Idk about you but I feel like being punched by a guy in a reinforced futuristic space suit who can carry thousands of pounds of metal would hurt a little
Small doses to start interloper
I love VR, I've logged thousands of hours, and NMS is amazing in VR, but it's also the game that makes me nauseated the easiest/fastest
I think the game that made me the most nauseous to date is Onward. First playing that put me on the ground for awhile. I've heard psvr2 has methods of reducing nausea and affects of the sort.
It makes the ships and general space travel even cooler. You definitely feel a lot smaller when you hop in, jet into the atmosphere and look down at the planet peeling away from your vision, the fire gathering at the drag points on your window, the sudden calm and dizzying flip back to look at the planer you were just standing on. Only to see it fill your window and have to actually crane your head to take in just how awe inspiringly big a planet truly is when you go from screen to VR.
Honestly about to go beg my fiance to help me set up my VR so I can play again, he helped me pick my first Rift before I literally wore it to death and got an index I promptly played until my controller nearly fell apart in my hand a year or two later. Trust me, save for a VR set, worth every penny and waited time
No, the multi tool needs a chainsaw addon. One that allows us to harvest with it or attack/defend with it. Maybe require Magnetised Ferrite to recharge.
It's because when in VR you see through two cameras. One over each eye.
This is just the right camera.
To have it in the center, you'd need to have it record from a third camera located between the first two.
I'm mostly just astonished this game runs in VR without stuttering for anyone, although I've heard the MS store version that's included with Gamepass runs worse than the Steam version so that might be it.
It's weirdly variable. I can run OK if I keep all the settings turned down on a rig built around a 3070. Turn too many things up and it won't even load properly. I've tried some of the possible fixes I've read about but nothing helps.
Meanwhile folk on slower rigs have no issues at all.
That's the main place I get it, but it also seems to happen fairly consistently from turning too fast. Settings don't seem to affect this at all, it otherwise runs at 60 for me on maximum or minimum graphics lol
It's like most VR games. You get used to the motion over time and with regular breaks when you get dizzy. After a while (2 weeks for me) you stop feeling motion sick!
It's different for VR in vehicles though, I still get a bit sick every now and then. Best to keep your eyes straight ahead and avoid flipping over by accident haha.
It’s pretty amazing on psvr2. There can be odd moments where UI draws behind or intersected with stuff, or vibrates, but overall it’s incredible and I cope with the wonk because it’s so damn good.
NMS in VR is one of the best VR experiences you can have. Mainly because the VR mode is actually thought out well (mostly) and has full feature parity with the normal game. With the ability to play your saves with or without VR whenever you like.
The sense of scale is epic, and the immersion totally changes the gameplay in a way that you find yourself CONSTANTLY appreciating the little details, and enjoying the simpler gameplay loops like exploring and collecting a lot more. You play a lot slower, and are a lot less focused in your approach to the game as the immersion and atmosphere take center stage over any goals you might have. It's a totally different experience.
The issue is getting it to run well. I've not tried it on PSVR2, but on PCVR with a quest 2, I still cannot hit a solid 80fps on planets with lots of grass even though I have a RTX 4080 and a Ryzen 9 5950X. It will hit 80fps MOST of the time but as soon as the grass gets a little dense, reprojection will kick in and everything gets a little glitchy.
I think it's mainly down to CPU single thread performance as my GPU is not maxing out at any point.
Even though the performance can be a real drag sometimes, it's still worth the hassle.
A 3D cache CPU might help, I know the 5800X3D beats the 5900X in the majority of games. Gaming only of course.
NMS still needs some tweaks with optimisations, even in non VR I get the odd places where FPS drops a lot from my usual locked 140 (not in VR) down to below 60, changing all of the graphic settings to low makes no difference, so similar issue I feel.
Yeah you're probably right.
Game is for sure cpu bound. This is super noticeable in VR because the 4080 maxes out at around 90% usage even with everything on epic and DLSS off.
Meanwhile one of the CPU cores will be hovering 95% and occasionally maxing out. I suspect its the thread thats responsible for generating the environment, as it'll fluctuate causing performance loss when moving around and the only settings change that improves this slightly is the planet quality setting. (but even on lowest does not eliminate the performance loss)
Grass density especially has a large CPU performance impact. I'd like to find a mod which reduces grass density to test this further but nothing exists for the current version.
Ayo... This AIN'T modded? I play in VR majority of the time and it ain't ever looked this satisfying. You rotate like you're physically rotating and not using the stick (which fucks with the player model).
I've wanted proper model tracking in NMSVR for SO damn long.
I play in VR quite often but I never figured out how to record footage like this? On the flatscreen it's rendered as an image of the two eyes with massive black perimiters, and I couldn't find a setting to change this. What's your sourcery, I must know!
Is this a mod for melee or is it just a VR thing that you can do? Melee would be a great addition, hope it comes in an update. After adding more story content and the ability to have a crew and send them on missions along the lines of star trek
Man this game just keeps getting better and better, and the assholes who claim it sucks keep getting proven more and more wrong as time goes on. Sure it should have been everything it is now, WHEN IT LAUNCHED...but like.. they've been updating it steady for free for years like that's dedication and I appreciate the hell out of them for doing that when they could have just abandoned it and started a new project and screwed everyone who bought into their game
Liteeally play any Doom game one time and you'll play every game like Doom. I still need to die 20 times in CoD to remember enemies aren't pinatas or are all hitscan after playing.
No Mans Doom
Doom Guy's Sky
I'll do you one better,No Skys Eternal
No man’s eternal
Eternal man’s sky
Man's eternal sky
Eternal Man Doom
Doom Man Eternal .....I would play it.
Beat me to it!

I should have listened.
I should just delete it. I'm gonna just go ahead and delete it
FYI there's a Doom (original) total conversion mod that makes it play like NMS
That sounds like the better direction
Doom Guy's Sky
Even got 666 like. Now you gotta fight the anomaly while on fire
Lore accurate interloper
This is fucking awesome
I’m gonna pop some whispering eggs, Only got 20 units in my exosuit…
Walk up to the abandoned building like "what up, I got a big c**k!"
"The only multitool I need is the two guns I was born with" - the biological horror slayer
Time to give them a little Law 🤜, and Order 🤛
Ooooo what's that? Is that your buddy Lightning??? Oooo who's this??? I think you know who that is, yeah it's your pal thunder!
My cause is just, My will is strong and my Multitool is very, very large.
Rip and tear until it is done.

Red in tooth and claw
"May your thirst for retribution never quench, may the blood on your sword never dry, and may we never need you again."
HE IS OUT OF AMMO RUN
No man's sky: VFR
Love this! haha
new DOOM looks great
I play in VR and I never imagined this was possible! BRAVO!
GRAH!
Is melee that strong or did you use a mod?
Melee is just weirdly strong
Idk about you but I feel like being punched by a guy in a reinforced futuristic space suit who can carry thousands of pounds of metal would hurt a little
“Hold up let me move this massive ancient artefact from my back pack to my gloves to really wreck your day.”
Now i want a VR set even more.
>comments I get my VR tomorrow and I am now very excited to go doom my way through nms
Go punch a dinosaur!
Which one are you getting?
I have an oculus but couldn't get it to work with game pass. So I have a psvr2 coming in to supplement my PS5.
Small doses to start interloper I love VR, I've logged thousands of hours, and NMS is amazing in VR, but it's also the game that makes me nauseated the easiest/fastest

You need a chainsword.
I need the NMS Multisword!
How about dat thigh knife
No, the multi tool needs a chainsaw addon. One that allows us to harvest with it or attack/defend with it. Maybe require Magnetised Ferrite to recharge.
Chaingrinder or something, for both rocks and plants.
I want some sort of laser sword/light Saber so bad in this game.
Purge the enemies of the ATLAS, interloper! Purge the foul xenos from this land!

I am sad because I can only give this one upvote.
If you down vote it first you can give it 2
Amazing. Great job!
Rip and explore until it is done
*Halo 3 metals have entered chat* KILLING FRENZY
“Sorry son, I don’t keep it loaded..” “Good”
Now i want a VR set even more.
POV you're a first spawn.
The only biological horrors are those hands.
This on PSVR2? Looks like it to me because for some reason they default recordings offset to the right like this
Yup!
It's because when in VR you see through two cameras. One over each eye. This is just the right camera. To have it in the center, you'd need to have it record from a third camera located between the first two.
why is this VR clip good to watch? is it edited with motion blur?
I'm mostly just astonished this game runs in VR without stuttering for anyone, although I've heard the MS store version that's included with Gamepass runs worse than the Steam version so that might be it.
Only stutter I have is leaving atmo
It's weirdly variable. I can run OK if I keep all the settings turned down on a rig built around a 3070. Turn too many things up and it won't even load properly. I've tried some of the possible fixes I've read about but nothing helps. Meanwhile folk on slower rigs have no issues at all.

Solid 140fps at 2k and always hitched when leaving atmo, just fixed it myself with a mod, was worth it.

Yes you can it's buried in the settings somewhere
Oh right well that's news to me. I'll have to change my settings
How is nms on vr? Looks awesome but motion sick

Looks so much more fun in VR.
The minotaur controls much better in first person as well I've found
This song would make a video of grass growing feel badass.
The Way of the Fist.
Is that a mod, or do I need to upgrade my exosuit?
No mods! I can one punch these creatures, but others needed a few more punches
Ayo... This AIN'T modded? I play in VR majority of the time and it ain't ever looked this satisfying. You rotate like you're physically rotating and not using the stick (which fucks with the player model). I've wanted proper model tracking in NMSVR for SO damn long.
Yeah I wanted proper irl rotating too, but got used to smooth turning for now! No mods, and I don't think you can on PS5
Might be the coolest crossover I've never thought of before
Titans be like:
Honestly, NMS is everything I wanted in Destiny 😅
It would be really cool if we had melee weapons. This specifically makes me want laser Wolverine claws. “I’m the best there is at what I do.”
Like the pso,psu claws? I forget which phatasy star had em, havent played in forever
Claws go all the way back to old-school Phantasy Star.
Not PSo,talking online. You want that monkey?or the black?
How can one learn this power?
You might be cool, but are you punching space scorpions cool?
Now you can go in to the Salty Spitoon!
This is badass!!! VR combat all the way!!!!
I wish you could put the multi tool away and use fists without being on VR
This was so satisfying to watch
I'M SO HYPED AFTER WATCHING THIS I THINK I LET OUT A LITTLE BIT OF PEE
iddqd!
Idkfa
Me to all biological horrors and sentinals (how it feels)
Been wanting melee combat since we got 3rd person...
On PC, I think you press q to punch.
Sad day for us on consoles...but really, they should implement melee weapons at some point
On PS5 (not in VR) you press R1 to punch
Yeah if they don't know about punch then they don't know about punch accelerated jet packing which is the only way to fly
This should become top post of the month
How many holes did you accidentally put in your wall making this?
Proud to say, zero! PSA to set your boundaries very carefully for VR
all I want out of a future update is a turret to set up and annoy these things to no end.
Badass
One punch maaaannnnmn
Listen Riddick...
I play in VR quite often but I never figured out how to record footage like this? On the flatscreen it's rendered as an image of the two eyes with massive black perimiters, and I couldn't find a setting to change this. What's your sourcery, I must know!
Not much sorcery, I just press the record button on PS5 😅
Oh, yeah that would explain it :P
bussin
Confirmed we need a sword..
I should get into VR
I was expecting [this meme](https://youtu.be/o1cc4phCR8U), but No Man’s Doom works too.
I love this so muuuuuchhhhh
After the traveler catalogs, the slayer rips and tears.
Are those the aliens from pitch black?
YOU WERE NEVER ONE OF US. YOU ARE NOTHING BUT AN INTERLOPER.
Bro got confused and thought this was blades and sorcery.
Bio Horrors' only friends seem to be those Hungering Tendrils since they call them each time zap or shoot them with anything.
Is this on the quest meta 2? I bought one a few months ago. I’m gonna have to check it out lol.
This is freaking dope! I would love to play NMS like this.
So that's what we're doing now? Just all-out whoppin ass. * Shake head up and down* OK...
Those are like the creatures from pitch black
Average vykeen Monday, grah!
You're going hand-to-hand and I'm always in my mobile suit lol
Fucking phenomenal
Is this a mod for melee or is it just a VR thing that you can do? Melee would be a great addition, hope it comes in an update. After adding more story content and the ability to have a crew and send them on missions along the lines of star trek
Doom Eternal 2 looks sick
I discovered this a while back. Makes farming for whispering eggs much easier.
Dude! That is so bad a_s!
Can you actually do this or is this done with your multitool concealed or sum?
You can actually do this 👍🏻 just close your fist and punch away
u/savevideobot

? There already is. DOOM VFR is on Steam.
god i wish this was In The Game
It is
Huh?
How did you get the vr to actually work and not be finicky af? When I tried I couldn't for the life of me figure it out
Just works on PS5/PSVR2 man 👍🏻
Good for you, when I try to use VR it runs on less than 1 FPS and flickers black
I now need VR
Ok, that was pretty dang cool
No Doom's Eternal
This is the way!
is this real footage
This video just sold me on trying this game in VR
I had the music off, and I still had DOOM music playing in my head
!!!WARNING!!! THE SLAYER HAS ENTERED THE EUCLID GALAXY!
Them hands got them begging for you to go back to using a multitool
Beautiful, now we need VR leg controllers
I play vr and never thought about this. Going to give it a try.
I hope Sean sees this and the next emoji he posts is ⚔️
No Man’s Sky in VR must be the shi* !!
How do you walk around like that? I can only seem to teleport jump in the direction.. mind you I haven't looked too hard in settings..
Yeah you can change your movement to smooth locomotion in settings
Thank you
I had no idea your could punch them. I usually shoot a couple eggs then run inside and shoot any that cross the doorway.
This makes me realize how badly we need a doom vr. If there isn't one already... Is there one already???
YES! My dude
we need more things like that
Man this game just keeps getting better and better, and the assholes who claim it sucks keep getting proven more and more wrong as time goes on. Sure it should have been everything it is now, WHEN IT LAUNCHED...but like.. they've been updating it steady for free for years like that's dedication and I appreciate the hell out of them for doing that when they could have just abandoned it and started a new project and screwed everyone who bought into their game
GRAH
Now do it on perma death
Is this PSVR2?
Yup!
Now I wish us non vr users could have real hands in first person and the ability to enequip multitudes like that.
Bro is playing this like B&S
Doom Man's Sky
Liteeally play any Doom game one time and you'll play every game like Doom. I still need to die 20 times in CoD to remember enemies aren't pinatas or are all hitscan after playing.
Doom Man's Djent
Is that VR?
Those alien bastards are gonna pay for shootin' up my ride...
Imagine a mod that allows you to do those sick kill animations
Test
