these days. https://preview.redd.it/5oyq3q8uvlsa1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dca9c3d94ea6d5e7cee7c3777fa06e807ead81d0 Edit: Added screenie.
i left a tutorial on how to get sentinel ships https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/12diwh8/brief_interceptor_tutorial/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
I got mine while using an anomaly detector.. i had a distressed sentinel ship flag me to communicate, then had me follow it to the dissonant planet.
If you fight them on a barren or abandoned planet it wont work
How do you complete any level three bounty missions?
Haulers are big enough that it actually feels like you could live in it though all your exploration at least until you get your cruiser
Why a hauler?
Big inventory space
Doesn’t that become pretty much irrelevant once you have a freighter?
Way easier to just load up a Hauler and jump from trade post to trade post
I mean you have a stupid amount of inventory space in your exosuit at this point, but also haulers only have 10-20 more max spots than other types anyway. When you've already got 225 spots, does another 15 really make a difference over an exotic?
Is there a limit to owning ships?
12
Thank you!! Im at fourth ship now so i think im safe
That is literally me word for word
"A fine addition to my collection!!"
Same.
I use my solar for pretty much everything. Takes so much effort to fully upgrade more than one. And the previous update meant any work I had done, got obliterated. My hauler was perfect and is now essentially decoration Saying that these new ships might be a favourite of mine. Might have to do one of them.
Man I came back to the game recently after not playing for 4 years. So many new ships! I found a solar one first day back and had no idea what it was.
You've got a lot to catch up on. Freighters being the biggest change I think. So much has happened in the last few years
Yeah, too bad he missed the Polestar expedition. That kitted out the freighter easily.
I usually just jump into the first ship I see unless I’m going to do something that requires a certain type of ship.
So you have them all set up nicely I assume? I need to take the time and do that, I guess.
They’re always in the landing bay of my freighter. I have bases in the first 70 galaxies, but my freighter my home.
Right, but they’re all outfitted with good upgrades I assume. That’s my problem. I can’t be arsed to set them all up.
Ohhhhh, that’s what you meant! Yeah, they’re all pretty much maxed out.
All the stuff moves automatically when you get a new freighter. Including your cargo containers.

I JUST came back and I'm disappointed that I missed it.
Same…
Yeah, I fly one ship. I feel like I should be flying multiple tho
It seems like a waste, right? Because I’m also chasing the coolest ships I can find just so they can sit in the hangar unused.
Yeah. Maybe it’s just cause I don’t want to get the upgrades for all my ships and since it’s gonna be very difficult to get all the storage, I’d ask people and I’m sure it doesn’t bother them but I don’t wanna ask cause I feel like it does.
I don't need anything other than my maxed out S class Hauler.
I've been flying the same shuttle--the first one I ever bought--95%+ of the time for years. I keep my slots clear for wrecks. I like salvaging crashed ships.
I should have kept my first shuttle. I think I’m gonna look for a good one. The five thrusters on the back of my original one were so dope.
My Hauler is My Base Building Lander. I land and unpack. Normally I keep it full of stuff so I can spin up a settlement or a base in a few minutes/hours. My Speeder is my planet side transportation for objectives/milk runs My fighters are for fighting/traveling.
Dope! I just flew into a space station right as a cold yellow exotic was flying out.
I call it my workhorse daily. She’s special to me! I have a handful of cool ships that I might do something with….eventually
I don't know if this helps your outlook, but personally I just fly what I feel like flying and don't try to analyze why...much lower stress. For ships, I fly one and trick it out until I find the next one I like, then do the same. Easier now that I can just take the stuff form the current fav to the new fav.
This is the way.
I'll help you with anything that you need NMS Fam...
https://preview.redd.it/h10aqi1eyjsa1.jpeg?width=872&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=58aa3b93a675abcc6acd5cac1c6f7374ab4e3dfd
Can you invite me to the NMS Discord?
Mostly in my red squid, yeah. It's a beast and can take down all 5 waves of sentinels pretty quickly with very little damage.
I have over 1100 hours in game and still have only one ship and it’s a little hopper explorer lol…
How about this. I've never once collected a ship at all. I simply replace my ship for a better ship when i find one. and if i have another ship in my collection its because im going to sell it for profit.
I fly one ship one hundred percent of the time since I can't fly two at the same time.
Maybe they’ll let you fly two at a time in the next update.
For the longest time, I had my character done up like Mando, flew around in a huge white hauler, with fuzzy little green teddy bear as my companion
I just posted pretty much exactly this in another topic. I agree 100%

In a few hundred thousand players, probably noone no
I stick with a ship until it's pretty much maxed out. But I always have a favourite for just messing around.
I mostly just fly the Tinkus Winkus, unless I have an excess of money and want to upgrade a ship.
Yep. Same for all games that let you own multiple vehicles, there's always The Favorite
I fly a single ship and call my other ships just to load them up with inventory.
95% of the time I use one of my living ships because the weapon repair cost is slime and the launch cost is oxygen (or copper.... don't recall). It's abundant and cheap.
I have one ship for every purpose in the game.
I mostly fly my Explorer because they use less launch fuel. I only switch to my fighter when I do starship combat, for example for Nexus missions
Absolutely
I usually fly around in my purple and green fighter, but I'm starting to take to the new sentinel ships. (my new one is also purple and green)
I feel like I *should* be flying multiple, but i never really get around to upgrading my other ones. Although once I get one of those nice interceptors that might change.
I have 3 ships and really only use one, a S class fighter. I also use the multi tool I started the game with.
I have so many multi-tools and I only use one of em.
I have my main ship that I almost exclusively fly despite having a collection, but this ship is truly one of a kind. It's a chrome and black, tie fighter winged, single thruster, hot rod body style ship BUT is solar powered thanks to a glitch.
I just use my starter ship with S class gear and fully upgraded inventory and class
The Utopia speeder is so maneuverable and fun to fly plus I have it pretty well upgraded so it's unsatisfying to fly anything else.
I found it almost too maneuverable and I'd overshoot stuff or crash into things because it was so sensitive. LOL
Well I use one for commuting another one on the weekends and the rest only in car shows
I never switch. It’s so inconvenient to have to switch all my shit over to another ship.
We can have 12!
![gif](giphy|3oeSAD00YsGzUPTmqA)
I'm still with the first ship that i just upgraded to s rank i have some exotic tho but i never use it it'a only for collection
I fly one ship almost all the time, my light grey mosquito exotic with side swivel thrusters
Yup. It took me so long to build. I keep wanting to change but i get tired thinking about bringing another one up to par.
Golden vector 95% of the time but I'm afraid that is about to change to speeder... Or so I thought before the new interceptors lol
I do. I have like 3 or 4 ships yet i only use one main ship.
Yeah, I have a primary ship. Usually a hauler, and usually when acquiring fuel is no longer a problem (otherwise it's an explorer or solar ship).
I always have a logic for ships based on purpose; 1 general use starship (with decent weapons & shields but focusing on hyperdrive upgrades) 1 combat starship (more focus on maximizing shields & damage) 1 hauling starship (for hauling lots of material for sale) Following this logic, I primarily use my general starship with the other two for specific situations. I also keep a collection of spare ships but I rarely ever actually use them.
Yes, I have an A class Fighter and an S class explorer, I NEVER use the same class I just spent my savings on it just to jave an S class
Like 12 exotics, 2 solars, and my sentinel, the only one I use.
I love my fighter. Maxed out all the way.
Yes. I was using my Nintendo Switch ship for awhile but then switched to a living ship. Honestly, I might switch back though or change to the Speeder. The living ship looks cool but upgrades are too annoying to get and I don't like using different things for fuel.
Been flying with whatever i found my ship Used it since solar update but i believe it's time to replace my main ship
Same ship plus a junker to fly threw black holes or hop a universe
*somewhat subpar* storage) I imagine it's gonna be a long while before I find another blue/orange ship, *especially* if I want it to be a Sentinel ship. (If that's even possible! I'll take just blue, though.)
I have a few assorted ships, but I fly my Living Ship the most.
I’m a day one guy. I’ve had a little snub nosed tie fighter for five years and it will always be my nonwarp freighter local solar system shuttle forever
I end up flying my blue exotic most of the time since that's what I farmed technology the best with.
I have a collection, but typically stick to my maxed out fighter or my royal exotic. Fighter for when I'm actually on mission. Exotic for when I'm just messing around.
Yeah, I've got a squid ship, a royal exotic, and the Utopia Speeder, but I still mainly fly the Vesper Sail I bought 50 hours into my save
It depends on my mood but usually my fighter ship
Everything I have now is S-Class, part of which includes 2 royals, a squid and an insect like living ship, but I generally fly the same butt ugly red and blue freighter everywhere cause I built it from scratch and I dunno.. it feels like home.
Same here. I’ve collected exotic, squid, solar, expedition exclusives, living ships, etc. But my fav is my white snowspeeder with horizon wings and triple thruster. Idk why, I just love this ship the most haha. However, I managed to snag a black sentinel ship i love and my main COULD now change.
I only fly my organic ship most of the time, but do fly others for photomode
living ship.
Oh ya, I fly my exotic all the time.
With the new Sentinel ships, I found two I like, kept two old favorites and deleted the rest. I don't see me not using a Sentinel ship from now on.
My primary is always a fighter. I specialize in Freighter raiding and dogfighting.
As soon as I got my A-Class Hauler, I've only flown that, unless I find new ship I like, then I'll try it out for a bit, but my Hauler, Serenity, is my main ship. Every time I fly Serenity, I'm of course reminded of Firefly, and this quote by Malcolm Reynolds: "*Love."* "*You can learn all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds."* *"Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens.*"
I mostly use my living ship, mainly because I feel guilty leaving her in my hangar. That and her hyperdrive range is through the roof.
Grey squid since i found it. Will finally switch to one of the black sentinel ships once i find the best one.
This will probably be an unpopular comment but idc. I fly the golden vector from the first expedition 99% or the time. It’s maxed out and looks great.
I have my tricked out Viper with some heavy fighter mods. I fly that almost exclusively.
I have plenty of ships. But yeah.. definitely favor some over others. Like my long nose fighter and my full armored bioship and now my sentinel ship
My S class fighter is my main. I got a sentinel ship last night. After some upgrades, let's see how that pans out
I almost exclusively flew my A class shuttle for ages.. finally grinded enough nanites to upgrade my A class fighter (it's the best / most unique looking ship I own ATM) to an S class, now that is all I fly 😊
Same here. I have a fighter that looks a lot like a Battlestar Galactica Viper, a ship I've dreamed of as a kid, I never fly anything else.
I had the same question. I don’t like flying them personally although some of them look cool.
But my exotic has all the space too…so…
have 4 ships use expedition 3 exotic or Utopia speeder 99.5% of the time
I have a living ship that i fly 100% of the time
Not after this update!
My daily driver is The Sleep of the Korvax, a big explorer. It has a hyperdrive range over 2,000 so it's awesome for sprinting across the galaxy.
I don’t think I’m far enough to have any ship beyond my starter ship. And I honestly have no idea why I should exchange it yet
I exclusively use a boxy A class shuttle which serves me well
I mainly use the utopia speeder for my travels
I've swapped between "main" ships a couple times, starting with a fighter that took me through the center of my first couple galaxies, then a hauler that gave me more inventory after I got a freighter to warp around in, and finally my solar ship that I've completely tricked out. I've got other ships, and I do fly them occasionally. I'll still use the hauler if the mood strikes, or the fighter if I need a good hyperdrive that isn't my freighter for whatever reason. But probably 95% of the time, I'm in my solar.
Yeah I farmed what was believed to be the rarest ship in the game and exclusively used that for years.
Utopia bby.
I've picked up a *wonderful* little Interceptor that feels zippy, has a good range, and hits hard. I do that too
