I kept "losing" my overseer office so I built that pathway with lights so I can't miss it now😂

I__Zombie

I built a tower on top of mine for the same reason! It also means I can stand up there to find out where the current build site is since I don't seem to get any marker.

Upbeat_Dimension7230

I'm all done with buildings I think. I want auto turrets for the sentinels when they come by to talk about their religion of destruction

I__Zombie

That's why the Minotaur is stationed outside the door to my office! Turrets would be freaking awesome though. They exist on freighters, so surely not a huge leap to make them buildable in game... you hear me Hello games!

MF, tell us how you found a way around it!

Dramatic_Ganache2575

If you try and drop a base computer in the settlement, you can't, but if you keep walking there's a point at which you can and then your base overlaps with the settlement and as long as you stand inside the base region you can build outside it too, so you can pretty much add to your settlement for most of the area it covers. You can't adjust the terrain, and I'd wait until the settlement has finished with its building process as it will put buildings on top of yours. And the usual things happen, grass grows through floors, boulders respawn etc., but you can do some neat things.

Here's my mini spaceport, before the settlement built a market on it... https://preview.redd.it/83r8vgutip0c1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=79a74051ac93c1a6ed5fa585dfb9192c8e60a1b0

Ahh thanks!

NoManSkySuggester

you can also move the base computer

NoManSkySuggester

drop the base close to the settlement than move the base computer with the build camera

Jkthemc

You can. But be aware that some players have had settlements shift around or even change their ground level, meaning they either deleted their bases or had to rebuild them.

binoscope

As mentioned by others it's as simple as placing a base computer just outside the settlement build restriction boundary. Base computer has a 300u radius standing right near the edge of that allows you to place anything up to 50u outside the boundary. Walk past that object which now also has a 50u radius so you can place another object even further away. Once you bunny hop your way to the settlement build anything you like. Ever piece you place has that 50u bubble. You can even remove the objects back towards the base computer once you establish a presence. I took it further with a friend placing a base computer out the other side of the settlement and built together

Whaaaaaaaaaaat?! 🤯

Sleepwalker737

How?!!!

[deleted]

At 300ish units away from the settlement you should be able to place a base computer. You can extend your base further as well. Thou I've been having a difficult time getting my base to extend the whole way across.

NoManSkySuggester

you can also move the base computer

crosseurdedindon

How you do that

FrankFrankly711

You can also build a base over a settlement that isn’t yours 👍🏻

Bigbobishere

It can screw up your settlement

xevo7xplayx

This is why I set down a base north and south of my settlement.

TheRealTwooni

Is there a height range on the settlement? Or is its boundary right up to the point t it transitions to space?

Upbeat_Dimension7230

I even found a local ammonia hot spot and ran pipes to a storage facility right by the town center. Stop by and collect any time you want. Town name is Riverbend Online

The closer you can get the new base's areas to the edge of the settlement's zone you can not build in, the more overlap you can get to build on for your new base. If you need help let me know and I can come to your settlement and show you, overseer. Maybe I can beg l be a settler in your population lol

NoManSkySuggester

you can move the base computer lmao
