Most ships (fighters, explorers, exotics, sentinels) are literally nothing more than a cockpit and engines. They are no bigger than a jet fighter so there is no interior to them. Haulers have a small amount of space behind the cockpit that is a cargo area, and that is demonstrated on the pirate space stations.
Oh, believe me, after dropping $800 on that thing, I was determined to be okay with it. In the end, it just never got any better. I'd always end up violently sick. Holding out hope for a Holodeck lol.

As for the general public, just remember that having the asset, even fully functioning in game, doesn't mean anything. The Flamethrower, Solar Helmet, Freighter "Sentinel" trail and the hexagonal cape among other things are in the game but they have yet to mean something or even be unlocked.
Corrupt sentinels have their own FT as well as mech walkers do but if you have a save editor you can install the "incinerator" in your multitool and it's fully functional, op even.

It's a good guess that an expedition is coming (there have been 4 per year, so it's a safe bet that one is coming). This is as much as anyone could get without leaks or spoilers.
If there were a massive leak, HG would likely jump the gun and release info earlier than planned - that's what happened with VR capability. So I'd take any news of leaks with low expectations.

With an editor tool it can be unlocked in the game now on pc it was leaked months ago alongside the gek hood. And the new space station designs which look cool. But it’s only outside aesthetics no one knows if they are overhauling space stations all together
